I couldn’t find an artist credited for this 1979 Swedish cover to Gianni Montanari’s Daimon, although there is a signature visible to the left-hand side.
Edit: It’s Oliviero Berni. Someone on Twitter found it credited on a 1982 German publication.

| Besökarna (1988) by Joakim Ersgård | starring Kjell Bergqvist, Lena Endre and Johannes Brost | Horror/Thriller |
Besökarna (Eng. title The Visitors) is a Swedish horror/thriller movie I watched some time ago with a friend. We mostly chose it at random as it was on Netflix and we have a thing for old semi-tacky movies.
The plot centers around a young couple, Frank (Kjell Bergqvist) and Sara (Lena Endre) who move in to a secluded old house in the countryside with their two children. As one might imagine strange things start happening; wallpaper keeps falling down without explanation and wet footsteps appear in the attic. Frank contacts a paranormal investigator, Allan (Johannes Brost). Together they investigate the mysterious attic and unravel the house's history.
The movie is very much a product of the 80's and far from a masterpiece. It is a fun time though and does manage to get some suspence going, although I have a hard time calling it scary. The vibe is kind of silly in an accidental yet charming way. The effects and acting are good enough. The movie also features a fed up mailman just trying to do his job goddammit. I do think it's interesting and fun that the husband is the one who knows about the ghost and is thus the one deemed crazy, all too often I think movies rely on the "delusional hysterical woman" thing.
Funny quotes:
"Ja men skratta då för fan!" roughly translating to "Fucking laugh then!"
And following a conversation about peacock sexual dimorphism at the dinner table:
"Hanen måste göra sig fin för honan och sen kan dom para sig."
*slams glass on the table*
"I det här huset säger vi knulla!"
Translation:
"The male needs to make himself look nice for the female and then they can mate."
"In this house we say fucking!"
Overall I think it's worth a watch if you're into horror and older movies! It might be hard to find an English translation or subtitled version though(?)
My score would be maybe a 6/10 for production and a 7/10 for enjoyment.

Border [Gräns] (2018)
There is beauty in finding a space where you belong, where you can express yourself in the most authentic way, even if it doesn’t conform with what the mainstream would deem “normal,” for lack of a better term. As we come to know Tina—which in time is revealed to be the deadname for the troll Reva—the story begins to show its hand. This is a classic coming out story of self-acceptance after a life of denial which was aided and abetted by an apathetic, alternately passively and actively oppressive society. Reva appears different from others, perceives the world differently. In some ways that distinguishes her from others, such as her unique relationship to nature and wildlife, which makes for the only positive moments in her life for the first half of the film. She is uniquely unsuited for domesticity, even if she’s trying to convince herself that she’s not a square peg in a round hole: even pets like dogs can sense something is different. Her ability to sense human guilt or shame is useful, whether working as a customs agent or serving as attaché in a police investigation of a child trafficking ring. But by and large people abhor her. A chance for discovery comes in the form of someone similar to her, the traveler Vore who is much more comfortable with the skin he lives in. Cue the usual steps: initial rebuffs, a fraught moment that pushes the pair together, okay they’re kissing now, trolls kiss like middle schoolers giving it their first shot, oh they’re getting more passionate okay ohMYGOD THEY REALLY ARE GOING ALL OUT WHAT IS HAPPENING It’s wonderful to see a film which goes for something so outside of classic portrayal of love and really leans into it, but holy cow do I have some images seared into my retinas after that. The film normalizes all of this, shoots these sequences with all of the usual tropes and headiness of cis-het romance scenes, while letting this pair explore their love without judgment.
Where things fall apart to a degree for me is in the inexplicable twists and turns of the perhaps not even really necessary crime B-story. Reva and Vore have differing views on humanity. Newly learning of her true heritage, Reva is still bound to the human world. Vore, however, is angry at humanity for all of the atrocities they’ve committed against the planet and his people. But when the film suddenly decides to reveal his role in the criminal enterprises Reva has assisted in bringing to justice feels sloppy and baffling. It’s one thing to portray a character with a wholly different sense of morality, but here it just feels slapdash. Cracks begin to show in the structure of that entire substory. Some hand-waving is fine in an allegorical story like this as far as I’m concerned; as long as the intent is clear, that’s what really matters. But here, how does the Swedish justice system even work such that breaking into a home to obtain evidence can somehow count and therefore advance the plot? It reeks of convenience. Later, after Vore’s involvement comes to light, he becomes more of a chaotic anarchist figure with whom Reva must reckon. He’s always been unapologetically himself, but it’s hard to sympathize with a radical activist type of figure when they’re kidnapping fucking babies. What even happens to the neighbors’ baby? Fuck them, I guess? Oh yeah, now here’s a random baby you have to care for, Reva. Vore seems more and more like a real stand-up troll.

I think I've been temporarily posessed by the @astercontrol Pattern Recognizer. Or maybe the universe is just trying to tell me something, though I have no idea what it might be.
See, I have had this half-joking, half-serious headcanon for a while, about the character Allenby Beardsley from the anime Mobile Fighter G Gundam. For those of you not familiar with her, she's a mech pilot hailing from Sweden (or technically "Neo-Sweden" in the sci-fi future universe of the series), and she pilots a giant robot named the Nobel Gundam, which inexplicably is designed to look like Sailor Moon. This is especially weird in the context of the series, which contains multiple mech pilots from different countries, all piloting robots that are somehow based on national stereotypes. So while the name "Nobel Gundam" makes sense (named after Alfred Nobel and the Nobel Prize), I have no idea what a Japanese magical girl anime has to do with Sweden.
Anyways, my headcanon is based on the following aspects of the character:
The name “Allenby Beardsley” is definitely not a traditional Swedish name. In fact, it consists of two English surnames, and is thus gender neutral.
Allenby pilots a mech that looks very feminine, but is named after Alfred Nobel, a man.
The blue hair.
From this, I have decided that Allenby Beardsley is nonbinary, goes by they/them pronouns, and that they chose their name themself.
Now, here's where things get weird. I've had this half-joking headcanon for a while, but yesterday, I discovered that there's a comedian/actor who goes by they/them pronouns, named... Ally Beardsley. And I thought "haha, that's a funny coincidence"...
...but then, today, I discover "Alienby Comics" ( @alienbycomics ), by a they/she creator, who has explained that the name is a portmanteau of "Alien" and "Enby".
So now I'm basically like this:
#Gundam#Mobile Fighter G Gundam#G Gundam#Allenby Beardsley#Ally Beardsley#Alienby Comics#headcanon#nonbinary#nonbinary headcanon#pattern recognition#blue hair and pronouns

where did he say he likes fantasy? was it an interview? i want to know 😭 he is so adorable person
He mentioned it very briefly in a S3 NN promo film (easy to find then I guess lol) when asked about movies I think and he mentioned he likes fantasy and sci-fi if I remember correctly.
He talked about his own fantasies in his “Sommarprat” . He says he had a lot of imagination as a kid and made movies in his head. And he loved dinosaurs and when he didn’t have toys, he used his hands as dinosaurs. His Swedish dad even got so worried for him and took him to a psychiatrist since he had so much fantasy and played and created his own worlds. And the psychiatrist just said that they shouldn’t make fun of or laugh at him, but let him use his imagination and fantasy and it makes him happy and he is just being a kid. And it was also useful for him as a kid when he was lonely when moving to Sweden. It seems like a wonderful trait having the ability to entertain yourself and be creative and use your imagination like that.
Find the Sommarprat below with subtitles. If you haven’t listened to it, I highly recommend it. It’s beautiful and he really opens up about his life and he is such a good storyteller.

“My friend, can your heart stand the shocking facts about grave robbers from outer space? Can you handle unspeakable horrors from outer space paralyzing the living and resurrecting the dead?”
On this day 65 years ago (22 July 1959), gloriously inept and twisted b-movie visionary Ed Wood Jr unleashed his much-ridiculed el cheapo sci fi horror thriller Plan 9 from Outer Space (original title: Grave Robbers from Outer Space) – frequently derided as the worst film ever made – on an unsuspecting and mostly oblivious public. Pictured: the dream team of cadaverous glamour ghoul Vampira (aka Maila Nurmi) and hulking Swedish wrestler Tor Johnson.
