History/Background:

Omara and Obi-Wan were inducted into Jedi Training around the same age and were in the same padawan classes- their masters also knew each other. They grew up together, and became best friends within the first year of their training. By the time they graduated to Masters they had a bond closer than any best friends or siblings in the galaxy.

Obi-Wan has always been the golden child that follows all the rules to the letter and tries to keep the peace, while Omara is the more chaotic neutral, troublemaking and rebellious one- even as middle aged jedi masters. While training at the Jedi temple as young padawans, Omara was constantly trying to bend the rules, find loopholes in the code, and sneak out. This left Obi-Wan usually trying to stop her or having to cover for her.

(The Jedi Council favored him over pretty much every one else so he could get away with murder if he wanted- even if he never did. This meant he could take the blame for whatever Omara did and not get in as much trouble and the Council will still think he’s the perfect golden child. Omara doesn’t mind this at all, since she never really wanted the Council’s approval anyway and it meant she could do whatever she wanted.)

The two did have to split up for a few years as the war pushed the Jedi to spread out, but they tried to stay in contact as much as possible. They and Obi-Wan are reunited about halfway through the first season on Clone Wars, and she gets introduced to Anakin and Ahsoka. She becomes everyone’s favorite single, chaotic wine aunt. She also meets the 501st clones, and pretty much becomes their favorite single chaotic wine aunt too. Omara never really gets a padawan of her own, rather being the fun aunt to all the padawans, and she prefers it that way.

Additional Notes/Facts:

Aromantic bisexual, aka “Guys and girls are hot and I want to kiss both and do the sex with both but dating and marrige is eww.” She doesn’t really get Obi-Wan wanting to date Duchess Satine/Cody, but is like “meh, to each his own I guess, if you really think they’re both that hot and wanna commit to that for life be my guest-”

Because of this, she’s had a lot of sexy flings with a lot of people, but never actually had a steady relationship with anyone or even considered it. They calls them all her ‘exes’ even though they’re really not bc she never had romantic feelings for or officially dated any of them

This is also why they're not worried about the Jedi Council finding out, bc she never had any emotional/romantic attachments to them so technically they can't get after her for it

doesn’t really like being called a woman or lady, especially in a condescending tone. But being referred to as sister and or aunt by family and friends (or Mommy/good girl by sexual partners) is fine, and she loves mix-matched pronouns and titles (i.e. they’re my aunt, she’s my sibling, Auntie Uncle, etc etc)

she really likes how the title of General/Master is also gender neutral, and gets a bit of gender euphoria when someone refers to them as General O’Halla or Master O'Halla

Calls Obi-Wan “Obi” (cause she knows it annoys him) when she’s in a teasing mood (which is most of the time). He calls her ��Mara” or “Mar” for short, and nobody else gets to call her that

Her favorite ‘persuasion method’ is using the Force to slowly cut off the prisoner’s blood circulation/nervous system in a certain spot (arms or legs) until they lose use of their limbs (or they talk). It’s quick, painless and effective; which is why she loves it because one, technically speaking it’s not torture- so she won’t get in trouble, and two, it works like a charm almost every time.

Obi-Wan hates this ^^^

The bickering usually starts as passive agressive and petty comments, but if they go on long enough without being interrupted Obi-Wan and Omara will start acting more like little kids as they fight (even stick their tongues out at each other)

Angsty: Omara wasn't there during the events of A New Hope, she left a few years after the events of Kenobi to find Ahsoka and make sure she was ok- even though she wasn't there she felt when Obi-Wan died through the Force and she knew and it broke her because after everything and all the friends the lost in the war he was gone

going off that, in her old age Omara can see and talk to Force ghosts without them projecting- Ahsoka isn't sure if Omara can actually see them or if it's Omara's attempt to cope with the loss of her brother

the cool single aunt that all the kids love and all the parents lowkey hate

hyping myself up writing chapter 7 of glory be (codywan timetravel but sideways and back) by posting a snippet for you all :] have 500 words of cody being very autistic in his consideration of language <333 (i didnt even write him as autistic on purpose i just had a Realisation that he super super is. because i am projecting how i am autistic in my consideration of language)

“Hey, Cody,” Jon says. Cody, seated upright in his bed, turns towards her. Face white-and-gold and blank as ever, she holds one of the glowing things, a little slimmer than what he reads his holobooks on. The pain in his head is sharp and ugly, and it makes him feel sharp and ugly in places that there is no logical reason for such feelings to be. “Yes,” he acknowledges. Jon bobs her head to the side, flesh appendages flicking in brief amusement. No—they have a name. He read somewhere that they have a name. It is a thin word, fitting like a block of real-wood under the hands of his mind, tucking in beneath his chin and sitting comfortably around his glands. He knows the shape of it, the feel, but the word itself—escapes him. This makes him feel the sharp-ugly feeling in different ways, ways that are not pain. The name of them fits the same shape as cherry blossoms do—he read a holonovel about a cherry blossom gardener, and had found the idea so interesting that he borrowed an encyclopaedia all about the genus as soon as he had finished the series—but it does not reside in quite the same place. Still it evades him. (Stubbornly, the only thing that remains undeveloped is his command of speech. The alt-comm augment is difficult to use, and the amount of language it contains is overwhelming. Cody does not know where to start. And even though they are nearly healed and unburdened by bandages, his hands are clumsy and uncoordinated in a way that fills him with—an emotion. Anger, maybe. He is not certain. He is not certain. In his holobooks, hot, tense feelings are ascribed to anger. (He does not know yet if he likes ascribed. Master Vergu said it once, and it was a thin and papery word between his lips. He does not know. It is not as hideous as alright, but—it is still a disdainful word.) Cody does not feel hot and tense; instead, there is terrible pressure beneath his eyes and in the hollows beneath his cheekbones, curling down to swell resentfully in the soft pouches of the glands beneath his chin. He thinks it is anger. He does not know what else it could be.) Jon is silent in the way he has learnt means that it is his turn to speak, which means he did not hear what she said. The terrible pressure mixes with the sharp-ugliness, intensifies, takes a bitter edge. Xahx. (He thinks this word is something like fuck in his holobooks, but he has only ever heard Jon say it, and only twice at that, sharp and harsh and not meant for him to hear. Fuck is—boring, a character in a holobook would say, and he finds it a dull-round, thin-flat and shallow word, like a machine-pressed circle of metal. Xahx, punchy like the sharp, thick needle in the back of his hand that drip-feeds him analgesics, is much better.) He shifts, flicks the glowing thing containing his holobooks on and off again, bright, dark, bright, dark, and looks at Jon in a way that he hopes will convey his ignorance. The silence continues. It feels—thick. Awkward, if he was a holobook character.

Disgrace Chapter 4: Aliens Talk - Illustrations (R)

How does one ignore the inevitable? You already know it's useless to try to avoid it, but how do you ignore its presence at your peripherals? The way it taunts you. There is absolutely nothing challenging about being stuck together on an isolated moon completely alone and cut off from the outside universe for an undisclosed amount of time. There should be plenty of wholesome ways to distract oneself... right?
