Frozen II - Secret Love
Summary: Elsa, Anna, Kristoff, and Olaf embark on a journey to the Enchanted Forest to save their kingdom. But what happens when they meet again with an old enemy? And what happens when old yet strong feelings come up the surface? Read to find out!
Chapter 1
Holding her sister's hand tightly and without any intention of letting go, Anna and Elsa crossed the fog and entered the Enchanted Forest, followed by Kristoff and Olaf and Sven. King Agnar once told his daughters about his journey as a prince in the Enchanted Forest. The two sisters asked to know more information about this, but their father insisted that they were too young to withstand the violence of the events that followed. But they never got to hear the rest of thestory. Elsa could never imagine that story was about to repeat itself after so many years, with her and Anna taking the lead roles. They were all dazzled by the beauty of the forest. Everything around them looked like it was taken straight from a fairytale book.
"This place is amazing!" The two girls turned their heads to Kristof, who seemed really excited.
"It is beautiful, indeed!" Elsa agreed as they went deeper into the forest.
"Remember that this place has remained hidden for many years, which means there must be a good reason for it. Keep your eyes open for traps. We need to be very careful!"
"You are absolutely right!" Said Kristoff, imitating Sven's voice. Anna tried to stifle her laughter. In just three years, Olaf had matured enough. She did not expect anything less, after all. Her sister possessed powers that no one could imagine how far they could go. Elsa leaned against a tree and inhaled the fresh air. She couldn't hide her excitement. If only Arendelle looked a little like this place... Her sister had a great love for Arendelle, the place where she and Elsa were born. However, the latter knew that she had not yet found the place where she belonged. She wasn't like others. A flower of incomparable beauty caught Olaf's attention. Olaf came closer and examined the flower with his childlike innocence. He bent down to inhale his scent, when, all of a sudden, an eerie sound resounded in their ears.
"Olaf, no!" Anna shouted at him, preventing him from cutting the flower.
"But, it's soo beautiful!" He said in a sweet voice. Elsa and her sister exchanged a terrified look. A large rock was heading towards Olaf. Anna was about to run towards Olaf and save him, but Kristoff ran first and pulled him back, before the rock flattened the little snowman.
"I got him!" He called out to the two girls.
"Are you ok, buddy?" Kristoff asked him, causing the little snowman to look back at him with widened eyes."
Of course I am, Kristoff. That flower though..." His voice trailed off, looking at the destroyed flower.
"What were you thinking Olaf?" Anna shouted furiously at him, and Olaf lowered his gaze, obviously sad. Anna had never shouted at him that way before. He was still a child at heart, though. And it hurt him.
"It's alright, Anna. He's fine!" Elsa said, petting Olaf's head. He stared up at Elsa with teary eyes.
"Come on Olaf. Lets walk a little!" She told him, taking him by the hand. Elsa knew her sister's character. Anna needed her space. She needed some time to think. Kristoff looked at his beloved and understood better than anyone her agitation and fear. Anna was a burning, inexhaustible source of life, ready to give even her own life for her loved ones. Anna was on the verge of tears. She didn't want to upset Olaf, that wasn't her intention, but she didn't know what to do. What would have happened, if they didn't make it? Pabbie was right. This trip was quite risky. Kristoff approached her slowly.
"Anna, are you alright?" He asked her and Anna turned to look at him. There was despair on her face, and that made him regret questioning her such a ridiculous question.
"No, Kristoff. I'm not well at all," she replied with a sob and sniffed.
"Did you see what just happened? One wrong move and-" Kristoff wanted to comfort her, but couldn't think of a way to do so.
"But we are safe now. And that's what matters!" He told her softly.
"Besides, you don't need to worry. Your sister is quite strong and will make it!"
"That's the thing, Kristoff! I do not want to put her in danger. Just the thought that I could lose her..." She couldn't finish her sentence, and tears ran down her cheeks.
"It would not help matters over analyzing things. You need to overcome worrying!" She looked at him angrily, unable to understand that he was trying to make her feel better.
"Do you think I'm overreacting? Is that what you're trying to say?" The accusative look she gave him, it made Kristoff gulp. Why was he so bad at words?
"No, no, that's not what I meant! What I meant is that you shouldn't worry yourself over almost everything. Besides, some things are out of our hands and-"
"You don't think we're gonna make out of here?" Seeing the fear in her eyes, he rushed to explain himself. He ran a frustrating hand through his hair and inhaled deeply. He had made things worse than before.
"No, I didn't mean that. Of course not!" He told her, before pulling her into his arms. She started crying and Kristoff stroke her hair lovingly, in an attempt to calm her down.
"I'm so scared!" She whispered.
"Not for me, but for Elsa, for Olaf, for you!" Her tears prevented her from continuing. Kristoff couldn't bear to see her in such a state. Ηe had grown up without a family and understood better than anyone else the pain of loss. Elsa was so lucky to have a sister like Anna. Kristoff was lucky too, for he had met Anna. His feelings for the princess were clear. He had fallen in love with her and could not imagine his life with anyone else. He had waited a long time now and could not wait any longer. He would ask her to marry him. He had been meaning to ask her, for he was dying inside, but didn't find the right opportunity. He cleared his throat, before speaking.
"Anna, there is something very important that I want to tell you! I ..." Anna suddenly looked around. But where were the others?
"Where are Elsa and Olaf?" Kristoff looked at her tenderly and took her hands in his.
"I'm sure they're fine!" He tried to explain to her, but she looked visibly upset. Anna loved her sister more than life itself.
"Anna, you're the best thing that had ever happened to me and..." His voice trailed off as he saw her walk away from him. After all, her sister would always come first.
"Elsa ?! Where are you?" How could she leave her alone? She had promised to protect her, but broke her promise.Kristoff knew there was no other way to convince her. The wedding proposal could wait. He could wait for her.
"We'll find them!" He said as he took her by the hand and guided her deeper into the woods. After walking for a few minutes, they finally saw Elsa standing with her back turned at them, looking into the distance in front of her. Anna let go of Kristoff's hand and ran to her sister. Anna back-hugged her, causing Elsa to jump at the sudden contact. The younger sister giggled at that."You're ok!" She exclaimed happily and hugged her sister tighter than before. Elsa smiled at her sister's cuteness and hugged her back.
"Of course, I am!" She said back.
"'Cause you're here with me!"Olaf was sitting under the shade of a tree. He seemed to be in deep thought. Anna sighed deeply. She wanted to go to him and apologize for her awful behavior towards him, but Elsa's voice stopped her.
"Look!" She told her, pointing to the left side of the landscape. The princess gasped at that.
"It's just a dam!" Kristoff remarked.
"It was in Grand Pabbie's vision." Said Anna, glancing at her sister.
"It's the one father had told us about!" Elsa added with a heavy sob. Anna placed her hand on her sister's shoulder lovingly.
"Elsa?! Are you alright?" If there was one thing that the young princess could not stand, that was to see her sister upset. She would give everything, just to see a smile on Elsa's face. The young queen wiped her tears away with the sleeve of her dress.
"I wish he was here with us!" She said, choking back her tears. Her sister pulled her into her arms.
"But he is always with us, Elsa. He is always here!" She told her softly, pointing at her heart.
"What would I do without you?" She asked her, hugging her tightly.
"You will always have me!" She answered in a heartbeat. Kristoff looked at the two sisters with a smile on his face. Their love for each other was indeed something special. The sudden sound of a horn made everyone look at each other in confusion. Anna brought a finger up to her lips, implying them to be quiet and walked over to Kristoff. She pulled out the sword from his sheath.
"Anna, what are you doing?" He asked her but did not receive an answer from her as they heard footsteps coming to their direction. The people of Nolthuldra stood before them, holding spears and looking angry. Anna and her friends took a step back, but to their great surprise, they found out that they were surrounded by another group of people too. These men were holdings swords and shields and looked like nothing the Nolthuldra. They mostly looked like Arendelle's soldiers.
"Who are you? And what are you doing here?" The leader of the tribe asked in a cold tone.
"Anna, let me handle this!" He whispered to her, but she did not listen to anyone."Anna, lower your sword. You are making it worse!" Elsa told her and tried to take the sword from her sister's hands but in vain.
"What is happening here?" Anna felt a knot in her stomach. This voice sounded strangely familiar to her. But no, it can't be. A young man pushed his way into the crowd. He seemed different from the rest of the tribe. His green eyes widened when he saw who the intruders were. He couldn't believe it. His past was following him again.
"Hans?" The two sisters exclaimed simultaneously.

Hey, I'm back from my trip and got ya'll some stick ship goodies. It's no longer fair season where I live, but I had ideas for my favorite ships going to the fair and finally decided to draw them, so here you go!
CopperRight
I imagine that Right Hand Man is either the kind of guy to actually hate fairs/carnivals/things like that, or the kind of guy to say he hates them, but actually really enjoys them. He'd probably play all of the "test of strength" games and win the the giant prizes for Reginald. Reginald doesn't actually want/need the giant prizes (and isn't really a fan of fairs, either; too loud and dirty!), but if he gets a petty sense of pride when showing them off, he can do that because he's a rat man who loves his husband.
On the other hand, though, Reginald does have a serious sweet tooth, and sometimes only a treat found at the fair can do the trick! (I imagine RHM doesn't really like sweets, but he's not gonna leave Reg by himself in a strange theme park where danger could be at any corner!)
_____________________________________
Curtisson
Burt actually really likes carnivals and fairs, but he acts unimpressed at every fair he goes to.
Burt: Nice theme park. Be a shame if someone broke it.
Sven, on the other hand, does NOT like fairs or carnivals. They're crowded, noisy, the food is terrible for you, and it's too hot all the time! I imagine he'd go maybe once just to say that he did, and would somehow get goaded into going on a big scary ride (or maybe even a not-so-scary ride) only to sob uncontrollably afterwards for like ten minutes.
The Curtisson date at the fair would almost be completely ruined... but at least there's a petting zoo, and they both like small and fluffy animals.
Date saved!

PanPrice
Believe it or not, Dave's actually pretty okay with most rides. Nothing extreme, like triple loop-de-loop rollercoasters or anything, but maybe one of those "roller coasters" that just go around in a loop over and over. Dave knows what he likes and doesn't like, and can plan accordingly.
Rupert thinks he can handle a few amusement park rides. He's a trained military man who was on the police force for nearly a decade before hand! He can handle a baby roller coaster!
He cannot handle the baby roller coaster
But once Rupert gets the feeling back in his everything, it's time to play some games! Probably a shooting game of some kind; something challenging that takes a lot of skill and precision (but most importantly, something with a prize that Dave will like):
Obligatory Dave Panpa / Panda fanart
And of course, what's a fair or carnival without the FOOD! Dave loves fair food and has a hard time picking what to get. Rupert is less inclined to fried and sugary foods in large portions, but he likes to see Dave indulge every once in a while, because Dave deserves it.

Poly Threat
A group of thrill seekers like the Triple Threat would definitely be the first in line for some rides! And they know exactly which one to start with, too...
(Fun Fact: There was actually a ride shaped like a helicopter at the last fair I went to, which is what inspired all of this art!)
Of course, there's nothing wrong with having fun in a more relaxed way. Henry might need some downtime away from the crowds, and Charles and Ellie are happy to accommodate.
Who doesn't like a little face paint every once in a while? (Bonus points if you know what the significance of the symbols are!)
A day at the fair can be long and exhausting, but there's still stuff going on after dark! Maybe Charles is a little sensitive to loud noises, or maybe Ellie is legally barred from being near gunpowder, but there's nothing like a picnic under the fireworks to wrap up a fun day!
Technically, fairs and carnivals and such are more late summer things than early winter things, but I had fun making these pictures! I hope you like them too!

Fanfic snippet - Nothing connects people better than a shared cell
To clarify, they are all in jail for the night, because things went south for everyone involved. For Layla and Hans it is nothing new, Kristoff is just a little stressed but Elsa and Anna are terrified, especially since Elsa is not able to just freeze everyone.
After brave Hetician's guards left the room, cursing both drunk students and damned spies, a very awkward silence developed.
"So... not everything went according to plan?" asked Hans, trying to contain the mischievous smile.
"Silence." Elsa advised, propping her head againt the cold, stone wall and, in the same time, holding Anna.
They were both in a disastrous state. For the last six hours the Heticians were grilling them both about being Nadernian's spies. Everytime they hoped they finally believe that it is all just a crazy amount of fatal coincidences, some of them just presented yet another one of "proofs" for their "crimes". At one point it was clear that Anna is starting to lose faith in her own words so Elsa decided to help - as soon as someone has finally patched up her arms. She was trying to sound stern and even a little mean, but she was exhausted and her whole body ached. As a result, no one has believed that they are, in fact, Arendellian queens. But, of course, everyone has been convinced that there may be something wrong with their heads. The only remaining question was - are they just crazy or is it just a decoy to avoid the responsibility for spying for Nadernia?
"Anna?" Kristoff tried to reach his wife's hand through the bars of his cell. "Is everything alright?".
"No, nothing is alright!" She sobbed, totally done with everything. Two rivers of tears just went down her cheeks. Her sister hugged her tighter. "We don't have any way to go back to Arendelle, and maybe that's for the best, because apparently our kingdom is better off governing itself, without our presence, and... And we've just murdered our own consul!"
"You what?!" Yelled three voices unisono.
"We showed him Olaf and he had a heart attack" Elsa explained. "And we did that because wanted to show that we are what we are".
"And... where is Olaf?" Kristoff asked.
"I think in some storage for material evidences" Anna responded. "It was so hot in the embassy he melted... And now we are carrying him around in a bucket".
Hans made sure to remember it, just in case.
"And where is Sven?" Asked Elsa, wiping her sister's face. "And seriously, Kristoff, what have you done?! Why are you here?!"
"Sven is safe and in good hands, I will pick him up tomorrow morning." He assured.
"No, you won't." Hans cut in immediately.
"Why?"
"Because we will all be there for at least fourty eight hours".
"What?!"
"Well, you, Layla and me. I don't know about them. I would need some details".
"We are going to be hanged!" Anna sobbed.
"What?!" Kristoff's face went completely white. "What for? The consul? You told us it was an accident!"
"I know, but then everything became so complicated...!"
It was obvious they won't get anything meaningful from trembling and crying Anna. Elsa was mainly busy with comforting her. Layla decided that they could use some lighter topics.
"Just as a side question... what, for all the seven seas, are you two wearing?"
It was just in this moment when Kristoff and Hans noticed the peculiar clothing.
"Ah... it's from a homeless shelter" Elsa murmured.
"From where?" Kristoff's eyes were just getting bigger and bigger.
"Well, in our clothes no one wanted to take us seriously... well. In those it was even worse".
"Of course it was, you look like you ran away from some circus!" Layla was giggling uncontrolably now. "You should have come to me, in my chests we would find something better".
Elsa looked at her discreetly. She had her doubts if any piece of Layla's - a head shorter but much wider in her chest - clothing would fit any of them.
"Well, maybe it wouldn't be suitable for royality, I admit, but it would still be better than... this". She was still laughing. "The nuns didn't like you two very much, I assume?".
"They... told us we look like seamstresses".
"Yeaaa, right. I can assure you, the seamstresses have their clothes much better matched!"
Anna and Elsa managed to smile a little. The younger one even stopped sobbing.
"Alright... but seriously, Kristoff?" She looked at her husband, eyes still wet and puffy but somewhat brighter. "What are you in here for?"
"Well, officialy for excessive drinking and wandering after curfew" he responded, a little red on his face and completely, utterly sober.
"Excessive drinking?!"
"Well... um... We were singing quite loudly and those nice guards thought..."
"With Hans?!"
"Oh, excuse me!" Said prince interrupted. "Husbands and reindeers abandoned in the docks are free to take for anyone after two hours! It isn't me who's making the rules!"
"That's true, that's the law!" Layla backed him up.
"Wasn't he going to the Library?!"
"I was, but it didn't go particulary well". Hans had no intention of losing his cool. "Terrible queues, horrible waiting time. We just took a small part of what I wanted. Those available to take immediately. Maybe I will go back when they will let us go from there. Anyway, Kristoff was with me, because he was hoping to meet you there, since you intended to see the Library too, right? Well, nevermind. After we were sent away with almost nothing, we went sightseeing. Beautiful city, awful University, wouldn't recommend."
"Yes, "awful University", but you would very much like to go to this conference, am I right?" Kristoff decided that since captain Westergaard started to talk himself, he may as well add something. Apparently, that part was not top secret.
"Of course I would! I have to go back and borrow some of those posters. It would make a great souvenir. Maybe I will take two and send one of them to the Isles. I wonder how they will like the topics of those lectures. I would die to see Caleb trying to justify some of his border incidents to them. And to see him promising he will lead us into the modern times". He couldn't hold his laugh anymore. "Seriously, I can't believe anyone would have such hopes for any of us, anytime!"
"What is he talking about...?" Anna slightly tilted her head.
Kristoff smiled and started to talk. He described everything, up to the moment when Hans decided he wants those books right there, right now and therefore they are going to go with breaking and entering into the Library. Before he could get onto this, the prince decided to continue for him and started to do what he could do the best - flipping the script.
"We've met Layla in the town, so it would be rude not to say hi..."
"And I know just the right place to do so!" Layla chimmed in immediately to cover for them.
"Exactly. We went and in the bar there were sailors from Heticia's navy. They were singing, so we joined them... We didn't even drink that much, but when we've decided to go back to the ship, we were still singing... We forgot the city is under martial law and even if it wasn't, we still should've have a light with us. So, that happened. My fault."
"And mine!" Layla admitted and tried to make the most regretful and miserable face possible. It didn't go well. "I am so very, very sorry for demoralizing your husband, Ma'am Highness". She knelt before Anna. "Here is my head. You can smack me in it, but I would prefer it to stay on my neck, if you may".
At this point Anna was completely comforted and amused already. She wiped the last tears away.
"I think... In the name of the kingdom of Arendelle I can forgive this faux pax". She said, pretending to be serious. "As long as it is the last time!".
"Oh, of course!" Layla didn't even bother to pretend she didn't just winked at Kristoff. He also laughed, feeling a little more confident, despite circumstances.

i believe my bf heelel is into some kinks. i wonder- like curious to know what kinks and positions he has tried so far on the reader,u dont have to describe them if u dont want to,u can even list it out idm!
Oh it’s fine. Lol this blog knows no shame.
So since Se7en is about or over a year old now (maybe more, can’t remember off the top of my head) let’s just say….a shorter list is what hasn’t he done…bc by now, you both covered every single position known to man and have done a lot…ALOT. Heelel has no limits or boundaries, since he is so very obsessed with reader, he has done everything (even against her own wishes) that’s the type of guy he is. It’s not necessarily just bc he’s the devil. It’s bc he is insanely in love with you that he has to (metaphorically speaking) devour every inch of you. I’m talking fucking your tits, anal, and oral (both you and him receiving. I picture him being very fond of the 69 position.)
Like heethan, he is also a masochist. But he kind of overdoes it bc…he’s the devil. He wants to see broken skin, blood, toes curling, and screams. Ofc it’s all in the line of pleasure, like he’s never going to just go and do physical harm to you that would cause great pain and injury for no reason. To everyone else, yes. Do you? No. But pain with pleasure, hell yeah.
I’ve also had a random thought of just how far he would go in his pace and momentum, and the man is relentless. I randomly thought of him fucking reader so hard, that she ended up vomiting due to exhaustion and just being railed so hard. (It was seriously a random thought bc sometimes I think about heelel and heethan from time to time.) but that gives you an idea.
I also had a thought where he stole Asmodeus’s ancient and original scripture of the Kama Sutra, and kept it so he could replicate all the positions with you, and even alternate some of them to better fit his desire. He loves making you feel good, but there are some times…the man is selfish and wants to feel good, even if you’re hurting.
My random thought about the anal piece was when I was answering some asks. I didn’t draft it but it came to my head out of nowhere and the way I saw it go down is, reader being hesitant bc she’s never done it before and wasn’t feeling too comfortable about it, but heelel forced the issue and pretty much restrained her with his own hands and just went for it. He was rough all up until he lined the tip to her rear, he actually got a bit gentle bc he knew it was her first time doing it, so he kind of verbally guides her. “Take a deep breath baby, this is going to sting a little.” Heelel spent lifetimes playing (and murdering) the succubus’s and stray angels, so he’s very experienced. I pictured him clicking his tongue and tapping the tip of his d*ck on your rear cheeks and calmly telling you to take a deep breath, and exhale as he enters. He still had readers wrists pinned behind her lower back with one hand while he used the other to slide in and as he goes in inch by inch, he would say things like “breath, hold. Now exhale.” And once he was all the way in, he’d thrust in and out at a very slow pace, giving you time to stop sobbing and start enjoying. Once he hears your moans coming in, he’ll pick up the pace and go harder and harder. He’ll watch reader go from sobbing victim of non-con to a filthy minx that wants more of him. And he loves to witness that transition. The second time around you guys do it, he ditches the slow and understanding pace and just goes for it, making that first noise coming out of your mouth a sharp yelp.
He’s very dominate, so any position that would render him vulnerable is out the window. He’s always going to be in control. Sven if you’re on top, those hands of his are going to be squeezing your waist and you’re basically being lifted repeatedly and slammed down by his rhythm.
On oral sex….bro…I picture this dude to be extremely brutal! Like making you choke on it, taking it out every once in a while to slap your face with it, sticking it back in your mouth and forcing you to gag on it until your throat bleeds. He’s a raging beast and that’s the whole reason why he made you go through all his brothers to turn you immortal, bc mortal version do you won’t survive.
He has a few favorite positions: reverse cowgirl, standing missionary, you straddled on his lap while he’s on his throne, and doggy.
And yes…he still likes to give it to you in his demon form or partially demon form. A lot of ppl did not like this or felt uncomfortable, but that’s what heelel likes. He’s twisted and very sadistic (the devil y’all) and he likes to make reader uncomfortable sometimes bc he loves seeing you scared and begging, but loves it even more when he sees you transition from being scared to wanting him more. I usually picture him doing you with his horns/antlers protruding out of his head. Since he doesn’t have regular devil horns like the devil is traditional portrayed with, he has a pair of beautiful and magnificent antlers, like an elk. When he’s in his full demon form, he almost looks like a wendigo, and he can adjust his size and be either colossal (like in the battle towards the end of the series) or he can be 7 feet tall (which is usually how big he’ll become when fucking you…get ready to take in 12 inches)
When he is fucking you in his demon form, it is very sinful and demonic, and you’ll feel very ashamed and dirty after it’s all done, but he won’t care. All he can think about is how much you were screaming and begging for him to keep going. Again, it always starts off with you fighting and begging him to not do it, but once he starts hurting your spot and making you leak everytime the tip of his dick punches it, you kind of go dumb (literally fucks uou dumb) and you’re a slob wrong mess.

Day Two- Titanic AU
April 10th, 1912
Ruby stood on the docks with John B as he read over the tickets for the millionth time, eyebrows furrowed as he once again read the note their father had left before he went missing.
Ruby didn’t seem to mind, she saw America as a fresh start, an opportunity for her to be a successful artist, and John B a well off fisherman.
But her stomach soured as she looked at the huge engagement ring on her finger; Rafe Cameron, her forced fiancé would also be joining them along with his family.
Rafe and his family were first class, but instead of extending the offer to John B and Ruby, he let them be casted away down to third class.
Meanwhile, JJ sat in the bar with Pope, two other men; Olaf and Sven; sat across from them. The four playing a game of poker.
The table was littered with loose change and cash, a pocket watch, a swissarmy knife, but most importantly, two first class tickets to the R.M.S. Titanic.
JJ brushed his hair out of his eyes, bringing his cigarette up to his lips, taking a drag before exhaling the smoke; flicking the ashes into the small circular tray.
“JJ c’mon man..” Pope whispered, eyeing his own cards nervously, “nothing to lose right..?”JJ whispered back, drawing another card from the stack.
Pope shook his head, bringing his glass up to his lips and taking a long sip of the beer; JJ was impulsive, one wrong move and they’d be living under a bridge.
JJ’s lips twitched into a smirk as he eyed his cards, faking sadness as he sighed, “Pope I’m sorry..” he muttered and Pope’s heart dropped into his stomach as he opened his mouth to respond.
“I’m sorry we won’t be staying here anymore. We’re going to America! Full house boys!” JJ cheered, slamming his cards down onto the table.
Pope sighed in relief, the two best friends quickly gathering their things, money and tickets before hauling ass to the ship- they only had five minutes.
Thankfully they made it in time, making their way to the rooms and getting adjusted- man first class rooms were incredible.
JJ couldn’t wait to go home.
April 11th, 1912
Ruby was miserable, forced to be around Rafe at practically every second. She felt as though she was suffocating, unable to handle the weight of having to be perfect at all times.
Every now and then Sarah would give her a sympathetic look before going back to talking to Sage, the Medici’s daughter, the family was very close with the Cameron’s.
John B was having a better time, focusing on the water and his newfound admiration for Sage, he hoped that she would notice him.
Ruby zoned out at the dinner table, a look of longing and disgust on her face as Rafe kept whispering in her ear. She couldn’t handle this life anymore.
Afterwards Ruby stood in her room, frantically trying to get out of the fancy clothes, sobbing as she yanked her hair out of its fancy updo.
She gave up and ran out of the room, knocking into to several people as she ran up to the first class deck, makeup, dress and hair a wreck as loud sobs left her lips.
Ruby made her way to the stern, her hands finding the railing as tears streamed down her face- she felt guilty for leaving her brother behind, but it all had become too much.
She couldn’t imagine a life with Rafe Cameron, not one she wanted. And she knew this was her only way out.
She took a shaky breath and nodded to herself, climbing over the railing and turning so her back was against it, looking down into the crashing waves below.
Ruby swallowed hard, mentally preparing herself for what she was about to do, getting ready to let go.
“don’t do it..” JJ’s voice rung out and she turned her head, eyes wide, “stay back! don’t come any closer! I’ll let go, I mean it!” Ruby weakly threatened, her voice cracking.
JJ thought for a moment before showing her the cigarette between his fingers, stepping closer to throw it over the railing.
“no you won’t..” He said and she scoffed, “what makes you think I won’t?” She questioned.
“well if you jump in I’m gonna have to jump in there after you” JJ said casually, “are you insane? You’ll be killed” Ruby said, glancing back at him.
JJ shrugged, a smile playing on his lips, “I guess that’s kinda why I’m hoping you’ll help me out here..” he said, holding out his hand to her.
Ruby nodded once, reaching back and intertwining her hand with his, allowing him to help her slowly turn back around.
“I’m JJ.. JJ Maybank..” He offered with a smile, “Ruby Routledge..” She breathed out, looking in his eyes.
Ruby went to step up on the rail, her high heel getting stuck on the end of her dress and causing her to slip with a shrill scream, JJ’s hands automatically finding her arm.
Her eyes were wide with fear, both of her hands desperately clinging to his, “don’t- don’t let go please!” She sobbed, her body starting to shake, “ hey! Hey I’ve got you alright? I won’t let go.. I promise” He said.
Ruby nodded, both of them using all their strength to pull her back onto the ship, the two of them tumbling onto the deck in a heap.
Two crew members ran over, no doubt hearing her screams, and unfortunately, the two of them looked to be in a sketchy situation.
Ruby felt guilty as the handcuffs were placed on JJ, looking down in shame as Rafe began to scream at him.
“Rafe! He didn’t do anything! I slipped” Ruby said, it wasn’t the whole truth, but at least she could protect JJ.
“what..?” Rafe breathed out, “I was leaning over the railing and I slipped” Ruby lied, JJ giving her a questioning look.
“You slipped?” Rafe questioned, “I was leaning far over to see the um, uh, the- the propellers! And I slipped! And I would’ve gone over if it wasn’t for Mr. Maybank here, he almost went over himself trying to save me” Ruby explained, clasping her hands together.
After that it all worked out, JJ was released and even invited to join them at dinner, and suddenly Ruby could breathe a little easier.
She paid no mind when Rafe presented her with the heart of the ocean that night, she knew it was all just for show.
She wished JJ was the man she was set to marry.
April 12th, 1912
Ruby spent the day with JJ, getting to know all about him and thanking him profusely for the night before, eager to show her gratitude in some way.
He told her over and over again that he didn’t need anything in return, so she showed him her sketchbook and learned he was also an artist himself.
Every minute Ruby felt herself falling harder and harder for JJ, wishing she could live a carefree life with him.
They even made plans to travel together once the ship docked, she silently prayed those plans weren’t a false promise.
When it was time for dinner Ruby took pride in the way she looked, she could clean up nice for a third class girl.
She walked to the grand staircase with a newfound happiness in knowing she would be seeing JJ, also feeling happiness for John B as Sage had asked him to escort her to dinner.
Ruby swore her heart stopped when she saw JJ at the bottom of the staircase, he could clean up really well- however she was eager to mess up his hair, the slicked back look didn’t suit him.
He flashed her a smile, watching as she placed her hand in his, their fingers intertwining, however the moment was short lived.
“well Maybank. Looks like you can clean up nice” Rafe sneered, looping his arm through Sarah’s who rolled her eyes in response, clearly unimpressed that her brother was going to be escorting her tonight.
JJ however paid no mind to the comments, placing a soft kiss on the back of Ruby’s hand that made her heart do a flip, blood rushing to her cheeks in a scarlet glow.
She looped her arm through his, a quiet laugh escaping her lips as he pretended to be snobby, grinning as he was able to get her to relax.
Ruby couldn’t remember a time she’d felt at this at ease, or had butterflies in her stomach- Rafe had never made her feel this way.
The whole night the table tried making jabs at JJ, but he would just laugh it off and come up with some witty reply. He didn’t seem to care what they thought of him.
By the end of dinner Ruby could feel her happiness slipping away, sadness creeping in as she realized JJ would have to go and she would be alone until Rafe and her brother were done drinking brandy and smoking cigarettes.
“bye JJ..” Ruby said quietly, a soft smile on her lips as JJ held her hand, “I’ll see you around..” JJ promised, kissing the back of her hand before walking away, glancing back at her.
She felt a piece of paper in her hand and her eyes widened as she read it,
‘meet me at the clock. Make it count.’
Ruby smiled and glanced around, realizing no one was paying attention and stood, making her way to the staircase.
The two locked eyes as he stood at the top of the steps, a smirk playing on his lips as he held his hand out to her.
“ so, you wanna go to a real party?”
April 13th, 1912
Ruby had spent the entire night down in third class with JJ, she’d met Pope and his girlfriend Cleo.
Things were going great, until she realized Rafe had sent Kiara to find out where she was as she wasn’t there to greet him in his room.
Ruby made her way up to first class, annoyed of how she had a third class ticket but Rafe had bribed workers into letting her into first class areas.
That’s how she ended up on the balcony with Rafe, mixing the sugar in her tea as she admired the water.
“I’d hoped you’d accompany me last night.” Rafe said flatly, “I was tired.. I went to bed early” Ruby said quietly, taking a small sip of her tea.
Rafe scoffed and shook his head, “I’m sure you’re excursions below deck were exhausting no doubt” Rafe said coldly.
Ruby looked down into her tea cup before straightening up, “you had your little lap dog follow me?” She asked and Rafe remained quiet.
“Rafe. I’m not some worker you can command. I’m your fiancé.” Ruby quipped and Rafe laughed, “my fiancé? Then be my fiancé!” Rafe shouted, throwing the table across the deck.
He lent down and tightly wrapped his hand around her throat, “my wife in practice if not yet by law. You will honor me the way a wife is required to honor a husband. Do I make myself clear?” Rafe growled and Ruby nodded frantically.
He let go of her throat and left the room, leaving her struggling to catch her breath as the maid came over to clean up the mess.
“I-I’m so sorry.. l-let me h-help..” Ruby choked out, sinking to the floor and struggling to clean up the glass with shaking hands, “it’s alright miss.. it’s alright..” The maid soothed.
Ruby let out a strangled sob, her hand clutching her chest as her eyes were filled with nothing but pure terror.
Later that morning Ruby mostly stayed quiet during the church service, stood between Rafe and John B, still feeling her anxiety.
She forced herself to zone out, which is why she didn’t notice JJ was trying to get her attention and later being removed.
She didn’t utter a single word, well until Mr. Andrews was showing them the lifeboats, she quickly pointed out that it didn’t seem there were enough.
Mr. Andrews found her knowledge extraordinary, but Rafe found it annoying, harshly pinching her hip before catching up with everyone else.
Ruby stayed back for a moment, wiping away a few stray tears that had fallen before beginning to walk again, shrieking as JJ pulled her into the gym.
“JJ I-i can’t..” Ruby rushed out, trying to leave but JJ caught her by the arms, “I just had to make sure you’re alright..” JJ murmured.
She swallowed hard and fought back tears, “I’m fine.. really I am..” She whispered, “Rubes..” He said quietly.
“JJ I’m engaged to Rafe. I love him, really I do” She said, it was a total lie but she had to do this, “I don’t believe you..” He said, searching her eyes.
“You jump I jump Rubes.. I can’t walk away without knowing you’ll be alright..” JJ whispered, “I’ll be fine..” Ruby choked out.
“you’re gonna die if you don’t get out Rubes.. that fire I love about you? He’s gonna put it out..” JJ reasoned, cradling her cheek in his hand, “I have to go..” Ruby murmured, pulling away and walking out.
At tea she sat with Rose, Wheezie, Kiara, Sarah and Sage- and as the girls gossiped Ruby realized just how terrible this life would be, so she stood up and left.
Ruby made her way to the front of the ship, finding JJ there, leaning over the railing and watching the waves, her heart fluttered as she admired him.
“JJ..” She called out, a soft smile on her lips as he turned to face her, “I changed my mind..” She said softly, automatically putting her hand in his as he held it out to her.
“do you trust me?” He asked, “always..” She responded, allowing him to help her up onto the railing, subconsciously leaning her body back into his as he stood behind her.
Something about him made her feel free, like she wasn’t being tied down. She felt loved and god was it an incredible feeling.
Ruby didn’t know what came over her in that moment, but she turned her head, capturing JJ’s lips in her own, in the most passionate kiss she’d ever had.
After that she followed JJ to his room, he said he wanted to draw her and she took him up on the offer, looking around his room in awe.
Ruby reached into her purse, grabbing the heart of the ocean, feeling its weight in her palm- Rafe saw her as a possession, not a real thing. Much like this diamond.
She smiled to herself and presented it to JJ, laughing quietly at his reaction, “he always said I was scandalous.. but uh.. I understand if you don’t want to-“ She started, “I’ll do it..” He breathed out.
Ruby was a virgin, it was true, no man had ever seen her bare before- this was embarrassing and somehow erotic for them both.
But the way he treated her with respect, every now and then cracking jokes to ease her mind through it all only made her fall harder for him.
After it was over Ruby stood behind JJ, admiring the drawing with red cheeks, in awe of it.
“thank you..” she whispered, giving him a small kiss that quickly turned heated.
The two of them snuck into Rafe’s room, putting the necklace back into the safe along with the drawing and note.
Ruby went to change her clothes into something more comfortable while JJ went outside to have a smoke, shivering as he realized how cold it was.
A knock sounded on the door and Kiara’s voice rung out, Ruby quickly grabbed JJ’s hand, the two of them sneaking out the back door.
They both quickly took off running, Kiara chasing them until they got to the elevator, jumping in as Ruby waved to Kiara and held up her middle finger.
But once lower she found them again, the two quickly running into the boiler room to get away, but the workers noticed them.
So they ran again, running and laughing until they got into the storage room, finally finding a quiet place to hide as JJ led them to the car.
Ruby sat in the back, admiring him as he was like a little kid, unable to help herself as she pulled him into the back with her, snuggling up against him.
She looked into his eyes, playing with his fingers until she brought them to her lips, kissing each one until he got the message of what she wanted, connecting their lips in a heated kiss as he laid her down against the seat.
After that it was all a blur, all she could focus on was his body rocking into hers, her hand slapping against the window as she came undone.
She held him close as he laid his head against her chest, petting his hair as they shared a few more heated kisses.
The afterglow was short lived as they heard voices, both scrambling to get dressed and running some place to hide, laughing as they found the empty car and running out the side door.
JJ spun Ruby around outside, spinning her around as their laughter echoed until she held the sides of his face.
“when the ship docks.. I’m getting off with you..” She whispered, looking in his eyes, “this is insane..” He breathed out and she giggled, “I know, that’s why I trust it..” She said, allowing him to pull her into another kiss.
But little did they know tragedy was about to strike, an iceberg was right ahead, but there was too much speed and not enough time to miss it.
A horrid screeching sounded out as the iceberg completely tore apart the starboard side, the lower quarters filling up with water in a matter of seconds.
April 14th, 1912
Everyone was in a calm panic, the workers trying to hide that the ship had struck an iceberg, but JJ and Ruby overheard and immediately went to go find John B.
But once inside she was met with a very angry Rafe Cameron and the Master of arms who began to search JJ.
“Rafe what’s going on?” Ruby demanded, “something very dear to me has been stolen.” Rafe hissed.
Ruby’s heart dropped as the necklace was pulled from JJ’s pocket, “ Rue- baby c’mon you know I didn’t..” JJ tried, but she was in too much of a state of shock to reply, not even hearing his shouts of her name as he was drug away.
She stood there for a few moments, replaying everything in her head, there’s no way JJ could’ve taken the necklace, she was the one who put it away and he didn’t know the code.
Rafe stood across from her, his jaw set as he eyed her in disgust, it was clear he had found her drawing and read the note.
“Rafe I-“ She started, yelping as he back handed her so hard that her head whipped to the other side, a bright red handprint already forming.
Ruby clutched her cheek, trying to process what just happened and recover from the dizziness as one of the crew members came in.
She barely heard what was said as she put on her jacket, following everyone else to the grand staircase, waiting for the next bout of orders.
Ruby overheard Mr Andrews saying that the ship was indeed going to sink and her heart dropped, JJ was down in the crew section of the ship. There’s no way he’d be let on a lifeboat.
Her heart raced as she followed everyone outside onto the deck- she couldn’t leave JJ here to die for a crime he didn’t even commit.
She saw her brother with Sage, it turns out she had dressed him as a woman to guarantee he would safely get off the ship.
Ruby felt her heart ease at that, at least John B would be safe from any harm.
She eyed the lifeboat, her nose wrinkling in anger, “Ruby. Get on the boat” Rose beckoned, “Rose, Sarah.. I’m sorry. Kie take my seat.” Ruby said and backed away.
She couldn’t do this, she’d rather die trying to save the man she loved then leave and be forced to marry an abuser.
“Ruby! What are you doing!” Rafe growled, grabbing her by the shoulders, “ let go of me!” Ruby yelled, “look at you. A whore to a gutter rat! It’s a shame really, that drawing would be worth so much more by morning” Rafe seethed.
Ruby searched his eyes and shook her head, “you unimaginable bastard..I’d rather be his whore than your wife..” She breathed out , fighting against him as he tried to bring her back to him, hauling back and spitting right in his face.
She used his shock and took a her chance to run like hell, determined to find JJ and get him out of there.
She found Mr. Andrews, begging and pleading with him until he told her exactly where JJ was, she didn’t care if the elevators were closed. She needed to get down there.
Ruby swallowed hard as the elevator filled with water, shoving past the worker as she made her way out, repeating the room number out loud until she found what one he was in.
“ JJ! JJ I’m sorry! I’m so sorry!” Ruby cried, trudging through the water to get to him, throwing her arms around his neck.
“Rubes..” JJ breathed out, kissing her forehead, “I’m gonna get you out okay? ‘M gonna help..” Ruby murmured.
“It was a silver key. I don’t know where he put it” JJ said and she nodded, searching the whole room for the key, wanting to cry in frustration as she only found brass ones.
“I’m gonna find someone okay? I promise I’m not leaving you here” Ruby said, kissing JJ one last time before running out, determined to find someone, anyone who could get him out.
She ran up and down every hallway, shuddering in fear as the power went in and out, but she had to do this, she had to save him.
Ruby saw the axe and nodded to herself, smashing the glass and grabbing it, running down to the stairwell.
She swallowed hard as the water was almost fully up the steps, she shrugged off her jacket and grabbed the axe, gasping as she was met with freezing cold water.
But Ruby was determined, shivering as she trudged through the water, axe held tightly in her hands as she made her way into the room, her lips already tinged blue.
“this is all I could find..” Ruby said, shivering violently, “ alright- alright do a couple practice swings, we only got one shot” JJ said and she nodded.
She did a couple swings like he said but there wasn’t enough time- she made her way over to him, her hands shaking from how cold she was.
He nodded once at her and she squeezed her eyes shut, swinging the axe and cutting the handcuffs off of him.
JJ cheered in relief, grabbing the sides of Ruby’s face and pulling her into a kiss, gasping in shock as he went into the water.
The two couldn’t go the way out, so they had to break through one of the moldings, finally glad to be out of the freezing water.
Now they just had to make it all the way up to the lifeboats.
Up top Rafe was searching for Ruby and trying to get on his own boat, pacing around as people were starting to go into a frenzy.
JJ and Ruby ended up in third class, finding Pope and Cleo fighting to get the gate unlocked, but the worker was refusing to help them.
Cleo wrapped Ruby in a blanket, noticing the way she was still violently shaking as JJ and Pope tried to form a plan of how to get out.
The other gate was no use either, so JJ and Pope did the only thing they could, ripping the bench out of the floor and smashing it through the gate, JJ helping Ruby up and over.
The four of them stuck together, frantically moving through crowds of people- so many people that it made Ruby’s head spin.
They found a boat on the other side, but Cleo was unwilling to leave Pope behind, she loved him too much.
Ruby’s eyes frantically searched the area, her heart sinking as Rafe came up behind them.
“Ruby c’mon.. baby get on the boat..” JJ whispered and she shook her head, “no.. not without you..” Ruby whispered back, tears already filling her eyes.
“there’s a boat for men. But you better hurry Ruby. This one’s almost full” Rafe said and she shrunk in on herself, “ see? I got my own boat to catch” JJ said softly.
Rafe put his jacket on Ruby and she cringed, searching JJ’s eyes, she didn’t want to leave him behind.
But she didn’t have a chance to respond before she was being pulled onto the boat, tears streaming down her face.
“there’s uh.. there’s no boat is there?” JJ asked and Rafe smirked, “oh there is. Just not for you” Rafe said cockily.
Ruby’s eyes frantically searched everything around her, she couldn’t do this.
So she jumped, right off the lifeboat and onto one of the lower levels, both of them running as fast as they could to get to each other.
At the bottom of the staircase, Ruby jumped into JJ’s arms as she sobbed between feverish kisses, “you jump I jump right?” She cried, “right..” he breathed out, his voice cracking.
The moment was short lived as Rafe came in, he had finally snapped and pulled out a gun, shooting at them as JJ and Ruby ran, getting away.
They ran until their legs hurt, pausing as they heard a little boy crying, going down the steps and following the sound.
“we can’t leave him..” Ruby said and JJ nodded in agreement, running over and grabbing the little boy as they frantically searched for a way out.
The boys father came out, yelling at them as he went the wrong way, the water breaking through as JJ and Ruby fought to outrun it, getting swept up until they landed against a gate, using it as leverage to get up to the stairs.
Ruby shook the gate and so did JJ, “no- no god!” Ruby choked out, the two of them saw a working, begging for his help to unlock the gate.
But in his panicked rush, he dropped the keys into the water and made a run for it. Ruby sobbed, begging him not to go as JJ went under, finding the keys.
The two chose one and went for it, Ruby sobbing in fear as the water climbed higher as JJ struggled to get the key in.
Eventually he got it unlocked, the two of them frantically going through and up the steps, shivering from the water.
They made their way back up to the deck, keeping a tight grip on each other as they made their way through the crowds.
They made their way to the stern, they could feel it starting to lift as they struggled to make their way up, gripping each others hand tighter.
Ruby was terrified, she didn’t know if they would even survive this, no ships were responding to the SOS signals. They were all doomed.
They found Pope and Cleo again, the couple in a similar situation as them, clinging to each other for warmth and safety as they held onto the rails.
Ruby tucked herself against JJ, scared tears streaming down her face, “JJ.. this is where we first met..” She breathed out.
JJ held her tighter, pulling her small frame up further as he kissed the top of her head, refusing to let her go.
The screams were terrifying, of horror, of sadness or even both. But whatever the cause, Ruby knew it would be engraved into her brain forever.
The stern began to rise more and more, JJ moved over the railing, helping Ruby do the same as Pope and Cleo copied their actions.
Ruby’s fingers gripped the railing tightly with one hand, while the other had a death grip on JJ’s, feeling her stomach churn as she watched so many people fall.
She watched one man jump off the ship, hitting off the propellers with a sickening crunch. She’d never get that image out of her head.
Suddenly the ship lost power and split in half, the stern slamming down into the water before being drug back up.
Ruby shook in fear, sobbing as JJ kept a tight hold on her, looking down into the dark ocean below.
He talked her through it, easing her mind the tiniest bit as he tried to distract her from all the screams.
They shared a look with Pope and Cleo, both couples wishing each other good luck and hoping they would survive this as the stern began to sink.
Ruby sobbed as the water came faster, not once letting go of JJ’s hand, taking a deep breath when he said as the stern went under.
The two were met with freezing water, struggling to keep hold of each other as the suction forced them apart.
Ruby swam up, frantically searching for JJ and calling out his name, sobbing in fear as she couldn’t find him, swimming as far as she could.
Eventually they found each other and JJ led Ruby to a large piece of wood, helping her on first then getting on after.
The two shivered, spotting Pope and Cleo a bit away, sighing in relief as they were safe.
JJ and Ruby huddled against each other, shivering violently as they struggled for some type of warmth.
“it’s alright.. we’ll be alright now.. the boats are gonna come back for us Rubes..” JJ promised, kissing the side of her head, Ruby nodded, too weak to do anything else.
Hours went by and there was still no boats, the screams had gone down and now the darkness was eerily quiet.
Ruby looked up at the stars, lips blue, eyes hazy and skin covered in ice, JJ looked the same.
“I love you JJ..” Ruby murmured, “don’t.. don’t say it like that, we aren’t saying goodbye yet.. we’re gonna survive okay..? And we’re gonna get married and die old and in bed together alright..? Not here..” JJ promised and Ruby sobbed.
“winning that ticket is the best thing that ever happened to me.. it brought me to you..” JJ choked out, the two of them clinging to each other tighter.
Another hour went by and Ruby could feel her body giving up, she could still hear JJ’s breaths, but his were also becoming labored.
Suddenly she saw a flash of light and blinked, sitting up as ice cracked off her and JJ, she saw it again. It was a flashlight.
“JJ.. the boats..” Ruby gasped out, “g-go..” JJ shuddered, he was too weak to move, Ruby searched his eyes and nodded.
She forced herself to swim, going over to the man with the whistle and grabbing it, using all her strength to blow it.
It must’ve worked because the boat came back, she begged them to get JJ and they did. Huddling against each other as they were wrapped in blankets and given hot tea.
“you scared me.. i-i thought you were gonna die..” Ruby cried, nuzzling herself against him, “I promised you I wouldn’t baby.. I promised..” JJ soothed, wiping her tears away.
Once on the Carpathia, the two realized the heart of the ocean was in Ruby’s pocket, and once they docked at New York City they claimed it had been lost at sea and got the insurance money.
She took his last name on the boat, they had gotten engaged as soon as they stepped foot in New York, they didn’t want to wait.
JJ had stayed true to his word, they moved to the Outer Banks; Cleo and Pope joined them and she found John B and Sage as well.
JJ and Ruby got married and had two kids while running a successful business; they lived to tell the tale of what had happened that night.
And JJ was right, they went together old and warm in their bed.
But the best part? Was in heaven JJ was back to that same eighteen year old she fell in love with, that wildness in his eyes. And she was seventeen all over again, kissing him as though it was the very first time.
She was home.

"Your friend over there has a staring problem."
"Maybe he's just admiring you."

─── ✦⋅ ☆⋅✦ ───
After fervently pleading with Alfred to allow Ragnar to join me in the quest to rescue Uhtred, we found ourselves in Northumbria with Steapa by our side. Uhtred's figure, recognizable from a distance, held a sword thrust into his hands by none other than Sven, the one-eyed fool who couldn't seem to get a grip.
"Uhtred!" I cried, tears welling in my eyes as I sprinted towards him. It had taken two years, and after an arduous and exasperating search, we finally located him. Every moment of those two years felt like an eternity, filled with relentless pursuit and mounting desperation. Now, at last, our efforts had borne fruit, and he was within our grasp.
Ragnar's men engaged in a fierce battle against Sven's guards, but my sole focus was on reaching Uhtred.
At first, he appeared stunned, his expression a mixture of disbelief and overwhelming emotion. Then, as if unable to contain the flood of feelings any longer, he broke down. With tears streaming down his face, he pulled me into a tight embrace, his body shaking with sobs.
In that moment, I cradled his cheeks in my hands, tenderly wiping away the tears that cascaded from his eyes, feeling the weight of his vulnerability in my arms.
Emotions surged within me, an overwhelming mix of relief, joy, and sorrow. All I could do was share in his tears, offering understanding. Leaning in, I pressed a gentle kiss to his tear-stained cheek, a silent gesture of comfort and solidarity.
As Ragnar approached, I stepped back, allowing the brothers their long-awaited reunion. Despite my reluctance to leave my dear friend's side, I knew this moment belonged to them.
Moving down the line, I freed the other slaves. Hesitating at a man who locked eyes with me intensely, his eyes glanced at my sword, then at a man and back into my eyes again.
I unsheathed my sword, nudging it towards him with a nod. He grasped it shakily before strengthening his grip on it, stumbling a little towards the man, uttering words I couldn't decipher. Without warning, the sword plunged deep into the man's throat, and he fell to his knees in satisfaction.
I glanced at Ragnar and Uhtred talking before I approached the man. Kneeling beside him, I took my sword back, gently pulling him into me as he wept. No one would deny such comfort after everything they had been through.
"What's your name?" I murmured, pulling back and sitting across from him. "Finan," he mumbled with an accent, his voice was hoarse and weak. "Finan, do you happen to be Irish?" I asked with a small smile, and he nodded.
"How can you tell?" he inquired, and I chuckled. "It's the charming accent," I said, getting up and brushing the dirt off my legs. He looked up at me intensely studying my features and I let him briefly before offering my hand, he gracefully took it hoisting himself up as we joined the others.
Around a fire, Uhtred, Finan, Ragnar, Steapa, and I gathered.
"What of Halig?" I asked quietly feeling Uhtred's arm wrap around me as we huddled together under my cape, attempting to keep warm from the biting wind.
"Halig fought relentlessly," Uhtred replied softly, his words carrying the weight of unspoken grief. I nodded in understanding, a pang of sorrow settling in the pit of my stomach. I blinked back tears, determined to maintain composure for the sake of these weary men.
The memory of Halig's bravery weighed heavily on our hearts, yet I knew dwelling on his loss would only deepen the wounds we carried.
As Uhtred rested his head on my shoulder, I offered what little comfort I could, gently stroking his hair as his fingers traced the tattoo on my arm with a tenderness that spoke volumes.
"Alfred sent us," Ragnar broke the silence, his words cutting through the quiet like a blade, causing Uhtred to look up at him with a mixture of surprise and curiosity. "Y/n had to beg, but he eventually gave in," Ragnar added, a hint of amusement in his voice, eliciting a quiet laugh from me as I remembered the lengths I had gone to.
"I actually got on my hands and knees," I confessed, a wry smile tugging at the corners of my lips, the memory of my desperation still fresh in my mind. "All just to save you," I whispered, feeling Uhtred's grateful squeeze on my arm and the fleeting kiss he pressed to my forehead.
"It didn't take much convincing, though," I continued, my gaze meeting Uhtred's with a mixture of fondness and amusement. "Seems the king has taken quite a liking to you," I remarked, noting the irony in the situation, which prompted a quiet laugh from Uhtred, a glint of amusement dancing in his eyes.
Ragnar shifted his attention to Finan, his eyes scanning the group with a keen intensity. "Your relationship with Uhtred?" he questioned. Without hesitation, Finan met my gaze, his expression unwavering. "We are bound," he replied simply, his words carrying the weight of unspoken loyalty.
As the fire dwindled, casting long shadows across the field, I found Uhtred asleep amidst the grass. Approaching him with care, I gently called his name, stirring him from his slumber. As I began to cut away his shirt, my heart sank at the sight of welts marring his back.
Working methodically, I set about cleaning and trimming his hair, my hands moving with purpose. "You have yet to properly look me in the eyes," I remarked softly, breaking the silence that hung heavy between us. Uhtred hesitated for a moment before confessing, "I am ashamed of what I've become."
Placing his sword within reach, I met his gaze with unwavering resolve. "You are Uhtred of Bebbanburg," I affirmed, my voice steady with conviction. "The reason I am alive today. You gave me hope in the darkest of times and never once abandoned me. Remember who you are." A flicker of realization passed over him, and he exhaled, reaching for his sword.
"You are the reason Alfred sent help. For that, you will always have my protection," he admitted.
"Iseult said you were my destiny, and she was right," he whispered, his fingers tracing the ring on my finger, a parting gift from Iseult, a precious memento cherished so very dearly. "Without you, I doubt I could have endured any longer."
His touch was tender, his voice heavy with emotion as he spoke of the woman who had brought us together.
"She was never wrong," I replied softly, my thoughts turning to Iseult and Leofric, whose presence lingered in the quiet spaces between our words. "It's a shame they couldn't witness our reconciliation."
Teasingly, I added, "You'll have to make it up to me for the fact that I had to plead to a man like Alfred, though." Uhtred laughed, the sound a balm to the wounds of the past.
Rising to my feet, I offered my hand to him. "Now, come on. We need to nourish you and restore you to your old self. Gisela is waiting for you," I said, guiding him back towards the warmth of the campfire.
Finan observed us with a somber expression, his gaze lingering on Uhtred and me as we shared a moment of laughter. Sensing his stare, I nudged Uhtred playfully and whispered, "Your friend over there seems to have a staring problem."
Uhtred glanced in Finan's direction, and I gently pushed his face back towards mine, confirming that indeed, Finan's eyes were fixed on us.
I fed Uhtred another piece of bread, and as he swallowed, he remarked with a hint of amusement, "Maybe he's just admiring you." Uhtred's laughter filled the air, and I rolled my eyes in response.
"Or maybe I'm the first woman he's seen in two years," I retorted, adding a touch of sarcasm to my words. Uhtred chuckled, his voice warm as he countered, "Don't belittle yourself, you are a beautiful woman."
Blushing at his compliment, I mockingly warned, "I'm going to tell Gisela," earning yet another laugh from Uhtred.
Glancing back at Finan, I found him still staring, his expression distant. With a gentle wave, I caught his attention, prompting him to reciprocate and breaking him out of his trance.
"Aye, you have a caring wife," Finan remarked, his words catching me off guard. Confusion flickered across my face until I realized he was addressing Uhtred. Connecting the dots, I shot a puzzled look at Uhtred, instinctively putting some distance between us.
"I am not married to that man," I asserted, pointing squarely at Uhtred, who seemed visibly offended by my reaction.
Finan's expression shifted to one of understanding as he nodded. "I'm just a loyal friend," I clarified, a smile on my face. Uhtred, however, couldn't resist a mischievous grin as he added, "She stays with me because she hopes I'll hump her someday," earning himself a playful smack on the chest from me.
Attempting to set the record straight, I interjected, "It's quite the opposite, actually. Need I remind everyone of the morning of your capture?" I warned, a playful threat evident in my tone. Uhtred laughed heartily, seemingly enjoying Finan's amusement at the banter.
As the night continued, stories flowed around the crackling fire. Most of those gathered were familiar with my background, except for Steapa. If he were to uncover my past, the King might deem me a witch, potentially leading to my banishment from the lands. A secret I guarded with utmost caution.

💖 Kairi-centric 💖 Post KH3/Melody of Memory 💖 Slow burn - Kairi getting more confident 💖 multi-chapter
Chapter 2: The Enchanted Forest
Kairi was surrounded by so much color.
Yellows, oranges, reds, dark greens… The forest she’d landed in was at the peak of its vibrancy. Kairi’s neck ached from looking up through the tree’s canopies. She admired the way the light danced around her. Each of her light steps met with a crunch from the fallen leaves.
As an islander, Kairi grew up around bright colors. Whites, blues, greens paired with the sun’s ever-gift of heat. This forest though, was cool in many ways. A breeze tugged at the bottom of her coat. She was grateful for the new outfit; it’d keep her warm.
She didn’t have much direction, much guidance, and knowledge of where she was going. She only kept moving forward taking in the views. A large, busy river appeared by her side. Rocks kept the river in its space. She decided it was best to follow along the water, she appreciated the song of its soft sounds and it was the most likely way to meet another person.
She was comfortable with water. It had become such a part of her identity. Growing up by it, playing in it, traversing over it. Water had been a loyal companion. She let her mind wander back to memories of old, memories of a simpler time.
It led her to a clearing. A man with sand-colored hair slouched while sitting on a rock. He looked deep in thought, saddened even. He had a reindeer by his side.
Animals were empathic beings, that Kairi was used to. She couldn’t look away from the set of friends. This reindeer had a look of worry for his human companion. The reindeer had a multi-color harness attached to his body and large antlers.
“She really left us, huh bud?” The man said to his reindeer.
“ Maybe you don’t have the full story, and she’ll explain everything! There’s gotta be a reason you got left behind!” The man said in a funny voice, loosening his jaw as he spoke. That hit close to home.
Was he…. Is he talking to his reindeer? And talking for it too?
“Yeah, sure, you’re probably right, Sven. There’s probably an explanation… Like that she doesn’t want to be with me anymore!” He yelled out, shoving his face in his hands.
“ You are hopeless. She loves you.” The funny voice returned, sobs dotting his words.
Kairi couldn’t stop the giggle that escaped due to the face Sven shot at the man.
Immediately, the man sat up straight and shot her an embarrassed look. She’d be caught. His eyes were brown and as bright as his surroundings. “How much did you hear?” He questioned immediately. His cheeks were colored with embarrassment.
“You got left behind?” She answered.
He groaned and laid back on his rock, looking at the sky. “Yeah. I guess it comes with the my-girlfriend-is-a-princess package. They go on without you.”
“Your girlfriend is a princess?”
“I hope that she still is My girlfriend, anyway.” He groaned loudly. The man sat up, taking her in for the first time. “Wait. You’re not from the village. How’d you get in the enchanted forest?”
“I was just drawn here. It’s a beautiful forest.” She offered, hoping it would suffice.
The man nodded and took in the sights. “It is when it’s not trying to kill us-”
“Kill you?” Kairi questioned.
“-I’m Kristoff. This is Sven,” he leaned over to introduce the reindeer “and yes. My girlfriend is Princess Anna of Arendelle. She’s… gone. Left with her sister, I guess.”
“I’m Kairi.” She smiled. “Why don’t we find her together? Like you said, I’m sure there’s an explanation.”
“Uh, Sven said that.” He corrected.
“Oh. Right.” She sheepishly agreed.
“I think I may have guessed where they went. Follow me.”
——
They walked together, step in step. Sven stayed behind them, led by the harness Kristoff was holding. Since they’d began their travels, Kairi had noticed more about him. He was tall - very tall. Dressed in a smart, warm, black outfit. He was built as if he’d lifted heavy items all his life.
“What brings you here?” Kristoff started, filling the silence.
“My friends. I… can’t reach them right now. I’m looking for ways to get them back here. Back to our home.”
Kristoff nodded. “You were left behind too, huh?”
“You have no idea.” he wrapped her arms around herself.
He sighed. “You’d be surprised. One the one hand, you’re glad they’re figuring themselves out. Growing as a person. They’re getting things done. Things that are probably really important!”
Kairi added, “-but on the other hand, you feel useless. Right? You want to be a part of their lives! And you’re just missing out on all these important pieces.”
Kristoff laughed, gesturing in excitement. “Yes! Exactly! Just left wondering if we should follow them.”
“And of course, it always has to be fine… We can catch up with them afterwards.”
Kristoff whistled. “You’re taking the words right out of my mouth. It makes you feel as if we’re growing apart from them.”
She’d never been able to express her frustration aloud before. She had people and friends, she had hearts connected to hers, but she doubted any of them would truly get where she was coming from. It felt good to air it out with Kristoff and Sven. They were easy to open up to.
“So are you from Arendelle?” Kristoff asked, switching topics.
Kairi shook her head, eyes scanning the forest around them. “Actually, I’m from a place a lot sunnier. Sunshine, ocean, and the beach is where I grew up. I kind of miss it..”
“Well, be glad you weren’t here three summers ago then. Anna’s sister, Elsa, froze over the entire land.”
“What? In summer? How did she do that?”
“You really are new around here…” Kristoff lead through the trails, pulling Sven along, as he explained the story of the queen who had ice powers and how her sister Anna saved the town what felt like a lifetime ago. He caught her up to present day quickly. Kristoff seemed to be a man who got to the point. The elements had apparently gone berserk after Elsa had spoken to them one night. They’d left Arendelle citizens unsure and scared, forcing them to evacuate to safer ground as they wreaked havoc on the kingdom. Air, water, earth and and fire had communicated with the kingdom and Elsa that something was amiss. Kristoff, Anna, Elsa and one of Elsa’s creations had come into the forest where the wild elements followed them. Occasionally, Sven chimed in to Kristoff’s retelling. This made Kairi giggle even more. Sora would love this. He’d get along so well with Kristoff.
“Is that what you meant by the forest trying to kill you?”
Kristoff nodded. “Oh, yeah. We were greeted with a magical tornado as soon as we walked past the stones. That’s what we’re trying to fix - so Arendelle can go back to business as usual and the people can go back.”
Kairi swept her gaze around and nothing really seemed amiss. She’d have to really stay on her toes throughout this journey if everything Kristoff was saying was the truth.
“Ah, well, enough about me. What about your friends?” Kristoff followed along the river.
“Their names are Sora and Riku. Sora… He saved us all from a terrible fate.” She paused, remembering the numerous times he’d sacrificed himself for her. She felt vulnerable sharing her story. Kristoff watched her, sympathy on his face.
“We lost him because of that. Because of me. Riku’s out looking for him now. I couldn’t stay behind any longer. I want to help bring Sora and Riku back home.”
“Hold on, Sora? Spiky hair, big shoes, fought things away with a key?”
Kairi had to stop walking and looked at Kristoff expectantly.. “You know Sora? He was here?” Her heart thumped against her chest. Could answers really come this easily?
Kristoff nodded, stopping also “He helped us. He helped end the winter those summers ago. We really owe him a debt. I’m so sorry that he’s disappeared. Losing someone like that… It’s always hard. You two will have to come back together when he’s safe and sound. I wish I knew how to help you and Sora out.”
A sad smile stretched across her lips. “Thanks. We’ll be back together.”
“You know, Arendelle has th-” Kristoff’s face soured as he stopped suddenly, looking beyond her.
Kairi swiveled her head to see for herself what Kristoff was looking at. A seemingly from nowhere flash flood was rushing straight towards them. Water came quickly at their group, aiming to meet the river they’d been following at their backs. Kairi’s eyes widened, and her mind began working quickly thanks to all her training. Sven, who’d been walking behind them, took steps backwards in fear; he dragged Kristoff with him. Kairi jumped backwards too, but in the opposite direction. They seemed to clear just in time as a wave pushed in where they’d been standing, crashing into the rocks and river. Mist off the clash nearly blinded Kairi, and the rushing water deafened her. The river bloated, rising up towards her toes. She couldn’t stay here. She ran, her feet graceful, to safety. As soon as she’d found dry land, Kairi looked backwards to see Kristoff and Sven drenched from head to toe - but alright. They must have also moved quickly. Around 100 feet and a slowing current split them. The aftermath had them separated by a brand new, wide river. She could see leaves being quickly pushed by the strong current feeding into the one they’d followed. Kairi waved at the boys and Kristoff waved back. He attempted to speak to her, but words were lost over the rushing water. She shook her head. He pointed his finger to the sky and created a circle. She understood it to mean Circle around - I’ll meet you later. She copied the gesture to show she got the message.
A forest that was dangerous… A very interesting world for her first journey. It was unbelievable that the first person she ran into was also someone that knew Sora. Of course, Sora was someone whose heart touched others so easily. It made sense she’d come across someone he’d helped eventually.
Her ears worked overtime, listening for anymore danger. Having one side of her protected by the steady water did make her feel safer.
Ache set into her legs, and the sun was getting low in the sky. She had made it far from where Kristoff and she had met at the beginning of the day. The forest had been consistent, and the rocks aside from the river had began to grow larger. Thoughts of shelter floated in her mind, of a space to settle for the night.
She was slowing down when a voice reached her ears.
“Elsa pushed me away too - and didn’t even say goodbye.”
Elsa? Kairi searched for the source of the voice, knowing this was someone who was friendly. This person could help her.
“And you have every right to be very, very mad at her.” A second voice validated. A woman’s voice responded. This time, she was able to pinpoint the source.
Her eyes met a boat on the water. The boat, translucent and made of ice, floated with two riders.
A young woman, with a long purple coat and sweet demeanor, must’ve been who was speaking. She was speak to what looked to be …a snowman?

Choose Me, Henry Chapter 27: Reconciles
A/N: Okay, I lied... The next and last chapter will be the epilogue of this story.
Rupert stayed in the medical bay for a couple of days, Henry helped him with his new weapons from his cybernetics parts. It had taken a lot of trial and error but it was worth it. Rupert can use his weapons during missions and Henry's happy about it. However, despite having cybernetics parts now, Rupert has developed something he wished he would never experience in his life.
He had developed nightmares.
Nightmares about getting his arm and leg cut off.
It all started one night when Henry and Rupert were asleep in Henry's tent.
Henry was on his side, asleep while Rupert was on his back trying to sleep. His face was scrunched up and his body was sweating, he was breathing heavily as his mind played him the events Sven has caused. Rupert then open his eyes as he shot up, he started to hyperventilate, and he was now sobbing.
Henry stirred as he heard Rupert shift then he heard a sound of sobbing, he immediately open his eyes and sat up. He glanced over to Rupert who was having a panic attack, Henry quietly put a hand around his shoulder, and he hugged him. "Shhh, it's okay Thorn," Henry said softly and gently, "Breath in and out, breath in and out."
Rupert did what Henry told him and after a few minutes, Rupert was breathing normally again.
Rupert sighed heavily as he looked over to Henry, Henry smiled at him. "Are you okay?" he asked gently.
Rupert was still sobbing, he ceased his sobbing as he nodded. Henry didn't look convinced, "Was you dreaming about you know what?"
Rupert nodded as he wiped his tears away, Henry hugged him tight. "Hey, it's alright," Henry kept hugging him, "I'm here."
Rupert hugged Henry tight as he kept trembling, Henry whispered comforting words to him, and finally, he calm down. "Feel better?" Henry asked as he gently rub Rupert's cheek with his non-cybernetic hand, Rupert nodded slowly. Henry smiled as he lay back down while Rupert did the same, Rupert lay on his back as Henry cuddle up next to him. "Goodnight, thorn," Henry said tiredly.
"Goodnight, Hen," Rupert responded tiredly.
Rupert closed his eyes as Henry started to snore, then Rupert fell asleep.
He didn't have any more nightmares that night.
The next day, Rupert and Henry were at the clearing, enjoying each other's company. Rupert was staring at his cybernetic hand like it was the most interesting thing in the world which it is, it will take Rupert a while to get used to his new parts but he's glad he's not dead.
Henry put his head on Rupert's shoulder as they heard some bushes rustling, they look over to the bushes to see Harry coming out with a chitter. "Hi, Harry," Henry said happily as he waved.
"Hello, Harry," Rupert added as he smiled.
Harry chittered at them saying hello, he then went back to the bushes still chittering. Rupert and Henry were confused for a second until they both gasped in shock when Harry came out again but this time with a smaller hedgehog with three baby hoglets.
Rupert and Henry chuckled as the hedgehog family came over to them, Rupert picked up Harry as Henry stick out his finger for the female hedgehog and her babies to sniff it, "Harry, you sure have been busy, have you?" Rupert said slyly as Henry picked up the female hedgehog.
Harry chitter happily as his babies were sniffing Rupert and Henry. Rupert put Harry down as Henry picked up the female hedgehog, Rupert carefully picked up the babies and gently held them with his hands. "Harry, you have such a cute family," Henry said as he petted the female hedgehog.
"They are so cute," Rupert cooed softly at the babies.
Harry chitter at them saying thank you as he looked proud as a dad would at showing off his family, Rupert and Henry looked at each other for a moment. "They need names," Rupert said in a whisper.
"They do," Henry responded thoughtfully, he was thinking of names using a thinking expression. Rupert watched as Henry kept thinking, Rupert smiled as he put the babies down with Harry. Rupert kept staring at Henry with a love-struck daze, Henry snap his fingers and glanced at Rupert. He saw the love-struck look Rupert was giving him, "Who are you and what have you done with the real Rupert Price?" he asked in a teasing tone.
Rupert blinked as he shook his head, "I'm still the same Rupert Price," he responded slyly, "I was just staring at you because you look so cute when thinking."
Henry's face became warm and red, "Thorn!"
Rupert chuckled as Henry put down the female hedgehog, Rupert pulled Henry close to him and hugged him. "Did you think of any names for them?" Rupert asked.
"I thought of Diamond for the female," Henry replied with a smile.
"Of course, you would choose a name like that for the female hedgehog."
"Hey, you know me," Henry responded smoothly as he touch the necklace Rupert gave him, "I do love my jewels."
Rupert shook his head as he stared down at the hedgehog family, "So what do you feel about Diamond?"
The female chitter happily and so did Harry, "Diamond it is," Rupert said.
"What about the other three?" Henry asked curiously.
"We need to determine their genders," Rupert responded.
Diamond and Harry let the cyborgs check their babies, Rupert checks the two hoglets while Henry did the same thing to the last one.
"I got two girls over here," Rupert told Henry as he put down the hoglets.
"This one is a boy," Henry said, he put down the hedgehog and they stared at the hedgehogs.
They stayed silent as they were thinking of names.
"Waddles," Henry said, breaking the silence.
Rupert blinked at Henry who was smiling, "What?" he asked in confusion.
"Waddles," Henry said again, "We should name the boy Waddles."
Rupert thought over the name for a moment, "It's cute," he said.
Henry smiled as Harry and Diamond chitter in response, Rupert stared at the girls who looked up at him with their cute little eyes. "Milky and Zuzu," Rupert said.
Henry stared at Rupert in confusion, "Those are odd names for the girls but they are adorable!"
Rupert smiled as he picked up Milky and Zuzu, and Henry picked up Waddles. "Welcome to the world, Waddles, Milky, and Zuzu." Rupert and Henry said together.
"It's awful," Rupert responded in an afterthought.
Henry chuckled as he looked at Rupert, "Thorn!"
"What? I'm right."
"Yeah, but you didn't have to tell them that."
Rupert laughed and put down Milky and Zuzu. Henry put down Waddles and the babies went back to their parents, Harry and Diamond started to head back with their babies into the bushes. They chitter Rupert and Henry goodbye, and the cyborgs waved goodbye to them. Then the cyborgs were alone again.
Henry put his head on Rupert's shoulder again, he was about to close his eyes when he heard two people coming. He open his eyes as Rupert saw Charles and Dave heading toward them, Henry sighed as Rupert growled at Charles. Dave weakly smiled at Rupert and Henry, he knew they weren't mad at him but he still felt nervous around them.
"Hi, Henry," Dave said, "Hi, Rupert."
"Hey, Dave," Henry said happily.
"Hi, Dave," Rupert said politely.
When Rupert and Henry set their gaze on Charles, Charles felt chills through his spine. If looks can kill, Dave would have to bury him in a shallow grave. "Sooooo... Hi, Rupert," Charles said nervously, "Hi, Henry."
Rupert and Henry stared at him for a moment, Rupert crossed his arms and Henry put a hand on his hips. "Hi, Charles," they said in unison, their tone was ice cold.
"Ouch," Charles thought as he cringe.
"So, why are you here?" Rupert asked lowly to Charles, Henry saw Dave looked uncomfortable. Henry went to his side and put a comforting hand on him, "Sorry for this Dave," he signed sheepishly.
"It's okay, Henry," Dave responded in a whisper.
"Why are you here?" Rupert repeated when Charles didn't answer him.
Charles flinched, he wasn't ready to talk to Rupert and Henry yet but he needs to confront them about his behavior sooner or later. "I... need to talk to you and Henry," he murmured.
Rupert blinked in confusion as Henry stared at Charles in confusion, "What?" Rupert said.
"I need to talk to you and Henry," Charles repeated as he rubbed his arm awkwardly, he bowed his head. "About my behavior towards you."
Rupert and Henry looked at each other and then at Charles, what?
"Guys, I know Charles has done some awful stuff to you," Dave said gently, "But hear him out please?"
Rupert and Henry didn't want to but a look from Dave gave them the motivation to hear Charles out, they both nodded and Charles smiled slightly. "Henry," Charles started as he looked at Henry, "I'm so sorry for bullying and trying to ruin your relationship with Rupert..."
Charles cleared his throat as he continued, "I know an apology is not enough to fix what I did to you, but I hope you can forgive me.
After Charles was done talking to Henry, he turn to Rupert who was staring at him with great antipathy. "Yup, he's still mad at me," he thought sadly. "Hey, Rupert," Charles said softly, "I'm sorry for hurting you and causing you."
"And?" Rupert responded with gritted teeth.
Charles blinked for a second, confused about why Rupert said that, then he remembered his fight with Rupert and the things he said to him. "Oh," he said in a whisper, then he cleared his throat again. "Rupert, I'm sorry for starting that fight and for calling you abusive like your father," Charles said "I shouldn't have called you that."
Henry's eyes widen when he heard Charles's apology to Rupert, did Charles tell Rupert he was abusive like his dad? That explains why they were bloody and bruised when he saw them in the General's office that one day. Rupert kept staring at Charles for a moment then he sighed heavily, Charles held out his hand for Rupert to shake it. "Truce?" Charles said tentatively, "I know it's gonna be a while for us to be friends again, but for now, we could start over."
Rupert thought for a moment then he took Charles's hand, "Sure," he said, "We could do that."
They both shook hands as Dave and Henry smiled. "But, if you pull any of the same shit you did to me and Henry again," Rupert threaten Charles as his cybernetic hand transformed into a huge sword, "I will not hesitate to kill you, understand?"
Charles nodded vigorously as he gave Rupert a thumbs up.
"Good," Rupert responded with a smile, enjoying Charles's fear as Henry was laughing and Dave was shaking his head.
At least everyone is friends again.

Baby Girl Chapter 80
AO3
“Thank you for coming. We have never had anything like this happen before.” The Colwyn Bay chief says. He leads them into the office. “All their parents are here.”
“Thank you,” Geillis says. “myself and Murtagh will start interviewing them. Jamie, John, and Mary, head out to the abduction site.”
“Was your door locked?” Her hands tear at the tissue she holds. She shakes her head before she looks up at Geillis.
“It is wrong, eh? I know now. But we have never had… the last big crime here was Sven Gunther’s fishing boat vandalized. How was I… besides Carys walked out on her own! She never… I don’t understand. She was afraid of the dark.”
Even in the light of day, the park feels eerie. It is what happened here, that makes it so.
“From the video, we know that the children came here.” John walks over to the swing set. “the question is, where did they go from here?”
Jamie looks around. “Here,” He walks a few meters to the left of the swings. “there is no CCU camera here.”
John and Mary join him. It is an area of hard packed dirt. Foot prints are repelled.
“I have something .” Mary says. A bramble bush has a drop of blood. “They walk through here, someone gets cut,” They carefully make their own way through, “to here.”
“Bloody good job.” John says as they find themselves on a hidden road. “Maintenance road. He could have easily been waiting her for them.”
“Limited access.” Jamie muses. He pulls out his phone to update Claire and the others.
“Ceri, she is terrified of the dark. There has been a nightlight in her room since she started sleeping alone. We can’t see her willing walking out in it.” Her father says as his wife sobs beside him.
“Okay, so Mary’s find was excellent. There was a white van parked there. The children exited onto the road and climbed in. They, as you see, are still acting queer.” Claire updates them.
“Sleep walking.” John adds, “They are sleep walking.”
“That would explain it. All the children are terrified of the dark. None would have willingly walked out on their own.” Murtagh says.
“Any info on the driver or on the van?” Jamie asks.
“Not yet but if there is any to be gotten, I will find it.” Her fingers move over the keyboards even as she talks.
“We know you will. Thank you Claire.” Geillis says.
“Parents need warned. No more unlocked doors.” Murtagh comments.
Geillis nods. “Lets deliver the profile.”

Little wolf - Jerome Valeska FanFiction
<- Previous Chapter <-
Warnings: adult language
word count: 1476 words
Phoenix's P.O.V
"Good evening, Mr Cicero sorry to bring you down here so late" Jim said greeting the blind man. "Good evening, Detective Gordon, Doctor Thompkins." He spoke. Dr Thompkins looked confused as to how the man knew she was in the room. "How did you...." she started until Jim interrupted "He smells your perfume." He answered her question. "We solved the message Lila sent you." Jim said walking around the table and the leaning on Mr Cicero's side of the table. "Oh?" Mr Cicero said. "Took us to Arkham Bridge park. We found a hatchet there with satanist symbols scratched into it." Jim said.
"Dear lord" Mr Cicero said taking his sunglasses off. "You know what that hatchet means Mr Cicero?" Jim asked. "Tell me" Mr Cicero said. "It means you're an accessory to murder." Jim said sternly. "Such drama, I merely passed along a message." Mr Cicero countered. "A message from the dead. Didn't happen which means you invented the message.... which means you had someone plant the hatchet for us to find. you wanted us to think satanist were responsible for Lila's death. You're protecting somebody." Jim said
"Lila spoke to me. That's all." Mr Cicero said. Jim nodded to the police officer at the door. The police officer went out of the room. "you know, a hatchet is a clumsy ploy. You wouldn't try it unless you were desperate. Which suggests your protecting someone close. Someone you love." Jim said. "This fantasia was conjured by your blinkered mind. If you could only see what I see...." My Cicero says when the door opens revealing Jerome.
Jim looks up "Hi Jerome. Please. Take a seat. You know Mr Cicero, from the show." Jim says while moving Jerome's seat. "Yes sir. Hello Mr Cicero." Jerome said. "Good evening, Jerome." Mr Cicero said. Jerome looked away from Mr Cicero and to Jim. "do you know why you're here?" Jim asked Jerome. "Did you find out who killed my mother?" Jerome said leaning forward a bit. "You killed your mother, Jerome." Jim said straightforwardly. "Me?" Jerome said with a look that looked like surprise, worry and betrayal. "You killed her up on that hill and Mr Cicero let you clean up in his trailer. He told you to scratch the satanist stuff on the hatchet and throw it off the bridge." Jim said. Jerome looked back and forth between Jim and Mr Cicero. "Sir that's ....... absurd and... and offensive" Jerome said a bit offended. My heart went out to him, If only I could be in the room with him.
"But it's the truth. What I don't Know is why this man risked so much to help you. I think he's your father." Jim said. Jerome huffed and smiled a little thinking this was a joke as he looked at Mr Cicero then back at Jim. "You don't know what you're talking about. My father was a sea captain." Jerome said. "Am I wrong, Mr Cicero?" Jim said. "Yes." Mr Cicero said Straight away without missing a beat. "He was a sea captain. His name was Sven Karlsen. He died at sea" Jerome said. "What was the name of his ship?" Jim asked looking at Jerome. "He worked on a lot of different ships." Jerome said. "The one he went down in?" Jim said. "She never said." Jerome said.
"We can do a blood test prove I'm right. It takes half an hour to get a full proof result. Isn't that right Dr. Thompkins?" He asked. "Yes" The doctor said. "save yourself a needle" Jim said to Jerome. "I do hate needles. I'm sorry Jerome." Mr Cicero said. "What are you talking about?" Jerome asked Mr Cicero. "He's right, I am Your father." Mr Cicero said. "No, you're not, why would you say that?" Jerome said with a slightly sobbing voice. "You must have suspected the truth." Mr Cicero said.
"You're not my father. My mother would never...." Jerome went on to say But Mr Cicero interrupted. "Your mother was cruel woman, she was often unkind to me, but she did love me, in her way." And she loved you very much. That's why she gave you a better father." Mr Cicero said raising his voice.
Jerome started crying as he titled his head down but some how it quickly turned into a very twisted laugh. He the snapped his head back up at Mr Cicero. "My mother was a cold-hearted whore, who never loved anyone. And she'd never touch an old pathetic, creep like you." Jerome's was going lower by the second. He was glaring at Mr Cicero Like he was prey and Jerome was the predator. "All these years, you think I was kind to because I'm such a good man. If I wasn't your father, would I help you as I have, after what you did?" Mr Cicero said. Jerome looked back and forth between Jim and Mr Cicero.
"My father, Hm. I'll be damned. Oh that's very funny." He laughed maniacally. "Ba-doom-shh! Looks like the bitch got me with a zinger in the end." Jerome said still glaring and smiling at the same time but at Jim instead. "Why'd you kill your mother, Jerome?" Jim asked. "Oh, you know how mothers are. She just kept pushing. and I'm like 'fine, mom. Be a whore. Be a drunken whore even. But don't be a nagging drunken whore.' You know 'don't come yell at me to do the dishes. When you've been banging a clown in the next room!'" Jerome slammed his hand down on the metal table. "You know." Jerome said laughing Hysterically.
By this point I was crying. Tears streaming down my face. Jerome did it, he actually killed someone. I realised they're going to lock him up. They'll send him away. No, He's the only friend I have. The doctor walked out of the interrogation room and A policeman took Mr Cicero to another room to discuss what happens next. Jim was sitting with Jerome still in the interrogation room smiling maniacally. I didn't notice that Harvey had moved out of the room until he came back in. "Phoenix Your parents are here." My heart was beating rapidly. This is the last time I'm gonna see him. My parents are going to beat the crap out me.
They won't let me go anywhere they'll lock me up for sure. they won't let me visit Jerome, I know it. I looked through the glass to see Jim is about to handcuff Jerome. Jerome is making it harder by turning or moving around every now and then. Harvey went out of the room again leaving me alone. I walked out of the room and saw my dad down the hall. He caught sight of me and instantly started glaring, his face going red. Before I thought about it, I sprinted into the interrogation room. I ran straight into Jerome arms shaking.
"Don't leave me Jerome. Don't leave me" I sobbed and choked on the words. As I wound my arms around his waist. I moved my head, so my forehead was against his. I was looking into his eyes. His smile was gone and He looked confused as to why I was crying like this. "they're gonna take me away, Jerome. I'm never gonna see you again. They're going to kill me" I said sobbing. My hands were shaking so much. Our foreheads were still against each other's. "what?" Jerome said confused. "I've always loved you, Jerome." I said his eyes widened at this. Before he could reply I kissed him. I then let go while still crying. By this point Jerome was handcuffed. "Phoenix what do you mean?" he said looking into my eyes as I backed away slowly while still sobbing.
I looked away and walked out the door. Jim began to walk Jerome out the door as well. "PHOENIX!" Jerome yelled as Jim tried to restrain him. Jerome had tears in his eyes. He looked past me and looked at my family that were waiting and my Father that was already in the hall. They were glaring at me, I looked back at Jerome as two other Police officers tried to restrain him. The only thing I felt then was fear. Pure fear and nothing else. Jerome soon realised what I meant by 'they're gonna take me away' He sent a psychotic like glare. I continued looking at Jerome until I felt someone roughly grip my arm. My father. He started dragging me harshly while trying to keep a calm face on. "PHOENIX!" Jerome shouted again as the police were holding him back.

That night had been difficult. She was barely able to sleep at all. It was one thing after the next: Throwing up, her injuries deciding to flare up, and even when she was able to fall asleep, it didn’t last long before violent nightmares decided to come and taunt her, causing her to wake up crying. Gods, even crying hurt, it would make her head pound even worse than it already had been.
And the cherry on top was the guilt that was eating away at her every time Gothi came to help. It didn’t matter how late [or early] it was, she would come to her aid; either changing the wrappings on her wounds, making teas to help soothe her nausea, or just holding her hair back as she continuously threw up. It also didn’t help how irritable she was- she would snap at Gothi, who was just trying to help, before breaking down sobbing. She wasn’t mad at Gothi, she was mad at herself, she was being so weak. She would break down crying over a stomach ache. and she didn’t know why. She had been through so, so much worse, so why was she so emotional all the sudden? She hated it. She just wanted to go back to being normal.
——————————-
The next day when Hiccup came to visit her, she was passed out on the bed due to pure exhaustion from the night before. Her right arm was somewhat secured in a makeshift splint that Gothi had put together the night before, and her eyes were red and puffy from the sheer amount of crying. Overall, her appearance just looked more disheveled than anything.
Before Hiccup could even question anything, Gothi came out from a nearby room that held a basin with water, a clean wooden bucket in hand. When she saw Hiccup, she looked up at him and frowned before setting the bucket by the side of Danny’s bed. Gothi looked tired as well, and she was, because of Danny she wasn’t able to sleep much either.
After setting the bucket down, she grabbed her staff that was leaning against the wall and started writing in the ground, ‘She had a rough night. She was vomiting constantly, which was to be expected, and her arm was bothering her the entire night as well. I was able to make a splint and it seemed to help. She also seems to have frequent night terrors, although from what you’ve told me. I’m not surprised’ she explained before looking up at him, her lips pursed together.
(Sorry for such a long reply!)
He had a chance to visit late in the morning, after helping Sven shear his sheep. Toothless was outside, soaking up the nice sunshine, so Hiccup was alone when he entered Gothi's hut. He had a basket with him, Fishlegs had put together some flowers for both Gothi and Danny.
He stopped short, taking in the splint and seeing her puffy eyes. A look of confusion was painted across his face when he saw Gothi.
He read her writings, feeling guilty that neither of them seemed to have gotten any rest. Setting the basket down, he spoke softly so he wouldn't wake up Danny.
"Gothi, is there anything I can do to help? Allow you to get some rest?"

Sweetheart
summary: Just a normal day in the life of Kai Parker and his daughter
words: 2.2K
warnings: None just pure fluff
___________________________________________
Just a few second ago Kai was sleeping deeply, dreaming of beautiful things as his sleep got interrupted by a sweet little voice calling out for him.
“Daddy?”
The little girl who called for him now moving towards his bed stopping right before it.
“Daddy? Are you awake?”
She asked with a squeaky voice.
Kai murmured something under his breath before he slowly opened his eyes, only to see his three year old daughter with her favorite stuffed animal clutched to her chest and red puffy eyes staying in front of his bed
Did she cried ?
“ Sweetheart? What’s wrong?”
“I-i had a nightmare” she said sobbing.
“ Oh sweety. Do you wanna cuddle ?”
The sweet little girl nodded her head firmly and got in her fathers bed as quick as she could.
She got under the covers and cuddled up to her dad.
Her duck Emy in her arms and her head laying on her fathers chest she started to tell him what she dreamed about.
“ I was in the kindergarten and then this scary man came up to me and wanted to have Emy. I didn’t want to give her to him so he pulled her out of my grip and-and throw her on the ground and stomped on her!”
“ what ? Why would he do that?”her father asked stroking his daughters hair softly, trying to calm her down.
“Because he was a evil looking man daddy !” She said with a seriousness only a three year old could have.
“ oh of course princess how couldn’t I think of that ?”
“ I don’t know daddy.”,She said.
Kai heard her yawn and then her sweet voice asked him when his girlfriend y/n would come over again, because she liked to play princess tea party with her.
“ I don’t know sweetheart, but I’m going to ask her tomorrow okay ?”
“Okay daddy” ,Kai’s daughter said,”good night daddy I love you”
“I love you too”
With that both of them drifted of to sleep.
Loving to be in her fathers arms the little girl hadn’t had any nightmares again and slept with a smile on her sweet face.
Kai woke up with the best feeling this morning.
With his daughter in his arms.
He loved it.
He loved her.
And cuddling with her was the best thing ever.
“Daddy? Why are you starring at me? Do I have something on my face ?”
“ oh you’re awake”
“Mmh. Can we make pancakes?” She asked, the previous question long forgotten.
Kai agreed with that suggestion and got dressed.
At the same time his daughter was standing in front of her wardrobe deciding which frozen T-Shirt she wanted to wear to her black pants with rosen pattern.
“Dadddddyyyy!”
Kai came running into her room, scanning the room to find out why his little girl was so upset.
“What?- what’s wrong sweety?”
She look at him with desperate eyes and asked quietly,” which one ?”
She showed him three T-shirts, one that had Elsa printed on, another one with Sven and Christoph and a third one with Olaf.
“ mmh... that’s a hard choice. I thing the best would be the one with Olaf.”
“Okay Olaf it is then” his daughter said and slipped the t-shirt on.
Kai and his daughter were currently making and eating pancakes when the doorbell rang.
Kai asked the girl to open the door because he needed to check on the pancakes in the pan.
“Of course, daddy” she smiled up to her father and jumped down from her seat.
Kai heard the sound of her footsteps disappear and then the door opening.
The little girl let out a loud shriek and her father immediately shoot up from his place and ran up to protect his angel from whatever scared her.
“Wha-“
“Daddy look! Y/n’s here!” She squeaked her face lighten up in a big smile and her eyes shining with joy.
Kai let out a a sigh of relief when he realized that she wasn’t hurt or anything, just happy to see her best friend. He pulled his girlfriend in the house to greet her.
“Hi”
“Hello you”, Y/n said,” does someone else smells that?” She asked confused.
“Shit!” He forgot the pancakes!
“Daddy!”, his daughter shouted indignant,” that was a bad word! You said a bad,bad word!”
“Yes sweety he did and that is not okay, but I think we can agree that he had a reason don’t you think? He wouldn’t do something without having a reason would he?” The young women asked.
The little girl shook her head vigorously and said”you are forgiven if you play princess tea party with me and y/n today.” Her eyes were filled with hope and she looked so sweet that he couldn’t help himself but to lift her up in his arms and press her to his chest. The little girl squeaked and tried to free herself by squirming and kicking but nothing worked. Kai then pulled away from the embrace, so that his daughter was a arm lang away from him but he still hold her, just to start spinning with her in his grip.
The little girls screams were filled with joy and y/n watched them with adoration in her eyes.
She truly loved them. Both of them.
Most of the people thought Kai was a monster but she never saw that, she always saw the good in him and she will ever do. She loves him with her whole heart and his daughter? No difference .
She loves her so much it hurts. She may not be her real mother, but for Y/n Rose is like her daughter. She sees her everyday.
This little sweet girl and her dad are the two people in this world who keep her sane, who make her believe in love and soulmates.
They are her family and heart.
And she wouldn’t be able to live without them.
A sweet voice that Y/n recognized was Rosy pulled her out of her deep thoughts by asking,” Y/n? Your okay?”
“ oh of course sweetheart, I was just thinking about something”
“ about what were you thinking ?”, she asked curious.
“ Oh, I just thought about how much I love you and you dad.”
“You love me?” The little girl asked ,clearly on the edge of crying.
“Yes of course I love you. What did you thought, lovey?”
“ I don’t know. Maybe that you are my best friend?”
“ I’m your best friend ? Oh that’s so sweet honey. As your best friend,do you think we should eat the pancakes and when we are finished with that we could go and play princess tea party? .”
“Yeeesss!!” She shouted excited.
The little family had the best time while eating pancakes.
Y/n and Rose laughed and giggled the whole time while Kai made funny faces to hear their laughs, his favorite sound.
Y/n helped the little girl get dressed into a sweet blue dress because if their going to have a princess tea party then she needs to look like one too . At the same time Kai set up the living room table with candles, cookies, mugs and a teapot.
Pillows laid in front ,on the ground ,so that they had it comfortable.
“Daddy? Where is your crown ?”
He looked at her with confusion written over her face and asked” what do you mean sweetheart?”
“ I mean that you are not wearing a crown and it’s not acceptable! We are going to play princess tea party so we need to be princesses!”
“Yes Kai what did you thought?” Y/n asked trying to hide her smile at how adorable offended the little girl was.
“ well I- where is your crown y/n ?”
Rosaly looked at y/n and needed to find out that she also was not wearing a crown.
The little girl gasped in shock before she asked “ What, why- I… are you betraying me? in a teary voice.
“ what ? No! I’m, I just” the young women stuttered,” I guess I forgot to put it on ?”
“ Yeah me too love bug” the girls father explained.
“ oh okay well then you two should get your crown while I ahem put tea in our mugs.”
“ it’s called pour.” The adults said in sync.
“ what ?” The little girl asked confused.
Rose looked at them with confusion in her eyes, then shrugged and turned around to prepare the tea.
Kai and Y/n chuckled silently before they made their way into Rose room to find two other crowns they could wear.
In the room they couldn’t contain their giggle and while they were laughing the looked each other deep in the eyes.
Their body’s were drawn towards each other everything around them disappearing while they were looking at each other.
You could practically feel the love in the air.
The kiss sweet and lovingly, tasting like a day in spring.
“ you coming ?” Rosy screamed.
The two lovers pulled away from each other’s addicting lips, forehead pressed against the others.
“Daddy? Y/n/n? “
“ yes sweetie we’re coming”
The adults grabbed two crowns and put them on .
Y/n wearing Elsas crown and Kai wearing a dark violet one.
“ we look amazing” y/n giggled.
Kia who walked behind her laughed and slapped her ass playfully, making her shriek, before wrapping his arm around her shoulder.
“ there you are. I already prepared everything so we can start.”
“ well then princess rose, do you accept my gift and let me sit on your table to join your tea party?”
The young woman asked.
“ yes please take a seat beside me princess y/n.” The little girl said with her adorable sweet voice.
Princess y/n took a seat before Kai spoke up. “ my lady am I allowed to join too ?”
“ of course da- my prince” she giggled, loving this game.
The three of them played princess tea party for over two hours.
Eating cookies and drinking tea, the laughs of Rosy filling the house.
When Rose didn’t want to play anymore y/n cleaned up and Kai helped his daughter out of the dress and into a new outfit.
“ y/n,y/n what are we gonna do know?”
“ mmh, it’s already 3pm. Why don’t we cook something and then maybe watch a film if your dads okay with it?”
She nodded excited before turning to Kai and looking at him with puppy dog eyes. “ can we please watch uh … frozen after we cooked dinner daddy?”
“ well it depends what do you wanna cook ?”
She thought about it before exclaiming ”noodles with tomato sauce!”
You looked at Kai approvingly after you smiled at her sweet behavior.
“ we can do that. “
She jumped up and down happily before following her dads girlfriend into the kitchen to cook noodles.
Soon dinner was ready and the little family sat down at the dinner table to eat.
While eating they had light conversation, y/n telling Kai things about here work and Rose told them things about her friends from kindergarten.
When everyone was finished they went into the living room selecting frozen and covering rosy in a blanket between the two lovers.
Y/n and Rose sang all the songs knowing the text by heart.
Kai watched them with a smile on his face.
Rosys tones completely wrong but still the sweetest thing he has ever heard.
The loved shared between them was a once in a life time.
“ Mummy ? Daddy? M’tired can you bring me to bed?”
Your eyes went wide, the hand stroking rosy’s hair stopped and kai choked on his spit.
“ mummy? “ you asked
“ oh I’m sorry, I didn’t realize y/n/n” she said embarrassed. “ do you not want to be my mummy ?”
“ oh sweetheart, I want nothing more.” You pulled her into a hug, looking at Kai with tears filled eyes.
After Kai brought rose to bed the pair sat silently on the couch, still shocked from what had happened.
“ she called me mummy” you said matter of factly.
“ she did” the young father respond.
Silence filled the house again.
“ you know, she’s right. You are her mum and I couldn’t wish for a better one.”
You sniffled.
“ I love you and her so much and -“
“ Will you marry me?” Kai interrupt you mid sentence.
“ what ?” You asked overwhelmed.
“ Do.You.want.to.merry.me?” He repeated.
“ are you-are you being serious right now?”
“Yes, yes I am. Please become my wife and Rosys mother. I already can’t imagine a life without you and I also don’t want to so let’s get married.”
“ I- uh I’m.
Yes, yes omg.” You smiled.
“ really ?”
“ yes of course. I don’t want to spent another day without you and rosy by my side.”
The now engaged pair looked at each other with bright smiles and leaned in for a kiss.
Sealing the new part of their life together with a passionate kiss.

Chapter 31. This I all I've got for a while. I've gotta write the rest. @gyubby99
Anna looked on and sighed. Jack left, and Kristoff was talking with Ryder. Anna was left alone for a second. Gale showed up, and brought in a snowflake made by Elsa. Anna gasped as she saw it before it blew away, Anna followed it to a clearing next to the beach. In the distance, Anna made out a figure riding a horse. Anna squinted, and there she was. Elsa. Right there. Anna gasped as tears flooded her eyes. She ran down to the shire as Elsa got off of the horse. "Is it really you?" Anna asked, her voice breaking for just a second. Elsa held out her arms. "Anna!" Annabran to her sister, engulfing her into a giant hug as she sobbed. "I thought i lost you!" Anna cried as the girls split apart. "Lost me? You saved me... again," Elsa replied. Anna smiled. "I did?" She asked "And Anna, Arendelle did not fall," Elsa stated. "It didn't?" Anna sobbed. "The spirits all agree. Arendelle deserves to stand. With you," Elsa explained. Anna wiped her nose on her sleeve. "Me?" She asked. "You did what was right. For everyone," Elsa replied. "Did you find the fifth spirit?" Anna asked hopefully, her tears drying. Elsa smiled at her sister. "You are the fifth spirit! You're the bridge!" Anna gasped. "Well actually a bridge has two sides... and mother rhas two daughters... we did this together. And well continue to do thus together," Elsa explained. "Together," Anna replied as the sisters touched their foreheads together, holding one another's hands. "Elsa! you're okay!" Kristoff shouted as he came running up to her, hugging her tightly. "You look different! Did you cut your hair or something?" Kristoff asked. "Or something," elsa chuckled as she scratched svens chin. "Anna, I need to ask you a question," Elsa stated. "Okay," Anna replied. "Do you wanna build a snowman?" Elsa asked. "What?" "Thank goodness water has memory," Elsa replied as she waved her hand 3 times, building Olaf, Anna ran up to him and put on all of his details. "Anna? Elsa? Kristoff and sven!" Olaf exclaimed when he woke up. "You all came back!" He giggled. The group gave him a big hug. "Oh I love happy endings!" The group pulled apart and stood up. "At least I assume we're done," Olaf stated. Elsa giggled. "We're done," she replied. "Actually, there is one more thing," Kristoff stated. He got down on one knee. Elsa smiled. He was finally proposing to Anna! But then her smile fell. She blocked out kristoffs speech as she remembered. Where's jack? Was he okay? Her spiraling thoughts were blocke different by Anna. "YES!" She exclaimed as she ran into kristoffs arms. Elsa smiled as he spun her around. When Anna was set back down Elsa got the courage to ask. "Hey um... I would hate to bring this moment down but um... where's Jack?" Elsa asked as she fiddled with the ring on her finger. Anna's smile fell. "He... he left...." Anna replied. "Just... left? Where did he go? Why did he leave?" Elsa asked. "He left because you were.... we thought you were.... we don't know where he went," Anna stated. Elsa sighed and nodded before smiling painfully. "I'll find him eventually. As for now," Elsa began before hugging her sister once again.

Frozen : Anna x Hans Ballad The Ballad of Sara Berry AU : Anna's PoV when she realizes that Hans's obsession and need to become Prom King has taken over their relationship.
The Ballad of Hans South
Anna Arendelle had a perfect life.
She knew she did. She had a sister who loved her and who she loved right back. Her parents loved her. They lived in a great house in a wonderful neighborhood, set for life thanks to her parents’ business. The cherry on top?
She had the best boyfriend ever.
Hans South.
They had met at her sister’s 21st birthday celebration. Hans was the youngest of thirteen sons and was the best out of all of them. He was handsome, smart, and charming. Like something straight out of Anna’s childhood fairytale books. She couldn’t help but love him and knew he loved her back with everything he had.
The school worshiped them. Anna knew they did. She didn’t really care for popularity but she knew Hans did, so she did her best to keep up. Hans even wanted to be prom king this year, like all his brothers had. So Anna began her campaign for him and had been rewarded with kisses plastered all over her cheeks and a plea to marry him once they graduated.
And then everything had slammed down.
Anna had gotten the news one wintery Saturday. She heard Elsa scream and when she came running, toothbrush in her mouth, her sister was lying on the floor. Her shoulders were shaking as she howled, tears running down her cheeks. Her phone had been dropped on the floor. “What’s wrong?” Anna asked as she scooped it up. “Hello?”
“Ma’am, this is Denmark National Hospital. I’m so sorry but…”
Her parents had been driving back from visiting a friend. It was late and the roads were icy. Another car had been next to them. Nobody was sure who started it, but both cars had skidded into each other. The other driver had survived but his leg had to be amputated. However, her parents…
Hans had been the first person she called. He held her as she sobbed out her grief, handled the calls that came pouring in, and made sure she and Elsa ate.
Elsa locked herself in her room and didn’t come out for the funeral. Hans came.
A few weeks later, there was a knock on the door, a few minutes after Hans left for home. Anna opened it to come face to face with a young blonde man. A large greyhound sat next to him, staring up at her with pleading eyes. “You-” The amputated leg was clear.
“I’m Kristoff.” the man said. “I’m so sorry, but I needed to-” His eyes welled up with tears. “I’m so sorry.”
Anna let him in.
Kristoff apologized for crashing into her parents. She forgave him, understanding. It was winter, after all. It could have been worse. He even introduced his dog Sven to her. Anna, unable to help a smile as she petted the Greyhound, introduced her dog Olaf to him.
After that, Anna thought she would never hear about him again.
She buried herself in school, her cheerleading group, and Hans. Apparently, his father had been pressuring him about becoming prom king. “Of course they’ll vote for you!” Anna said the day that the nominee list came out.
“I know, but sometimes I worry-” Hans paused, eyes flicking over the list. “Kristoff is on here,” he said. His voice was strange. Anna immediately looked at the list.
There was Hans’ name. It was the second one. At the very top, showing the one most nominated, was Kristoff’s name. A gasp made them turn. Kristoff stared at a copy of the list, eyes wide. People around them, people who Anna had never seen talk to Kristoff, clapped him on the back and congratulated him.
After that, Hans threw himself into campaigning.
Anna tried her best to keep up. She made flyers, talked to people, and handed out homemade chocolates she made in the shape of Hans’ face. But it felt like it wasn’t enough.
At least not for Hans.
He pulled away from the debate team and student council. He pulled away from his friends.
He pulled away from her.
One night, there was another knock on the door. When Anna opened it, Kristoff stood there. “Hi,” he said, quietly. He held a bouquet of flowers.
“Hi.”
“I-uh- This is stupid.” Wait, was he… Kristoff took a deep breath. “I like you. My family thinks this is great reason to ask you to Prom even though you have a boyfriend who has already asked you.” He set the bouquet down. “I’m sorry. I’ll-”
“Hans hasn’t asked me to Prom.” Anna thought it was a given but, given his recent behavior, she wasn’t sure. Lately, it felt like their relationship was unsteady. Like a tightrope Anna had to cross everytime she had to talk to Hans. She took a deep breath and smiled, feeling a bit more steady. “I’ll love to go with you.”
Kristoff’s smile was the brightest thing she had seen since her parents died. That brightness nestled in her chest and lingered, even as Hans simply texted a Thank you for telling me in response to her text saying Kristoff was taking her to the prom.
But it wasn't her concern.

Reginald let out a slight bewildered noise as a plant pot filled with wet soil was placed in front of him. Of all the things he thought would be placed on his desk this morning, this wasn't it. "Uh-" Reginald looked up to see who was trying to give him the peculiar item before he smiled warmly. Henry had been apart of the Toppat Clan for about a month or 2. Despite his short arrival he was getting quite close to the leader and his second in command. He also was in training to run a group of his own so he could go on missions with help Reginald had protested at first but Right had told him that Henry was like a ball of energy, energy that needed to be realised somehow. "Henry. Good morning." His polite and caring smile turned to one of confusion. "Forgive me Hen but, I'm a little confused on why you're giving me.. A plant pot?"
Henry smiled brightly before he started to sign. 'Not just a pot Reg. Its got a seed inside it.'
"Ah Ok. But, why? I mean I bet it'll look lovely when it grows, whatever it is but.. '
Henry's almost sad smile stopped Reginald in his tracks. 'It's... Special. Really special. Took me a while to get it. Wanted you to have it. As a thank you gift for letting me join' Oh. Reginald looked down at the dirt filled pot, wondering just what plant was going to grow out of it.
"Thank you Henry." Reginald smiled.
'You're welcome'
-
Reginald yawned as he continued to type away at his laptop. Shivering occasionally due to how cold it was in his office. Curse the snow outside...
The sound of the card scanner outside being alerted made him lift his head. The door pushed opened and Incame right. Right made a reaction to the temperature and looked at Reginald.
"Jesus christ Reg. Turn the heatin' on in 'ere. It's freezing."
"I know i know." Reginald haphazardly waved his hand in the others general direction before he quickly went back to typing. Winter was always a busy month for the leader. There were less mission and alot more paperwork than he'd like. Reginald could see out of the corners of his vision that right was moving around his office. Examining things.
"What's this 'ere?" Rights voice cut in through the click clack of the keyboard and Reginald paused and looked up to see what right was inquiring about.
"Oh. It's a plant Hen gifted me a couple of months ago." Reginald chose to ignore the smug look right gave him. His cheeks burning slightly.
"A plant? thought you weren't into that stuff." Right chuckled as he inspected the growing stem that was now pencil tall and thick.
"I'm not but... Henry said it was special gift so." Right smiled at that.
"Well I'm gonna get this plant some water then." Reginald hummed in response. He didn't turn to look away from the pot, even after his office door clicked open and shut. Special gift huh? Just how special Reginald wondered.
-
A slam echoed into the office room as Reginald had slammed his hands onto his desk.
"WHAT DO YOU MEAN HE'S NOT ANSWERING!? SVEN! I DEMAND YOU TRY AGAIN!"
"S-Sir please.. Me and burt already tried 5 times-" Sven was interrupted by Reginald moving towards him and grabbing him by his collar and pushing him against a wall. The man's eyes burning with hatred and despair.
Henry had left for a mission with his group a couple hours ago. Everyone had returned with terrible injuries, some even close to death. When asked what happened a toppat explained that during the mission to retrieve the valuable they were wanting, the government had suddenly ambushed them. Everyone managed to escape as safely as possible because Henry had covered for them. Nobody had heard from Henry since his group retreated. Not a single word...
"reg! Stop it!" Right practically begged the other. Pulling him away from Sven, causing the other to let go.
"Please!!! Do it again! Call him again!" Reginald shouted, the tears that had been pricking in the corner of his eyes fell and he let out a sob.
"Reg, reg... Shhh its ok..." Right soothed, pulling the other into a hug. Reginald sobbed into right hand man's shoulder. Not caring how weak he seemed. Right too seemed to be tearing up as he seemed to accept the conclusion that was being brought to them much faster then Reginald was.
On the window sill in the office laid the Pot. The plants brown branches standing tall now, the size of 2 pencils. The small green buds at the end of every branch just now starting to grow. It would've been a happy sight if not for the circumstances now...
-
Funerals. Something Reginald found bitter and depressing. So when the toppat rescue group came back, Halling a very much.. Dead Henry. Reginald thought back to that bitterness and depressing idea that was funerals.
Reginald and right had just gotten back from said funeral. Reginald sitting against his office wall, under the window. He had been numbly staring at the floor for the longest time. He barely heard the card scanner beep to let him know someone was coming in. The door slid open and right entered the room. He had taken off his black blazer that came with the suit he had been wearing. His collar had been slightly unbuttoned and his tie pulled slightly down. A sigh left the man and he walked over.
"Reg..." Reginald didnt move. Didn't want to.
"We found the government base you were wantin'..."
"You know what to do then... Why are you in here when you can be telling the groups to get ready? To prepare for a fight.." Reginald glared. Voice cold.
Right stared. It was a sad stare that Reginald barely saw on the man. He looked away, hating how his body trembled at the sympathetic look Right was giving him.
"Henry wouldn't want you like this..."
"You don't know that-"
"Reg. We were close to him. Hell I even think... We loved him... So yeah, I do know... "
Silence.
"I'm guessing you don't want to come with?"
"... No.." Reginald whispered out and right nodded. He stayed in place for a moment. Before turning around and leaving.
Loved him? Possiblely...
Reginald and right were the only toppats who really trusted him. Minus his group that he ran of course. Which led the 2 to really see the true Henry. One that wasn't labelled a thief. Henry was confident but still awkward. Calculating but still quick. Caring but still shy...
God Reginald really did love that man... And Reginald knew Right felt the same.
Reginald gritted his teeth. His numb glare at the floor now turning into one of fury. He'd get revenge for the man he couldn't confess to. To the man he couldn't hold close to him and tell him he loved him.
He didn't care if he had to die doing so! Hell he'd accept death in a heart beat if it meant that those government scums were dealt with! He'd show just how dangerous the Toppat Clan truly was to the stupid fucking Galeforces face! -
?
Had something fallen? Drifting past Reginalds face and onto the ground? Reginald looked down to the floor next to him to see a small pink petal. Where on...
Reginald got up and turned to stare at the pot that had been politely sitting on his office window sill for months now.
A small cherry blossom plant. It's pink petals clustered beautifully together. Some more vibant then others. Reginald felt tears fill his eyes and he didn't bother wiping them away when they fell down his cheeks.
Henry.... Its beautiful...
Reginald let out sob as he stared at the buestiful, small Cherry blossom tree. Some of its petals occasionally falling and landing on the dirt or window sill below.
"It... Truly is.. A special plant love.." Reginald smiled.
Reginald saw the Government base razed and as many Government soldiers crushed as possible. And for the next couple of weeks, Reginald continued his onslaught of Government bases until Reginald himself was able to bring an end to General Galeforce himself.
And for the cherry blossom tree, Reginald took care of it, eventually planting it in what would soon be the green house, where many plants would find themselves flourishing, mostly because of Reginald finding himself taking care of the plants when his emotions would get the better of him.
Reginald however never saw the tree grow much bigger, passing away from what was clearly a broken grieving heart.
Right had Reginald buried underneath the cherry blossom tree, where Right only hoped Reginald could find Henry again and be reunited.
