Could you please recommend some good Warriors fanfics or authors? :•)

To be honest I've really fallen far behind on reading fanfiction since I started throwing my back into running this blog, since Clan Culture research takes up a lot of my time

But I do follow Birdsong-warrior's Swifthawk's Chance, especially with how much effort they put into portraying Swifthawk's injuries and the attention to detail they put into family trees. Not to mention how excellent they are at capturing the utter dread of having such a toxic family member. It's something special, definitely check it out.

My buddy @katiek101's work is real good, particularly the History Has Its Eyes On You series. I tore through the whole thing on a long bus ride, they have a great way of showing how this volatile couple has a deep and comforting bond under it all, and I adore the way they describe yearning. It made me enjoy Romantic RussetfurxBlackstar when I usually get behind them as Gay Besties, which I think says a lot.

Aaaand I really enjoy Fire and Water, which is a retelling of TPB following Fireheart joining RiverClan instead of ThunderClan. I hesitate to call it an AU, because it keeps the events largely the same while just putting the POV in another Clan. Its worldbuilding is brilliant, it manages to make every Clan feel distinct in the short time we spend with each one, and never forgets the 'emotional core' at the center of character arcs. Its current sequel novella, Leopardstar's Lament, has been absolutely marvelous.

So there you go! Three recommendations. Right now I'm rereading TNP for my rewrite.

Amab bigender brackenfur x adult!swiftpaw hypokits

(warrior name in this au is swifthawk and cloudtail(and thornpaw) tag along with fighting the dogs but cloudpaw was blinded and thornpaw is killed)

Warriors Ship Hypokits: Bigender!Brackenfur x Adult!Swiftpaw Edition

In this AU, Brackenkit and Thornkit are not Frostfur and Lionheart's biological kits (although the two are still littermates): rather, they were kits stolen from WindClan by ShadowClan when they drove them out but were accidentally given to ThunderClan along with Cinderkit and Brightkit, who are the actual FrostLion kits who were stolen. ThunderClan still accepts them and by the time anyone notices the mistake it's far too late to return the two. The more battle-minded Thornpaw becomes close friends with Swiftpaw. When Swiftpaw and Brightpaw go to fight the dogs, Thornpaw tags along, as does Cloudpaw, wanting to prove himself to his new Clan. It goes very poorly: half of Brightpaw's face is torn off, Cloudpaw is blinded, Swiftpaw loses his tail and half of a hind leg, and Thornpaw is killed. The Clan mourns the tragedy and Bluestar gives them awful names. While Brackenpaw is incredibly upset by the death of his brother, he doesn't blame Swiftpaw for it, knowing that Thornpaw would've fought the dogs anyway. Over time, Brackenpaw and Swiftpaw grow closer, and she delays getting her own Warrior Name until he, Cloudpaw, and Brightpaw get better ones. Firestar gives them the names Swifthawk (after Swiftpaw saved Snowkit from the hawk), Cloudbloom, Brightheart, and Brackenthorn (specifically requested by Bracken himself). Swifthawk and Brackenthorn become mates and have four kits with their friend Sorreltail as their surrogate.

The litter is born in Twilight, sired by both Brackenthorn and Swifthawk:

Cinderheart- dark gray tortoiseshell molly with blue eyes. Cis molly, bisexual. Named for Cinderpelt, who sacrificed her life saving her and her siblings from a badger. Cinderheart's personality is mostly the same as canon. However, she becomes a (willing!) Medicine Cat after her leg injury, training alongside Hollypaw under Leafpool. She and her fellow ThunderClan MedCat Hollyleaf have a sort of unofficial mateship that rides the line between breaking the Code and not- they are obviously very close to one another, but they are both Medicine Cats and never have any kits. This doesn't directly violate the rules, so they are allowed to stay together. She is a Seer.

Honeyflower- pretty black-and-golden tabby molly with blue eyes. Cis molly, straight. She is sort of a mixture of Honeyfern and Poppyfrost character, plot, and personality-wise. She gets her suffix from her grandma Goldenflower. She gets bitten by an adder while saving Briarkit but manages to survive. She is paralyzed from it and ends up becoming a Den-Mother and mates with Berrynose. She dies in the storm following the battle against the Dark Forest, to the grief and devastation of her family, mate, and children. She is a Scout, then a Den-Mother.

Campiontail- very pale ginger tom with white paws and amber eyes. Trans tom, gray-asexual. Campiontail is a perpetual workaholic, and the fact he hasn't keeled over and died from overwork is considered to be a minor miracle from StarClan. He’s one of those people/cats who doesn't have any hobbies outside his job. His constant working and prioritization of his duties isn't entirely an intentional thing, though. He enjoys hunting so much that he doesn't really want to do anything else with his time. Campiontail loves his family a lot but expresses it in his own, odd, way. They love him back just the way he is, but wish that he would just take a break already PLEASE. He is a Hunter.

Saffronstone- pale torbico molly with striking yellow eyes. Cis molly, pansexual. Bold and a major show-off, Saffronstone refuses to fade into the background of Clan life. She loves getting attention and has trouble sharing the spotlight, although she is getting better at that. She grew up envying her sisters due to how pretty they both were, but grew out of it as she aged and now has a good relationship with both of them. In her downtime, she likes helping her sister Cinderheart collect herbs or hunt with her brother Campiontail. Quality time is her love language. Saffronstone always had a crush on Lionblaze but thought it was unrequited for the longest time, while all the while he thought that his crush on her was unrequited. When they finally got together there was a ton of rejoicing. She is a Scout.

I would do it before Swiftpaw dies, having Goldenflower and her younger kits leave. Maybe have her try to convince Swiftpaw to come too, but he Stays, maybe denouncing her as a Traitor, too? Idk. Something about Swift pulling a move like Longtail does to Tigerstar seems sweet. Maybe have him tell her he'll prove to Thunderclan that he's different, he better than her and his dad. (If you go by Tigerstar is his dad theory) I think Fireheart could bully the surviving elders into helping him give Swift a warriors funeral. Maybe have Fire beg Starclan to accept Swift as a full warrior, just flat out pleading and when he gains his lives Swiftlight gives him a life. Also, it could give you a scene during the escape of Misty, Feather, and Storm where Goldenflower asks Firestar about Swift, and Fire let's his warrior name slip.

Or...Swift could survive the dog attack, (and this is going on the theory that Swiftpaw is Tigerkin) and the other clans think he's dead, but Cloud has pushed both bright and Swift on and all three cats sort of become under Longtail's mentorship. But during this time, Goldenflower has found out there's rabid dogs that her mate sent into her clans home, that she still has kin in, her brother's kits, are in danger, and she knows Fire is doing his best, but I can see Goldenflower sneaking out and go spy on thunderclan, and the night she gets there, is the one where they bring Swift and bright back from the attack. They're still alive, and Cinder saves them both. But Goldenflower leaves before she hears that they're going to live, so she walks back to Riverclan, utterly heartbroken. How can she tell her kits their big brother is dead? Dead because of his father...

And then that disastrous gathering happens, and Firestar announcement happens but..he also adds "Thunderclan has 2 new warriors tonight. Brightheart, and Swifthawk! And Goldenflower gets to see her boy, her oldest son, and she sees the damage Tigerstar has done to him, and it makes her angry.

This ask was... a lot and I've laready shared pretty much all of my Swiftpaw-related thoughts on the last ask. BUT I have to say I love the thought in this one that he could survive and be hailed as a warrior at a gathering and it would fuel Goldenflower's seething rage towards Tigerstar. That's one AU change I'll keep in consideration.

This took me way longer than I’d ever admit because I dont know how to use layers for shading but here he is! one grumpy, very hurt Swifthawk! This dude and his design is from @birdsong-warriors comic Swifthawks chance. I’ve absolutely fallen in love with their comics and characters and finally caved into drawing him. I’m actualy super please how he came out. Probably mostly due to birds amazing colour design.

New Crack Pairing: SwiftHawk

Please enjoy this crack ficlet I wrote very quickly to bully my friend @alysurr in response to her stealing Bow for her crack ship, Seabowmista. It’s a modern AU where Sea Hawk / Swift Wind, form a beautiful romantic bond based on a love of singing and burning down barns to set horses free of the shackles of oppression.

To quote our friend, Lays, “The fact that this is genuinely well written terrifies me!“

Sea Hawk sat at the bar, swirling his drink. How had it all gone so wrong? A three-way had sounded like so much fun! But now Mermista was in love with Bow and he was left out in the cold.

His dearest Mermista! The love of his life and the best sex he'd ever had! How would he ever get over this?

"Hey mustache!" The bartender was a beefy guy who reminded him weirdly of a lizard. He ticked his head towards the end of the bar. "Buck up! The Stallion wants to buy you a drink."

"A horse wants to buy me a drink?" Stranger things had happened. Sea Hawk craned his neck to see where the lizard man had indicated.

"Not a horse. The Stallion. Some call him Swift Wind." The bartender cocked his head again and Sea Hawk noticed a big muscular guy sitting a few stools away with the most amazing mane of auburn hair he'd ever see. He wore a gold studded white leather biker jacket with a set of rainbow wings across the back. He saw Sea Hawk looking and winked lecherously. "You two would probably get along great. He never misses karaoke night. Not to mention...” He leaned down conspiratorially. “...they call him The Stallion because he's hung like a horse."

Realllllly? Interesting. Sea Hawk grinned at the man who tossed his mane over his shoulder flirtatiously in a way that cried ADVENTURE. Sea Hawk’s mind was made up. He grabbed his drink and rose to go see how this Swift Wind fellow felt about playing with fire.

Perhaps getting over Mermista wouldn't be that hard after all.
