I think I’m stuck...
All Bronz wants is a relaxing day. A hike in the woods, a picnic with his friends, to watch the sunset, and star gazing. What he gets is a boatload of trouble and the realization that he shouldn’t have eaten all those extra bread rolls earlier that week...
Bronz makes his way through the trees and up the rocky hiking path, following the signs carefully on his way to the promised picnic grounds up ahead. He can almost taste the yummy snacks his friends said they would bring him that morning when he left for the village. After a long week of work, an evening with his friends as they watch the sunset and eat is the perfect recharge.
The dragon takes note of the tightening spaces between the trees and looks back at his tail. Last thing he wants is for it to get stuck when he’s not looking, he pulls it closer to himself in anticipation, hoping that the poor thing won’t get caught. He’s a big guy, strong too, so pushing his soft body through the trees isn’t as hard as he’d imagined it would be.
He feels a little more confident about the situation and relaxes, unfortunately, a little too much...
“OOF!” Bronz exclaims, small flames jumping from his lips as he turns around to look at his tail. He winces, it’s caught right at the base so he can barely look at it without tugging at it any more. The solis dragon whimpers as he realizes he’s not even that far from the picnic sight.
He opens his mouth to call for his friends, hoping their close enough that they can help him get unstuck, “PIK! SVONE?! Anyone there?!”
The large dragon waits but there’s no response, so he calls again. Still no response. He sighs before wiggling a bit in an attempt to loosen himself, but it only makes the bark scrap against his sensitive skin even more.
He pats at his turning stomach, large paws rubbing in soft circles in an attempt to calm it. He sits down, frustrated that his tail is stuck and he can’t seem to move enough to unstick it without hurting himself and making his tummy churn. Even more so frustrated because he was trying to be careful and not get stuck in the first place, now he is.
He really wants a cake right now, his sweet tooth is killing him, it always does when he’s anxious or stressed. Which he has been a lot lately, it explains the extra chub he’s sporting, including his much thicker tail. That’s why his friends suggested the picnic, hoping to ease their hungry friend’s nerves with a nice calming picnic.
So far, this had not been calming.
He looks up at the sun in the sky and gulps as he notices it getting closer to the horizon. His stomach grumbles under his palms and he pulls his knees to this chest in an attempt to comfort himself. He’s hungry and it’s getting dark, soon it’s going to get cold and has had nobody to cuddle with.
The glow in his belly dims as he starts to think about having to spend the night alone in the forest with an empty belly, “‘m so hungry...”
His tummy rumbles loudly as if confirming his statement, scaring the birds from the trees above and making him curl up even smaller, “BRONZ?! IS THAT YOU BIG GUY?!”
Bronz looks up at the familiar sound of Pik’s voice, wincing as his tail curls up with excitement.
“Of course that’s him, the only thing that makes that loud of a rumbling noise is Bronz’s empty belly.” Svonne supplies with a yawn and Pik shrugs before running towards the source of the sound.
The tiny dragon gasps when he sees the warm glow of Bronz’s cauldron-like belly in the distance, “I SEE HIM!”
“GUYS! Boy am I happy to see you! I’m um, a little stuck.” Bronz mumbles out shyly, slightly embarrassed at the fact that his extra fluff allowed him to get stuck like this, just a few pounds lighter and he would be able to slip right through.
“Awww you poor thing! It’s your tail huh? Hurt too much to move I assume?” Pik asks and Bronz nods, “It’s always been sensitive. Let’s see if we can get it out without upsetting your tummy too much.”
Svonne nods, giving Bronz’s empty belly a soft reassuring pat as he goes around to assist Pik in getting the larger dragon’s tail unstuck from between the branches.
“You know, your whole tail is bigger than me.” Pik provides and Bronz gives him an awkward chuckle in response, careful not to move too much, “It’s so soft, no wonder it’s sensitive.”
He can feel them holding both sides and groans as his stomach growls again almost painfully, this one even louder than the last.
“We’re gonna get you unstuck big guy, your belly will be full soon enough.” Svonne reassures and Bronz nods, appreciative of his comforting presence. His words calm his anxious nerves a little bit and he feels himself relax.
That relaxed feeling goes away as soon as they lift his tail.
His stomach lurches as his scales scrape harshly against the rough bark, it hurts way more than he anticipated. It doesn’t get any better as they push and tug at the poor thing. His eyes cross and he’s sure he would’ve been sick already if there was something in his empty belly.
“ALMOST GOT IT!” Pik supplies and Bronz cups his hands over his mouth as his stomach gurgles sickly as a warning.
“Done!” Svonne exclaims and they rush to Bronz’s face as he lands on his front. The large dragon is laid across the forest floor, sniffling as he reaches around to hold his tail. He curls into a ball for a second to recover and Pik runs his fingers softly through the soft orange fluff atop the younger dragon’s head.
“It’s okay big guy, we gotcha. Sorry we took so long to get here, we were on the other side of the mountain picking berries while we waited for you. Fortunately there are plenty and if you don’t eat them all, which you probably will now that I think about it, we can take them home and bake you a nice yummy pie.”
Bronz hums, belly growing brighter at the sound of warm berry pie. It growls again, sound rumbling through the forest and causing the two other dragons to step back in surprise. Bronz feels his face heat up in embarrassment, he can’t believe he’s this hungry.
“S-Sorry I-“
Svonne reaches out his hand, “All the food is at the picnic site, let’s get going.”
Bronz nods before taking it, Pik assists by pushing his back, together they get the large round dragon on his feet.
The make their way up the mountain, together this time. Bronz couldn’t be happier that his friends were by his side again, he missed their small but significant presence at his side. Although his tail ached and throbbed a bit he could only think about the delicious food waiting for him.
“You look dangerously excited big guy, how about we calm down just a little?” Pik asks as he notices Bronz licking his lips, razor sharp teeth glistening as he smiles eagerly.
“You’re drooling.” Svonne yawns and the younger dragon gasps before quickly wiping at his lips.
When he looks up he sees the picnic in front of him.
“BRONZ WAIT!” They yell as the large dragon barrels towards the set up. They know if he gets the chance that he WILL inhale everything and anything. In an attempt to slow him down they grab the back of his shirt and dig their heels into the ground.
They manage to get him to stop right before he reaches the baskets.
“SIT!” Pik commands breathlessly and Bronz continues to reach for the food. When he’s this hungry and sees food, he’s like an eager puppy looking for a treat. A giant puppy that weighs a ton and has a stomach like a bottomless pit. It’s moments like these that make it obvious that he’s the youngest, although it’s only by a little, he’s still a giant baby.
“BRONZ SIT!” Svonne snaps. That’s enough to shake Bronz out of his thoughts and get him to listen. Svonne never raises his voice, it takes too much energy he says.
“S-Sorry.” Bronz mumbles softly as he drops onto his bottom with a loud ground shaking thump.
They catch their footing before walking over to the multiple large baskets on the ground of the clearing and opening them. They set all of them in front of he large dragon and smile. Bronz looks up at them with big round watery eyes.
“A-Are you guys-“
“We ate before we came, this was a picnic for you big guy. We brought all your favorites, dig in.” Pik explains and Bronz’s tail curls up adorably behind him in excitement. He holds up a meat pie in his palms and inhales the scent. He starts drooling again, he can’t help it, the food smells amazing.
They step back and give him his space as he inhales the food.
“I hope it’s enough to fill his belly, he sounded really hungry.” Pik says as he thinks about how loudly Bronz’s cauldron-like belly was grumbling, “You know how much he can eat.”
“I think we brought enough, at least to get him moderately full. He looks happy though.” Svonne smiles softly as he watches Bronz lick every pie tin clean. He stacks them neatly beside himself and Svonne can’t help but notice the bites taken out of some of them. The big guy is eating so fast he doesn’t even realize it.
After a few minutes of talking and watching the sun fall below the horizon they hear a low rumbling purr. The tell-tale sign of their large cuddly dragon friend is full. They turn to see him resting sleepily against a large tree, rubbing his round glowing belly as he digests dozens of pounds of food.
“Toasty marshmallow tummy...” Pik hums as he runs over and rams into the side of Bronz’s stuffed belly.
The solis dragon hiccups up a small flame, groaning as the content of his stomach shifts uncomfortably, “Oof, sorry big guy.”
“‘s okay.” Bronz hiccups again before burping softly into his fist, cheeks darkening in slight embarrassment.
“Pik, you’ve got to be more careful.” Svonne reminds sleepily as he cuddles into Bronz’s other side, making sure not to jostle the food in his stomach too much.
“Sorry!” The hyperactive dragon apologizes and Bronz hums before wrapping his arms around them. He looks up at the sky and smiles as he sees all the stars above his head, twinkling in the ocean of the sky. He feels Pik and Svonne cuddle into him even closer as his tummy warms up even more with happiness.
“This is the best I’ve felt in a long time.” He blurts out over the soft music of the forest.
Pik turns around and smiles, keeping his voice quiet so he doesn’t wake the snorting Svonne, “I’m happy we could make you happy big guy.”
Thank you @bellyrubsandtea for giving me the opportunity to write your boy! He helped me get out of a much dreaded writers block and I fell in love with him! Such a big warm cutie pie! I hope you all enjoy reading as much as I did writing uwu

What is the use of auto refractometer?
Auto refractometer is used to determine an individual’s prescription by measuring how light is affected as it reflects through the eyeball. The process is quick and painless for the patient, and the data ensures a baseline to determine the correct eyeglass or contact lens prescription.
What is Autorefractor keratometer?
Autorefractor/keratometers (ARKs) are computerized devices that provide both refractive testing and keratometry measurements. This allows eyecare professionals to determine both a baseline for the patient’s prescription as well as the curvature of the cornea for contact lenses.
What is Autorefractometry?
INTRODUCTION S Refractometry is the estimation of refractive error with a machine, called refractometer or optometer. S Automated Refractometers (AutoRefractors) are designed to objectively determine the refractive error & are of various types depending upon the underlying principle they are based on.
How does a refractometer work?
Refractometers measure the degree to which the light changes direction, called the angle of refraction. A refractometer takes the refraction angles and correlates them to refractive index (nD) values that have been established. Measurements are read at the point where the prism and solution meet.
Chart Projector
The chart projector is an AC-powered device intended to project an image on a screen for vision testing.
Ophthalmic examination chart projector including a rotatable chart carrying disc and a mask plate which are co-axial with each other. A light source and a projecting lens assembly are provided for projecting one of the charts on the disc and one of the mask openings onto a screen. An index tube is rotatably mounted in the projecting optical path and carrying a colored filter on the inner periphery thereof. Thus, an astigmatic index can be projected on the peripheral portion of the astigmatic examination chart. The chart carrying disc, the mask plate and the astigmatic index tube can be controlled by knobs all provided on the front panel of the projector.
Handheld Autorefractors
There are important applications for a handheld autorefractor in the clinical setting. A portable but powerful handheld autorefractor such as the SVOne (Smart Vision Labs; Figure 1) can be used in place of a desktop unit if, for instance, the desktop unit malfunctions or needs servicing. The SVOne adds flexibility to the clinic because it is transportable. This can improve patient flow dynamics, taking the testing modality to the patient rather than having the patient leave the exam room to go to a testing station. A handheld autorefractor serves to relieve bottlenecks if a testing station is occupied; it also allows clinicians to carry the technology to satellite offices that may not have the same diagnostic equipment as the main office.
Where a handheld autorefractor such as the SVOne could have its greatest impact, however, is in teleophthalmology settings. In certain rural areas, there are coverage gaps where patients often have to travel great distances to be seen by an eye care provider. Using the SVOne, which is a Hartmann-Shack wavefront sensor affixed to an iPhone, it would not take much to design a protocol to remotely screen patients to detect refractive errors in need of follow-up.
Understanding and caring for a lensmeter
A lensmeter or lensometer is an instrument used to verify the prescription of eyeglasses or spectacles. Many lensmeters can also verify the power of contact lenses with the addition of a special lens support. The values obtained from a lensmeter are the values specified on the patient's eyeglass prescription: sphere, cylinder, axis, add, and in some cases, prism. It is commonly used prior to an eye examination to obtain the last prescription the patient was given, in order to expedite the examination.
In one commonly used type of lensmeter the target seen through the eyepiece consists of a set of three wide lines with wide spacing between them and another set of three narrow lines with smaller spacing between them. These two sets of lines intersect at right angles. The closely spaced lines represent the sphere component of lens power and the thicker, widely spaced lines represent the cylinder power. In the case of a spherical lens, all of the lines of the target will focus at the same time, while in the case of a sphero-cylindrical lens, the lines will focus separately at different power drum readings (see illustration).
In another type of lensmeter, a series of light dots forming a circle is used as a target instead of the two sets of parallel lines described earlier. If a spherical lens is measured, the circle remains a circle and the power drum is adjusted to obtain a sharp image of the dots. For sphero-cylindrical lenses the dots, when focused, will display a sharp ellipse. The major and minor axes of the ellipse can be read on the scale provided in the instrument.
Autophoropter
A phoropter is a machine that stores all the range of lenses optometrists use to check your eye’s prescription. These are traditionally operated by hand to rotate different lenses into place. An autophoropter is exactly what it sounds like - it automates this process, so that during your eye exam your optometrist will only need to press buttons on a remote control to change to any combination of different lenses. This speeds up the time it takes to work out your prescription leaving more time to thoroughly check the health of your eyes and discuss other aspects of your vision. The autophoropter head can also test a range of near vision aspects to ensure your multifocals and bifocals give you the appropriate focus.
Trial Frame
Trial frame refracting for the primary-care optometrist may seem low tech in today's electronic driven world. Aside from its use by low vision specialists like myself, few still utilize it, as the phoropter, and, more recently, the automated phoropter have pretty much taken its place. That said, you should consider reacquainting yourself with trial frame refracting because the aging population (those age 65 and older) is on the rise, increasing the need for this classic technology.
In fact, the aging population comprised 39.6 million of the U.S. population in 2009, according to the Administration on Aging, (U.S. Department of Health & Human Services). Specifically, they represented 12.9% of the U.S. population — roughly one in every eight Americans. This is a growth of 5% from 2000. Further by 2030, about 19%, or 72.1 million, older persons will comprise our country.
Ophthalmoscope
Ophthalmoscopy (also called fundoscopy) is a test that lets a doctor see inside the back of the eye, which is called the fundus. The doctor can also see other structures in the eye. He or she uses a magnifying tool called an ophthalmoscope and a light source to see inside the eye. The test is done as part of an eye exam. It may also be done as part of a routine physical exam.
The fundus has a lining of nerve cells called the retina. The retina detects images that pass through the clear, outer covering of the eye, called the cornea. The fundus also contains blood vessels and the optic nerve.
Different Types of Retinoscopes
There are two different types of retinoscopes: the spot retinoscope and streak retinoscope.
History of the Spot Retinoscope
The earliest pioneers created their own mirrors with a slit in the middle to convert the spot into a linear beam. The first electric, self-illuminated retinoscope was developed in 1901 by Wolff. This device included a tiny bulb that directed a spot of light into the eye. Later, different models resulted in the spot being reflected by a plane mirror, or less commonly, a concave mirror.
History of the Streak Retinoscope
The father of the streak retinoscope was Jack C. Copeland. After dropping and damaging the bulb on his Wolff Spot retinoscope, Copeland ‘invented’ the first variable vergeance streak retinoscope and patented it in 1927. This instrument produced a linear beam that could rotate throughout the ocular medians.
Spot Retinoscope vs Streak Retinoscope
Both types of retinoscopes can be used to perform different retinoscopy techniques. Because astigmatic eyes create a linear fundus reflex, a streak of light or rectangular beam may be more useful in detecting astigmatism — instead of a spot retinoscope.
The streak retinoscope includes both a plano mode and converging mode. For most types of retinoscopy, the streak instrument should be used in plano mode. In contrast, the spot retinoscope only has plano mode, so there’s no adjustment needed to perform many of the dynamic retinoscopy techniques.
Whenever the streak retinoscope is in plano made, it’s basically a spot with the sides cut off. The streak retinoscope offers less illumination, while the optical phenomenon taking place away from the center of the streak is obscured. It’s more difficult to observe subtle changes in the brightness or color or alterations in the cylinder. Simply put, the spot retinoscope may offer more information.
Since the development of the spot and streak retinoscope, innovation has paved the way for stronger, more robust equipment. And Keeler Ophthalmic Instruments has remained on the forefront of innovation. For more than 100 years, Keeler has been manufacturing ophthalmic instruments, and today Keeler offers several world-class ophthalmic instruments to further advance your ability to detect and diagnose conditions of the eye.

How Tech Can Help MLB Players Get Elite Vision To Improve Their Hitting
Within the time it takes for a Main League Baseball hitter to blink, he has roughly a 3rd of that point to see a ninety five mile per hour fastball and reply earlier than it reaches the plate. So it is sensible then when a current imaginative and prescient and eyesight research carried out by Dr. Daniel Laby — the Director of the Sports activities and Efficiency Vision Middle on the SUNY School of Optometry in New York Metropolis — as soon as once more confirmed that skilled gamers primarily have superhuman imaginative and prescient ranges, with many approaching 20/12. Moreover, it confirmed the accuracy of an autorefractor gadget that may detect minor focusing points in gamers’ eyes, the most important discovering within the research launched final week. In response to Laby, the SVOne autorefractor machine from Sensible Vision Labs determines if a participant has refractive errors, which may then be corrected with contact lenses. With the help of corrective contact l

In Focus: Friends of Bolivia
“The simplicity, accuracy, speed, and portability were all very strong...The SVOne streamlined [our] whole process, thus allowing us to attend to almost three times the number of patients.”
Please tell us about your organization.
Friends of Bolivia Foundation, Inc. was founded in 1993, with the purpose of rendering medical attention to the poor people of Bolivia. Yearly Friends of Bolivia organizes a medical mission team of medical professionals and volunteers to go to Bolivia, South America, to fulfill this purpose.
Describe the types of patients you see.
The vision team sees patients from every economic group, most especially from impoverished communities. The range in ages is usually from seven through 80 years, although there have been remarkable exceptions — several 100 year old patients! In general the patients need eye sight correction of simple distance and/or close range deficiencies.
What is your biggest exam-related challenge?
In the past the biggest challenge was assessing the correct vision, but with the SVOne that was no longer the case. The biggest challenge now is the ability to fit the patient with the range of glasses supplied through the Lions Club. Another challenge is the inability to attend to the needs of individuals who require surgery.
What attracted you to the SVOne?
The simplicity, accuracy, speed, and portability were all very strong attractions.
How do you use the SVOne?
The SVOne replaces the former instrument that we used to measure vision, the focometer. This instrument is very time demanding and difficult for a patient to use — particularly when the directions involve language translation. Usual measurements could take from 30 minutes to one hour. The SVOne streamlined the whole process, thus allowing us to attend to almost three times the number of patients.
Tell us an SVOne story.
The Friends of Bolivia Medical Mission Trip in May and June of 2015 was the first opportunity to use this innovative instrument. The site for this mission trip provided an extra challenge — many of the elder patients spoke Quechua, a regional, indigenous language, that our team did not know. The use of the SVOne effectively eliminated the need to translate how to operate as icons and gestures easily conveyed the instructions to the patient. Our oldest patient was in his late 80s and without the ease of communication it is doubtful that we could have been a success. His wide smile as he donned his new glasses was a great gift to all of us!
How do you envision the SVOne will help you grow your organization?
The portability, speed, accuracy, and ease of use will greatly grow the numbers of patients we can see during the five days we are in a location. In the past the average time to assess a patient’s vision was 30 to 60 minutes. With the SVOne we can see three patients in that time. Important, also is the accuracy. The measurements provided can pinpoint the prescription needed for each patient. When the focometer was the instrument used, many people were turned away for lack of enough time. The SVOne allows us to bring the much needed gift of sight to so many more.

Name: Bronz Dradagund
Age: 25 (Human years. For Dragon he's 2500!)
Current weight: 1000lbs! (Ranges from 600lbs to 1500lbs - as his weight commonly fluctuates due to the bunch of physical work he does on a daily basis. Weight drops if work is on a high, whereas his weight increases easily if he has a nice holiday or a week or so off from any tough labour.)
Dragon Type: Solis Dragon (These Dragons are tough and highly resistant to scorching heat and blazing fires. Some posses the ability to conjure or breathe spiraling coloms of crimson or amber flames with ease. They have bold personalities to match their large demeanours; strong and vast, and are sometimes known to be stubborn and possesive or protective about things they own / friends / loved ones. However in Bronz's case... He's a bit more in the shy softie side, but is still by far protective about his friends and S.O.)
Habits & Antics: Bronz has a few habits and things he sometimes gets in trouble for, for example:
- He tends to eat far too much (if given the chance), and sometimes ends up getting a tummy ache from it. He's never really had a sense of self control when it comes to food.
- He has an awful and constant craving for sweet things. (Cakes and Pies. He just can't help himself.)
- He will find it had to stay awake after a big meal. Having the habit of dozing off or dropping into a food coma shortly after a good heavy meal or a truck load of treats.
- He has the habit of snacking when he's worried or upset (mostly when he's fretting about the ones he cares about), not quite realising he's doing it.
Likes:
- FOOD! (His favorites are as follows from top to bottom: Sweet and Savory Pies. Chocolate Cakes. Spiced, roasted, kebab, cold cut, grilled, fried MEATS.)
- Spending time and being with his friends and S.O. (Pik, Svone and Lioc.). This includes cuddles and comfy relaxing times spent with them.
- Having long cozy naps or good lazy lie-ins.
- Cuddles, snuggles and belly rubs. He absolutely adores some tummy rubs and belly pats.
- Warm sunny days. Also lounging in the sun - basically sun bathing in the summer sun~.
- Stargazing.
- Exploring forests or going on small hikes.
- Helping others the best he can (forging, repairing or fixing things that are broken or damaged for others; or simply giving those who need it a helping hand).
Dislikes:
- Being shouted at or called a monster. (Has happened before, and that's stuck with him.)
- Upsetting anyone or causing anyone harm, grief, sadness or scaring them. Especially his friends and S.O.
- Having his belly or tail being sharply prodded and poked at (or yanked / pulled on - tail wise.) without his consent. He has a sensitive tumby and it hurts him if his tail is treated rough.
- Being alone.
- Mocked for or having someone point out the fact he has no wings. (A very sensitive subject.)
- The rain, cold weather, winter seasons.
- Eels and newts. They freak him.out and he finds them too odd and icky. No real reason as to why, he just doesn't like them.

Lioc, how did you meet Bronz and the others?
Ah well, it's a rather embarrassing story. I met Bronz by accidentally 'bumping' into him, quite literally... Which caused me to bounce off him and have a bit of a fall... I wasn't hurt at all really, but Bronz was so worried he practically scooped me up and took me to see his friend Svone for a small health check up. It was then I also met Pik.
After that Bronz remembered who I was and from there we decided to spend some more time with eachother~.

Has bronz always been this big or was there a time when he realized he was getting fat and liked it
Well, Bronz has always been his big self, as he's always had a large appetite along with a deep love for all food, and for sure he's more than happy with his chonky size. But, recently he's started to grow a little softer. Pik and Svone have definitely realised the change, but Bronz hasn't quite noticed nor has he figures out why his old clothes are starting to get a tad too tight for him yet...
