If you asked the LiB what their favorite and least human food was.
P: Well I've recently enjoyed iced caramel frappes, Paul was right about one thing before I showed him the light it's just the right amount of sweet and bitter. As for least favorite probably white chocolate, it's just too sweet and not really chocolate.
B: It might just be because I've been running an amusement park but I will sometimes enjoy a corn dog with mustard and a grape slurpy when brain storming and popcorn when I'm watching. Least favorite foods are anything that's really spicy.
T: Easy, cheesy garlic bread. Least favorite, is Hawaiian pizza mostly because it's Teddy Bear's least favorite.
N: There's just too many things to choose from. I like honey buns, strawberry ice cream, apple pie, lollipops, oh I just tried some chocolate covered bacon and that was so good. Least favorite umm, I'm not that fond of stuff with lots of vinegar I guess but I'll still eat it.
W: Calamari, it's a squid eat squid world out there or however the saying goes. Least favorite is probably apples, I don't get why Willey is eating them all the time.
(Bonus) W: I'd probably go with steak cooked medium in herb butter for favorite. Spinach is my least favorite, yes I know that's a little kid answer but I don't care.
hell yeah this is great

Wellness Wednesday:
Back To Reality
I will admit that it felt uneasy taking a week long Thanksgiving vacation from work, but once I got in the thick of lounging around I didn't give work a second thought.
What did I do?
Not much - and it was spectacular!
I only left my hideaway twice - once for snacks and once for entertainment - the rest of the week was jam packed with lounging and gaming (VR and Boardgames).
I ended up leaving my vacation dreading going back to work and slightly addicted to VR gaming.
Oh! And one other note - one side effect from losing weight that I discovered - apparently I lost all the good cushioning in my butt and now I can't handle sitting in a car longer than 2 hours. My rear end was killing me - absolute worst part of the vacation - and to be honest there could have been worse things.

Closing Thoughts:
The Good:
I had a nice relaxing week away from work.
Caught up on some reading and actually finished two books on top of a stack of comics.
The Bad:
Neglected some chores during my time off and now I have some cleaning/tidying up to do.
The Ugly:
Although my week was relaxing - my sleep schedule was definitely thrown for a tailspin. Been lowkey exhausted all week and have been haphazardly falling asleep randomly in the middle of the day.

The above are some quick versions. They aren't precisely the same since most pepperoni rolls use more of a bread-like dough. But if you want an idea of what they taste like, are short on time, and or don't have a rolling pin to roll out dough, these will give you a decent idea of why pepperoni rolls are so good.
Also, while the slider recipe uses Hawaiian rolls, you can sub pretty much any hamburger bun-type roll and get a similar food.
fun bit of trivia about my region of the states (north appalachia)
we have this food called pepperoni rolls (which i only learned a couple years ago are NOT ubiquitous across the country???)
they're pepperoni and sometimes a bit of mozzarella cheese rolled up in bread dough and baked, which makes the pepperoni grease/seasonings leach into the bread
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/bbaf7ce72a1c5694345a7290e1f799c6/47eee6833ebea32b-f7/s540x810/2f155a3b74cb35b4069871a30d5a98d12bc01407.jpg)
everybody has their own method of rolling them and preferred size and preferred proportion of ingredients, but they tend to look something like this
they're often made in semi large batches, like a dozen or so
and they're good to eat warm, especially dipped in some marinara sauce
but more commonly, in the days after that, they're eaten cold/at room temperature. because the low moisture content and high salt and whatnot mean they can be left out of the refrigerator for several hours without spoiling
this made them extremely popular back when coal mining was the area's biggest industry. they could be packed in a miner's lunch box with no refrigeration and eaten for a decent source of protein. and similar went for steel millers and factory workers
and they just kinda became a regional staple over time from there
specifically, kids in school seemed to go hogwild for the things. like, our school band had, on top of standard bake sale type fundraisers, pepperoni roll sales. kids LOVED having Coal Miner Food in their lunches.
this is all to say: The Children Yearn For The Mines

Hawaiian Beef Sliders with Pineapple Slaw Recipe Pineapple slaw adds crunch to these tasty beef burgers served on slightly sweet Hawaiian slider buns. 1/2 can pineapple tidbits in juice, 1.25 pounds 90%-lean ground beef, 1/4 teaspoon liquid smoke, 1 egg, 1/2 cup chopped red onion, 1 teaspoon rice vinegar, 6 ounces shredded cabbage, 1 tablespoon low-sodium soy sauce, 2 teaspoons minced fresh garlic, 1/2 cup chopped green bell pepper, toothpicks, 12 canned pineapple chunks, 1 package Hawaiian bread rolls, 1/4 cup mayonnaise, 1 teaspoon sesame oil, 1 green onion sliced, 1/2 cup chopped red bell pepper, 1/4 cup dry bread crumbs, 1 pinch salt and ground black pepper to taste

I don't like the sweet flavor in bread, and I can't stand Hawaiian buns. However, when I was a kid in middle school I couldn't figure out what I didn't like about the bread, but I had to pack a sandwich for lunch, so I had to figure out some way to mask the flavor. At this point in time, I had just realized that you could put condiments on a sandwich. I didn't realize that you could put more then a thin layer of lunch meat on the sandwich, or tomatoes/lettuce. So my options were fairly limited in trying to cover up the sickeningly sweet flavor of the bread. My solution? The sandwich idea that I designed and implemented with all of my 4th grade intellect?
A turkey and ketchup sandwich. Together, the turkey and ketchup creates a strong metallic flavor. It doesn't taste good. It did somewhat cover up the flavor of the bread. That's innovation right there. Penny flavor > bread flavor. Today I just eat sourdough.
#sandwiches#my stuff#this would also have been better if I realized you could put more than 2 slices of lunch meat on a sandwich

Avoiding Kitchen Bloopers: Perfecting Kona Sweet Bread
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/0ebb8f15f5daa1343b992ed328c78bd7/df0106e2433c30d5-57/s540x810/29cda202d2738a23486cc004d4ea2bd63efed24a.jpg)
If you're a fan of Hawaiian cuisine, you may have heard of Kona Sweet Bread, a traditional Hawaiian bread that is known for its soft, fluffy texture and sweet flavor. Drawing from our experience, we can attest that Kona Sweet Bread is a delicious and versatile bread that can be enjoyed on its own or used as a base for a variety of sweet and savory dishes. With a rich history that dates back to the sugar plantations of Hawaii in the early 1900s, Kona Sweet Bread has become a staple in Hawaiian cuisine and a popular choice for locals and tourists alike. In this article, we'll take a closer look at Kona Sweet Bread, its history, and some of the delicious ways it can be enjoyed. More Delicious Recipes You Will Love: - Mastering Jamaican Buns: Avoiding Kitchen Mishaps - Lasagna Al Forno – Tutto Italia Ristorante - Lemon Garlic Shrimp Spoodles Recipe: A Delicious and Easy Meal For the last few months, I’ve been cooking a lot of yeast bread. I freely admit, I used to be an idiot with all things yeast-related. Didn’t matter what it was, how fresh or foul the yeast was, I’d always manage to mess it up. After years of avoiding all recipes that required me to work with yeast, I found a recipe on Pinterest that claimed to be so easy that even I could do it. I decided to try and overcome my yeast-related anxiety and give the recipe a shot. Lo and behold, when all was said and done, I had a gorgeous loaf of bread. From there, I ventured to try other yeast breads and recipes, almost all with overwhelming success (the exception to the rule was a loaf of bread I under-baked… Whoops). I was feeling so amazingly confident that my yeast curse had finally been defeated that I even bought two bulk packages of yeast from BJ’s Wholesale, giving me the resources to make about 20,000 loafs of bread. Well, it seems like every once and awhile, the Culinary Gods look down on somebody and say that they need to be put back in their place. They’re too confident in their abilities and, as such, they randomly determine that a recipe is going to fail for no particular reason. It’s happened to everybody… The recipe they follow exactly which doesn’t do what it’s supposed to do, the sauce you’ve made a million times that won’t thicken, the family recipe that you could make blindfolded that, for some reason, just isn’t coming together right… In my case, the Culinary Gods decided I was getting too cocky with my ability to bake something required to rise and sent down their little invisible lightning bolt and zapped my yeast. This recipe for Kona’s sweet bread, by all accounts, is amazing and easy to make. That is, if you get your stupid yeast to do it’s one, very basic job. I, unfortunately, did not. As a result, after the hour long rise time, I had a lump of dough that weighed as much as a bag of bricks and looked exactly the same as it did before I put it in to rise. Not the fault of the recipe, but the fault of me, though I blame the yeast and it’s irritability. I’ve been told a million times by professional chefs, even the fine folks at King Arthur Flour who were nice enough to let me poke around their kitchens for a day, that sometimes dough doesn’t rise and that I shouldn’t think badly of myself for having a batch of dough fall flat (or not rise at all). That’s all well and good, but I think I’m going to have to take this recipe as a sign from the Disney Gods that perhaps I need to lay off my obsession with the Polynesian and focus on other places to eat around WDW… In addition to the delicious food and recipes, Disney World is also known for its unique dining experiences, such as character dining and themed restaurants. Whether you want to have breakfast with Mickey Mouse, dine in a replica of a sci-fi drive-in theater at Hollywood Studios, or enjoy a meal with an ocean view at the Coral Reef Restaurant in Epcot, there's something for everyone. And with the help of Recipes Today and the How to Make category, you can even recreate some of these magical dining experiences in your own home. So why not start planning your next Disney-inspired meal or dining experience today? Read the full article

#KingsHawaiian #KingsHawaiianSweetTopSlicedHotDogBuns #SweetHotDogBunsReview
I tried the King's Hawaiian Sweet Top-Sliced Hot Dog Buns and these were pretty good.
These buns firm but soft and were lightly sweet. These didn't taste dense bready but light and airy bread while a little crunchy. These were sweet but lightly sweet to me. These were convection ovened.
I would eat this again.
Got from the Kroger Bakery Clearance.

Here are the homemade Hawaiian rolls from the video of the dough. I didn't make them as sweet as the original recipe called for and I liked them way more to be honest. This recipe makes a monster amount of rolls. I made 12 originally and they were huge so if you like smaller rolls and not adult large hand fist sized rolls, make 24 out of this dough.
So here's my version.
1 tbsp yeast 1 1/2 cup water 1/2 cup pineapple juice 1 tsp salt 2 tbsp sugar 3 eggs, one reserved for brushing the last few minutes of baking. flour ( remember , I don't measure my flour entirely but you should start with 2 cups here and add to in increments of 1/8th cup)
Add the pineapple juice, sugar, water and yeast into your mixing bowl and let the yeast bloom for a few minutes
beat in the eggs, salt and start with the 2 cups of flour. It's gonna be a sticky mess for a few minutes until you get the right amount of dough. I really recommend using a stand mixer if you have one for this but I know thats not a reality for some.
Your going to keep adding in flour 1/8th cup at a time until the dough is smooth, soft and stretchy but not sticky. You want it a hair tacky but not much at all. It takes some practice but once you get that texture down, its easy peasy from there on o9ut making bread.
Once you get it to that texture, divide it into 12 ( for large bun like rolls) or 12 normal rolls. Different people do it different ways but I usually oil my hands real well, them roll and fold into balls. ( if you don't oil your hands you will need to oil them in the pan)
Put them spaced evenly in a baking pan and tent with a damp kitchen towel or paper towel. Let rise for 30ish-50 minutes (will vary due to kitchen temp)
Remove towel and bake for 20-30 minutes. On the last 10 minutes, brush with the reserved egg..
I know it's hard, but let them cool a little bit before indulging.

Ep 14: Jack McBrayer, 12:58
JM: Let’s get some, um—Hawaiian rolls. Hawaiian King’s rolls. E, J: [noises of fascination] E: I’ve never had a Hawaiian roll. J: I’ve never—now, the shoe is on the other foot. E: [laughing] JM: Oh! J: Because now, you have to explain to us. JM: I mean—they’re just like little buns, but they’re quite sweet. But they’re bread—it’s not like a dessert bread. J: Right. JM: So you can put like little sliders in there, and they just taste real good. J: Oh, that’s quite nice. E: Are they quite shiny on top? JM: They are. E: Right, okay. I think I can visualize it now. Sweet, little shiny rolls. J: Sounds like a brioche kind of—is it a brioche type of, thing? Affair? JM: [pause] [lower] I don’t know what that means. E: Okay, so brioche— [laughing] J: Brioche! [laughing] E: A brioche is like a big Hawaiian roll. JM: So this is an episode of just explaining what food is— [laughing] J: D’you know what, it’s good! We’ve recorded a lot of episodes, it’s high time we had one where we just, in detail, explained every single what the concept of each thing is. E: [laughter]

Avoiding Kitchen Bloopers: Perfecting Kona Sweet Bread
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/0ebb8f15f5daa1343b992ed328c78bd7/a2ed947f6b830513-9b/s540x810/db4a887c9a6ae5cc989af5af12c78e057fc71429.jpg)
