fancuries fyc!!

hello all i hope im not too late to promote my fanseries here~ i admit im not all that active on tumblr (which is why my post formatting may look funky) but i heard i got some nominations from a friend so here goes! btw if you want to read sweet nature precure for yourself, you can read it on ao3 and wattpad!

for fanseries of the year… Sweet Nature Precure! i recently finished writing and publishing it as of november 2023 so why not nominate it after the three years it took to complete? this series is my precious precious baby and these girls have been with me for nearly 10 years now. writing their story has been so amazing and i can’t even begin to put into words how much this story means to me 🥹

for best lead cure… Sora/Cure Lightning! she’s the blue cure in case you weren’t sure. anyways Sora is just such a fun leader to write imo. she’s kinda your average protag being not very smart and also having a lot of energy but she also has another side to her… an insecure side that deeply fears failure and letting others down. Lightning wants the others to believe in her as leader and sometimes her insecurities get in the way of that. but in the end, she really knows how to step up and bring everyone together as a leader.

and for best supporting cure… Suzuko/Cure Thunder! the red member of the group, Suzuko by far has the darkest and most tragic backstory of the crew. her life has been incredibly difficult from being kidnapped at a young age to being brutally tortured and beaten through her training to become one of Pollution’s best soldiers. of course she all goes along with it in hopes of getting the chance to finally return home, but unexpected things happen. she decides to pretend to become friends with Sora and Emiri in hopes of defeating the Precure, but instead she ends up loving them and when she risks getting killed for failing to complete her mission to defeat them, instead Suzuko is saved and given the chance to redeem herself by becoming Cure Thunder and fighting alongside the same friends who saved her life. and while changing sides doesn’t erase the years of pain and loss she experienced, Suzuko is determined to heal and move forward as best as she can. (can you tell who my favorite is lol)

anyways, i hope my silly rambling and artwork (most of which is kinda old lol) is enough for you to consider voting for my series and characters in the fancuries! and maybe this is also a sign that i need to start posting about my ocs here more haha. anyways, i appreciate the support that i may get!

Concept art for my precure fanseries, Monster Gyaru Precure!

This is a bit older, so their designs aren't fully up to date here.. But this is my lil team of sillies! Here's a brief overview of them (from right to left).. They will have their own posts dedicated to each of them eventually 💕💕

🎀Cure Beast - The Leader! Bubbly, sweet, brash, and very girly! Loves monsters and the supernatural, Gyaru and alt fashion, and food (she has a very big appetite)~ She can be very airheaded and doesn't think things through, but still always means well, always thinking of others~

🩸Cure Vampira - Outspoken, confident, and a bit spoiled (though one might say bratty)~ She too loves fashion, although unlike Cure Beast, she's actually quite scared of monsters and especially the dark. She tends to be quite cowardly when it comes to things she doesn't understand

🌙 Cure Luna - She is Cure Beasts childhood best friend! In contrast to Beast's very extroverted personality, Luna is much more shy and has many issues with self confidence. Still, her more reserved nature won't stop her from expressing herself through her art~ (Also, Luna and Vampira are sisters!)

👻 Cure Spectra - Cure Spectra is very.. quiet. But it isn't for a lack of confidence, she just never has much to say (but when she does speak it is straight to the point and blunt.) Because of this, she's the most observant in the group, and is the best at formulating plans. Her own personal passions are singing and photography, though she doesn't like people to know about her singing

🎉 Cure Party - She's the most energetic of the group (although she only beats Beast by a little bit) and is also the most emotional, dramatic, and carefree. She's also quite mischievous, loving to pull silly pranks on her friends (along with telling awful dad jokes and puns at any chance she can get)~ However, this causes her to struggle with taking things seriously

Ahhh sorry the writing and grammar sucks?? I'm not a good writer ( ；∀；) And again, I'll get into more detail about each of them and the story later (when I can actually figure out what I'm doing ahsjgsjdhsjsj)

AlliMocha Fancuries FYC Post!

Hi Hello, Pip Pip Cheerio! Fancuries is here once again! And boy do I have something to share this FYC post.

So, I haven’t worked on Bittersweet X Daydream in a hot minute if I'm gonna be honest. A lot of other obligations have been taking time away from my main fanseries sadly. BUT I do have one new thing to show you guys regarding it.

A redesign.

I KNoW I know I said no more redesigns, but after having these characters for so long, it's only natural that I'd want to change how they look. Specifically, there is only one character that I've redesigned so far anyway…

Lei Sandiego / Cure Spice

Essence: Charismatic

Often referred to as “The school beauty”, Lei is admired by almost all of her peers. Her amazing charisma, along with her intimidatingly cool and beautiful looks immediately captures everyone’s attention. But despite this, she’s really just a big fashion geek. She prides herself in her impeccable style savvy-ness and studies the latest trends all the time. Lei is also a very confident person, sometimes to the point that it can be overbearing, but she’s never arrogant and always means well. She’s a hopeless romantic and is constantly trying to look for someone who likes her beneath her looks. Although she’s fashion-centric she’s also very athletic, being the co-captain of the girls' volleyball team, and so devotes time to doing both hobbies.

That's not all, however, because I also have a new series that I've been working on. A crossover series if you will. Based on one of my favorite Disney movies of all time:

Sugar Rush! Precure

A group of girls go to the arcade after school every day to hangout. They excel at most of the consoles there, notably the racing games. One day, Vanelope finds a weird token like she had never seen before, as it was engraved with intricate patterns and a shiny gold. When she attempts to use it in a racing game, it flashes in the machine and floats out as another trinket (henshin item). At that moment, a mysterious person is creating havoc outside the arcade, clearly looking for something. He spots the trinket in Vanelope’s hand, and we all know what happens from here.

Yep! Cures based on the sugar rush racers from Wreck-It Ralph! So far, I only have 2 of their designs, but I'm still completely in love with where this is going. Speaking of which, lets show those two off!

Vanelope Von Schmitt / Cure Sweets

Age: 16

A very confident girl, Vanelope is definetly the ray of sunshine that brightens anyone’s day. She’s very friendly, but is also not afraid to tell it like she sees it. She also has a habit of being overly sarcastic or jokey, which can come off as annoying to others. Not really good at school and overly clumsy, so sometimes covers her negative emotions with jokes or sarcasm. Adores arcades and always states it’s her home away from home.

Tabitha Mathews / Cure Taffy

Age: 16

Very rich and spoiled and it definetly shows. She can be cocky and overbearing at times, but she’s got a good heart. One of the more popular girls in their school, and accells in all her extracurriculars. Due to her father being principal, people have rumored that all her grades were boosted due to nepotism, but that’s not true. She works hard to get where she is, and while vain and sometimes a little rude, she isn’t afraid to help others in need. Goes to the arcade to get away at times.

So that’s all I’ve been working on so far! I can’t really say I’ve done much with my fanseries over the years, but hopefully you all like what I do have!

I'm so glad you love Kira Kira so much!!! It's such an underrated season ahhhh. The only thing keeping it from my own top spot is the treatment of Rio. He's my favorite precure character of all time and I simply can't let it slide T-T

Oooh yes it's so good! Like, it has the most well-constructed character arcs for each of the cures of any season, most are more lopsided.

Like with Ichika! She loves making sweets, but she's not very good at it at first. She's not a lethal chef or anything, she just isn't very experienced and doesn't know a lot. I loved watching her slowly work together with her friends to learn how to bake. It's not like some instant thing, you just notice her slow improvement throughout the season.

She does have something she's naturally gifted at, and that's decoration! She's really good at decorating treats in a way that will bring joy to the person who receives them, to the point that Ciel, a baking prodigy, actually learns from her in that regard.

Himari's arguably the most blatantly autistic cure there's ever been, and that's saying a lot. She loves baking and is an expert on the chemistry of it. Unfortunately, she's been discouraged from sharing her passion in the past, since her classmates got bored with her infodumping about the subject. I love her character arc about learning to come out of her shell and finding a way to use her infodumping tendencies for good by finding a receptive audience who enjoys being taught by her!

Aoi has my favorite character arc of the Cures. I love how she was inspired by her idol to become a musician and rock out with her bandmates, and how she's going against what's expected of her because, surprisingly enough, she's the heir to a wealthy family. She doesn't have any interest in running the corporation though. I loved her finding her voice and standing up for what she wants to do!

Cure Chocolat has one of the prettiest designs in Pretty Cure, in my opinion! Akira's character arc has some weaknesses, but it's still compelling. She's got a sick little sister she's protective of, and she tends to put too much on herself. I didn't really like that the show emphasized those self-sacrificial qualities - seriously she's gonna burn out at some point - but otherwise she's great!

She also has one of the most blatant queer relationships in the show. Like Kira Kira never SAYS that Akira and Yukari are a couple, but it sure hints at it.

There's never been a Pretty Cure character quite like Yukari. Even Yui, who's also a cat, is pretty different from her. Like she has this thing going on where she's good at everything instantly and it gets boring, which is why macarons interested her - she actually FAILED the first several times and had to work at making those to make them good.

I don't even really know how to describe her, she's so catlike. I don't think she actually changes a lot like the others do, you just see more facets of her. I love how easily she's able to act and fool villains, making them think they have the upper hand when she's actually playing them like a fiddle.

So her starting off as this haughty, slightly conceited prodigy who didn't think much of Ichika's merely alright pastries (given that she's world famous and has trained under the fanciest bakers in Paris), but slowly grows to see that even if Ichika's actual pastries are lackluster, they have a lot of heart, a lot of Kira Kira in them, and trying to figure out why that is. Her whole breakdown when she realizes how she just... didn't see what Pikario was going through, why he freaked out and ran away, and how he was then infected with evil and taken advantage of and STILL refused to talk to her even after being purified... she became a lot better at reading people as the season went on. I really love how she reached out to Biburi especially. She might not have been able to do much to save her brother, but she can help her at least.

On the bright side, at least Pikario got to be the first guy to have a claim to being a precure? Even if it was just a temporary power-up and he didn't get a Cure name, he was still first on that.

Pikario's the second-best Heel-Face Turn character I've seen in Precure (sorry Pikario, but Setsuna takes the top spot). I love how understandable his motives are. He and his sister went to Paris to learn how to be bakers together, but she's improving by leaps and bounds while he's being left behind and is becoming more and more frustrated, and she's rarely even around anymore. And then the last straw, when he makes the waffles she complimented so highly before, only for her to tell him they weren't as good as the ones from before... it was honest, but no wonder he snapped.

I love that he and his sister still had things to work out afterwards and that all his problems weren't instantly solved once he was freed of the brainwashing, the underlying problems that caused him to be vulnerable still had to actually be fixed first.

He definitely got cheated, he was one of the most interesting characters in the season (and the franchise, honesty), but he was put in a coma for a substantial portion of the show and didn't get to join the team permanently. But what WAS there still makes him a top-tier character.

✧ vivipuri Fancuries 2024 Nominee Spotlight! ✧

So this is a bit of awkward timing to be nominated during this time as, admittedly, I’m still prepping for my fanseries so not everything is set in stone. But I happily accept all these nominations!

Viva la Vida! Pretty Cure has been nominated for four categories for the 2024 @fancuries: Best Fanseries Concept, Coolest Cure (Cure Aurea), Favorite Fancure & Prettiest Cure (Cure Platina)!

As Viva la Vida! Pretty Cure is still in its prep stage, I can only relay so much information without going into major spoiler territory, and I can’t guarantee these are all finalized. But please bare with me and I hope you can still consider my fanseries~

Best Fanseries Concept: Life and Death, Magic, Sorcery

The main theme is pretty heavy for Precure, even for a fanseries. But I’d like to take this opportunity as a fan creator to touch on a more mature series if Toei never will. The main girl herself (Yuki) struggles with the concept of death as she herself cannot cope with the death of her mother even years later, and I want to touch on this subject through her journey and the other girls who are yet to be revealed~ Along her time as a Precure and by the end of the series, she and her friends will learn to live life to the fullest (hence the name of this fanseries).

“Long live life”

The subordinates of the main villain are to be based on the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, with a motif being based around different horseriders throughout history (old west gunslinger, medieval ages knight, 18th century highwayman, ancient Japan bajutsu). I don’t want to paint death in an entirely bad light as it’s an inevitable fate, so the villains don’t really represent the death to the Precure’s life. They moreso represent rebirth but in a darker sense, but I’ll get into that another day.

Magic and Sorcery play a heavy role in the story of Yuki and the main plague doctor-based villain, Necro. Something to be revealed early on in the series is that Yuki’s late mother was a powerful sorceress, and Yuki will learn to harness this magic source that differs from the power of a Precure. Necro himself is a powerful sorcerer. His goals? I won’t reveal yet, but his character greatly parallels Yuki, especially at the end when Yuki learns to move on. 👀 That is all.

A tortured artist with a withdrawn and reserved nature, Yuki is unable to live life to the fullest. Venting her emotions on paper, she is constantly searching for the memory of the drawing she drew the day her mother died in hopes of finally moving on. However, behind her turmoil lies a kind and pure heart waiting to be discovered. As the angelic Cure Platina, she serves as the primary support for the team, providing healing through the power of holy light.

Height: 163 cm

The half-French Maria is cool and collected, albeit narrow-minded and easily impressionable. She hails from the Takara family, owners of a successful jewelry designer business, La Takara. Being the youngest daughter of four, she is left with no important position as a means to inherit and help run the business in the future, leading her to find her own purpose. Maria’s heart of gold has led her to become Yuki’s closest friend, but with her overprotective attitude, is there more than meets the eye? Meet the team members of my new series, Charming Fortune precure!

Fukuda Mitsuki: a 14 year old girl who seems to be the clumsiest and unluckiest girl on the planet. She doesn't let that get to her though, and tries to live her days with the biggest, cheeriest smile possible. She's childhood friends with Haruto, but struggles to make other friends because everyone else thinks she's 'weird' due to her habits of talking to herself. After meeting Lemon, she becomes Cure Lucky, the Pretty Cure of smiles and hopeful surprises. Her theme colour is green.

Hanamoto Akina: a 14 year old girl who was born mute. It caused her to become really shy and introverted, and she spends her days in the garden, growing all sorts of pretty flowers. Her first friend is Mitsuki, who is the first to put in the effort to find a way for her to communicate. She's a natural sweetheart, albeit flustered easily and still really shy even after making friends. After meeting her own fairy partner Orange, she becomes Cure Clover. the Pretty Cure of kindness and sweet surprises. Her theme colour is pink.

Igarashi Haruto: a 14 year old boy who has goals to become a comedian. He's well liked by everyone at school because of his extroverted, goofy attitude and bad jokes, but he still considers his best friend in the world to be Mitsuki. In his spare time he also plays as the drummer in a small band, and spends a lot of time playing games with his baby sister. After meeting Tiara, he becomes Cure Rainbow, the Pretty Cure of laughter and energetic surprises. His theme colour is rainbow.

Tiara: a 14 year old girl who was born into royalty. She lived a very easy life, with access to as many hobbies and talents as she could possibly want. When she got older and everyone around her was discussing her ideas for the future, she realised that she never picked the one talent she was good at. It took meeting Mitsuki and her friends to realise her love for the piano and singing, and she often plays along with Haruto in duets together. After meeting Haruto, she becomes Cure Gold, the Pretty Cure of wealth and rewarding surprises. Her theme colour is gold.

Together they are Charming Fortune Precure!

I decided to keep note of all my different thoughts while watching Wonderful Precure. I forgot to upload this a while ago, so here it is now!

Episode 11 - A Giant Creature Hiding in the Mountains?!:

- The classmate girl with the pigtails and red bows is so cute! I love her design!

- The amount of times Komugi opened her big mouth in this episode: 2(seriously girl, be more careful…)

- I love how Komugi’s dog attitude remains, even at school. Did you see how she zoomed over to her desk when the bell rang? She’s still super obedient!

- Satoru really thought he was going on a date with Iroha💀

- Dang, Iroha and Komugi need to slow down. Poor Satoru😭(@ when they left Satoru in the dust while hiking)

- Satoru is so sweet to remember Komugi!(@ him making dog safe cookies for her)

- Oh, it’s those fashionable old ladies again. I strive to be like them in my older years.

- Omg, I never noticed how Mayu has a little Yuki keychain on her bag. So cute!

- Omg?? Yuki as a human??? She’s so pretty! I didn’t expect her to be blonde. But I guess Wonderful Precure’s going for more natural hair colors for their civilian forms.

- How on earth did they hike all the way up that mountain? I would’ve died😭

- Those two girls giggling at Satoru definitely know about his crush on Iroha lol

- I love how Iroha still pets Komugi’s head, even when she’s a human!

- Dang Yuki, why are you eating so fast? The food’s not going anywhere💀

- Yuki does NOT like the owl camera lmao

- Awww Mayu’s so happy to have a friend🥺(@ her reaction when Iroha calls her her friend)

- Number of things Satoru taught me about animals in this episode: 2

- Yay, those old ladies again! I love them. I want to join their club.

- I love how Mayu’s mom sings “Nya nya nya~” it’s so cute!

greetings everypony, it is I Nemo Jokard. I come offering my fancures for the fancuries .

Here are my main fanseries:

Nature Shift! Precure

The Four Seasonal Kingdoms of Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter lived in harmony, protected by the precures. Until one of them went rogue. Regalia, the Winter precure, along with some other rogues, attacked the kingdoms with these monsters called Heartaches. The only one who can help them now is the Princess of Spring, Tupper who holds the 3 remaining seasonal keys. Can she find the new precure? (I don’t know, CAN SHE??)

Ayame Mizuki/Cure Vernal

Our resident pink cure of the team, she is spring themed. Ayame is a reserved girl who isn't great at socializing. She's a little lazy and tends to procrastinate, but she's trying to change that. She also panics on a daily basis and is in a constant state of screaming inside her head.

Kaori Natsumi/Cure Solstice

Our orange cure who is summer themed! Kaori is bright, energetic and seems to always be moving. She is kinda unreliable though and tends to forget things easily. She has a big sweet tooth and has a family sweets store called Natsumi♡Pastry. She's an optimist and can kinda annoy her teammates with her constant positive attitude. She has a bit of a competitive side.

Etsu Akino/Cure Fall (tumblr hates yellow)

Etsu is the yellow cure and mom friend. She's the one helping the other cures with their homework, scolding them, and discouraging them from doing bad things. Although she isn't without fault. She's very hardworking, which is good, but is prone to burning herself out with all nighters and club activities. She also tends to be the most passive agressive person ever. She learns to balance her life and leave time for herself.

Tulipa 'Tupper' Flora Leis Fleur Bouquet Laverne

Tupper is a meanie. She usually bosses the cures around and comes up with the strategies. She also gives the cures a lot of sass and criticizes their flaws. She obviously cares about them, she just sucks at showing it.

The fanseries themes are seasons, friendship, and change.

This was my first ever fanseries and I’ve probably done the most for this one. I’ve written ten episodes for them that you can read on Ao3 and wattpad ! (A rewrite of chapter 1 and chapter 11 are in the works !!)

Ahoy! Pirate Precure

About nine years ago, Umi Ishikawa met a mermaid! She's been obsessed with them ever since then and still carries the gift that the mermaid gave her. When her gift happens to be a treasure from the Cordelia Kingdom, she is hunted for theft. Suddenly a crab and parrot are talking and wait, is she transforming?!

Umi Ishikawa/Cure Ness

Umi is an airhead that is infatuated with mermaids. She's always wanted to live in the ocean. The mermaid obsession started probably when her parents went on a cruise and she was all alone by herself. Then suddenly she came face to face with a real mermaid. No one believes her tho. She loves swimming and wishes to live in the sea one day.

Yuzu Egawa/Cure Citrus

Yuzu is a sour girl who doesn't like much of anything. She's ready to sass anyone and everyone. Because of this she doesn't have many friends and throws herself in her studies as a result. She tends to be a know-it-all. Apparently she loves visiting the aquarium in her free time.

Nyoko Izumi/Cure Aurorus

Nyoko is a spoiled girl with a rich background. She's pretty annoying and tends to brag about her money. She's also very very competitive when it comes to swimming and often her & Umi compete. She's also a sore loser.

Shelly

The old advisor for Cordelia Kingdom. She's strict and crabby.

Parry

A parrot with powerful magic. It helps the cures in battle or sometimes it mocks them. Whatever Parry feels like doing.

The motif of this series is pirates and the main theme is treasuring life.

I don’t know when I’ll do more for this fanseries since it was originally made as a joke, but I might write it some day!

Beauty Guru Precure

The Queen of the Glamour kingdom was the Super Instant Influencer. She stood strong until the scandals attacked. She was dethroned, and in her last stitch efforts to pass on her wisdom, was to pass on her legendary Make Up Pallet to the Precure to fight the scandals. She handed it to Pinkity Drinkity her trusty snake.

Tomoko Ayano/Cure Guru

The first girl to awake as a Precure. Tomoko is an airhead with a bit of an ego. Her teammates keep her check. She isn't very smart, but tries her best! She's really into makeup and likes to experiment with different kind of looks. She transforms with the Aerie Lip gloss into Cure Guru. At first scared of Pinkity Drinkity and still kinda is. Lovingly calls the snake "Pinky."

Keiko Arai/Cure Blush

The second girl to awake as a Precure. Keiko easily embarrassed and has a short temper. She enjoys studying and has a one sided rivalry with Kagami. With the Periwinkle Compact, she transforms into Cure Blush. She loves Pinkity Drinkity to a fault. She calls her "Pink-chan."

Aimi Hitomi/Cure Shadow

The third person to awake as a Precure. She seems to keep to herself a lot and has a bad habit of bottling everything inside. Although when they are with Tomoko and Keiko, she seems to turn into a different person who can't keep their mouth shut. She transforms with the Goth Pallet into Cure Shadow. They so not lovingly refer to Pinkity Drinkity as Future Soup.

Kagami Ayano/Cure Cosmetic

Technically the actual first one to awaken. She helps the girls in a pinch, but always seems to keep her distance. She doesn't seem to want to get closer to any of the girls. An exception to this is Cure Guru, which the girls and Pinkity Drinkity find strange. (Of course this is because she’s Guru's twin sister, but shhhh, they don't know that.)

Pinkity Drinkity

The girls’ trusty snake partner in crime. She ventured out to find the legendary Precure and now that she found them, she’s a bit worried. She thinks the girls are too young to be fighting Madam Masquerade’s Scandals and fears for their safety. On the other hand though, she knows that the only thing she can really do is guide them as Precure.

Dragon Drinkity

Dragon Drinkity just screams a lot. She sometimes says wise things, but completely cracks under pressure. She was sent first to find the Precure of Lipstick and the Precure of Nail Polish.

The motifs of this series are angels and make up. The themes of this series are inner beauty and love.

This series also kind of started off as a bit of a one off thing. Might also get written someday but no promises!!!

Sew Magical

This fanseries is a crossover between lalaloopsy and precure! It admittedly no longer has a plot anymore but I did make some cute designs .

Live Laugh Love! Precure

Kasumi Ieiri is used to her simple life with her father where it's just the two of them against the world.. Well until it wasn't. Suddenly there's this whole new marriage and there's three random kids living with them! Tsumugi, one of the kids, is the same age as her, but that's where the similarities end. Tsumugi is quiet and you can never really tell what she's thinking. Kasumi is anything but quiet and is easily read.

However these two supposed sisters are now forced to work together when a monster comes marching at their front door and is terrorizing a poor helpless mascot who drops two items that resemble mood rings. The mood rings then fly onto Kasumi and Tsumugi, recognizing them as Precure! Kasumi transforms into Cure Haven and Tsugumi into Cure Comedy. They manage to defeat the monster and rescue the mascot! Who seems a little mortified about this whole development..

Omg new Nemo fanseries !? Admittedly this is kind of the first time im mentioning them and I haven’t thought abt them for a hot minute 👁️👄👁️💧 But perhaps I will work on them some day! Might even get around to drawing them. I really like duo seasons.

PRECURE ROSE SCREW!

Happy new year, everyone! I had meant to push this out by the 31st but I was busy with stuff, so now it's the first post of 2024 instead of the last post of 2023.

After our brief detour into the land of sweets, we return to the plot. Kurumi is hell bent on finding the last monarch, and Syrup begins to remember his past. Let's dig in!

The Plot

Rin mentions to Kurumi that blue roses aren’t found in nature, and in flower language they mean “miracles.” This causes Syrup to suddenly remember a moment  in the Cure Rose Garden, where he remembers seeing a blue rose. The girls summon King Donuts and he confirms that the Garden is the only place where blue roses are known to exist. After Milk explains how she got her powers from a seed that blossomed into a blue rose, he declares that she must have a special mission.

Flora is seen in the Cure Rose Garden, weakened, as the flowers wilt around her. At Eternal, Anacondy argues with the Director over this, with Anacondy saying that if Flora dies they'll be able to get to the Rose Garden more easily, but of course the Director wants her alive and empowered. Anacondy gives up and dispatches Isogin and Yadokan to capture the Rose Pact.

Kurumi skips school the next day to find the fourth monarch so she can go to the Cure Rose Garden and learn about her special mission, but Nuts eventually tracks her down and reminds her that they all need to work together, and she doesn't even have a way to capture a Palmin if she finds one.

Suddenly, Isogin and Yadokan attack. Kurumi transforms and insists she can take them on by herself, but they are too strong for her. Syrup swoops in with Coco and the other cures in tow to rescue Rose, but are quickly captured themselves.

Syrup manages to free Cure Dream, who gives Milky Rose a passionate speech to encourage her, so Dream and Rose team up to protect Syrup and the Rose Pact from I&Y. Their combined strength manages to turn the tide, and Nuts recalls the legend of the Red and Blue Roses: when they combine their powers, they’re more powerful. Coco and Nuts summon the Shining Fleuret and Milky Mirror for the duo, and they clasp hands to perform a powerful attack of spiraling energy that overwhelms and completely destroys I&Y. It harkens back to Cure Black and White’s Marble Screw attack.

Exhausted, Milk receives encouragement from the rest of the girls that they will work together to find the last monarch, get to the Cure Rose Garden, and meet Flora to find out what the mission of the Blue Rose is, and Milk does a little dance.

The Analysis

What I Liked

Syrup finally starting to become aware of his past, and learn how he connects with the girls’ mission is nice.

Dream and Rose working together evokes old school Black and White vibes. They don’t often truly combine their powers like this, and now we see what happens when they do. The finishing attack is so much like the Marble Screw, AND it was original animation for this episode, not stock footage. Of course, that means it probably won’t be used again, but it was nice in this instance.

We actually get an update on Flora’s status. She’s not doing so well, but we see it. On the other side of the conflict, we continue the dissension between Anacondy and the Director of Eternal and how they disagree over their goals. I’m looking forward to seeing how this ends.

What I didn’t like

The art and animation are done by Kawano Hiroyuki, resulting in a lot of long or off-model faces. I’ve spoken about him before, since he was in charge of episodes 31, 22, 15, and 7 of this series, as well as many episodes of each season prior to this. Read my rants about him there.

Considering this is Isogin and Yadokan’s final stand, they really did not leave any impression at all. Bunbee is Bunbee, the comic relief. Scorp was an extremely memorable villain and you could almost sympathize with him at times. Nebatakos was slimy and not likable but you enjoyed rooting against him. Shibiretta doesn’t have a whole lot going for her, but she at least allows for the episodes she’s in to take place in fun and unique settings. Mucardia is cunning and manipulative and I genuinely look forward to his episodes. But Isogin and Yadokan came out of nowhere, barely say anything, and always manage to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. I’m not sorry to see them go.

Miscellaneous

Rin’s remark that blue roses don’t occur in nature is actually true! I hadn’t realized it before now. The development of blue roses, either through dyeing or genetic manipulation, is relatively recent. She may be stretching their meaning, though. From what I found they're associated with mystery, secrecy, aspiration, uniqueness, and admiration. Nothing quite approaches the meaning of "miracles".

The beginning of the episode has some exposition about the game show and the trophy that the girls won in the prior episode, in a nice bit of continuity and world building.

The last monarch, King Montblanc, is referred to by name for the first time I think.

Conclusion

Some of my feelings here have more to do with spending 9 months working over the review of the movie than with the actual episode and its role in the series, but it is nice to get back to the main plot. The last several episodes didn’t do much to advance the overall narrative (although they were lovely character pieces), so to come back after so long and pretty much hit the ground running is nice. The episode opens with Syrup remembering his past in the Cure Rose Garden, we are given new drive and purpose and Kurumi is actively seeking out the next monarch. The prophecy of the Red and Blue Roses is brought to life for potentially the first time, and we get rid of the least memorable villain team in the show. Good stuff. My main complaint is in the art department, I’ve never been fond of this art director’s work. I will say that the fight scenes are well choreographed, with lots of jumping around, and I truly enjoy the dynamic reveal when Dream blocks the attack meant for Rose. It’s filled with inspiring messages and is all around a positive episode.

Next time, on Precure Daily, Karen has to put her doctoring skills to the test on King Montblanc. Look forward to it!

Delicious Party Precure Episode 7 Review - The Third Precure Joins

For a food themed premise, this show seems to focus more on eating and enjoying food rather than cooking, which is what a lot of food themed shows tend to do. While cooking is good, it’s nice to see another part of food themed premises that people don’t explore enough. While Yui and Kokone do enjoy eating, I think that Ran emphasizes the premise the best as she has so much passion and drive for food—she’s even a food microinfluencer!

Despite her enjoying food throughout the first six episodes, the food she is most passionate about is her family’s ramen. I’m not sure if Ran was exaggerating about how her family went through trials and tribulations to create the ultimate broth, but if it’s that good, it was worth the blood, sweat and tears. Her passion for ramen is what causes Mem-Mem, the last of the energy fairies to take an interest in her.

Ran as a character meshes well with the others. She’s bubbly, which balances Yui’s cheerfulness, Kokone’s reservedness and Rosemary’s composed nature. I do like that although she can see the Recipeppis, she doesn’t question it and just accepts it. She’s a lot similar to Yui in a sense. I do like that she gives her new friends nicknames once she officially joins them. Though, I do wonder why she hides the fact that she’s Chururin from the public. I guess it’s to have her private time to herself.

Membernu Churuchurutto Kurukururin Glutamine Memdragon, or Mem-Mem,  must be a real sleepyhead for him to be sleeping through 6 episodes of crazy misadventures that happened with his other Energy Fairy friends. To be honest, Mem-Mem is like my second favorite Energy Fairy design-wise. Look at him! He’s an adorable dragon! Like Ran, he’s passionate about noodles because he’s associated with them. I like how easy-going he is compared to sassy Pam-Pam and sweet Kome-Kome. I think it balances them out in a way.

I think this episode does confirm the student council president as Gentlu once and for all. Now, I wonder why she’s a part of the Bundoru Gang. I do know that she can use her position of authority to twist things around, as shown in the previous episode. But, if she went to Ran specifically, does she know she’s Chururin?

Cure Yum-Yum is a silly name, but I do love her design. I love that instead of going for the usual square, her designs are full of lines as she’s represented by lines. Her design’s so cute. It fits the Chinese theme with the twin buns and how her dress and bows make her look like a dragon. The ribbon is the cutest aspect of her design! I can’t stop gushing over how cute she looks! I think that out of the individual moves, I like her Cutter Lines the best! Though, I do think Mem-Mem yelling ‘Wonton’ during the transformation scene is a little random; I guess he has to yell out something…

Now that Ran joins the group, I can’t wait to see what she brings to the table not as comic relief but as a character. Though, I still can’t believe Rosemary mistook Mem-Mem for a stuffed panda. I know he was in a hurry, but still, feel the texture! What are your thoughts on the episode?

Quick Review of Hirogaru Sky Precure! CURE WING IS EVERYTHING!

As said, with Tumblr being a butt with allowing my reviews to show up in tags, I haven't done much reviews. I've been writing the review for Delicious Party Precure. I've just been super busy with other things and my anxiety had been for a while so haven't been in the mood but now with Cure Wing out, I feel like I should give my thoughts on the new series so far!

I feel like this has been a solid series so far. At first, I wasn't too won over in the first episode, even though Cure Sky/Sora is a power house and I relate to her in some ways, I wasn't buying it too much until we dove into more of Mashiro/Cure Prims, who up until now I gravitated towards but now that we have the BOY, wow!

Please note, I haven't watched episode 9 yet but I did see Cure Wing's transformation and attack and it is everything!

But before that, there are some stuff I wanted to get to. I like how this series as Leo from Magical Cinnamon Channel on Youtube has said, connects everything very neatly. Like how in episode 8 Mashiro explains that the kids were worried about Sora because she wasn't at school and everyone knows she's healthy and strong. I like how they try to give us a few twists and turns with certain scenarios we maybe familiar with. Like for one, our lead cure is not only a blue cure instead of a pink cure, but she's from another land and Mashiro is a Skylandian as well or at least descendant from one. We have a fairy turned cure that not only isn't the midseason cure but he's also the first male cure of the main team.

The animation is probably the best animation we've seen since probably in a while. I didn't hate Delicious Party Precure nor Healin Good Precure but in terms of animation, they really brought their A game with this one!

Sora I like okay, but maybe that's because she reminds me a bit of me that I think I don't gravitate to her as much. I mean, something about characters reminding me of myself too much has always been something off to me but I don't find her a bad character and she certainly is more interesting than any blue cure that came before her.

Mashiro is a great foil to Sora. She's not really the shy cute type and that's what makes her a great character. She seems one thing but she's also energetic without being a "Happy Go Lucky Type" or a "Shy Type". I like how she's logical too. She has common sense and brings everyone back down to earth!

Yoyo is also a nice little add as the mysterious grandmother but I'm glad she's doesn't know everything. I wasn't sure how I felt with her seemingly to know everything but when she shows legit concern, it comes across as natural and I started to like her more.

Ageha, I wasn't too sure of but she grew on me and I like the fact that she's kind of diva in which she can be bossy, but she's also understanding, supportive and ready to help. I was worried that she was gonna be another snob when we first got a look at her as Cure Butterfly but she's not and I'm glad.

And then of course, we have Tsubasa and he is everything! He's sweet, he's smart, he's shy but knows when it's time to speak up. He has a dream that is relatable in which wanting to achieve something but people make fun of you for it, but I like how his dream is a little more on the down to earth side. Not that we didn't have cures with realistic dreams, but I like how he actually learns a bit of the science about how to fly. I feel like we've seen cures achieve dreams but not really explain the details about those dreams like the overall work put in it. Maybe we have and I just don't remember.

I hate the fact people make fun of Tsubasa's hair! Like seriously! I honestly think it makes him look unique. The hair piece on top makes sense especially considering some birds have feathered crowns which seems to represent that in Cure Wing! I also think the emo thing makes him look different and honestly, may represent him as a character. I mean most people who do the emo thing are outcasts and he certainly is that among his tribe, he's the only fairy so far in his season to transform and most of all, he's the first male cure of a main team and the only boy in his group. I even think that his hair may even represent a "broken wing" because he felt useless not being able to fly, only for "his wing to be repaired" once he becomes Cure Wing, this that part of his hair goes up when he transforms.

Elle Chan is okay. She's a baby and not much to her but I did get get misty eyed when she was missing her parents.

Now the I wouldn't say bad parts but yeah I don't like Kabaton. I think they were trying to do a "Close" type thing but make him more goofy so he didn't scare kids and he just doesn't do it for me. If you like him and many do, more power to you. I guess it makes sense cuz I thought he was saying "Underdog energy" when I realize he means "Under ground energy". So pigs are earthy creatures and he's an underdog because he's a punk but yeah...Not the best. I do like it when the cures literally tell him to shut up and stop hogging the screen time, that self awareness is beautiful! XD

Overall, I think this series is solid so far and may join the ranks among the best precure seasons if continues working like this. The animation is beautiful and stellar, sometimes the story is slow in some parts but overall, the music is solid and the characters are well likeable with the exception of a weak first henchman. I won't give it a rating just yet! We'll see how it goes!

Yumeiro Patisserie ~ one of the sweetest anime I’ve watched! ( pun fully intended. ), it centers a girl who adores sweets and wants to enjoy them like her grandmother; who was a baker! She gets scouted for a prep school to be a pastry chef!! 10/10 - cute visuals, teaches a lot about baking, and is just an overall fun watch! ( Available on Hi-Dive! ).

Blend S ~ one of my all time favorite anime and series in general! It’s rather short, but definitely worth the watch! It follows Maika, a girl with a naturally sadistic face - who’s truly friendly, being found by the manager of a maid cafe; where each maid plays a different personality! It’s very sweet n cute - and has very cute visuals! All of the characters are likable, imo - and I’m hoping for a season 2 someday. 😢. ( Available on Crunchyroll! )

Tokyo Mew Mew ~ one of my favorite manga n anime series! It follows five girls who have been infused with the DNA of endangered animals; and have to go undercover working at a cafe to scout out different things for missions! It’s very sweet and cute! The OG series is currently on YouTube; and the remake is on Hi-Dive!

Kimi Ni Todoke ~ a super cute story and cast; with a third season in the works at Netflix! It follows Sawako, a girl who people find scary due to her resemblance of an iconic horror character ~ the only person who sees her for she truly is popular boy, Kazehaya, and this begins the start of a beautiful friendship and eventual romance! Very cute, and almost every character is likable!! ( Available on Crunchy Roll and Netflix! There’s also a live action adaptation of the series on Netflix! ).

Ouran High School Host Club - A classic shojo series that is about scholarship student, Haruhi, who just wants a quiet place to study and ends up finding herself in a music room turned host club for the wealthy students of Ouran High School; while trying to leave - she ends up breaking a vase and having to pay by being a host club member… all while faking her identity as a boy and getting into chaotic situations with the other members of the club! The series is pretty much on every streaming platform, but the ones I know of are Crunchyroll, Netflix, pretty sure it’s also on Hulu!

CardCaptor Sakura - my all time favorite anime and manga, and ultimately what got me into this type of media! It follows 10 year old, Sakura, as she finds a book in her father’s study and it releases mysterious cards, that she has to retrieve before they end up in the wrong hands! The entire series is adorable + and all the characters are likable and end up being supportive of each other. The series is on Crunchyroll and Netflix!

And finally, Onegai My Melody! It follows Uta Yumeno, who just wants to impress her upperclassman crush, with her violin playing skills - but ends up trusting the wrong person, naughty bunny, Kuromi! This causes chaos until she meets My Melody, and the two become the best of friends while trying to stop Kuromi from using her evil magic!

PreCure Predictions for 2024

Per someone’s comment from 2021’s post: I know some of these are repeat themes. That’s why I put “another.” PreCure does repeat its themes or sub themes sometimes—like this year, which is technically the second sky themed season.

Another flower-themed season but all the Cures are named after flowers

Another animal season but, like, without the sweets thing (the animal theme was wasted in KiraKira, let’s be honest)

Elemental Precures, the core four and maybe light or lightning as a fifth. The Healin’ Good, Go!Princess, Smile, and Yes! 5 teams were actually kinda elemental, but I would a want a more solely-elemental theme.

If not elemental, then maybe seasonal Precure? I’m still holding out hope even though we have a Cure Summer already.

Another career season but they don’t do shit like dress a Cure like a flight attendant and then tell us she’s an ice skater

Color-themed?? I know the Cures are already color themed but like a whole season around colors. Maybe they have to protect a magic rainbow or something. Plot twist if one of them is colorblind

I have to write some explanations on why I like my ships. Some of them are not in the original tier list, so I'll write everything here.

OTPs:

Jellowshipping: obviously the ship that I adore the most. I love how they support one another, how they spend time together on everyday things.

How Mallow makes sure Lillie is safe. How Lillie looks at her with heart eyes and- (I would write a papyrus about it) the last hug in JN. Also they referenced Utena, a yuri anime.

Eternalhoneymoonshipping: The best adult couple in Pokeani. They are so natural with each other, and I found Burnet's crush on Royal Mask funny. They became Ash's second family and gave him a little sibling too!

Contestshipping: rival to lovers trope. I like it. And the waterfall scene was memorable. I still wonder how May didn't realize that the roses were actually for her. And I still wonder why it isn't canon.

Journeyshipping: People know how much I like this. How Goh struggled to make friends and found Ash in a fateful encounter with Luigia. How both of them are complementary but similar in their dedication to their dreams (and both crazy enough to jump on Luigia). How Goh fell for him after Ash protected those Bulbasaur and then when it was confirmed in the Gengar episode.

Also that spin hug. The biggest regret of mine is the Journeys anime being a mess in its writing. And sadly, how much this is treated like a joke or a disgusting thing from the most popular poketubers and pokemon fans in general.

Appealshipping: Everytime Zoey walks in, the music became softer and Dawn became a blushing mess. Also Zoey helped her a lot in the DP anime, like a prince charming.

This is so underrated. Also it has the trope of butch/femme like HaruMichi (Sailor Moon) and Yukira (Kirakira precure à la mode). Yes, they remind me of them.

Waterwarriorshipping: "the most beautiful woman in the world?" Those are canon Lana lines, not even a fanfic! They are both tomboys, water lovers, and have a really good chemistry! I wish I could have seen them together more.

Moonlightblossomshipping: I don't get why this ship gets so much hate. They complement each other well, both in character design and personality, and they had really nice moments together. I loved all of the scenes in Dawn's return in the first two episodes, and I was annoyed that the writers "forgot" to make them interact in the second special.

I like how in other anime the pink girl is a cheerful, energetic girl and the blue one is more calm and reserved, and for Kohahika it's switched.

Botiqueshipping: This was my first Serena ship, and I cherish it dearly. They are so sweet together!

Rocketshipping: When I was little I thought they were married. This is my first OTP of my childhood, and I didn't know what ships are. They are so funny together and I was happy to know they were really married in a manga (electric tale of pikachu, but honestly I'm not a fan of it.)

You can see them as t4t, bi4bi or genderfluid and it still fits.

Pokshipping: I think people will hate me for this. I respect people who don't like this or see them more as a brother and sister, because I can see them as both romantic and platonic.

I think Misty's personality did fit well with OS Ash's one. Their relationship trope was one of the most used in the 90s anime, as well as the slapstick comedy. People often belittle Misty saying she was just rude to Ash, but, like I said, it was 90s comedy style and Misty saved Ash's life multiple times.

Yayoi is a shy girl with a big heart. She once was depicted as a crybaby, "crying over the slightest nudge." Though she has a few friends, she mostly kept to herself due to her shy and modest nature. Now that she has made a few friends, she has become more outgoing and passionate about being a PreCure, especially the superheroic elements. She is quite bubbly and sweet, and while she may appear as a crybaby, she is actually quite strong when it comes to protecting her friends and making the right decision.

Nao Midorikawa/Cure March:

Age: 14

Nao is a plucky girl with a strong sense of justice, and has no tolerance for wrongdoers. An old sister-type, she is popular, even with the girls.

Reika Aoki/Cure Beauty:

Reika is an awe-inspiring yet kind girl. She is elegant and quiet yet quite understanding. She is also quite modest, and hates to put anyone through trouble, going so far as to initially refuse any help.

Candy is very girly and fond of fashionable things, like hairstyles, cosmetics, and playing dress-up. She can also be a bit strict about Miyuki and the girls' status as PreCure, but she still is a child, so she is easily distressed and can be a crybaby now and then.
