Hey I'm not a swiftie i just enjoy discourse so I have to say

1. You're straw-manning, like who are you actually talking about when you post those photos bc those are all separate Twitter accounts. Swifties are not a monolith

2. "I just feel very sane" quote is from no later than 2012. So 12+ years ago. A lot can change in that time, for all we know she's in therapy twice a week now.

3. As a person with chronic depression/anxiety... it's tough. It can be tough for a partner to deal with. No one is entitled to someone staying with them.

Having said all that I do think swifties need to chill out, leave Joe alone. 2 things can be true at once. Taylor is entitled to her feelings and is allowed to express them... But there's 2 sides to every story.

Like what I'm trying to say is there is nuance. Swifties want to delude themselves into thinking Joe is evil and Taylor is a martyr based on 0 evidence? (Because.... songs are NOT evidence.) Even after Taylor stated clearly "there is no score left to settle", many of the wounds "turned out to be self-inflicted"?

Let's not roll in the mud with them in response. This isn't an argument worth having because it's predicated on the idea we know anything about what goes down in taylor swift's private life period.

So Joe is a bad partner for being depressed but Taylor’s not a bad partner for cheating with Matty Fucking Healy because “we don’t know what their situation was.”

They accuse joe alwyn of refusing to get help for his mental health issues- how THE FUCK do they know he didn’t try to get help? Mind you their fave literally refuses to go to therapy because she says “I just feel very sane.”

Let’s not even get into the double fucking standards of how they acted when they thought Joe was cheating.

i only ever liked her because of her songs. when i was younger, i thought she was a mildy decent person (as far as how much decent a celebrity can be) but her actions for the past five years or so ruined it for me. i never liked being associated with her fandom as a whole bc that bunch is a pain in the ass. i still like her work. it’s not bad, just regular to any other artists. but her actions make even my favorite songs sound somewhat bitter nowadays.

I think that's my takeaway, as well. I find her to be just sort of bland and basic when compared to other artists, like off brand paper towels. I just don't get the hype.
