SxF Chapter 97 TwiYor Parallels

Wow wow was not expecting today's chapter to veer off into old people territory!

Henry Henderson's flashback was so poignant. Who knew him and Martha went that far back to being Eden classmates together?

Other than the anti-war message that seems to be coming up in the next chapter, I believe Endo has another message for us readers: that this is a cautionary tale for younger not-quite-there couples like Twilight and Yor.

There's already another parallel in the Henry/Martha relationship with TwiYor: Twilight is the brainy one, and as a child he was rather timid and a bit of a crybaby due to his overbearing father, while Yor is the athletic and bold one at least when it comes to defending the weak and standing up to villains.

But the deeper parallel is this:

Twilight's already outright said a few chapters ago that his lesson from the Mole Hunt Arc was that he had to kill his emotions and no longer allow himself to be so weak. He's firmly in denial, obviously. But it is entirely possible that he could follow Henry Henderson's path and stubbornly ignore a person who clearly adores him, who's been standing right next to him all along, all on behalf of some lofty ideals he may never achieve in his lifetime.

Now are we going to get a Henry Henderson + Loid Forger heart-to-heart over relationships and past regrets?? PLEASE HENDERSON-SENSEI, APPLY YOUR ELEGANT ADVICE TO THIS HOPELESS YOUNG MAN'S LIFE! GET HIM TO REALIZE HE'S IN LOVE WITH HIS WIFE!

The first war seemingly happened in roughly 40 years ago when Henderson was in his early twenties:

Ch.5 & 97

Westalis and Ostania signed the East-West Pact, but war broke out again about twenty some years ago.

Ch.62.1

It's most likely that [redacted]/Roland joined the second war between the nations. (Yor is 27 years old. Loid is most probably in his early 30s, if we assume that he and his friends were at least 18 when they reunited.)

And the second war ended officially more than a decade ago.

Henderson was so focused in his ideas that made him not relax and fully enjoy his 100% school experience with his classmates.But I think his big regret was not open his eyes a little more and see that Martha was tremendously in love with him.

And as with almost everything in SxF we have the most bittersweet moment of the chapter fate brought back together Henry and Martha, the feelings that were hidden came to the surface but the war began destroying everything at his path

Is really sweet that the word "elegant" who represents Henderson so much day to day came out to see Marta dance so beautifull.

After all, they did have a history together

I fear that Henry Henderson was so focused on meeting his goals

that he didn't see that Martha didn't go to his little their little tea reunions just for tea, it was for the tea and to be with him.
