THE RED DEATH
Warning!!! If you are sensitive to illness, blood, death, body horror, killing, and caniblisam do not read!!!!
I had sooo much fun writing this! I This is mostly just headcanons and explanation of the infection. I will be writing a more in-depth story to go with this so stay tune for that! Please give feedback it’s much appreciated! Now with that all said and done! Here’s the story! Not edited yet.

The first stage of infection
fever, fatigue, coughing, low appetite, and headaches. The infected only appear to be mildly sick. Not as contagious as the later stages. But they are still contagious.
The second stage
chest pain, congestion, nose bleeds, and trouble breathing. The infected will start to hallucinate things.
The third and last stage
coughing up blood, constant nose bleeds, By this stage those who are infected start becoming aggressive and attack people. The infected will use all of their last remaining energy attacking any and everyone. It’s suspected the reason infected attack is because of the hallucinations. The infected will soon loose strength over a week and slowly die. One of the ways the infected attack is bitting and scratching. Do. Not. Get. Bitten….

The first members of the congregation infected was a group of five siblings that left the ministry to go out and get seeds and luxury goods from the neighboring city’s.
After a few days back the five siblings were bedridden and sick. soon more members of the congregation that had been in close contact to the infected siblings fell ill.
cases of the infection skyrocketed all over the world. Officials called it the red death, Not long after the first announcement hundreds of letters were flying in by the day. abbeys all over the country were reporting red death cases.
And soon all the abbeys were put in lockdown. Papas orders no one was to leave the grounds or enter. All communication was cut with the outside world and the other Abby’s.
The ministry luckily has a gardens on the property. the Abby was mostly self sufficient with the exception of electricity. Good thing for candles and fire places.
As head doctor of the ministry omega, got together a team of ghouls with quint magic. All of whom previously volunteered in the hospital. Quickly omega, aether, sunshine, swiss, phantom, and aurora all worked together to figure out a solution for the spread, containment and cure of the infection.
The team of ghouls suited up in old plague doctor uniforms and quarantined anyone with symptoms in the old abandoned hospital wing. eventually all those who were infected first became aggressive attacking the ghouls. sadly this is how they figured out that ghouls were not immune to red death.
Aether was bit on the ankle during the attack However with the help of his and omegas quintessence magic they figured out that it slowed the spread. And since Aether was full of quintessence magic the infection barely affected him. He is at stage one of the infection.
Since his body is constantly using quintessence magic he is very fatigued and gets lightheaded at barely any exertion. He has been put on bed rest, but he is still helping any way he can, documenting his experience and trying to find a cure. He knows he’s close he just doesn’t have all the pieces to the puzzle.
Aurora was not as lucky as aether. She had taken her mask off because the glass shielding her eyes shattered when she fell trying to get away from the attacking infected. The other ghouls did not get infected and helped get her and aether to safety during the attack
Her right eye was scratched out by one of the infected. The attack also left the right side of her face heavily scarred and disfigured. Unlike aether she isn’t fully quint so the infection affects her more so than aether.
She has nose bleeds and headaches. Aurora also has a hard time breathing if she’s too active. Luckily the small quintessence’s she does have keeps her from going to the third stage. And with omega and phantom infusing magic into her she is mostly stable. She hasn’t been able to look herself in the mirror since the attack. She has trouble walking without help she now uses crutches to get around the Abby.
She and aether boned over their shared trauma from the attacked. They both have been staying in the Library researching as much as they can for the cure despite being told to stay in their shared room. Sometimes, when exhaustion gets the best of them, they just sit in quiet companionship, supporting each other with silent understanding.
Soon infected from the town’s and city’s stated flocking to the ministry attacking anyone that left the building. The situation quickly deteriorated into chaos.
the food rations were dwindling due to the fact no one could get to the gardens and orchard outside. Desperation grew as the days passed. Survivors within the ministry began rationing what little they had left, and tensions rose among them.
Soon the papas, sister, and saltarian all gathered to discuss what in the hell’s they were gonna do. Surprisingly copia was the one to suggest mercy killing the infected that wander the property. The brothers was quick to agree with him however Sister and saltarian were harder to convince. Both soon caved with the brothers already discussing battle plans
Terzo and secondo both offered to help in the fight but copia refused. If the fight was unsuccessful the ministry needed the papas alive.After the meeting copia was suited with a plague mask and marched to the church door with the ghoulettes at his side.
Copia armed baseball bat and his two ferocious lionesses cirrus and cumulus set off the clear the Abby grounds of infected.
The three of them stared taking down infected one after another. Soon not many infected were still alive.
Soon the ministry was able to farm again. But copia cumulus and cirrus go out every day to make sure no wanters are causing trouble. Soon things started to get better. For now

BERN, Dec 1 (Reuters) - Switzerland has frozen an estimated 7.7 billion Swiss francs ($8.81 billion) in financial assets belonging to Russians, the government said on Friday, under sanctions designed to punish Moscow for its invasion of Ukraine.
The figure, a provisional estimate, represented a slight increase from the 7.5 billion francs the Swiss government said it had blocked last year after the neutral country adopted European Union sanctions.
The State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO), the agency overseeing sanctions, said the 7.7 billion francs figure was only its latest estimate and was subject to change.
It was difficult to give a precise figure due to new people being added or removed from the sanctions list, as well as legal cases to freeze or unlock further assets.
A more accurate figure is expected by the end of the second quarter 2024 when the Swiss banks report to the government.
The increase in the frozen assets is due to an increase of 300 people and 100 companies and organisations who have been added to the sanctions list over the past 12 months.
It also includes the estimated profits from cash deposits, bonds, shares, as well as properties and luxury cars.
Bern has also blocked the movement of 7.4 billion francs in foreign currency assets belonging to the Russian central bank.
SECO declined to comment on which individuals have had their assets frozen.
Still, the frozen assets are only a fraction of the total wealth held by Russians in Switzerland, with the country's banks holding 150 billion francs, according to estimates by the Swiss Bankers Association.
President Alain Berset pledged more support for Ukraine during a visit to the country last month and discussed using the profits of frozen Russian assets to help rebuild the country.
The European Commission is working on a proposal to pool some of the profits derived from frozen Russian state assets to help Ukraine and its post-war reconstruction. Switzerland is taking part in the discussions but has not decided whether to support the proposal.
But there have been limits to the Swiss support, with the country rejecting pleas from other countries to be allowed to send Swiss-made weaponry and ammunition to Ukraine, citing the country's neutrality laws.

October obliterated temperature records, virtually guaranteeing 2023 will be hottest year on record (AP) This October was the hottest on record globally, 1.7 degrees Celsius (3.1 degrees Fahrenheit) warmer than the pre-industrial average for the month—and the fifth straight month with such a mark in what will now almost certainly be the warmest year ever recorded. October was a whopping 0.4 degrees Celsius (0.7 degrees Fahrenheit) warmer than the previous record for the month in 2019, surprising even Samantha Burgess, deputy director of the Copernicus Climate Change Service, the European climate agency. “The amount that we’re smashing records by is shocking,” Burgess said. After the cumulative warming of these past several months, it’s virtually guaranteed that 2023 will be the hottest year on record, according to Copernicus.
