Jeremy Strong, in this New York Times article by Kyle Buchanan from October 10 2024, referencing The Apprentice said,

“I 100 percent see it as a human tragedy, the way that I saw “Succession” as a tragedy of late-stage capitalism.”

…and I just want to say, I think Jeremy Strong got Succession more than most which is of course what we would expect from him and that gives me so much peace in a world surrounded by people (on other websites, not this one duh) who thought the only point of the show was finding out who “won.”

The birthday dinner scene where Roy is sat as far away from Trump at the end of the table as possible next to Ivana and he shows Ivana the diamond cufflinks and she tells him the cufflinks are worthless before they bring out the cake decorated with sparklers instead of candles so he can’t blow them out. Trump couldn’t have been bothered to buy him nice enough cufflinks to be buried in. Such a pitiful ending and because of Jeremy’s performance, I actually cried
