found some thoughts i wrote ages ago about the green blue dynamic let's post this at 3am because i'm bored

when they're confronting vio at death mountain i really like how when green puts his hand in front of blue he stops and lets green lead. it's good to see him change from arguing with green all the time to trusting his decisions at the same time blue recognizes that there are things that green isn't suited to handle so he'd take green's place if needed (like when they face their father). they're both stubborn but they still understand each other blue's relationship with green is a little different from green's relationship with the other two, because blue was the one who fought the hardest against green's leadership since the beginning. he grows to respect green's leadership, but he also doesn't hesitate to intervene and take over for him green is the kind of person who feels responsibility to shoulder the burden of everything. that's why he challenges vio to a 1-on-1 duel (to keep red and blue uninvolved). facing vio is especially hard for green because he's a very sentimental person (the only one who outright refused to fight the hyrule knights in ch2, the one who encouraged erune to hold onto rosie, the one to tell shadow that he is their friend etc) but no matter how difficult it is he does it out of a sense of duty i don't think it's far fetched to imagine that the scare of thinking vio killed green might have solidified blue's resolve to step in for green when he needs to vio says that green is too soft (to defeat him) and blue says that green is too soft (to fight their father). they both recognize that about green's personality (and i don't think they think it's a negative trait) blue's sentiment towards green isn't 'you're too soft (and you need to be tougher)', it's 'you're too soft (so i'll do it for you)' blue doesn't want to attack their father either, but he still puts on a reassuring smile for green's sake!! haha. what if i died
