bbrae week 2022 | day three | formal/ballroom
title: dancing in the dark rating: M/Mature word count: 5,410 ao3 | ffn
SUMMARY: Of all the things not to do at your friends’ engagement party, Raven figured hooking up with your other friend in a broom closet was probably near the top of the list.
**IMPORTANT NOTE** - Today’s submission features mature content. Please do not click the read more if you are uncomfortable with sexual content. If you are okay with it being referenced but would prefer a lack of detail, you can stop reading where Gar says “I’m game” and resume reading where he says “So...how about that?” for a sort of fade-to-black effect.
The characters are, of course, aged-up.
It was becoming exceedingly difficult to catch him alone. Not that that had been Raven's plan for the night – her strategy, for the past six months at least, had been strictly avoidance. They were still friends, she thought. They were definitely still teammates. They got the job done and done well enough that – despite all his skeptical glances in their direction – Dick had never pulled them aside for mediation. She didn't hate Gar. And she knew from the pangs of embarrassment that rolled off him whenever she was near that he didn't hate her either.
But what did that count for? It was easy not to hate someone. Everything else was much cloudier.
Right now, she was watching him from a dark corner of the hotel ballroom Dick and Kori (or, rather, one Mr. Wayne) had rented for their engagement shower. In the years that followed what the Titans had reverently termed “the Terra situation,” Gar had thrown himself headlong into philanthropy. It was the only thing that gave his life meaning, by his own admission. The rest of the team had to make a pretty concerted effort to pretend that this pronouncement hadn't stung – wasn't the power of friendship good enough anymore? – but Raven saw through it. It was challenging to hide these sorts of things from an empath. He loved them all very much. He loved her–
But she couldn’t think about that now.
At the present moment his reputation for community service found him surrounded by a gaggle of beautiful women who were competing with one another for his attention. Azar, who were these people? If they'd scored an invite to a private soiree in honor of the Boy Wonder, they had to be personalities of some sort. Journalists? Artists? Models, probably. Raven suppressed a snort. Go figure; Gar attracted bombshells everywhere he turned.
She cringed at herself, her grip on her champagne flute tightening. Just because these women were confident and outgoing enough to flirt openly with the man she’d fumbled didn't mean they were worthy of her disdain.
It also didn't mean she had to like watching it.
The cocktail waitress swung by as if on cue, prompting Raven to pluck a new flute from the tray. She felt absurd doing it. She'd seen this sort of thing in films, but it felt comically out-of-place here in Jump City. This whole ordeal was ridiculously lavish.
"Cheers," she slurred to herself, "to glass number whatever."
It was probably a good time to admit to herself that she was getting drunk.
She scanned the room quickly: black-tiled floor and walls; a disco-ball right out of MTV's My Super Sweet Sixteen; not one open bar, but three, on top of the circulating cocktail servers; a live band that wasn't really encouraging anyone to dance but wasn't exactly keeping everyone glued to their seats, either; and, at the center of it all, Dick, his arm wrapped protectively around Kori's waist, her slinky pink dress glittering beneath the disco light, the two of them smiling into one another's faces as though nothing else mattered.
She felt a pang of affection for her friends and a stab of something else, too. She couldn't delve into that just yet. And, god, how was her glass already empty…?
Regretfully, she emerged from her dark corner and traversed the pulsing crowd in search of another drink. She found Vic, instead, crashing absentmindedly into his hulking metal form.
"Ow," she proclaimed, rubbing her forehead where it had collided with his robotic arm. "Watch where you're going, Tin Man." She scowled up at him, but a small smile tinged her features.
"I beg your pardon, Your Creepiness," Victor teased in return. He paused to take in the sight of her, hiccupping and stumbling, routinely adjusting the slipping neckline of the dress she hadn't cared enough to have tailored. Vic grinned. "My god, Rae, are you wasted?"
"Mind your business," she said flatly, edging past him into the crowd, trying to locate the nearest bar. "Not a good idea, Raven!" the cyborg called after her, and she wanted to laugh at the absurdity of Victor talking her down from ordering another drink. Garfield being the cool and collected one chatting up Nobel laureates (or something), while she was the hot mess on the brink of vomiting. Life was cruel. And hilarious.
But the sober part of her brain knew Vic was right, and by the time she reached the bar, she had somehow gained enough clarity to ask for "Just a water, please." As she gulped down one glass, then another, she challenged herself to keep her gaze trained on the bar-top, her fingernails, the floor – anywhere but in his direction. A bustling party certainly wasn't the ideal setting for meditation, but she'd do what she had to do.
The night waned around her. As guilty as she may have felt for not participating in the festivities more actively, she’d have felt even more guilty if she made a drunken spectacle of herself on Kori’s special night – so sobering up it was.
When she was sober enough to watch the strobe lights without reeling, she rose from the table and began searching the crowd. There. In his understated white button-down/grey trouser combo. Alone, somehow. Staring down at his cellphone in what he probably hoped was a preoccupied way but really just came off as bored and desperate. Had his adoring fans tired of him when they realized his primary interests were video games, comic books, and tofu-based recipes? No matter. He was wide open now. She was going in.
She sidled up to him as casually as she could manage, immediately cursing herself for not bringing a drink along, if only for decorative purposes. Her hands were painfully idle. She didn't know if he'd even noticed her arrival at first, but then he put his phone away and sighed.
"How is it only ten o’clock?" he mused aloud – not necessarily directed at her, but as good an opening as she was going to get.
"How indeed," she replied in what she hoped was as Raven-y a voice as possible. God, how effortlessly he disarmed her.
He glanced over at her then. He was smirking, but it was missing much of his usual mirth. Such were many of their interactions these days.
"What," he said, "you mean to tell me you haven't been having a good time tonight, Raven?"
Something about his expression told her he'd borne witness to her little bout of drunkenness. She flushed.
"If I resort to drinking to survive a function, you know it's especially bad," she said sourly. But neither of them mentioned the real reason she'd been drinking, the truth that hung between them like an electric current.
"Come on," Gar managed to say mildly, "be a good sport for Dick and Kori," but it was hollow; there was nothing behind it. Everything that was being said between them in this moment existed somewhere in the space between words. All at once, Raven felt dizzy again. She steeled herself.
"Garfield," she said, but it was barely a whisper. "Gar," she tried again. His name was so heavy in her mouth. She couldn't stomach it, she couldn't breathe–
"Raven?"
Garfield's hand on her shoulder, cool like stone. He was steadying her. She'd been swaying. She jolted back to life, took a step backward as though his touch would destroy her. It still might. She forced herself to meet his eyes, wide with concern.
"Can we talk?" she managed, hating how uncharacteristically desperate she sounded, hating how pivotal this moment was. She was metaphorically on her knees, and Gar was going to be the voice of reason, and she was disoriented by this role reversal; she felt as though her entire life had been swung on its axis.
Gar’s expression betrayed skepticism. "Rae,” he said quietly, "I…I don't know if now is really the best time. I mean, we're at our friends' engagement party. We should probably—"
"Please," she interrupted. "Just a talk. That's all I'm asking for."
He grimaced pensively, then shrugged. "Where?" he asked in surrender.
"The rooftop?" Raven suggested, then, thinking that might sound a bit too corny and romantic, "The sidewalk?"
But the rooftop was apparently off-limits, and the sidewalk was icy-slick and packed with people clamoring for an opportunity to speak with a Titan. As they hurriedly ducked back inside, Raven muttered, "You're too famous for your own good."
"I'm only as famous as the rest of you," Garfield replied.
"People like you better. They only know me as the demon-chick who almost caused the apocalypse."
He didn't respond to that, but she could sense his smile.
They made their way in silence down a long corridor, around a bend and then another, passing rooms with Do Not Disturb signs hanging on the knobs and piles of empty room-service trays. Raven was hoping they'd find a patio at the end, far away from the commotion of the party. She couldn't risk letting anyone else's emotions meddle with her mindset right now.
Gar cleared his throat. "Hey, uhh...Rae?"
She shot him a glance.
"I was just thinking, ah, we could've been...talking this whole time," he said, shrugging sheepishly.
Raven shook her head curtly. She needed to get him alone. She couldn't say what she needed to say unless they had privacy.
"Then...where–" Gar began.
Without thinking, Raven seized Gar's arm and phased through the closest door. When her portal disappeared, they were standing in a relatively spacious storage closet. It was filled with all the folding chairs and buffet tables that weren't currently in use for the Anders-Grayson affair. Azar, they're capable of hosting events bigger than a superhero engagement party? Remind me never to come here again.
Gar was staring at Raven somewhat warily. She levitated one of the folding chairs to the door, lodging the doorknob to prevent them from being interrupted, and waited for him to speak.
"Ooooo...kay," he said finally. "Raven, you're acting kind of weird. What's going on?"
She narrowed her eyes. "We're acting weird," she modified.
"Uh...what?"
She gestured vaguely between them. "We can hardly stand to be around one another anymore," she said, screwing her eyes closed against the sting of the words. "Ever since…"
He said nothing. Raven swallowed against the burgeoning lump in her throat but didn't reopen her eyes. "I was afraid, Gar. I'm still afraid, but I–”
"But you what?" he interrupted, his voice a hoarse whisper. There was a pregnant pause. Garfield snorted. "I gotta say, Raven, your timing really couldn't be worse."
"I know," she said. She dropped her hands to her sides, flexing them as though preparing for a fight – one she knew she couldn't win. Nonetheless, she looked at him pleadingly. "Do you think I don't know that?" She swallowed again. "I'm suffocating here tonight."
"I don't know what you want me to do about that," Garfield said bitterly. She hadn't heard this tone of voice from him in a long time. It was almost, almost comical that their roles were so subverted: here she was baring her heart to him, searching for any emotion besides anger and hurt behind his stony expression. But really it wasn’t funny at all.
"Hear me out," she said.
"I'm waiting." Garfield splayed his hands. Exasperated, he took a seat atop a nearby box. Raven suddenly felt something akin to stage fright. She took in a shuddering breath and began.
"Months ago, you came to me. You wanted to talk. We were close, then. Closer than we'd ever been before. Nearing inseparable. And then you told me–"
"I remember," Gar interjected. "I'm not as simple as you seem to think."
"I don't think you're simple," she replied earnestly. She gathered her thoughts. "I don't know what I was expecting that night on our walk, Gar. Anything but what I got."
"Sorry for the inconvenience."
"Yes, me too. I mean…" Raven's gut twisted in protest. "When you told me you loved me, I panicked. Not because I didn't already know it–" Gar's eyes flashed up at this, “but because I thought...maybe I'd read you wrong. Or...or that maybe you were mistaken about your feelings. That it'd pass. Or that...maybe you'd know better than to want to get involved with someone like me."
"We were already kind of involved, Rae," Gar retorted, but she could see his stony resolve slipping.
"Yes," Raven whispered. She remembered, against her will, those moments they toed the line: brushing hands, sharing food, divulging secrets. When she'd known he loved her, and at the same time, was sure it was a lie. When she, to sate her own curiosity, began giving away little pieces of herself to him. That night before the last night, when they’d wound up tangled up in her sheets, when she’d woken and he was still there, drooling on her pillow. When he finally looked her in the eyes and told her plainly, and the world came crashing down around her because she understood. She understood that she loved him too, that she'd pressed too far, and she couldn't set things right anymore.
At that time, she hadn't realized that right was wherever they were together.
Garfield regarded her semi-quizzically. "What are you getting at, Raven?"
Raven’s self-control had been commendable in recent years. She no longer disrupted her environment at the slightest annoyance. She could smile or laugh along at a joke without any lightbulbs bursting overhead. But, as the room began trembling around the two of them, it occurred to her that she was not — could not possibly have been – prepared for this moment.
She stared back at him through a film of tears. “What do you think I’m getting at?”
“I’m not an empath or a mind-reader, Rae,” Gar answered, but his voice was shaky, too, and the words were not as barbed as they might have been.
Raven maintained eye contact as she nodded. “You’re going to make me say it.”
“I think I’m owed that much,” Gar replied, rising from his seat.
“Yes,” Raven conceded. She wiped at her eyes with the heels of her hands, then steeled herself. Gar took a tentative step forward. Raven met his gaze. “I love you, Gar.” Her heart leapt into her throat; she pressed onward. “I do. I love you. And I have loved you for a very, very long time, and I am sorry that I could not be honest with you…or with myself, sooner.”
The trembling around them worsened. They both ignored it, Gar slowly closing the distance between them as Raven continued.
“I loved you when the world was ending,” she breathed. “I loved you when your heart was breaking. I loved you that stupid night and every night since and I love you…now. I love you right n–”
A few crates caved under the weight of Raven’s magic as Gar pressed his lips to hers, one hand on each side of her face. He broke away momentarily. “Don’t lie to me.” Another kiss. “Tell me you mean it, Rae. Please.”
“I mean it,” she swore. “I promise, I promise, I mean it.” Her tears were overflowing. Overhead, a dim lightbulb flickered threateningly.
“Shhhhhh,” Gar soothed as he shielded her head with one hand instinctively, “I believe you. Okay, okay.”
“Kiss me again,” she pleaded.
Gar pressed his forehead to hers, smiling slightly. “Can you handle it?” he asked.
“If you love me too and everything is okay then yes, yes I can handle it,” Raven said in a matter-of-fact tone, some of her usual resolve returning to her voice. As if to prove it, she closed her eyes and inhaled sharply, waiting until the clattering objects had settled around them before she exhaled. “See? I’m in control.”
“Yes, love,” Gar answered, stroking her cheek with one thumb. Without waiting for her reply, he dipped his head down again, kissing her tenderly at first, then with more urgency. Raven felt herself melting, stifling a moan as Gar moved to kiss the corner of her mouth, then her jawline, then her neck.
“Let’s go find a room,” she whispered. “They can’t be using all of them.”
Gar froze, pulling back to look at her. “A room?”
“Yes,” Raven said, suddenly self-conscious. “I just thought…I mean, I…want you.”
Gar chuckled huskily. “Raven, baby, I want you, too. Believe me,” he assured her, clasping her waist tightly. “It just doesn’t seem appropriate. Tonight’s about Dick and Kori, remember? Plus, your emotions are high right now. I don’t want you to rush into anything–”
“I’ve waited six months,” Raven interrupted, pulling him closer to her. “There’s nothing rushed about it.”
Gar hesitated. “I don’t know, Rae,” he demurred. “It still doesn’t seem fair. It’s an engagement party.”
“Thanks, I got that the first couple of times,” Raven said sarcastically, and for a moment they were their old selves again – she rolling her hooded violet eyes, he grinning that sharp-toothed grin in response. “And this is Dick and Kori we’re talking about. They’re probably sneaking out to feel each other up in the backseat of a car as we speak.”
Gar’s brows lifted in appraisal. “You make a fine point,” he said. “But in that scenario, they’ve got a car. There’s not really an inconspicuous way for two superheroes like ourselves to book a hotel room on a night like tonight.”
Raven’s brow furrowed. “Damn.”
Gar chuckled again and pressed a kiss to her forehead. “It’s okay, beautiful,” he whispered to her. “When I get you home tonight, we’ll have all the time in the–”
“No.” Raven’s fingers found his belt buckle, and Gar’s eyes widened slightly.
“What do you mean, no?” he replied, but he made no move to remove her hand.
“I mean I can’t wait that long,” she said. She began undoing the belt as she spoke, feeling his desire wash over her in waves. “So either you can take me right here…” Gar moaned under his breath. “...and we can go back out there when we’re finished and be the Boy Scouts you think we should be. Or,” she finished undoing his belt and discarded it in a wash of black energy, “we can go home, right now, so you can fuck me on your bed like you so clearly want to, and we’ll forever be known as the two assholes who ditched their friends’ entire engagement shower to go have sex.”
When Gar had recovered enough to speak, he said, “You drive a hard bargain, Raven.” He reached out gently, then quickly pressed her up against the nearest wall. “I’m game,” he breathed before their lips connected and he hoisted her up to straddle him.
Raven dug her nails into Gar’s shoulders as their tongues met. His own hands were helping him to hold her up by her thighs, one gradually creeping up to fondle her ass. He began kneading the soft skin there, prompting Raven’s hips to buck involuntarily. As he broke away to devote his attention to the pale expanse of her throat, Raven bit her lip and tried her damndest to keep up her side of the bargain; another exploding piece of furniture or light fixture might feasibly ruin the moment.
Gar wasn’t making her job easy, though. The kisses he peppered her neck and collarbone with soon became fervent, and she yelped as he took her skin between his teeth, biting down gently.
“Yes,” she said, and it was more than an affirmation – it was a plea.
Gar grunted in response, reaching up to paw at the straps of Raven’s little black dress. She was braless, and as the dress slid down to reveal her pretty pale breasts, Gar could scarcely suppress his wonder. He laid his free hand gently on her waist and pressed his groin into hers to prevent her from sliding down the wall, then leaned forward to capture her rosebud nipple in his mouth. Raven moaned, twisting the fingers of one hand into his mess of tousled green hair as he teased her with his tongue. Gar shifted his attention to her other breast, relishing in Raven’s little noises of approval.
Then, abruptly, he dropped to his knees, resting Raven’s thighs on his shoulders and cupping her ass with both hands; she remained propped in the air, her back flush against the wall. Gar tore her underwear away with his teeth, a bit animalistically (though, to his credit, they were flimsy to begin with). “Oh,” Raven said softly as she felt his lips nearing her.
His eyes, heavy-lidded with desire, flicked upward to meet her gaze. “Problem?” he teased.
“No,” Raven managed, but the truth was that – even the last time (the only time) they had hooked up – they hadn’t done this. She didn’t trust herself not to fall apart in the process. Gar raised his brows, and she could tell he was smirking even though his mouth was partially obscured. “I’ve never done this,” she admitted. “I really want it.”
“I should’ve done it last time,” Gar said, sounding sincerely apologetic. Then, without further warning, he reached out and pressed his tongue flat against her, dragging it slowly, tantalizingly upwards. When he reached her clit, he used the point of his tongue to circle it, and she nearly choked on the gasp trying to escape her throat. “Mmm,” Gar moaned against her, and he began passionately kissing her there, his tongue and lips enveloping her in warmth.
“Fuck!” she shouted, and instead of warning her to quiet down (which he probably should have done), Gar picked up his speed, sucking gently on her clit and licking her wildly in alternation. “God, Gar. God, Gar,” Raven panted, one hand bracing herself against the wall while the other tightened in his hair. His tongue began a rapid back-and-forth over her clit, and she hissed through her teeth as she began tapping the top of his head urgently. “Stop, you have to stop, I’m already close.”
Gar only laughed, the vibrations causing her eyes to roll back into her head. “I mean it,” she begged him. “I can’t finish now. I want you to – god! – I want you to fuck me. I want–”
“Let go,” he told her in a low tone. “I’ll still fuck you after. I’ll fuck you until you shake all over.”
Raven bit her lip to keep from crying out as Gar resumed his work in earnest. She felt several of the tables and chairs around them being enveloped by her magic, but that was, frankly, the least of her concerns. Using one hand to maintain her position, she clamped the other over her mouth, moaning freely into it as Gar’s tongue worked her ever closer to the edge.
Gar shifted down slightly, never breaking contact, then slid his tongue inside her, reaching up to tease her clit with his fingers. Raven writhed beneath him, feeling his tongue thrust in and out of her, and all she could think about was how badly she wanted him. Raven stifled a scream as Gar brought her to her first orgasm of the night, and the tables that had been struggling against her magic finally surrendered and clattered to the ground. Neither of them flinched.
“So,” Gar said finally, releasing Raven with a self-satisfied grin, “how about that?”
Her feet were back on solid ground, but her legs were nearly too shaky to support her. “Yes,” she said weakly, one hand still on the wall to help stabilize herself.
Gar laughed, reaching out to touch her, but Raven stepped away. “No,” she said firmly.
“No?” Gar repeated, his tone colored by confusion.
“We made a mess, Garfield,” Raven said, a bit sullenly. For the first time, they turned to survey the damage – a few busted crates, a slew of toppled tables and chairs – and Gar shrugged.
“So we’ll clean it up like good citizens when we’re done,” he said, sliding a hand down to grip her thigh. “I’m not through with y–”
“They’re already coming to investigate the noise,” Raven cut him off, crossing her arms. “I can sense them. So it looks like part two will have to be postponed.” At the onset of Gar’s pout, Raven held up a hand to stop him. “Don’t give me that, Gar. I asked you to and you didn’t, so now you have to wait.”
Gar pulled back, his eyes wide but lit with humor. “So now your explodey powers are all my fault?”
“Well, they usually are,” Raven muttered.
Gar ignored this, reminding her, “You said you could handle it.” As he said this, he leaned forward to kiss her softly.
“I said I could handle…the usual,” she said after they broke away. “Not…whatever that was.”
“Are you saying you didn’t like it?” Gar challenged. “Because I think the evidence begs to differ.”
“Of course I liked it, you idi–”
They were interrupted by a metallic clank at the door. “Raven? You in there?” a voice called.
“It’s Vic,” Raven said, then, “Shit. Hotel staff I could’ve handled. Vic’s going to be much harder to lie to.”
“Let me handle Cy,” Gar said, making for the door, but Raven caught him by the elbow.
“Um…”
“What?” Gar demanded.
Raven shot him an exasperated look. “Your face smells like sex,” she said plainly. “You can’t just walk up to Cyborg and give a convincing excuse that way.” Victor knocked again. “Morph into something tiny and run to the nearest bathroom when I open the door,” Raven instructed Gar. Obligingly, he shifted into a fly and hovered near her in anticipation.
As she approached the door, Raven adjusted her crumpled dress, replacing the straps and quickly running her fingers through her hair to create what she hoped was a convincing, totally-not-bedhead sort of arrangement. When she opened the door, Vic’s back was to her, and Gar took the opening to escape down the corridor.
“Vic?” Raven said, and her teammate turned to face her, wearing a puzzled expression.
“Oh, Rae, there you are,” he said, peering behind her into the storage closet. “Uh…I don’t wanna pry, but is everything okay?”
Raven closed the door behind her, stepping out into the hallway. So much for her and Gar’s solemn vow to pick up after themselves. “Um…yes,” Raven said in reply to Vic. She knew she was probably flushed, and averted her gaze in embarrassment as she continued. “Why?”
“The front desk staff heard a loud crash from down here and when they came to check it out they saw…you know, all your creepy crawly dark magic seeping out from under the door,” Vic explained as gently as he could. “I told them I’d handle it. Just wanted to make sure you were good.”
Raven winced slightly. “Ugh, that’s embarrassing,” she managed finally. “Yes, I…I’m okay. Just a little…overwhelmed tonight.” She looked up at Victor. “And the alcohol didn’t help, I guess.”
Vic looked over his shoulder, then said in a conspiratorial tone, “This wouldn’t happen to be about BB, would it?”
Raven blanched but tried to maintain her composure. “Why would it be about Beast Boy?” she asked unconvincingly. She could feel the heat rising in her face and knew Victor could detect it, too. He wore a reluctantly smug expression.
“Uh huh,” he said. “I knew it.”
“You knew what?” Raven demanded. She desperately hoped she and Gar hadn’t been that obvious about it. Hell, when she’d pulled him aside to talk, it wasn’t even like her intentions had been sexual. She hadn’t even been sure he’d be receptive to her apology. Although, two people sneaking away from a collectively buzzed party into a hotel corridor wasn’t the most innocent-looking thing in the world to an outside observer…
“Y’all have been torn up about this for months,” Vic said, dragging her back to the present. “I mean, you’ve kept your guard up really well, I’ll give you that – and I only had BB’s side of the story, so I could only speculate about you…but I knew something was up.”
Raven paused. “Wait,” she said, “‘BB’s side of the story?’”
Vic had the decency to blush. “Well, yeah,” he said, “you know, the whole, ‘I confessed my undying love to Rae and she’s barely spoken to me since’ thing.” He offered a nervous laugh. “I’m sorry, I know it’s none of my business, but he was really devastated and that’s my best friend, you know? I gave him a shoulder to cry on, and I didn’t mean to pry beyond that, but I just thought…” He shrugged. “I’ve been watching you two. Not in a creepy way. Just…I’ve noticed you sneaking glances at one another. I’ve noticed how you never sit next to each other in the car or at the dinner table and you don’t even argue about it like you used to. It’s like y’all have a silent agreement to avoid each other.” He looked at her knowingly. “To push it down.”
Raven remained silent, then sighed, burying her face in her hands. “And here I thought I was aloof and mysterious,” she mumbled.
Vic chuckled, pulling her into a brotherly hug. “You mostly are,” he assured her. “If it hadn’t been for Gar spilling his own beans, I might never have put two and two together.”
Raven pulled back, looking up at Vic helplessly. “I love him,” she said. She’d already established as much with Gar directly, but it helped to say it out loud to someone else, someone who didn’t turn her to jelly when they looked at her.
Vic was nodding sagely. “I know, Rae,” he murmured. “And the cool part is he loves you right back.”
“It is cool,” she agreed quietly. “But…” She shook her head rapidly as if to clear her thoughts. “Am I bad for him?”
“You could never be bad for him,” Vic said, resting a large hand on her shoulder. “He takes you as you are, Rae. All of you. Even the complicated, demony parts.” They shared a small smile at this. “Just do the same for him. It’ll be okay. I promise.”
Raven smiled again. “I guess you’re right,” she conceded.
“So you’ll tell him how you feel?” Vic asked with childlike excitement. He looked about two seconds away from jumping for joy. Raven almost didn’t have the heart to break it to him.
“About that,” she said gingerly. Vic’s eyes narrowed slightly. “What if I told you that…I already have?” She shrunk back as though it would lessen the impact of her words.
Vic took a moment to process this. His gaze shifted back and forth between Raven and the closet behind her a couple times, and then, finally, landed on the blooming bruise nestled into the crook of her collarbone. “Oh, come on, Raven. Really?!”
Raven blushed once more. “Shut up Vic,” she muttered, trying to step around him.
“All this time I thought I was helping you deal with your twisty emotions, when you were actually just–”
“What’s going on, guys?” came a voice from the end of the hall. Vic and Raven turned to see Gar rounding the corner, looking as fresh as he had at the start of the evening.
“What’s going on,” Vic boomed as Gar drew closer, “is that I just found out y’all were canoodling in this storage closet–”
“Vic, keep it down!” Raven pleaded at the same time as Gar offered a sheepish, “Heh, so you heard about that, huh?”
Raven heaved an exasperated sigh. “I hadn’t admitted to anything,” she said sharply to Gar, “although I guess that’s what I get for keeping you around.”
Gar gazed adoringly at her, extending a hand. “Let’s get back to the party, shall we, angel?” He turned to Vic. “You coming, Big Guy?”
“Am I–” Vic floundered, gesturing wildly around him. “Are we just not gonna talk about this?”
“What’s there to talk about?” Gar called over his shoulder as he led Raven down the hall. “There is such a thing as TMI, you know, Vic.”
Vic sighed as Gar and Raven rounded the corner hand-in-hand, but couldn’t resist the affectionate smile that overcame him. Then, just as quickly, he was frowning again. “I…am going to soundproof both of their rooms,” he announced to no one in particular. “Yes, yes,” he affirmed as he made a beeline for the nearest bar.

Summary: Set during and after the ending of Justice League Dark Apokolips war, after succeeding to destroy the Apokolips and defeating Darkseid. The Justice League and members from the Teen Titans left to the ruins of the Titans Tower and Earth until they found a way to go back to the things were.
Damian and Raven both sat closely on a rock with Raven laying her head on his shoulder watching the sun rising up from the horizon. She breathed out and in, feeling free for the first time from her father’s hold. She knew he was pure evil, but deep inside, he loved her until the end. She looked over at Damian whose eyes were glancing over at his brother who was laying down on Kori’s lap.
She had this sad frown on her face as she held on his hand that was placed on her arm. He gasped a little and he looked into her beautiful, deep dark purple eyes. His face softened once he looked at her. And he took in her new appearance with her white cloak. He slowly took off the hood from her head and saw her long black hair flowing down out of her hood.
Damian smiled at the beautiful sight of his beloved right beside him. Her long silky hair was blowing in the wind softly and noticed her gem was missing. He looked at Raven who had smiled contently, making him realise she was free from her father thanks to Constantine who gave him a slight nod.
“So, how do you feel, beloved?” Damian asked softly as he caressed her cheek.
“I never felt so free in my life. He is finally out of my head.” Raven replied as she leaned into Damian’s gloved hand. “So, what now?”
Damian sighed heavily and looked into her eyes. “I don’t know. I could go back to the League of Assassins with Titus. If you don’t want to come with me, I do understand.”
“No, no, Damian, I’d love to. I’d love to go with you.” Raven said with a loving smile with Damian looked at her surprised to hear that she’ll go with him. To stay with him. “No matter what happens, I’ll always be with you.”
Damian just smiled and let her lean her head on his shoulder, savouring the moment between them with the sun shining in the horizon as he looked into the clear sky with a small smile as they both mourn for their fallen fellow Teen Titan friends.
From a far, Batman had seen the sweet tender moment between Damian and Raven. He sighed sadly with Diana putting a hand on his shoulder to comfort him. “There must be another way. To fix all of this.”
“But there is no other way, Bruce. We cannot change what has been done.” Diana said sadly.
“The Justice League never quits. We never quit. We can still save our planet. Even if it costs our lives.” Clark said, trying to lift up others hope as they all looked at him.
Constantine looked over at Flash who was sitting hopelessly, all alone. He went over to him with a cigarette in his hand. “You know what to do, mate.”
“I promised Iris before she…” Flash sighed heavily and looked down at the ground. “I can’t. Everything would change. Again.” He felt Constantine’s hand on his shoulder and looked up at him.
“And some of those changes may be shite and we may make same mistakes again.” Constantine said to him. “But I think I can help. Just to make some other changes.”
Flash smiled hesitantly as he stood up with the run rising. He got ready to run to make changes with Constantine chanting a spell, mumbling some words underneath his breath. He took a deep breath and looked into the sky. “I’ll see you again, love.”
He finished chanting the spell as Flash had started running into the horizon on the clear blue water with everyone on the shore watching. They all stood tall as they were ready to see those changes he had altered in a new timeline. Clark sighed softly as he watched the light shining brightly and stood with his two friends. Everyone watched the light shining brightly, hoping that everything would soon change, but it will not be the same.
Raven looked over at Damian as she looked into his eyes. Damian looked into her purple eyes and leaned in for a passionate kiss with the light shining brightly. They both held onto each other tightly and pressed their foreheads together with tears rolling down their faces knowing their universe will be forevermore erased.
Constantine had finished casting his spell and looked at the sky with him smelling the fresh air and the wind blowing his face, he had done it. He had done the right thing to do for his teammates, his friends and his love.

Damian was shifting in his bed while he heard beeping from his phone. He groaned irritated as he reached to get the phone and turned it off. He sighed lightly and went back to sleep again until he saw something wasn’t right. He got up and saw he was in a room. Filled with picture frames and some katana swords hanging on the walls. He assumed it was his room, but then he saw two luggage near the door. He raised his eyebrow in confusion until he felt a hand on his back. He turned to his right and saw Raven beside him.
“Damian, are you okay? Is something wrong?” Raven asked, caressing his cheek. Seeing how shocked he looked and how confused he was.
“Did—How—What is going on Raven?” Damian asked as he grabbed her hand.
“What do you mean?” Raven asked as she sat up covered herself with the covers as she ran her hand through her long black hair. Damian noticed she was covering most of her body and then looked at himself. His eyes widened, realizing he was naked. He quickly covered himself and cleared his throat. “Damian, you haven’t answered my question, what’s wrong? Did you have a nightmare again?”
Again? “Uh, yeah, something like that.” Damian replied reluctantly as he laid back down on his pillow. What the hell is happening here? First, we defeated Darkseid and returned to Earth, I saw the light shining brightly, me and Raven sharing our last moment. Then this happened?! What is going on? I need to talk to Constantine, wherever he is.
“Well, let me know if you start to have nightmares again, we can meditate together like last time.” Raven said as she rubbed and laid on his back, put kisses on the nape of his neck that sent him chills.
Damian saw Raven was going to get change as she got her clothes from a closet. He noticed there was a League of Assassins uniform can be found. His eyes widened in shock. “Are we in…. the League of Shadows?”
“Yes, you figured that the team could use a larger training area, so we went here.” Raven said. “You are sure acting strange. You sure you’re okay?”
“You really don’t know what has happened?” Damian asked carefully.
“Hmm, to be honest, no. But I know you’ll tell me when you are ready.” Raven smiled as she gave him a small kiss before leaving to change into her clothes.
Damian nodded slowly as he got to change while thinking of what has happened. She may not know what has happened. All he knew was that maybe Flash or Constantine had done something with their reality’s timeline. He doesn’t know if anyone could tell what has happened. He quickly got changed and got out of the kitchen and saw Titus was still sleeping with dog food beside him.
Damian walked around the room and then spotted something on the wall. Looks like a newspaper framed. He looked at it in shock as he saw the headline, made by Lois Lane, who is now alive in this new timeline.
DARKSEID HAS BEEN DEFEATED BY A TEAM OF SUPERHEROES AND SAVED PLANET EARTH
Damian ran his hand through his hair in shock and then saw another photo frame. It was him and Raven in front of the Titans tower. Both of them were smiling and noticed she was wearing her white cloak and had her long hair above her waist.
Then there was a knock on his door with Titus waking up growling. “Titus, calm down.” Damian commanded softly as he opened the door cautiously and saw his friends and teammates.
“Hey, Damian, we were wondering if training is still going?” Jaime asked.
Damian stood in shock to see his friends were alright. But it appears that they don’t seem to remember anything. Nothing at all. It’s good, right? “Uh, actually, why don’t you ask Kori? She is our leader, is she not?”
“Uh, dude, you hit your head or what? You’re our leader.” Garfield corrected with a light chuckle.
What? Kori was the leader not me, right? “Ah, right, then maybe we could have a day off. Just to be ourselves for the day.” Damian suggested.
“Wow, that is generous of you.” Jon said with a smirk. “It hasn’t been that long you’ve given us some time off.”
“Oh, spending time with your girlfriend? That’s sweet.” Donna smiled as Damian put on his rarest smiles and heard Raven was coming out in casual clothes with her hair down.
“So, no training I take it?” Raven asked with a smile as she greeted the others.
“N-no, no training today.” Damian shook his head.
“We could go to the carnival! We could go there for team bonding as a celebration of our anniversary.” Garfield suggested with a grin as he looked at Damian with a smirk that annoys him. A lot.
“What?” Damian asked in a very annoyed tone seeing his teammate was getting closer to him.
“Unless, you want to stay here with your girlfriend?” Garfield teased as he made kissing noises with Damian’s eye twitching in annoyance, but Raven held his hand to calm him down.
“Knock it off, Gar, I promised Donna and Terra that we go shopping.” Raven smiled with Damian’s eyes widened in shock.
“Wait? Terra?” Damian questioned in confusion.
“Who else would it be, team leader? Sorry, I came in late. I had to save some citizens in the city. Ready to go? Away from the boys for a change?” Terra asked with a smirk as she came to Gar’s side. Damian looked at her in shock, remembering she was supposed to be dead and that she had betrayed them. He saw how close Gar and Tara were. I thought Tara hated Beast Boy? Or maybe… So, Flash and Constantine did some few changes to this new timeline.
Raven noticed he has been acting strange and wanted to get to the bottom of this. “Yeah, I’m ready. Rachel, you ready?” Donna asked her with a smile.
“Yes, I’ll meet you at the gate. I’ll be there. I need to talk to our fearless leader for a moment.” Raven smiled as they all left them alone in their shared quarters. As the door was closed, Raven looked at Damian with a concerned look.
“Are you sure you are telling me the truth? You sure you are okay?” Raven asked him softly as she caressed both of his cheeks with Damian holding him and leaning into her touch.
“I-I will tell you soon. I just need to do something first before I go with the boys.” Damian replied. “I’m sorry. There’s something in need to take care of. I’ll come back and explain everything when I get back. I promise.”
“Okay. Don’t be late for dinner.” Raven said with a smile as they both kissed softly on the lips before leaving.
(~)
Later that day, Damian drove his motorcycle to the Wayne Manor and stopped in the front of the staircase. He got his helmet off and marched up the stairs with Alfred opening the doors. “Master Damian, how can we be of help? Is Rachel well?”
The young man sighed in relief to see Alfred was alright. Alive and well. When he left for the League of Assassin, he heard Alfred was dead. Killed by Parademons. “Master Damian?”
“I-I’m good. All good. Rachel’s alright. She’s with the girls.” Damian replied. “Where is father? I must speak with him. It’s urgent.”
“It is a coincidence I must say. He wanted to see you as well.” Alfred said to Damian who looked at him. “You know where he is.”
Damian nodded and went down to the bat cave seeing the computers was on and some papers on the table. He looked at the chair and saw his father was looking at something on the screen. He was reading the newspaper and watched the news that Lois Lane was reporting about the Apokolips.
“Father?” Damian called out to him.
“Damian? Glad you could make it. I am sure you are aware of the changes around you.” Bruce spoke up as he faced him as the young man walked down the stairs.
“Yes, I have. But Raven doesn’t seem to remember anything at all.” Damian said as he rubbed his eyes. “Then I saw all of my friends, saying I am the new leader and saw Terra alive! She was supposed to be dead!”
“I know this is all overwhelming, Damian. I did see many changes all over the world. It appears that Constantine and Flash had changed something in this timeline. Made alternate changes. The Justice League is back to normal. The Titans are alive as well.” Bruce said.
“So, where is Constantine?” Damian asked.
(~)
Somewhere in the Justice League headquarters, Constantine was smoking a cigarette thinking how he had changed their timeline. They had defeated Darkseid managed to save the Earth with the help of Flash. He couldn’t still believe it.
But again, he was happy to spend the rest of his life with the only one person he loves. Zatanna. She was back. She was back in his life and in this new changed timeline. But still he could not forgive himself for leaving her behind. He just froze, paralysed with fear. “Hey, John, you alright?” Zatanna asked worriedly.
“I am fine, love. Just relieved.” Constantine replied as he took out his cigarette.
“Oh? May I ask why you are relieved? This morning you looked shocked. Did you have a nightmare?” Zatanna asked as she rubbed his shoulders.
“Well it was hell of a nightmare, but in the end. It was all worth it when I saw your face.” Constantine replied with a smile and they both leaned in for a kiss. Everything was perfect. He had saved and brought back everyone with the Flash. And had heard they both brought back some other people in their lives again.
(~)
Raven was looking at her drink while thinking of something in her mind. Terra glanced over at the empath and sighed. “Okay, I’ll bite. What is wrong with you, Rachel? Is everything okay with Mister Muscles?”
“Hmm? My relationship with Damian is rather going well.” Rachel replied. “Nothing is wrong except he was acting weird. Like this morning.”
“Very weird. Did he tell you what was going on?” Donna asked curiously.
“He did say he’ll explain over dinner.” Raven replied as she drank her milkshake. “It’s funny. I had this strange dream last night. It was almost like we were in some kind of end of the world.”
The two girls looked at each other while Donna was explaining she has that same vibe. But can’t explain what really happened during the dream. It seemed vague. And there were some things left unclear. “Yeesh. Apokolips? Wow, does sound like the end of the world to me.” Terra said as she heard glass cup shattering from Raven, seeing her milkshake dripping. “Rachel, whoa, are you okay?”
“Yeah, I’m fine. I just felt a sharp pain in my head. Sorry.” Raven replied. “And strangely it is gone.”
Terra and Donna both raised their eyebrows in confusion until the boys texted them if they all want to go to the carnival while Damian and Raven have their dinner. “So, we have done shopping, it’s time to go the carnival for our anniversary as Teen Titans.” Donna whispered excitedly, making sure their cover aren’t really blown. Terra chuckled with Raven smiling as she got her phone in her hand, seeing her wallpaper of Damian.
(~)
Raven went back to her quarters and saw Damian was waiting for her at the dining table. She smiled a bit and approached him, greeting him with a kiss on the forehead and sat on his lap. “How are you feeling now?” Raven asked as she played with his hair.
“To be honest. I was all over the place. Or way over my head.” Damian chuckled. “But other than that, beloved, I am feeling better.”
Raven smiled and leaned in for a soft kiss on the lips then pulled away. “But you didn’t explain why you were acting weird this morning.”
Damian had a feeling she would say that. Then he had an idea. “Look inside my head.” He grabbed her hands and plant them each of his temple. “I trust you.”
Raven looked at him for a few moments and then nodded in understanding. Trusting him as she closed her eyes and looked inside his head. She could hear screams. The horrid screams from the Justice League and the rest of the Teen Titans. It looked like the end of the world as Donna had said earlier.
Everyone they ever know and loved, were all killed. The whole city was ruined. All ruined. Set in flames. All buildings were destroyed. There was death and destruction everywhere. Reminds her of Azarath. She saw herself was weak. Really weak, until she saw Damian by her side. He was smiling lovingly at her as she stared in his emerald eyes. The next thing she saw was him saving his father from Darkseid. Then she revived him and donned her white cloak after his revival. It was a warm feeling she had felt from seeing that sight. It was love. Pure true love she had felt from Damian. She felt all of his feelings he felt for her.
She opened her eyes and looked at Damian. He looked into her purple eyes after she was finished seeing what had happened when the timeline had changed. “Wow…. Damian... I don’t know what to say.”
“You don’t know have to say anything. I’m just glad you’re here. With me.” Damian smiled as he wrapped his arms around her.
“Me too. I’m glad that the two of us are together.” Raven smiled as she looked at the time and saw it was almost dinner time. She was thinking they could cook something together.
“Say, why don’t we skip dinner and join the others?” Damian asked with smirk.
Raven laughed a little with an amused smile. “Hmm, I like the sound of that.” Raven replied.

Gar was winning something for Terra but failed. He tried the game over and over again. Jaime hit him on the head. “Dude, enough! If you waste you money again, I won’t give your more to play the game.”
“And there are plenty of other games we could play.” Wally pointed out.
Gar groaned in defeat and then Terra comforted him with a kiss on cheek. “Don’t worry, chuckles. I’ll win something for you instead.”
“So, where are the lovebirds?” Wally asked.
“They said they’ll have dinner together.” Donna answered his question. “How romantic. It is so obvious that Damian has feelings for Raven from the start when I first arrived.”
“Yeah, no kidding, they have been spending way too much time together.” Jon said as he rolled his eyes. he turned to Jaime who looked at everyone. They all seem to pair up.
“We gotta get a girlfriend.” Jaime said as Jon nodded in agreement. Both were desperate for a girlfriend. Jon and Jaime felt a bit left out since everyone seemed to have a girl with them. Wally and Donna seemed to be getting well.
“Uh, you kidding? I could see it so clearly that they do have a thing for each other all this time.” Terra said with Gar putting an arm around her shoulders.
“And all of those missions together, they always get paired together.” Jaime said with a smirk. “Also, spending too much in each other’s room in the tower.”
“I thought you all do mind your business by now.” All of the titans all gasped softly when they heard their leader’s voice. They all turned around to see Damian and Raven in the carnival with them.
“Rachel! Damian! I thought you two were going out for dinner.” Donna thought as she came and hugged Raven. “You know on a date?”
“Well, Damian and I thought it would be great if all of us spend some time to celebrate our anniversary. All of us, together. We wouldn’t miss all of the fun.” Raven smiled as she held Damian’s hand.
“Oh yeah! I do what that rematch.” Garfield said with Damian shaking his head with a smile. it was good to see his friends and he saw his brother, Dick and Kori were spending time in the carnival as well. He watched his friends were shouting to find a new game to play.
He felt Raven was pulling him with her to play a game with a bright smile on her face. They all played different kinds of games. Gar and Jaime were trying to beat each other in a water gun, Donna nearly crushed a stall with her super strength. Terra just simply played a game and had won a prize for Garfield when they were trying to catch a fish in a net.
Damian and Raven just shared a cotton candy together just like when they first met. And then they walked along the path until they stumbled across the mirrors and she laughed seeing Damian’s large ass on the mirror just like before. Damian nudged her on the arm, making her see herself on the mirror having a skinny body. They both laughed while they went to see some more games to play.
Then Garfield has been begging Damian to do a rematch in the dancing match when he first arrived. Everyone cheered on Damian to dance against him until he gave up and did the dancing match with people watching and cheering on them.
Raven was smiling happily to see that Damian was having fun. Like actually having fun. Jaime and Jon were betting on Damian to win while Terra was cheering on Gar to beat their leader until he got exhausted and their leader won. “Oh, well that was brilliant.” Terra said sarcastically.
“Well, at least they are having fun.” Donna smiled.
“Or maybe Gar was just tired and let him win.” Raven smirked with Terra mumbling about something.
“So, what do we do next?” Jon asked everyone as they heard the announcer saying that the fireworks show is about to start. Everyone cheered as they all lined to the Ferris wheel to get a better view in the sky.
Garfield and Terra were sitting close together to see the stars and see the constellations up in the sky. Wally and Donna were just looking at the sky with smiles on their faces while Jaime and Jon were left behind down below.
“At least, they are all happy.” Jon said softly.
“Yeah. Let’s get ourselves some food or a drink.” Jaime sighed softly with him noticing how glum he looked and sounded.
“I thought you were going with Traci?” Jon asked with a grin.
“Shut up! She said she was spending time with her family. Besides, I don’t want her to miss out on family time.” Jaime explained.
Damian let Raven lay her head on his shoulder, watching the stars together. Before they were young awkward two teens and now, they’re together. Nothing can tear them apart. They were finally together. “Feels like old times.” Raven smiled.
“Yes, it does.” Damian said as he kissed her head and laid his head on hers. “There is something I need to ask you.”
Raven looked up at him as he seemingly looked away. “Damian, if this is about what I saw in your head. It was all in the past. We can finally move on.”
“I know. It’s… It’s about something else.” Damian said.
“Oh.”
“Well, I did ask you to join me in leading the League of Assassin during that time. You refused and I just left you. I don’t want to leave you alone. Never. I’ll stay by your side and I’ll always will, Raven.” Damian said as he held her hand.
“So, what are you saying?” Raven asked.
“I know we are still young teenagers. And legally 18 years old. All I am saying is. Raven, when I first met you. I had these overwhelming feelings for you. I tried to shake away the emotions, but I couldn’t. Over time, I never ignored it. I had fallen in love with you. Deeply.” Damian confessed with Raven smiling at him lovingly.
“So, all I was trying to say is that Raven…” Damian grabbed something in his pocket and shown her a black box. Raven gasped in shock. She had tears forming in the corner of her eyes. “Will you marry me and make me the most happiest man in this whole world? Be my beautiful bride?”
Damian looked at her lovingly as she cried and then kissed him passionately with him wrapping his arms around her. They both pulled away with Damian asking with a smile. “Is that a yes?”
“Of course, silly.” Raven replied as he put the ring on her finger. It has a red and purple crystals placed on the golden ring. It was their uniform colours. She loved it. She loved the ring. And she loves the man who she is going to spend the rest of her life with. “I love you, Damian.”
“I love you too, Raven.” Damian replied as they kissed underneath the stars and the fireworks playing in the sky. Seeing more beautiful colours with the stars twinkling as they all gasped seeing a shooting star.

Teen Titans AU Part 5
Thanks to @ozmav and @maribat-archive again!
Hiya! Me again. Here with the next update of the Teen Titans Miraculous AU. I just wanted to write a little disclaimer, there will be more sensitive and adult content here (no crazy sex scenes), but some suggestive content as well as the occasional F bomb. Also again this isn’t a super long chapter (like I explained last chapter), but a lot happens! A lot even if it doesn’t seem important is important to the plot. Read carefully my dear readers ;). Now that we’ve gotten the boring stuff out of the way, let’s read chapter 5!
V
Marinette Dupain-Cheng waited in the grocery store with her friends Damian and Jon. She was still a little shaken up after her last encounter with Lila but she coped by triple checking their shopping list. She felt a strong tap on her shoulder and she turned around as well as Jon who had his arm draped around one of her shoulders. She liked Jon, but she also liked Damian. Sometimes she felt that she didn’t have romantic love for Jon but only sibling love, like one would have for a younger brother. She wasn’t sure what attracted her to Damian, he was brash and rude most of the times, although he could also be sweet to her and his smile lit up her world. Marinette snapped out of her thoughts when she realized who was standing before her, Adrien Agreste. Adrien was her first crush but she got over it quickly when he was content to let Lila keep lying. She said a brief “hello” and he blabbed on to her and she tried to tune him out, shooting down his advances and his questions if she would leave with him, until he said it, the word the changes everything. She was shocked when he called her princess. She noticed all the signs at once and the world swirled around her until she was back at Master Fu’s. She told him sobbing about what Chat Noir, no- Adrien had almost done to her. She realized she was clinging to Damian for dear life and realized that she wasn’t at Master Fu’s and she had rambled about what Chat Noir did to some of the Titans team. She took in his scent as he asked her questions, she answered them all diligently still caught up in her new revelation and intoxicated by Damian’s warmth. She felt sad as Damian put her down and she found herself flashing back to Adrien, she turned to Damian but he stomped off. Jon picked her up and she nuzzled into his shoulder, pretending he was Damian. Jon took her to her room and lay her on her bed. As he was about to leave she started to panic, what if Adrien finds me here? “Will you stay please?” Marinette asked Jon. He nodded and sat on the chair near her bed. She felt safe and relaxed and drifted to sleep.
“CATACLYSM!” Marinette woke up with a start hoping that Chat Noir’s signature phrase was part of a dream she couldn’t remember, but she wasn’t that lucky. Chat Noir pried her off her bed and held her in his arms, they weren’t warm like Damian’s, or loving like Jon’s. Only possessive, Marinette thrashed in his arms but before she could scream Chat put a hand over her mouth and dug his claws into her arm. She felt the blood drip out. She let out a small whimper but Chat’s hand blocked the noise. He slid his baton out of the broken window and jumped out still clutching Marinette in his arms.
Marinette had passed out. She woke up in what looked like a warehouse, she had been tied up. She tried to scream but it was all muffled because of the duct tape Chat had placed on her mouth. Then the dreaded cat himself appeared. He crept to Marinette and pressed a kiss on her forehead, “Sorry purrincess, but I can’t have you screaming. Well not unless you’re screaming my name. Speaking of which, maybe we should finish our conversation from earlier.” He grabbed her hair and pulled himself to her lips, she pushed him off by head butting him before he could kiss her. He looked at her with annoyment, “is that anyway to treat me?! I’m your savior, I’m the savior of Paris! Without me you’d be dead!” Marinette shook her head “no”. Chat inched closer, “you know I’m starting to think you moved here to get away from me…” he said, clearly expecting her to nod “no” again and beg for him to kiss her. Marinette shook her head yes and Chat gripped her body, “excuse me?” He put a finger on her chin and ripped off the duct tape on her mouth. She began to scream as loud as she could but Chat silenced her by pulling her in for a kiss. Marinette tried to get him off her but it was hopeless, until she heard him, the boy she prayed would find her.
“Get your fucking hands off her.” Spat Robin kicking Chat Noir’s head. Chat retaliated by throwing his baton at Robin’s head, however the boy wonder merely dodged it and went at Chat a second time. Marinette heard a loud boom and suddenly the rest of her team was there. Jon and Raven ran over to her and began undoing the rope that bound her. “Go run! Find a place to transform, I’m not sure we can handle Chat without Ladybug.” Jon whispered in her ear. Marinette ran as fast as she could to the nearest stack of materials that would shelter her while she transformed. Chat didn’t know her identity so he had left the clutch that she kept Tikki in on her shoulder. Marinette opened it to see a crying Tikki, “I wish I could’ve done something Marinette.” Marinette shook her head and sniffed, “you couldn’t put my identity in jeopardy, I know that Tikki. I know if you weren’t confident I would be saved you would’ve saved me,” Marinette gave her kwami a weak smile, “now Tikki spots on!”
Even though they were a team of superheroes against one brat with a ring, they found Chat dodging most of their attacks and his suit absorbing energy blasts. Terra tried to keep him at bay with large rocks but she couldn’t do much without bringing the building down. Superboy tried to attack him but he was off of his game because of his anger. Robin seemed to be doing the most damage, that is until Ladybug showed up. Ladybug pulled Chat with her yo-yo. “Milady?” Chat asked, “I thought your miraculous was retired after we defeated Hawkmoth.” Ladybug glared at him, “No! But yours should’ve been! How do you still have the cat miraculous Adrien?!” Chat’s eyes widened at the use of his real name but he regained his cocky composure. “Master Fu tried to take it from me,” he sneered, “Well let’s just say I finally found out what a cataclysm does to a person.” Ladybug stood in shock before punching him in the face, “What the hell?! You’re not worthy of the cat miraculous, give it back without a fight or I will not hesitate to take it from you by force!!” Chat chuckled at his lady, “No can do bugaboo.” He then saw the empty chair where Marinette had been sitting, he glared at Ladybug then at the rest of the Titans who were prepared to strike of Ladybug’s command, “Where is my Marinette?! What did you do to my girl?!” Robin lunged before Raven held him back, “she’s not yours!” Ladybug stared into Chat’s eyes, she saw Adrien’s eyes. The eyes of the man she once thought she loved, “She’s safe somewhere you’ll never find her.” Ladybug lunged for the cat miraculous while Adrien was distracted and shoved it off his finger. “NO!” Adrien screamed as he detransformed. He turned to attack Ladybug but when he realized he couldn’t, he turned to run, until he saw the Titans blocking him. Suddenly a man in black and orange dropped from the ceiling and picked up the blonde model, “Sorry Titans, but you’re not getting Goldilocks today.” Deathstroke said before seemingly disappearing. “How-What?! Deathstroke cant disappear!!!” Blue Beetle said puzzled. Beast Boy stood shocked. Ladybug cursed, the team was supposed to catch him! This was supposed to be it! Why wasn’t this done already?! “What happens now?” Raven asked.
Slade Wison walked arm in arm with the blonde model, “No need to thank me Boy.” He said to Adrien, “But I do have a deal for you. How would you like your miraculous and your little blue haired girl back?”

Fair Winds and a Following Sky - Part 5
Ulrikagatan 20, Östermalm, Stockholm, 20 July
“What about my stuff?” Anna slurred. She stepped out of the lift and into the broad, carpeted hallway, one foot before another, under the guidance of Ansgar’s hands on her shoulders. “My stuff’s still... at the... the...” she yawned, pointing vaguely, “at the... whassa called?”
“The hostel?” Ansgar chuckled, shuddering in mock disgust. “Not quite my first choice of accommodations. But don’t worry, darling,” he said, patting her amiably, “I’ve sent my driver to retrieve the rest of your things from that... place. Believe me, you’ll be much more comfortable here.”
“Mmkay,” she nodded absently. Ansgar turned her, guiding her to rest against the wall. For a moment, she relaxed, eyes closed, head back, but only for a moment -- as the impact of Ansgar’s words washed over her muzzy mind. Her eyes flew open. “Wait,” she breathed.
“Wait what?” Ansgar smirked, brushing a lock of hair from her face.
“Your... driver?”
“Yes, my driver.” The smirk broadened, a satisfied mirth reaching Ansgar’s blue eyes. “Is there some sort of problem with that?”
“No, oh no,” Anna shook her head. “Not a problem at all. It’s just you know... kind of unexpected.” She pushed herself away from the wall and stood, swaying slightly, beside Ansgar. “Last time I saw you you were driving your own ass in a rusty beat up old Bronco.”
“That is, when it would vouchsafe to start for me,” he quipped. “Yes, I think you’ll find quite a few unexpected things about me, darling.” He winked. As Anna watched, he worked his fingers over the keypad. The mechanism clicked, and the door opened slowly with a soft hiss. “Here we are,” he said. ”After you.”
“And where...” she yawned. “Oh, pardon me. Where... where are we, exactly?”
“My flat.” He pushed the door open and gave a mock bow, gesturing her inside. “Mi casa es tu casa.”
Nowhere, Oklahoma. Two Years Ago
She pushed open the large oval-windowed door. “Powder room’s just to the right, in there, parlor’s to the left, office just beyond,” she pointed, “kitchen, mudroom and mudroom shower in the back. The upstairs is off limits, got it? See? Es mi casa - no es su casa.” She pointed to herself, and then to him, emphasizing her point.
He nodded, knuckling the brim of his baseball hat in salute. “Off limits. Yes, ma’am,” he replied heartily.
“I lock the upstairs door at night. With a deadbolt.” She tipped her head up, glaring straight into his eyes.
He blinked once, slowly. “That’s understandable.”
“Got a gun, too. Smith & Wesson 500,” she challenged, “and I’m damm good at using it.”
“Choice piece, that one.” He curled his lips downward and eyebrow upward, impressed. “I would expect nothing less.”
“Go on in, then.”
He stepped confidently inside, boots echoing on the hickory plank floor. He inhaled, taking in the unfamiliar yet welcoming bouquet of hay, cumin, cedar, and rosewater. “You’ve a beautiful home.”
And beautiful it was, even to his Swedish architectural sensibilities. Bright and cheery, open-planned, practical and airy; high walls and arched ceilings painted in pale, southwestern colors - terra-cotta, delft and gold. The furniture was sparse but clean-lined and neatly kept, older by some standards, but not weathered or overly worn.
He looked up, smiling a little in appreciation of the intricate craftsmanship of the banister, when he was interrupted by a harsh poke on his shoulder. “Hat off,” she demanded. “I’ve got rules in this house. You work for me, you behave like a gentleman ‘round here.”
He chuckled inwardly, looking down and away to hide the sardonic, knowing smirk creeping across his face. “Ma’am.” He pulled the cap from his head and ran his hand through his hair, holding his hat by the brim in front of his waist, all prim-and-proper like. “I swear to be on my best.”
“I mean it,” she pointed a warning finger at him. “One slip and I’ll kick you out on your keester, Mister.”
“I understand perfectly,” he replied equably. “There will be no need of any such keester kicking.”
She peered, slit-eyed and suspicious at him for a long moment. “You sure you wanna stay here? Do this work and all?”
“I do,” he affirmed. “Why do you ask?”
“You just...,” she shook her head, “you just sound so... so... educated. I suppose it’s sorta hard to believe you’re... you’re....” she gestured vaguely.
“A drifter?” he replied, scratching at the scraggle of his beard.
“Well, I was going to say a carpenter, but... that too, I suppose.” She shrugged. “Just so long as you’re not some crazy ass.”
“I assure you, I am a carpenter.” He smiled. “I also assure you that I am not insane, not some axe-murderer, and not a criminal. I won’t hurt you, I simply want to work for a time.”
“But... where are you from?”
“I’m not from around here,” he winked. “I think that’s pretty obvious.”
“Well, yeah, you do talk funny,” she chuckled. “But... I kinda like it.”
“Oh? Well, I’m glad to hear it,” he drawled, chewing his bottom lip, eyes narrowed. “I enjoy hearing you speak as well. Your voice is as lovely as you are.”
“Uh...,” she breathed, and a beautiful crimson blush crept up from her chest to suffuse the bronze skin of her cheeks. “I’ll just...” Flustered, she crossed to the fireplace and rummaged in a cedar chest beside it, coming up with a folded sheet, a limp pillow, and a gray and white woven blanket. Holding these almost protectively against her chest she tipped her chin toward the tan leather couch. “You’ll sleep there,” she clipped. “I’m up at four, so I expect y’all do the same. Lights out at ten, no later, y’hear? And I won’t abide y’all keepin’ me up at night.”
Again, he nodded. “Yes, ma’am.”
She tossed the linens on the end of the couch, turned to him, and rest her hands on her hips. She eyed him, a combined expression of wariness, and... he thought... maybe... appreciation. She gave a single, curt nod, and thumbed over her shoulder toward the kitchen, her tone and her aspect both softening. “I’ve got some lunch ready, if you’re hungry.”
“Oh, I am ravenous,” he replied, “lead the way.” He tossed his hat on top of the blankets and followed her, followed the scents of roasted chili peppers and simmering ground beef into the kitchen. “Mmmm,” he hummed, “smells heavenly.”
“You can start workin’ on that big o’ hole in the barn roof after lunch.” She relit the propane stove and stirred the contents of a large, iron skillet until it once again bubbled away, and then pointed out the curtained window with the spoon. “Probably’ll have to take off some of the boards ‘round it though. I think they got the rot when the rain came in.”
He eyed the cabinets above, calculating, then opened the one just above the dishwasher. Without a word, but with a slight smile at his guessing success, he took down two large bowls, two plates, and from the next cabinet over - aha, yes! - two glasses. “I imagine so,” he said, airily. “I’ll have a look at the wall panels as well, assuming they’re made of cedar or oak boards they shouldn’t be too difficult to replace.”
“Oak, I reckon,” she shrugged, gesturing for him to set the dishes on the table. “There’s a pitcher of sweet tea in the fridge. Pour it for us, will you?”
“Of course.”

Shock777′s Teen Titan universe (fan-prediction), had the animated show from 2003 had more seasons after season 5.
Honestly I wish I had time to draw/write out the Teen titans / bbrae ideas I have. I have the cutest ideas and no time to sit down and devote myself to a comic or even a fan fic anymore. :’( I love the Teen titans/bbrae fandom so so much! There’s so much good content out there and i love sharing that content and absorbing what others have made! But again, everyone does Teen Titans/BBRAE DIFFERENT. everyone has their own headcanons on how things should go, fan characters, next gen ocs, and their own thoughts on the titans as a whole.
I love seeing the personal ways others develop the two and their relationship. But at the end of the day, I have my own headcanons and ideas and I so badly want to share them with the world. But...no time, energy, and lack of motivation plagues me.
But Anyway... Because I cannot devote my time to a comic or fanfic at this time, I’m going to just blabber about what I imagine in my own canon universe for the titans.
*Note that not all of these ideas have been fleshed out. i constantly go back and re-imagine different scenarios. I have a general blueprint of how things would go, a skeleton with main events and a short timeline of sorts. but subplots, fillers, and some major details are lacking. I’ve had to invent characters/villains, but I haven’t given them much thought as of now.
I have spent a LOT of time on this, and would love input and comments, reblogs and shares. :) I’ve been keeping this in my drafts as I progress my ideas further...so this is almost like a masterpost or something lol XD;
Anyway, keep reading if you wanna know how i imagine the fate of the titans and bbrae’s canonization had the original 2000′s cartoon show had more seasons to work with.
After Season 5/ Trouble in Tokyo ends.
There are some key things and headcanons that I have to mention before rolling any further.
Raven is free from Trigon after the events of Season 4. She no longer has him inside of her, persuading her and influencing her.
Star/Rob is canon. After the events of Trouble in Tokyo, the couple begin a healthy dating relationship that is full of sweetness and life.
Kid Flash and Jinx are a thing, but their relationship is somewhat superficial at first.
Terra is alive, but either chooses to forget her past life, or literally cannot remember her sacrifice or the titans. She has cut ties to the titans permanently.
There are remnants of Trigon remaining around the world, deep underground, and many cults that worship him exist. There is possibility of him being reformed/regenerated, however he needs a new host as Raven is no longer his host.
The Titans have a huge following around the globe majorly in part due to Titans East and the ending of Season 5 episode “Titans Together”.
Slade is alive once more, waiting to rise up against the titans again. He has to rebuild his empire again from scratch and this will take him quite some time to do. He still may be looking for an apprentice.
I know there are other questions/plots/things I haven’t thought about such as titans east, certain villains, and other things you all may be curious about.
Literally just ask me what i think happened to someone/some event and re-jog my memory so I can spend time to think about said things. :) It’s been a loooooong time since 2006. XD
The Time Skip.
In my own headcanon/universe that takes place after the original animated 2000′s cartoon show,
there is a time skip of sorts
. a time skip of 2-3 years later where the Titans are slightly older, all over the age of 18.
Robin- 19 Starfire-18 Cyborg-19 (the oldest of the group) Raven-18 and a half, nearly 19 Beastboy-18 (just barely turned 18).
They all still live in the Titans Tower in Jump city, and evil still very much exists. After this timeskip, the titans would have different outfits and appearances. I’ll do my best to show them how i imagine them now:
Starfire:
About the same height as she was before the time skip. slightly bigger breasts but still on the smaller side. She wears shorts and her hair is longer and thicker. her bangs are parted to one side instead of down the middle.
Robin:
Transitioning into Nightwing. His hair is based off of his disguise in “trouble in tokyo.” He is growing out his hair and becoming more fulfilled with his life now that Starfire is with him romantically. He is about as tall as Starfire now, and will probably grow taller than her soon.
Cyborg:
(lol he basically looks the same because he is made of mechanical parts...oops! ) He is more cool-headed and loves to tease the other titans especially rob and star, about romantic things and about growing of age.
Raven:
Her hair has started to grow out...she no longer trims it. It is a little past shoulder length now. Her breasts have grown bigger, she is about a C cup. she wears long gloves now, and matching boots. she mostly keeps her hood off unless she is going into battle. she is now officially the shortest teen titan.
Beastboy:
He has the most radical change out of all the others. He matures nicely, losing the fat on his face and growing lean muscle. He grows taller, not quite as tall as robin, but taller than Raven at this point. He still has plenty of growing to do, however. His hair is now fashioned forward into a fohawk, and he is more emotionally stable.
All of these drawings are just prototypes and can be subject to change, however I am pretty set on beastboy and Raven’s designs. ^^; they also were sketched relatively quickly so forgive the crappiness lol
Starfire and Robin’s relationship
Starfire and Robin have been dating ever since their time in Tokyo. Starfire affirms Robin and helps him overcome his past demons. She calms him, and soothes him, and now he is less likely to freak out or obsess over villain happenings. The two are close to getting engaged at this point. They sometimes spend the night in each other’s rooms, though nothing too sexual happens.
Cyborg likes to tease them whenever they go for dates, and he especially loves to poke fun of Robin. It is all in good fun, and mostly gives the others a good laugh.
Sometimes their relationship can be obnoxious as starfire sometimes cannot control her urges to kiss robin at random or perform pda though robin has talked to her about it before. She is getting better though, having been dating him for about 2 years now.
Beastboy sometimes is jealous/envious of Robin. Even though he is happy for his teammates, he wishes he could fall in love and start his own romantic ventures. Raven couldn’t care less about romance for the time being, and is rather on the outside when it comes to seeing others in relationships.
Beastboy and his thoughts on Terra
After the ending of Season 5, episode “Things Change”, he comes to accept that he has work to do with the Titans and he stops pursuing Terra altogether. It takes him a long time to get over her, and even after the timeskip sometimes he thinks of her and gets depressed. He really feels like he lost something...He feels like no one will ever come to accept him or like him the way Terra did. He is at war with his hormones, always trying to flirt with civilian girls and seek approval in places he shouldn’t. In the end though, he is painfully single and is bogged down with feelings of loneliness. Beastboy acts tough, confident in himself and silly around the team, but sometimes, he just needs to brood in his room.
I always believed that had a season 6 ever was produced, beastboy and raven would have gotten together. Why did season 5 end on beastboy cutting ties with Terra, unless he was going to be set up with someone else? I always believed that last episode foreshadowed him moving on. Now that he has cut himself off from Terra and accepted her choice, i felt that it would have been an easy transition into bbrae becoming canon.
BBRAE. a general timeline...lots of parts are missing.
Firstly, Raven has always had a soft spot for Beastboy. It’s been shown time and time again in the 5 seasons of the original show. I want to state that i believe since Trigon is away from Raven now, she has become free in some sense, with her emotions. She still has to control herself from emoting too too much, but she is less vulnerable to exploding things with her powers come any sort of emotional distress.
My bbrae fan-theory has a general format i usually stick to but the details of it are somewhat blurry.
Things I MUST have in my bbrae timeline:
There must be an obligatory moment where Raven figures out she is in love with beastboy. There is a pivotal moment after the time skip, in which it clicks for her that her friendship with him is more than just friendship. It starts off slowly..them growing together. Raven is definitely the one who falls for beastboy FIRST. I like to think of a few of these scenarios to happen in a 6th season that brings raven and beastboy closer (kind of in chronological order) :
An episode dedicated to Raven figuring out Beastboy’s dark past with his parents and his fight with Sakutia disease. Whether it’s because he fights a bad guy from his past, becomes ill, or Raven steps into his mind. There are many ways for this kind of an episode to happen. I feel like once Raven learns that beastboy has his own skeletons in his closet, she becomes more sympathetic and nice towards him. It’s after an episode like this where she starts to call him Gar for the first time on special occasions.
An episode surrounding beastboy and Raven on a mission together, similar to when Raven had to go on her own to take care of Melvin, Timmy and Teether (episode “Hide and Seek”). A mission in which they are placed together and alone while the others are on other missions. I haven’t thought of what kind of mission it could be and how long it would last. I play around with the idea that raven and beastboy are chosen to be together based on their abilities so the mission would incorporate that. During this mission they are together alone and things could happen to bring Raven closer to him. Things like :
-Raven and Beastboy getting caught in a storm together and are forced to take shelter -Raven witnessing Beastboy being good with people/children/the elderly and it makes her smile -Raven and Beastboy forced to share a room/bed for the night (I realllyyyyy like this trope tbh ;A;) Beastboy could be accidentally cuddling Raven in his sleep and Raven could wake up to it. That, or Raven wakes up earlier than beastboy and notices him sleeping and she stares at his handsome, serene face and remarks, “...you know...I’ve never seen him look this...peaceful.” THERE ARE MANY THINGS THAT COULD HAPPEN WITH THIS KIND OF TROPE AND I CAN’T SETTLE ON JUST ONE IDEA asdjkfhalkjsdfhaf -Good teamwork and sense of flow with each other when fighting bad guys. I need at least one good fight sequence of the two of them kicking ass and beastboy asking for a high-five afterwards from Raven xD -Raven and Beastboy getting ready to leave their mission having completed it, and Beastboy says something along the lines of, “I’m actually glad I was paired with you of all people Raven. Had it been anyone else, I might have ended up failing my mission.”
An episode where Raven is in danger, and Beastboy Transforms into the Beast to save her, getting nearly mortally wounded in the process. This would be the definitive episode, where Raven comes to realize her feelings for beastboy. I imagine that Beastboy and Raven have an argument earlier in the episode, where Raven walks away from it feeling like he doesn’t like her and still thinks she’s creepy. But the argument ends up being a misunderstanding on Raven’s part, and Beastboy was actually meaning something as a nice gesture. After she realizes Beastboy’s sacrifice, she visits him in the infirmary as he recovers. He is out of it for several hours and she feels awful about their argument, having nearly lost him. When he comes to, Raven asks him “why?...why did u go so far..for me? I thought you didn’t like me...” Beastboy would then reply with a heartfelt compliment to raven, and it would be revealed that the argument was a misunderstanding. Beastboy would smile and shrug off his wounds. He would say a heartfelt/emotional one liner, (don’t know what it is yet) but the moment he says it raven’s heart lights up and she feels love for the first time. she would inner monologue, “what...what is this? what’s...happening to me?” it would zoom in on beastboy’s smile and she would have a surge of all the memories of them up to that point, overflowing her until she nearly falls backward. Beastboy would ask her if she was ok, as she stumbles a little... and raven would say that she was fine and glad hes doing better...she would leave the room calm and cool , leaving beastboy none the wiser. The episode would end on that, but it would be the start to their relationship.
There would be other episodes and sillier lighthearted stuff surrounding the other characters. but in every other episode there would be cute bbrae moments every now and then sprinkled in. moments like:
-Beastboy shirtless in the training room, Raven oogling him on accident when trying to locate another team member. -An ending scene on an episode where the titans all look at the sunset, and raven looks over at beastboy, shining in the light. his handsome features would shine through, and she would blush and avert her eyes. he wouldn’t notice her gaze, of course. -A moment where beastboy flirts with raven jokingly, but Raven just stays silent, confusing beastboy who was accepting a snide remark in return -Raven having a nightmare about beastboy dying or getting hurt, and she goes to check on him in the middle of the night. He would be sleeping in his new queen size bed (i have a headcanon that he gets rid of his bunk beds sometime during the timeskip) and Raven would smile at his peaceful face. -Beastboy catching raven as she falls during a fight, Raven blushing and pushing away from him immediately -A moment in which Beastboy flirts with some civilian girls who laugh at him and reject him, and he moves on, without noticing raven was watching the whole time. She then explodes the girls’ drinks they were carrying in a form of rage and jealousy XD
I have many other ideas too for random moments. But now back to the main skeleton:
An episode in which Beastboy is upset because he sees Terra passing by on the street. He is reminded of his status as a single man, and sees love and romance everywhere he goes. he cannot escape it, coming home to star and rob shenanigans and cyborg is too busy teasing them that beastboy seeks solace with Raven. He admits how he felt about terra and how he feels lonely. Raven tries to keep her sadness and jealousy under wraps, and confides in beastboy that she feels alone too. beastboy assumed she was like not into romance or anything like that, to which raven replies with a blush and a comment like, “I’m a human too you know.” Beastboy would feel better after talking with her, and would end the episode by telling Raven that if she ever felt lonely, they could hang out sometime. raven would smile and say, “i said i was lonely, not desperate.” BB would roll his eyes and leave her room, smiling and saying that the offer was on the table still.
This episode would be the one that makes beastboy fall for Raven. I have no idea how it would start, but beastboy would invite Raven to go hang out with him. Raven would begrudgingly agree, and would be dragged into a friendly outing with her crush. Beastboy would ask raven to hold onto him as they rode his moped (sometime acquired between the timeskip), and raven would blush. they would wear civilian clothes during this outing. They would see a movie, and go to the bookstore. As Raven became comfortable being around beastboy, they even go to an arcade and raven starts getting into the videogames and kicking beastboys butt at his favorite games. Raven becomes so relaxed that she lets her guard down, and at one moment beastboy would make a joke about something silly, and raven would giggle and laugh out loud. Immediately, raven would realize what she had done and cover her mouth with her hands and blush. Beastboy meanwhile, just gasps and stares at her with big eyes. “did...did you just....laugh at one of my jokes?!” Raven would turn around and blush madly, saying nothing. Beastboy would then cock an eyebrow and smile the biggest smile he ever had. “After all tHESE YEARS! you think I’m funny!” Raven would blush and reply, “....one funny joke out of millions doesn’t make you funny beastboy.” Beastboy then steps back and notices something..he notices how she isn’t meeting his eyes with the regular cold, jeering glare but how she is really flustered and her eyes look soft..he sees the pink blush on her cheeks and realizes that he is correct... that she really DID think he was funny all those years...He also begins to suspect that in that moment, raven was actually...into him. Beastboy blushes deeply and starts stuttering, but then a few teenage civilians would walk by and interrupt the moment. “Hey it’s beastboy and Raven! cool! C-can we have a picture with you guys?! wow i can’t believe the teen titans are here!” The teens would snap a photo with the two blushing titans, and then start walking away. As they walk away, raven and beastboy overhear one of the girls state, “Wow they’re so cute! I never knew those two were a thing!” Raven and beastboy would blush furiously and beastboy would yell, “W-We’re JUST FRIENDS!” back at the civilians who are out of earshot. When he turns to raven, she looks beyond mortified. Beastboy’s ears droop as he feels like she is embarrassed to be with him. meanwhile raven is feeling the same, thinking that beastboy would never date a creep like her. They ride home on the moped in silence. As they return, raven thanks beastboy for the outing. he stutters and thanks her too. there is an awkward silence. “So, uh....” Beastboy would start, but raven would turn, say “goodnight.” and then leave the room.
An episode in which Beastboy fights Adonis again. Adonis threatens to hurt Raven and the other titans, but Raven doesn’t know that when beastboy and Adonis stand off, its about her. the team is separated from the fight. Beastboy ends up kicking adonis’s ass, but is beaten up pretty badly. by the time raven and the other titans get to beastboy, he collapses into starfire’s arms who catches him from falling. before he loses consciousness, he sees raven and smiles at her with a swollen black eye and beat up face. “Raven...good...y-you’re safe...now...” he passes out at that point, leaving the team to stare at raven and raven just as confused as everyone else.
An episode in which Raven finally admits her feelings for beastboy to herself. this episode would delve into her psyche again and feature her emotions again. she would be losing control of her powers, similar to the episode “Fear itself.” because she is denying her love for beastboy. she doesn’t want to pursue it in fear that he wont like her and fear of hurting him. When danger raises its head, beastboy is in trouble and is unable to be rescued by the rest of the team. They try, but no one is strong enough to overcome the villain without raven’s help. But raven is not able to use her powers because she is denying passion within her. Seeing Beastboy being held by a shocking device, each time the titans get close, the villain shocks beastboy and makes him scream in pain and agony. Raven finally cannot stand it, and her powers activate again. However, she isnt channeling all of her emotions together like in the episode “nevermore.” She is leaving passion out. Raven finds that she isn’t strong enough to defeat the foe, and finally gives in and accepts her passion for beastboy. As soon as passion enters the equation, raven becomes at least 10% more powerful than before. her love for beastboy fuels her, and gives her the extra edge to defeat the villain. beastboy is rescued by Raven who frantically takes the shocks off of his ankles and wrists. He starts to thank her, but is interrupted by her hugging him tightly, still fueled by her love for him. beastboy blushes and is shocked. raven holds him for a second, tenderly and closely. the episode ends there.
And I still have many more episode ideas that I’m currently working on. The skeleton would continue with one more final episode where beastboy and raven would finally confess to one another. I dont know what would force the confession, and i have no clue if either beastboy would confess first or raven would. Maybe people can give me ideas? :) I just have so many ideas of how it would all go. i lean more towards raven confessing first. because beastboy is so patient with her.
So the very very basic outline for bbrae canonization would be:
- Raven falls for beastboy first, Raven gets closer to beastboy, beastboy falls for raven, raven admits to herself that she loves him, either beastboy or raven confess their love to the other, they begin dating.
Once Beastboy and Raven are a couple
I have a headcanon that Raven would want their relationship to be a secret for a while. although they have confessed their attraction to one another, their romance is slow at first and is kept secret from the rest of the team. Beastboy is patient with raven, and accepts the fact that she isnt ready to go public with their love. The couple would give knowing glances to one another throughout the day, sometimes spend the night in each others rooms, send late night text messages, and secretly pine for one another while the other teammates are none the wiser.
I also have a headcanon that they dont share a first kiss for a while yet. beastboy is very hormonal and wants raven badly, but he is very patient and wants her to initiate it because he doesnt want to make her uncomfortable. Eventually it would happen, raven initiating it of course. she would probably kiss him quickly on the cheek, but beastboy would be so shocked and overcome by love that he would turn her face back to him, look her in the eyes, and they gently would both come closer and lock lips for the first time.
Starfire would eventually become the first one to know of the pair’s relationship shortly after robin proposed to her. i havent settled on how she would find out, but it would happen and their secret relationship would finally be announced to the rest of the team. at star and robs wedding, raven accidentally catches the bouquet, to star’s delight.
After beastboy and raven become a thing, raven almost exclusively calls beastboy “gar” or “garfield.”
As beastboy and raven grow older, beastboy changes his name to Changeling around the same time Robin becomes nightwing.
Another Time Skip
There would be another time skip near the end of the Teen Titans series, foreshadowing a spin off series about the teen titans next gen (lol i steal too many ideas from kishimoto-sensei lolololol) There are a few things that would happen.
Starfire and Robin become parents in their early 20′s. It’s after Starfire announces her pregnancy that bb and rae get married.
(*the rest of the series is based off of my original comic about beastboy and raven’s married life and the birth of their first child. If you want to read that comic, please go here. )
Beastboy and Raven would have a child two years after starfire and robin have their daughter.
Kid flash and Jinx would have a child too around the same time. Cyborg would adopt a child.
About a year and a half after their first child is born, beastboy and raven would have a second child.
The series would end, showing yet another time skip where their kids are now living in the tower, grown up into their teens themselves. the next generation would begin.
-----------------------------
So...yeah. lol obviously i have to work out this narrative, but that’s generally how I see bbrae becoming a thing. I know there are other things i glossed over. such as slade and other characters. but i mainly only hypothesize about my ship becoming canon tbh lolololol.
I have designs for the next gen kids,
And i’m currently working on more designs and a plot for the next gen series. lol
but you get NO SPOILERS for the next gen ! >:C
Let’s just say that old enemies return, family bonds are tested, and the old titans and the next gen titans have to work together to defeat the ultimate evil.
Anyway, thanks sooooooo much for reading all of this! ;A;
If you read all of this, congratulations you are now one of my favorite people ;W;
Please send me questions, suggestions, critiques, and please like and reblog...I would love your input! :3 This is just my version of how bbrae should be done. i love reading fanfics and other’s stories. let’s all share in the glory of bbrae shipping and hope for a season six one day xDDDDD
But yeah. Thank you. :) And I am out! xoxoxo

—————————— Exceptional Human Beings
- Is this... Batman works with Oracle. It’s the same tech than Nightwing!
- Yes! These is Katana and Metamorpho! I already love Metamorpho facial expressions! The scene from the trailer! Santa Prisca, Bane’s island! They’re so efficient! (Yeah, I have in mind the first time of the Team on the Island...)
- Is it thanks to Jade’s intel? So they will save Tara? :D
- Victor Stone? So this is Dr Silas Stone! I saw the movie, I know Dr Stone wont have time to go... Oh! The Reach tech is back!
- And it’s Steel or John Irons. (Why every person choosing a English name comes with John?)
- Did... did Metamorpho just turn himself into a fart? Seriously? Katana in the background and the indignated face of Metamorpho xD
- Sex implied, definitely mature content... Is it really the time to talk about Dick? You know what I mean... Wait, was that a joke? Like a subtext joke?
- Training Time! Forager’s sounds are so funny!
- Violet fell because she was blushing and Brion uses his powers because he was blushing. They’re cute! :3
- Nightwing definitely knows Batman is on Santa Prisca already and knows Brion will likely get himself killed with his actual combat skills...
- Deathstroke in the place. Oh she’s Cassandra, Savage’s daughter (yeah a lot of Cassandra this season!)
- She knows Tara! Now she’s is used by Granny Goodness... And Cassandra seems to... like her? She is a different character than Scandal (who is lesbian) right? Because I don’t want our first rep to be a pedophilic rapist, thank you very much... We already had Slade for that in Judas Contract...
- “I have observed that.” Definitely thinking about her sister Olympia :(
- Victor’s team! “I would ask Wonder Woman out!” “Me Black Canary” *Vctor rolls his eyes* Are we wasting screentime for straight idiots? (and I mean it in both ways) Just a question: do you think Victor could be gay with his reactions to the “straights comments”?
- “Cisco, a superhero?!” Well, Francisco Ramon will be a superhero one day (but I don’t know his powers yet.) Don’t worry my dear, a lot of people love Zatanna! He’s a Spanish speaker, from where?
- Victor don’t appreciate the bullying but not interfere :( But he’s so above their shit!
- Boo-yah is back! I can’t believe they also gave this easter egg!
- Batman or how burn someone with only words! xD
- “I always hated that name too!” Why don’t you change for you mother name, Arty? :(
- Violet Harper, I love how the writers connect the dots between the comics and what happens on the show!
- JADE! I love how she’s smiling, like she considerates it. We know she would love that. Why could hold her back? How could she think they don’t need her? Because of her father? Football... er I mean soccer is just a lame excuse! She’s crying! She definitely loves them! :’(
- Katana VS Lady Shiva! OMG Katana also uses a wakizashi (a short saber) with her katana like a samouraï :o
- “Bulletproof. That’s annoying” We already know that line but still funny xD So Metamorpho isn’t fireproof? That’s his true form!
- Oracle time!
- “No, no my guns!” Seriously Bane? Metamorpho just blows them a kiss xD
- Booyah! Someone is still using the goggles... Poor Vic :( “I see great things in your future” while showing a FatherBox. I don’t like it... I know the story but still don’t like it...
- Brucely! (Or Bruce Lee?) Such a good boy!
By the way, Katana never talks. She took a vow of silence after her sensei dies.
—————————— Another Freak
- First, I don’t like the title. I dislike even more the wiring from the Reach tech...
- There’s a bad father/son relationship (I mean with fights) each season, isn’t there? “Scene/seen. Now you’re boying me?” I love the dialogue! I know I could hate the wiring... The “dad” at the end broke my heart :’(
- “But Brion Markov’s attitude will soon change! :D” Forager knows what’s going on between those two. Forager is a Haloforce shipper! Human Forager is so cute!! “Be careful on the boys! They only have one thing on their mind!” “What one thing?” *embarassed Brion* “If we arrive with the councelor and the principal, all the other kids will love us!” My poor summer child... “No flying at school!” xD
- After gory Halo, here’s gory Victor :( And here comes the Fatherbox so bad news?
- “I’m so happy to be here it makes me sick” Violet is still dealing with human emotions. Stay whelmed! Or could it be the Fatherbox?
- Is that Terra with blue hair?? And... freckles? (she has the same character design that in the animated movie) Oh she’s Harper Row. My bad. The whole conversation was hilarious and cute!
- Victor’s still alive!
- Of course, access denied. Nightwing knows he would do it. He did it as Robin first! And of course Nightwing appears! And now they’re fighting...but with it Brion could speak his heart out.
- “How they could know us if they don’t interact with us?” I know Forager. Most human are most judgmental at first sight...
- “Are Violet and Fred freaks?” Oh no sweetie don’t think that :( “But Fred must look like a freak...” He refers to his human form. It’s logical. Would you feel like yourself in an alien form? “Freak is cool.” Exactly! “Two hands only” xD
- Victor is freaking out. Naturally. So... he goes... violet when the fatherbox takes control? Like he calls to be heal. So the violet color has a reverse meaning for a fatherbow than for a motherbox, logical as they are the two faces of the same coin.
- Harper is so sweet!
- Whoa new aura: indigo (between blue and violet). So we still don’t know what blue aura does (and black aura, but I’m not sure it exists). What does it do? She opened a Boom tube?
- “I’m not an abomination. I’m a freak.” That’s the spirit. That’s my girl!
- Pleasedon’tmurderhalo! pleasedon’tmurderhalo! Yes! She’s okay!
- She’s healing him! Poor Vic, he’s so confused. “My work here is done.” Violet is so cute!
- Silas trying to find a common thing with Vic is sweet but yeah.. Vic would feel like a rat lab, ask Ed. “Can I go with you?” His voice was so heartbreaking :( Victor prefers to leave to not hurt his father again :( Yeah he’s angry, it’s understanding. At least, he’s alive right?
- Kind of ironic they boomed tube in a football field...
- Brion is finally moving forward! :D
- Lobo’s finger begins to morph. Slobo on the way!
—————————— Nightmare Monkeys
- Tork from Mars, seriously? xD M’Comm should be so pissed...
Was that the Wilhelm scream?
- “I have practice” My heart :(
- it’s Paul who played Conner in Hello Megan! What time had done to you? Gar’s look when they talked about Marie :( Paul is his godfather! And Rita his godmother. Steven is his stepfather? That means he was with Rita, right? He’s Mento? “Thanks God.” I think they both don’t like the situation but still try to play their part...
- I don’t know if this seashell alien is real or just a costume...
- We were right! Halo IS a Motherbox! What happen to the script? Now we can predict things :( She’s... the reincarnation of the dead Motherbox Doctor X and Psimon studied. So Queen Bee works with Vertigo, since Psimon works for Quee Bee. So Gabrielle Daou consciousness died, murdered by Bedlam’s minions and the Motherbox soul regenerates/resurected in her body because she needed a vessel. But Violet still has some of Gabrielle’s memories via the brain, but maybe not her thoughts or emotions?
- I love the Emerald Crown teasing! Was Gar talking about his mother(s) when he said queen? That needle doesn’t seem good...
- “And now he tells you to be patient...” xD
Sphere, stay whelmed! And... the Fatherbow is awake again... And... Conner is shirtless again... Halo has clearly no idea what she’s doing. So cute she calms Sphere down :)
- So that doesn”t sound good... Encino, what/where that could be?
- “He’s dead, Tom.” What that the voice of... WALLY??? And all the dead heroes in the grotto... I mean Watchtower garden.
- Great! Supermartian know how to communicate now :) “Alone time” Weren’t you have a “intimate” time in a bathroom two episodes ago? “Date night/Secret base” Yeah Wolf me too. They got the communication, not the understanding...
- “The Reach... I mean the Klamulons” seriously?
- Tula, Ted Kord, Jason, was that the chronological order? I thought Ted was the last one. That’s why in season Tim went to Jason’s hologramme. Ted Kord died during the Summer break and they were in February. So Tim was a really young Robin!
- Wally speaks to casually about their death. “Who’s next? Guess it’s me.” Does that mean he’s not dead yet? But could soon be? Wally’s death scene reminds me how good the previous style was... RIP too! “Cancel the show already?” I heard the 4th wall break down.
- DOOM PATROL GO! WHAT’S THE HECK?The 4th wall is collapsing in a firy explosion.
- Garfield also collapsed. AAAAAAAAAAAAAH!
Rita Aka Elasticgirl with Starfire’s voice. Chief with Robin’s voice. Robotman with Cyborg’s voice (more like Cyborg’s father xD), Negative Woman with Raven’s voice.
- Steve Dayton is indeed Rita’s husband; So Rita adopted Garfield when Marie died? She did!
- “Sorry your mom(s?) died!” The song. “Just say goodbye to your second mom!” Rita and Marie were together? Was Rita bi/pan? “Let’s die!”
- Of course M’gann save the day, back with her season 1 appearance. The whole Mento’s speech is how Gar sees the situation right? Not the truth right? “I was 14.” Wait, all of this (except Marie’s death) only happen last year?
- M’gann is there to save her brother!
“Sure you’re even born yet?” This joke could also work with Bart. Man, if Bart was in that episode...
- “Queen Bee wants her honey back!” That was a lesbian joke right? The first rep of this season would be Queen Bee? Being Bi? (Why in English bi is pronounced like by and not bee? Do you see the missed joke here?)
- “Let’s watch the episode you were in.” Season 2. The pieces of the 4th wall break again.
- “Shut it down.” “I can’t hear a heartbeat.” He meant the channel, not the heart, Wally. Wait, was it a death wish because Gar can’t handle with all the mourning happening in a few minutes?
- Reminder: Beast Boy’s metagene was activated by Martian transfusion and a bite from a green monkey.
- Mass conservation? Is it a clue for Wally’s return? Like his mass was conserved somewhere when he was desintegrated? A place where he can save Garfield from the Goggles? How can Gar remember Wally’s death if he wasn’t even there?! But he appears as the green monkey to show a parallel? Between the monkey and blood transfusion saving him and Wally saving him now?
- Come back as a hero my boy!
- “Are you real or is this all in my head?” Ask Dumbledore, kid.
- M’gann is in the place! White but with a green aura.
- Yes, I think it was a distraction to cope with all the trauma.
- “Ready to get back to reality. Ready to get back to the life.” hero life? It was both litteral and metaphorical.
- Perdita who don’t understand the Team’s slang :) Gar, did you teach anything to her?
- Garfield finally understand that Gretchen is a bad guy. But it feels off as we already know it. The Evolution episode should have happen after this I think?
- Emerald Crown is so cute! Their kiss was ok, but why M’gann are you doing the same in front of your brother?
- Haloforce kiss! After we finally understand who Violet is! But I would like to see the moment which brings to the kiss :(
- Sphere!
- Of course Wally won’t come back until part b or even the end of the season, will he?
—————————— True Heroes
- It’s Halloween! Halo and Forager are adorable as usual.
- Poor Vic :( Halloween cancel and Violet can’t come :( Forager drives bioship xD (Such a weird sentence...)
- Tara is 15, same age than Bart and Gar.
- Dr Jace had a little girl. who was taken from her. Was she meta? It’s thay why she started to work with Bedlam? To have intel to find her? Or did Bedlam blackmail her to make her work for him? That’s why she’s is so overprotecting with the kids?
- “You’re be my little girl for tonight.” That sounds creepy, right?
- “I know I said pretend I’m not here but I’m.” Yeah, Dr Jace, maybe not the best way to explain where the teenager hormones lead to...
- “Vulnerable” weaks the Fatherbox up. Great. And it’s because she is vulnerable, Dr Jace tries to be closer?
- Cameron (Icycle Jr) and the Terror Twins grew up so much... And not in a good way. I miss the Twins’ design in season 1. They get uglier each season, bad guy cliche. But Tommy could be the Bad Blue Beetle from Bart’s future, they have quite the same morphology and Queen Bee sold Chimmer to the Reach, why not him too?
- Holocaust?
- Wolf attacking the Fatherrbox.
Dr Jace just took a violet ray and if they’re like Halo’s yellow one she should be badly injured... Not just inconscious.
- Emotions turn off Halo’s powers? They just activated them!
- Earth VS FIre. Terra lost :(
- Stay Whelmed, Brion!
- Psimon out! Wait, did just Devastation called him baby?
- Tara is free!
- And Holocaust is with a Queen Bee’s minions.
- Family reunion!
- YJ is now a scary movie. Maybe it’s just panic which shut down Halo’s powers? Fight Vic! “The problem is I had too much.” So it was panic. Now save him!
- Yeah, go save the other kids!
- The conversation between Junior and SB is so chill (no pun intended) and funny. “She was my girl.” “But I was into her.” Dudes, it’s not a competition or a race, just let the girl decide maybe?
- “Maybe that means there’s hope for me too!” Redeem arc foreshadowing?
- “Ow.” Junior plays dead.
- Can we appreciate SB’s combat style?
- Princess speech!
- The Black girl speaks French? Who they could be? Anita?
- League and Team squads were successful” I wish we could have seen them :(
- Dr Jace activated Tara’s metagene on the blackmailing to kill her :o
- Princess speech! :D
- Violet cry of joy is so cute! :)
- “M’gann’s gonna kill me.” xD
- Wait, why is Dr Jace taking Violet’s, hair?
- “They’re ready for the Team!” We’re gonna go our children back! But maybe give Tara some rest?
- “I’m in.” So we go for the Judas Contract storyline? Or that is a mislead?
- Wolf in the Bioship!
5 months to wait now :(

Happy Hearts Day
God I don't remember posting via phone being this much of a pain??? Either way, here is more of me filling the TerraVan shape void in my heart with a Valentine's day fic! Hope you enjoy!
Was it a bit stereotypical to be watching Vanitas as he slept next to him at two in the morning? Yes, maybe it was. But Terra was a bit of a romantic, always had been. Sue him for every penny he's worth because as many of their friends had stated before; he was probably the most romantic man they had ever met. It was a double edged sword when it came to this....thing he had with Vanitas. He wasn't even sure if it was a proper relationship considering Vanitas did everything in his power to remain hidden and unnoticed by the other Guardians of Light. He had said it was to avoid another huge fight considering he was still recovering from the huge fight against the thirteenth vessels of Darkness. How had he ended up gravetating twords Terra, he could only assume it was when he found him on some backwater world, unable to move much less conjure up Unversed to defend himself against hordes of heartless. So, Terra ended up intervening and sticking with the golden eyed male until he was more or less able to at least run away if he needed to. It was strange to see the raven looking so....not weak, because even with a more then splintered and shattered heart; Vanitas was dangerous. He was strong, Terra would bet all his money on the fact that even if he hadn't shown up to help Vanitas would have gotten away. No, so weak wasn't the word...he wasn't used to seeing Vanitas look so damn tired.
He couldn't get up fast enough when the heartless had shown up, at least that's what he told Terra. Which he could believe, especially when he had stood there watching as he struggled to get to his feet. Stiff joints made for very unpleasant times when it came to simple movements. Either way, Terra believed maybe it was after that incident in which Vanitas started to show up more and more. Each time for a long while he looked worse then the first time Terra saw him. The brunette had started to become concerned that maybe, just maybe he would finally fade away. Which was a sad thought on its own. After all, Ventus' heart was whole, he couldn't go back to Ven. So he would simply....cease to exist. But, during one of their many encounters, Terra offered his own heart to be a place where Vanitas' could go and rest in should he need to, should he be unable to hold his physical form. Half, splintered and shattered heart or not, Vanitas still had one and it needed to heal. It needed to rest.
Surprisingly, Vanitas had accepted the offer. He looked relived, and when he collapsed to the floor Terra would admit he freaked out a little but relaxed when the other's heart seemed to just float into his chest. At first, Terra panicked thinking maybe the other would hijack his body like Xehanort did. But instead there was silence, peace. Vanitas was at rest for the time being, and that in itself was a good sign. So, for a long while, maybe about three months, give or take Vanitas' heart rested in his own silently. Never once seeming to give away that he was even there. Terra had begun to worry that maybe, maybe it hadn't it worked. After all, it's not like he was Sora who had this amazing heart full of light that could house and help other hearts heal and rest. No, his wasn't like that. Though it wasn't damaged, his own heart wasn't full of light either. He had darkness in him, that much was given away years ago during his Mark of Mastery exam. In fact, it had been what caused him to fail in the first place. But it was never a issue to where he was driven to harm people or seek the light out to destroy it. Either way, Terra wasn't sure if Vanitas' own heart was even healing all things considered. His worry would be put to rest however one evening when he found himself waking up in the middle of the night.
At first, he had no idea as to why he was awake, he usually slept through the night perfectly fine. He was a good sleeper in the sense that he also wasn't a heavy sleeper. It took him a few minutes to realize that someone was in the room with, well, in his bed to be specific. When he looked down to his right, he was shocked to see Vanitas sleeping peacefully next to him, face buried into the pillow and looking all to much like a content cat. Which was odd, considering Vanitas never looked like anything less then a threatening tazmainen devil. Any other normal person would have yelled and fallen out of the bed at the sight of the dubbed 'Prince of Darkness' (As Sora and Kairi had taken to calling him) laying there next to them. But, Terra he could say wasn't most people. He tilted his head at the sight, reaching down and pulling the blankets up to the smaller male's chin. He then proceeded to lay back down himself and go back to sleep. After all, the other seemed like he was doing okay, didn't look like he would he waking up anytime soon. But, by morning, Vanitas was gone. Terra had thought it to be all a dream, but when he started to wake up at night to see the golden eyed male sleeping next to him, he knew he wasn't a dream. He had asked him once if he could stay until morning, and he was given a very rare sympathetic smile.
"I can't do that." Had been his silent and soft response. Then the explanation of him not wanting to risk another fight with the Guardians of Light followed after that. The brunette was a bit sad that despite the time Vanitas' heart spent in his own, it hadn't healed completely, maybe it never would. But it had clearly been enough to allow him to regain his own physical form and continue on living. So, thus Terra found himself with a bedmate every night since then and it's how he found himself currently, sitting up and watching the smaller male sleep. Lucky him, none of the others ever sensed that Vanitas was around. And Terra assumed it was due to the fact that the Darkness that Vanitas carried around with him had dwindled down. Something he had told the other just the other night. Vanitas only gave him a small grin and shrugged. It seemed like Vanitas didn't know much about himself like how the others didn't know much about him.
Terra sighed softly, reaching down and gently running his hand through Vanitas' dark colored hair. It was a lot softer and much more silk like then what he had first believed. He watched as the raven let out a soft sigh of content, nuzzling further against the nest of pillows and blankets he had made himself. He couldn't help the warm and gentle smile that came over him at seeing just how relaxed the other was. Vanitas had always been anything but relaxed, despite the relaxed way he acted with them back then, anyone who had experience in dealing with Vanitas could tell he was always tense, on guard and ready for the unexpected. Honestly it was a bit sad to see, that he always felt the need to be so tense and braced for something bad to happen. He wasn't sure how he was now, seeing as he only ever saw him at night, but he hoped that he had some how grown out of that habit. But, Terra had his doubts. Vanitas was a creature of habit and routine, at least that's what the golden eyed male had told him once. He wasn't so sure if that was the case now though.
"Sleep, what are you doing awake? You got training with the others tomorrow, don't you?" Came the muffled, and sleep slurred question. Terra blinked, looking down at the smaller male and was met with sleep hazed golden eyes looking up at him with slight, but mostly sleepy curiosity. The brunette shrugged, reaching over Vanitas to grab his gummiphone from the windowsill. When his eyes landed on the date, he couldn't help but smile and chuckle softly. He set the phone back down on the windowsill. " 'hts so funny?" The raven asked with a yawn. He blinked a bit in confusion when the bigger male male leaned down and placed a kiss on his forehead, running a hand through his hair. It wasn't odd for Terra to show him random acts of affection, it happened more often than what many would realize. Perhaps once or twice a kiss on the lips was given, but they never labeled what this was. Vanitas believed it was best to keep it that way. After all, not like he would be accepted so easily by the very people he had tried to kill. Even if Terra had assured him that he, Sora and Ventus would vouch for him, he still didn't want to risk it.
"Happy Heart's day." Vanitas stared at Terra with a raised brow which must have been funny if the soft laughter that escaped him was anything to go by. "You don't know what it is? It's called Valentine's day in some other worlds."
"Ah...no I don't know what that is." He admitted openly as the bigger male smiled. He watched as Terra sat up, holding his hand out to Vanitas who without a second thought slipped his hand into the bigger male's and allowed himself to be pulled up. And pulled to sit in front of him, but also leaning back comfortably against his chest. He waited for the other to finish arranging them, Terra eventually settled on wrapping his arms around his waist, his chin resting on Vanitas' shoulder.
"Heart's day, or Valentine's day is a day to show your love to people. Be it your friends, family, or a significant other. It's even a day to show just in general, kindness to those around you. Call it the day of Love if you want. Typically, on this day you hand out chocolates, or roses, even cards to those you want to say I love you, cherish you, or even care about you, to." Terra explained, moving his hands to hold them our facing upwards. Vanitas by second nature placed his own hands over his own, allowing the bigger male to hold his hands, run his thumbs over his knuckles and squeeze his hands as he pleased. Or when he wanted to be sweet, he would kiss his knuckles and whatever little scars he could find on his hands. "I honestly had forgotten about it until checked my phone. But, I guess I just wanted to say happy Heart's day. And I would love to take you somewhere for the day later today. Just the two of us...you know, like a date. But only if you want to. I know you're not to keen on being around during-" Terra found his words being cut off by the soft feeling of lips against his own. He hadn't even noticed when Vanity had turned his head to an angle to even do this. But he had, when the smaller finally pulled away Terra found himself blushing slightly at the sight of a soft and warm smile on the other's face.
Now that, that was a once in a blue moon chance. It was these chances that Terra may or may not live for. When Vanitas would let his guard drop, when the walls he had built up so high would come down, not in a violent way, but gently and slowly like a door opening. When he would allow himself to look vulnerable and at peace with his life. It was these moments Terra lived to see, and he wished he would see them not just started night in the confineds of his room. Terra found himself pressing their foreheads together, which got a small laugh out of Vanitas, another rare occurrence.
"Just you and me...right? N-no one else?"
Terra found himself perking up at the question, he nodded quickly, squeezing the smaller body tighter against his chest. "Just you and me. For an entire day and night. I want to take you somewhere and show you what Heart's day is like."
"So...a date. Between.... boyfriends?" Vanitas asked, placing his own arms over Terra's and squeezing. His tone was hopeful, and that's all Terra needed.
"Yes. Yes a date between boyfriends. Definitely."
At that, Vanitas snorted, laughing as he gently pushed Terra's arms away so he could sit across his lap and press his face against the crook of Terra's neck. It didn't take a genius to know and to tell that Vanitas was actually happy. Happy and if a little embarrassed if the slight tint if pinkish red that dusted over his cheeks to the tips of his ears was anything to go by.
Terra didn't need the smaller to respond with anything else, he was over the moon at the moment. Honestly, he was sure there wasn't a better day for them to finally labe their relationship other then on Heart's Day. With a low rumbling, purr, Terra squeezed the smaller male, pressing a kiss to the top of his head and whispered;
"Happy Heart's Day, Vanitas."
And for the raven, it was indeed a happy day.

The Lies We Told (Beast Boy/Raven , Chapter 5/??)
Disclaimer: I do not own Teen Titans. This is a work of fiction that I am not making a profit off of.
Author’s Note: I struggled with this chapter, but I think I won. I mean, it’s done, so victory? Victory! *nods*
Warning: This chapter contains a little citrus content! (Don’t get too excited its very, very light.)
Past Chapters: Prologue Chapter 1 Chapter 2 Chapter 3 Chapter 4
Chapter Five: Eyes Closed
“You know,” Jinx started, her fingers playing with the top of her champagne glass.
Rachel’s eyes narrowed. Her arms folded over her chest as she leaned back into the white couch. She, barely, survived the engagement party, but if she could get through that disaster, she knew she could make it through watching Terra shop for a wedding dress.
“If you keep making that face,” If only her pink haired friend would shut her mouth. “It’s going to get stuck that way.”
Rachel knew Jinx lacked the ability, courtesy, and emotional intelligence to just shut up. She just had to pray that her guilty conscience and her rage would stay quiet. She took a deep breath in, keeping her eyes on the white silk and tulle on the opposite wall. She ignored the pink haired woman and the constant buzzing of her phone.
“Geez, what crawled up your ass and died?” Jinx questioned, scoffing. “You’ve been a real bitch since the engagement party.”
Rachel reminded herself to take slow deep breaths and stay away from the free mimosas. The desserts were fair game though. With sigh, she picked up a small cheesecake shoving it in her mouth. She couldn’t bite Jinx’s head off with full mouth.
“I agree.” Kori spoke in a small voice, looking at Rachel. “You have been quite…” She trailed off, frowning as she struggled to find the word.
“Bitchy.” Jinx added in a light, happy voice.
“Tense.” Kori corrected with a sweet smile. “You seem as though you have a lot on your mind.”
Rachel sneered as she silenced her buzzing phone again. She pulled the annoying device from her pocket, reading the message on the screen.
‘We need to talk.’
She’d been right in her assumption that he wouldn’t be bold enough to talk about their kiss in the company of their friends, but she’d been wrong to think Garfield would let it go. He’d been persistently trying to contact her for the last week.
“You take care of that if you need to.” Jinx offered.
“Nothing to take care of.” Rachel shrugged.
“Are you sure?” Kori asked gently. “Because we are here to listen if you are in need of us.”
Her thumbs quickly typing a response. ‘There’s nothing to talk about it.’ She sighed, sitting her phone in her lap face down. “I’m good.” She shoved another small cheesecake in her mouth.
Jinx was too wrapped up in her own world to notice her deception.
Kori, on the other hand, was more observant. Rachel wasn’t sure if Dick’s detective skills had rubbed off her on her or her years studying human mannerisms and culture allowed her to be more in tune with others’ body language. She knew her friend wasn’t going to give up easily.
She’d have to offer more.
“I’m just tired.” The violet haired woman shrugged, sinking further into the chair. She stopped herself from tensing as her phone buzzed again.
“From what? You’re a librarian, and you teach yoga a couple times a week.” Jinx dismissed, reading for another drink. “You have nothing to be stressed about.”
“Thank you for your support.” Rachel’s voice was flat, eyes narrowed in annoyance. She turned her attention back to Kori. “With inventory, dealing with new students, new schedule at the yoga studio…” Kissing our friend’s fiancé and not feeling an ounce of regret. “I’m just tired.”
Kori nodded, appeased that her friend had opened up to her. “I suppose our weekend of over indulging did not help you rest?”
“No.” She shook her head, flipping her phone over, eyes drifting down.
‘You can’t ignore me forever.’
Rachel sighed, pushing a smile to her face. “It was fun though. I enjoyed seeing everyone.”
“Agreed!” Kori smiled. “It was all most like years ago, when we all lived in the tower?”
“I don’t miss that.” Jinx mumbled, stuffing a cracker in her mouth.
“Really?” Rachel asked, raising a skeptical eyebrow as she peeked down at her phone.
‘We have to talk about this.’
“Don’t get me wrong, I loved the social side, but I don’t know how I made it through those sixteen hour patrols.”
“Agreed.” Kori giggled with nod, grabbing a piece of fruit. “I do miss us all being in one place.”
“We all still live in Jump though.” Rachel shrugged, resting her elbow to her knee. Her phone buzzed.
‘You can’t ignore me.’
She could try. Rachel managed to when they lived together. He underestimated her. “Is Terra inviting any other former Titans to the wedding?”
“Yep.” Kori nodded. “We finished working on the guest list the other night. I think we’re going to need help with invitations.”
“How many people is she inviting?” Jinx questioned.
“It’s at least three hundred.”
‘You don’t get to ignore me because you want to forget it.’
“Terra and Gar know three hundred people?” Jinx wondered.
“I suppose if you think about all the Titans, their dates, children…” Rachel added to the conversation.
Kori nodded. “It adds up. Richard and I had about five hundred guests.”
“Thank you for reminding me of why I plan on avoiding the institution of marriage.” Jinx mentioned, grabbing another cracker. “But, the free food is nice.”
“Seriously, Jinx?”
‘I figured after all these years you would have grown up. You would always talk about me being immature, but ignoring me is immature and selfish.’
“Seriously.” Jinx grinned, leaning back with her latest mouthful. “Had I known trying on wedding dresses came with snacks, desserts, and champagne, I would have insisted on marriage sooner.” She shrugged. “Or I’d at least invest in a fake engagement ring.”
Kori giggled. “I think we’ll be in another bridal shop soon enough.”
“Wally knows better than to propose to me.”
“No,” Kori replied, light melodic. Her eyes rolled toward Rachel with a wide smile on her face.
“No.” Rachel insisted.
“I think so.” Kori gave her a knowing smile.
‘We aren’t kids, and I’m not your punching bag anymore. I understand when we were younger it was hard for you to talk about your feelings, so you acted out physically. I get it.’
Rachel shook her head firmly. “No.”
“Oh,” Kori’s smile grew to rival one of the Cheshire Cat. Her head nodded slowly as she gave a slow and cheesy wink. “I think yes.”
She made out with Gar, who she’d been pining over since she was a teenager and was engaged to one of her friends. She was trying to atone for her sin by giving up alcohol, but hearing that Garth was planning to propose to her commit to drink less.
‘But, we’re adults now. Something happened between us, and we need to talk about it. I have never asked you for anything, but the one time I ask something off you, you ignore me.’
And, she was dealing with the consequences of her ‘drunken’ kiss with Gar at the engagement party. Rachel decided that the universe was against her.
That had to be the only explanation for this nonsense.
“Looks like we’ll be helping you shop for a wedding dress soon.” Jinx smirked, raising her glass in the air to toast.
“No, we won’t.” Rachel huffed. “Garth and I haven’t even discussed marriage.”
“You’ve been together for damn near ten years, what is there to discuss?”
The purple haired woman sighed, pinching the bridge of her nose. “Quite a few things, I imagine.” She couldn’t let them know that she had no interest in marrying Garth.
“You’re so analytical about it.” Jinx laughed. “I think you can’t stand this is gonna be a surprise.”
That was part of the reason.
“It should be a surprise, right?” Kori reasoned, snatching another cracker from the tray. “That way it’s most romantic.”
“You all just told me he was going to propose.” Rachel wasn’t complaining about that.
“We never said the when.”
“But I know it’s going to happen.”
Jinx shrugged. “You’re still surprised, and I am pretty sure you’d kill us for not giving you some sort of head up.”
Her friends knew her well.
‘We are going to talk about this.’
“Are you ladies ready to see the bride?” The perky bridal consulted stepped out from behind the pink satin curtain.
“Let’s get this selection process going!” Kori cheered.
‘I’ll be at your apartment at six tonight, and I’m not leaving until you talk to me.’
“Alright, here she comes.” She pulled back the curtain, making way for the bride.
Rachel had decided she would call Garfield’s bluff.
After the bridal shop, she decided to go anywhere and everywhere but her apartment. At 5:59pm she turned off her cell phone and visited Garth during his shift at the police station. She figured if she brought him dinner and ate with him that could kill at least an hour, and Rachel hadn’t complained when she was there for all most two hours. She didn’t want to admit that she hadn’t heard a word that he said. She’d grown into the habit of tuning in when she had to, and returning his ‘I love you’ to keep him satisfied and unsuspecting.
After the police station, Rachel intentionally took the wrong train home to delay her another hour. When she finally reached her block, she ventured into wine shop at the corner and decided to treat herself. She wandered through the small fresh food market. Her feet moved leisurely down each aisle and absentmindedly purchasing popcorn, a few chocolate bars, and a few other junk food items.
And just to be sure, she decided to talk to the woman preaching salvation and handing out brochures at the corner. Had the coffee shop, been open she would have offered to sit down with her over coffee. Surely, she’d ramble for at least a couple hours, but today she’d have to settle for a small fifteen minutes.
When she approached her apartment at nearly midnight, Rachel couldn’t help but be proud of her empty doorstep.
She knew Gar would leave.
With a sigh of relief, she unlocked her door deciding to reward herself with a glass of wine.
“About time.”
Rachel yelped, her bags dropping to the floor. Her head whipped toward her living room, seeing the green man lounging on her couch. “Yea, let’s add attempted murder to breaking and entering.” She muttered. Kicking her front door shut then picking up her dropped groceries, she couldn’t figure out if her heart was pounding from the scare or the anticipation of their conversation. “How the hell did you get in here?”
“I shifted into an ant and crawled under your door.” Gar answered. His legs swung off the couch, planting on the ground in front of him. “Where were you?”
“Out.” She snapped, walking into the small kitchen. Throwing the snacks on the counter, she slammed the wine bottle on the counter. “I’m surprised your fiancée is letting you stay out this late. She mentioned something about you guys having a dinner and movie date tonight.” That last part was a lie. Since he decided to call her bluff, she figured she could make him mad enough to leave her alone.
“No.” He stood, walking into the doorway of the kitchen. HIs hands slid into his pockets as he leaned comfortably against the wall. “I told her I had some business to take care of.”
“This late at night.”
He didn’t hesitate. “She’s asleep.”
“What a good fiancé you are.” Rachel mocked, uncorking her bottle. She took a swig from the bottle, not bothering to get a glass.
“Are you going to talk to me like an adult, or are you going to act like a child?”
“Nothing to talk about.” She could feel his patience thinning. Good.
Gar sighed. “So, the later.”
“Most likely.” She challenged taking another swig, an arrogant smirk growing on her lips.
“We need to talk about that kiss.”
“We were drunk.” Rachel shrugged, blaming her flush on the alcohol. “We kissed. I’m not gonna tell your fiancée or anyone else for that matter. You got your last hurrah before you officially tie the knot.”
Gar shook his head, taking a step closer. “Why did you kiss me?”
“I was drunk.”
“Drunk enough to kiss me and then immediately realize that you shouldn’t have?” He questioned, stepping next to her as she took another drink. “That doesn't make sense to me.”
“There isn’t anything to analyze.” She didn’t dare to face him. Her eyes remained forward, even as the bottle touched her lips. “So, I don’t know what to tell you.”
“How about the truth?” He challenged. “I’ve had time to think about it.”
“Good for you.”
“And, I don’t think you were that drunk.” Gar pushed.
“Well, obviously you haven’t been around me when I’m drunk.”
“And who’s fault is that?” He questioned. “I’m not the one who just up and moved to Titan’s East.”
“I didn’t move there.”
“You might as well have.”
Rachel closed her eyes, focusing on the task at hand. She wanted him out of her apartment. She wanted to crawl into bed with her bottle of wine and her bags of snacks and forget that she had to watch Terra try on wedding dresses.
She didn’t want to think about the morning and resuming her duties as a bridesmaid.
“You stopped being my friend.” He accused.
“You don’t get to say that.” Rachel shook her head. “I just spent the better part of my day sitting in a bridal boutique watching your fiancée try on wedding dresses, and tomorrow I get the pleasure of addressing envelopes, looking at centerpieces, and fucking place cards.” She spat bitterly.
“That has nothing to do with being my friend.”
“Bullshit.” Her head snapped, facing fierce green eyes. “You don’t know what I’m going through.”
“Maybe,” Gar started, his voice lowered. “Just maybe, I would understand if you talked to me instead of slamming me against a wall or calling me stupid and stomping away like a child.”
“You don’t understand.” She shook her head, clenching her jaw. “I’m not talking to you about this.”
“Don’t pull that teenage emo shit on me.”
Rachel turned her back to him. Her eyes closed as she tried to remember breathe.
“Just tell me!”
“Fine.” Rachel shouted, stepping into his personal space. Her temper had reached it’s boiling point. It became easier to speak out of anger rather than reason. “I was in love with you!”
Gar stepped back, flinching as if her words had struck him.
She decided since she was forced to confess, Rachel was going to make sure he would never speak to her again. “You didn’t see me the way I saw you, and I don’t blame you for that,” She breathed, her jaw tight. “But that doesn’t make it hurt less. So yea,”
Anger aside, Rachel wasn’t stupid enough to tell him everything. She had to think long term. He’d still be in her life at a distance.
She just had say enough to make him stay away from her.
“Maybe,” Her voice wavered. “I still have some feelings for you, or something. I don’t know.” At this point, Rachel wondered if she was even capable of telling the truth anymore. “But-”
“Why didn’t you tell me?”
Rachel froze. His eyes for confused and pained, not disgusted or angry as she imagined.
“What?”
“Why didn’t you tell me?” He repeated, his voice cracking with an unidentified emotion.
“You were with someone else.”
“You didn’t give me a choice!” He yelled at her, taking a step closer. “You spent years tossing me out of windows, slamming me against walls, pushing me away when all I wanted was to see you smile- tell me, what the hell I was supposed to think?”
“I had a lot going on.”
“Didn’t stop you from getting close to Garth.” Gar spat her boyfriend’s name like venom.
“You were with Terra.” Rachel snapped defensively.
“Did you ever,” Gar started sighing. “Ever, stop to think that I had feelings for you?” He leaned down going nose to nose with her.
Rachel felt a shiver roll down her spine as she inhaled his scent. She fought to keep her posture strong and her eyes focused to his.
“Why do you think I always wanted you to smile? Why do you think I bothered you?” He questioned, the space between their lips narrowing. “You didn’t give me a chance to choose you.” He whispered sadly, lips ghosting over her own.
“I didn’t know you wanted me.” She breathed. Her hand went to the side of his face as her body pressed against him.
His fingers gripped her hips, pressing them close .”I want you.” He groaned.
Rachel kissed him, dragging her fingers down his body.
Gar growled. He picked her up, sitting her on the counter. Stepping between her legs, his hands slipped underneath her clothes.
“Yes.” She whispered, wrapping her legs around his hips as her guilt heightened her excitement. “Yes.” She nodded, moaning as his fingers moved to the waistband of her jeans.

Hey, just wanted to say I love your profile pic. Ryuko is pretty friggin sweet. Anyway, a question: who is your favorite faction in warhammer in terms of the coolest lore they have?? Thanks for answering and have a lovely evening/day/morning!
Holy crap an ask
Thanks! Ryuko is the best 8D and Thanks for the ask! As for your question, that’s a toughy! My favorite faction is extremely difficult to pin down, considering I have an intense love for Orks and their dakka, the Guard and their standard issue BALLS OF STEEL, the Sisters and their BURN AND PURGE power armored greatness, CSMs for their BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD, and the Astartes for, well, their beefy PAULDRONS.However, if we’re talking from a lore standpoint, I’m gonna have to go with the Astartes. Granted the Guard has many different regiments all hailing from hundreds of different kinds of worlds(I mean come on, who doesn’t want to see Space Cossacks tearing it up with the Space Red Army?), I feel like a lot of the Astartes chapters are extremely well developed.Granted, that’s a bias, since they’re literally the Poster Boy faction, of course they’re going to have a shitton more lore than most other factions sitting behind them(and that’s not to say other factions don’t get their share, but count how much content GeeDubs themselves, Forge World, and Black Library has put out and you’ll see I’m not wrong) I do adore the variations between chapters, including the conflicts they have with each other.Above all, the Lamenters are my babies. They’re one of the only true good, heroism-and-valor types of Chapters, and their lore strikes a deep chord with me. However, I think it’s even more interesting to take note of the other factions that were beside them, before them, and even after them. For instance you have Marines that are complete asswads, like the Marines Malevolent, who are just as bad as the Blood Ravens with nicking everyone else’s shit, and even more assholish than the Minotaurs, to the point that Vulkan He’Stan had to smack the bitch out of one of their captains during the second war for Armaggedon. The Minotaurs, a chapter with an eerie background that somehow manages to recruit from Terra itself and is specialized in killing other Space Marine chapters. The Imperial Fists, who everyone knows as these badass fortress building, pain loving masochists slabs of meat, few know that they’re actually very artsy, at least in terms of their scrimshawing and their focus on both the function of their fortresses and the design as well(despite Dorn apparently having a massive hard on for gothic architecture). The Iron Hands, and how they shun the common organization with a Chapter Master at the forefront and instead actually elect a representative as Chapter Master to guide them in the next conflict.Even the Space Furries Wolves and their recruitment and initiation rituals, and how they’re literally the only chapter to successfully give the middle finger to the Inquisition and actually put the fear of Russ into their silly hat wearing leaders.
Even my own opinions on the various chapters aside, I find their quirks and doctrine really interesting, and I think it stretches beyond first founding when you consider other chapters. The Legion of the Damned/Firehawks, who are practically Imperial Daemons at this point. The Sons of Medusa and the Schism with the Iron Hands. Hell, even the Blood Ravens, who may or may not be loyalist Thousand Sons.Again, this is largely bias, considering this is probably an uncommon sentiment and it’s pretty much more Marines fanwank. I adore them, though, and find them to be extremely well developed. Big, beefy killing machines that will not eat, breathe, sleep, or stop killing until their enemies are truly dead but still retain their own quirks, eccentricities, and styles right down to their armor designs and personal enjoyments. That all being said, I would fucking love more development of other factions. The Guard has a ton of rich characters and regiments, that if expounded upon could be even more interesting and enthralling imo. the Tanith First are the absolute best, and pretty much kindled my hunger in knowing how the other regiments interact with one another. I’d love to see how Mordians act towards each other(which, I really need to buy that book when it comes out) and what they do when they’re not on the parade grounds, how a Krieg Trooper might spend his few moments of rest(even though we all know it’s probably clearing land mines by running through open fields or some crazy shit). I want to see more Drookian Fen Guard sassing Commissars and making sonnets.I’d love to see a Blood Axes force who are full-on militarized, with stolen/salvaged Imperial Tech, a character who is a spot on armor commander, or a Snakebites leader who’s basically an Orky William Wallace(Killum Choppace? Orkum Wallaz?)I love knowing that the Tau are actually being controlled by the Ethereals, and Farsight is basically not only against them, but could potentially lead to a hostile takeover in the future, which would be awesome to see. Alongside that, I love how their caste system shows that they actually are a very diverse race.I’d love to see more on the Lost and the Damned as well, The Blood Pact is fucking awesome as a functional military force, and I’d adore to see more of it, not just in favor of Khorne either! Desolator-styled army that uses poison and chemical warfare, a warband of psykers that manage to pull off massive feats against the Imperium with their collective mindbullets and praise to Tzeentch, even a Slaaneshi host that manages to strike fear into Eversors with their drug-addled charges, or even armored vehicles with giant speakers and chem-pumps for the operators that go in and knock buildings down with sheer ROCK sound!I feel like the Marines get a lot of love, but the other factions could receive so much more than they already have as well.

Fractured
First post on this tumblr. It took a while but I’ve finally caved and decided to make an account here. I’m a bit hesitant still considering some of the horror stories I’ve heard of this place but hey, it’s just the internet. That said, this one is for all you Teen Titans fans out there. This is based in the world of the cartoon, with a crossover with the DCAU for giggles. The rest of the story will follow shortly after. Hope y’all enjoy!
Prologue
“That's....quite a story, Terra.” Robin said, his face still a mixture of disbelief, a trace of anger, and the flash of sympathy as he looked down at the shamefaced blonde sitting in front of him, her head hung low with her long bangs covering her eyes while Beast Boy held her hand. From what Robin could tell, Beast Boy had been by her side like this for the last hour or so before Terra had come down and called them all to the living room, and he couldn't blame him. If Starfire had been in this much pain, he would have been doing exactly the same. The others looked as shocked as him, even Raven, who stood wide-eyed to his left, her hood down and her gaze fixed on the geomancer.
She'd been a traitor. Or at least, that had been the plan. After the first time they had met her, when she had left after she believed Beast Boy had told them about her lack of control over her powers, Slade had found her. He'd convinced her that he could help her, trained her in her powers and then sent her back here as a mole. Tonight was supposed to have been his coupe de grace; She was supposed to have sent the tower's security codes to him, and then his drones would have taken care of the rest. In the end, however, her conscience had won out, and she'd refused her final task. So how they were here. There was silence for a full minute before Terra spoke up again, her voice hoarse and full of regret.
“I'm so sorry...I can't believe I did this to you all. You trusted me...you haven't done anything but help me...you must hate me now.” She sniffled at the last word, looking as he she might start sobbing again any second now. Beast Boy gave her hand a firm squeeze at that, and she seemed to calm down again at that touch. Cyborg was the first to speak up.
“Terra, you're family far as I'm concerned. That's all I need to say on that.” Instantly forgiven. That was Cyborg, alright. He always did like to play big brother. Robin couldn't help but crack a bit of a smile at that. The big guy certainly did a good job in that role. Then it was Starefire's turn. She was....well, she was Starfire.
“Oh, Friend Terra, how could I hate you!? You are the most wonderful friend I have ever had! The terrible, terrible Slade has lied to you and manipulated you! I will break him for this!” She shouted as she scooped up Terra in a fierce, almost bone-crushing hug. The first part of her declaration of forgiveness had been typical of the Tamaraian. The last part, however, was not. That part had actually frightened Robin. He could actually see that normally sweet, innocent girl doing her best to break every bone in Slade's body for something like this. Slowly, Starfire realized she might have been holding onto Terra a little too tightly, and let her go with a comforting little smile. Terra did her best to smile back, but it was still obvious that she didn't feel much better. Beast Boy was still quite. He'd no doubt already said his piece in private. That left Raven.
Truth be told, Robin had expected Raven to storm out or chew their newest member out like a drill sergeant. Instead, the ash-colored young woman set herself down beside Terra with a nod.
“You followed your conscience. You beat Slade's manipulation. That's what matters now. We can't change what happened or the choices you made before, but you choose your future. You chose us over him.” Her hand was on Terra's shoulder as she spoke, her tone surprisingly gentle compared to her usual abrasive monotone. Terra looked shocked at that. Obviously she hadn't been expecting that kind of response from Raven either. There was a long pause, and then, with a sob she threw her arms around Raven and began to cry again. Not guilt alone this time. There was relief in it too.
“I...I don't know what to say. I can't believe you're all forgiving me after this.” She finally choked out. Robin looked the geomancer in the eye as he spoke
“You're a Titan, Terra.” That struck the girl more than anything else that had been said tonight, it was clear. She looked at all of them slowly with bloodshot eyes.
“You're the best friends I've ever had.”
TTTTT
Deep bellow Jump City, secure from intrusion by those pesky little superheroes that seemed to be cropping up like weeds all over the world, Slade Wilson swore as he picked the shards of glass from his hand. He'd broken his favorite wine glass when he'd read the little girl's message, and now his hand was covered in glittering red specks. It was supposed to have gone so simply. Train her, gain her trust and loyalty, and then send her in to do the same with the Titans, then crush that vermin once and for all. But no. She'd just had to go and grow a conscience while she was with the Titans. He could still feel his blood boil as it tricked from the dozens of small gashes in his hand.
One word. It has been one word she'd sent, but it was still enough to send him into a rage.
“No.”
He swore again as he drew the largest shard from his palm, earning the attention of the men waiting at either side of the entrance to the room. Sharpes and Deych were recent hires. Professional killers that had worked in Gotham for most of their lives before relocating to Jump City after a nasty run-in with that grim town's own caped crusader. Both men were in their forties, like him, wearing black suits, balding (Sharpes retaining his rusty brown mane, while Deych's had gone prematurely gray), and carrying .45 automatics under their jackets.
“Sir? Everything alright?” Sharpes said a bit cautiously, not moving from his spot. Slade briefly thought about slapping his underling for such a stupid question, but he understood that men in that position only had so many responses to this kind of display. If their places were reversed, he imagined he would have asked the question as well.
“Yes. There is a setback in operations. But only a minor one. Plan 2 is still workable. Deych, speak with Calculator within the hour. Sharpes, all of my contacts in Gotham, Metropolis and Central City. We will require heavies.” He was done with the local muscle. Cinderblock and Plamus? They'd failed on multiple occasions, as had those HIVE children. No, it was time to bring in some real talent. Plan 2 would be more extensive, and costly than his initial operation, but the results would be well worth it. It had gravitas as well. Gravitas and a certain classical charm to it.
His domination of this city was only delayed. Things would go his way. And when they did....well, the world would never be the same again.
TTTTT
“When your checks start to actually clear, sweety. The last one you sent me bounced so high it might as well have been a satellite. You want a tip on a score? Go ask Intergang. I'm sure they could use some muscle as dumb as you.”
Calculator groaned wearily as he pressed the disconnect key, taking a long, angry drag on his cigarette before he returned his attention to his work. Livewire was always a pain in the ass to deal with, especially when the work was slow for her. Which was all the time, in the last few months. He was not what many would expect in a criminal master mind; short, dumpy, with receding brown hair and thick, gold-rimmed spectacles, he looked more like a New England banker than anything else. Nobody that saw him on the streets would peg him for the man that nearly every super-criminal in the United States relied on for up to date information on scores, superhero activity and general tips and rumors.
He sighed and looked down at his array of monitors; one tuned to newsfeeds, one to a blog popular with the less than reputable super-types, and one to the Gotham City Police Department staff records. That last one was the most important at the moment, as he opened up Detective Renee Montoya's file. Squeaky clean, a list of commendations as long as his arm, a widow with a husband killed in the gangland shit Gotham seemed to stew in every second of every day. He wasn't going to find the sort of crap he'd need to get Two-Face's request done here. Thankfully, there were other sources, and if his runners were to be believed, he'd soon have some very interesting photos of Ms. Montoya and a one Ms. Kate Kane, heiress and recently discharged army-wanabe that would probably put a pause to her investigation for a good long while.
The call came a second later, and the stout little man's eyebrow went up as he saw where it originated from. Jump City, eh? He hadn't gotten too many requests from that town in a good long while, and more often than not it was from a single man in particular, or a proxy. When he saw the name, his suspicion was confirmed.
“You're through to Calculator. What can the master of all he surveys provide today, my one-eyed friend?” He asked, a sort of sarcastic cheerfulness to his voice as he stubbed out his smoke into the overflowing ashtray, then almost immediately lighting up another.
“'Fraid it ain't the big man himself, bud. He needs ya to find sum'n quick and quiet-like.” The voice was gruff, harsh and with a distinct Gotham accent, one he'd heard a few times before. So ol' Deych had gotten a new employer, eh? He'd have to make a note of that, seeing as Slade had seemed content to stick with the local boys before. If he was bringing in hired guns from out of town, it meant something had changed, maybe even dramatically so.
“That's what I do. What's this special order Mr. Wilson needs oh so badly?” Calculator asked with genuine curiosity now, his fingers flying over his keyboard to pull up Deych' record. The goombah grunted and rattled off what his boss wanted in as clipped and professional a tone has he was probably capable of. It gave the information broker pause, and a frown began to melt over his lips. It was a tall order, but he thought he remembered hearing....yes, some of the product Slade needed was in town.
“Well lucky you, Mr. Deych. You boys happen to be sitting not very far off from what you need. I'll go ahead and send you some recommendations for getting past security, too. Consider that a favor to Mr. Wilson.” And so he did, sending off the e-mail with the properly encrypted files. With that he cut off the call, leaning back in his chair and smiling around his cigarette. The Titans were going to be in for a very nasty surprise if this was going to go the way he thought it would. Oh, this was going to be a very interesting show indeed.
