Susan wasn't particularly comfortable speaking with Tiana Truitt just yet. After Jess, she found it hard to interact with the people who had bigger reactions. Not just because they had hurt her dearest friend, but because she feared they'd have a worse reaction if they knew about her.
She supposed that was the cost of living a lie.
The politician was quick to catch her underlying attitude, and chose diplomacy over defensiveness. "Never too busy to help, I promise."
Susan raised her hands in surrender, one still bandaged from a slammed door the other night. "It is my job, after all. I shouldn't have been so short. What's your question, Tiana?"

do you know of any ancient egyptian deities (other than bes? ) who were worshipped in mesopotamia
ancient Egyptians seemed to have adopted some of their neighbour's deities (like resheph and anat) but it doesn't seem like their deities themselves were ever worshipped outside of egypt (before the cult of isis that is)
Iirc what was possible to establish is only that a figure common in glyptic art was possibly patterned on Bes, and that his name may or may not have influenced Pazuzu's (source; but there are multiple alternatives in this case). Iconography can travel separately from the theological idea of a specific deity, as the adoption of Taweret as a generic apotropaic(?) creature, the "Minoan genius", in Minoan art shows. Since transfer of Bes would like occur similarly - through apotropaic objects meant for domestic use - I'd be cautious with evaluating if we are dealing with genuine Bes in this context, but I am not really aware of any recent studies which would explore this topic, so the 1990s consensus doesn't need to be undermined either. "It doesn't seem like their deities themselves were ever worshipped outside of egypt" is incorrect but you should be looking at Byblos and Kush first and foremost, not Mesopotamia. There's a recent article on the pantheon of Kush here, I can't recommend a single source when it comes to Byblos atm but you should get some solid sources from the bibliography of the Baalat Gebal article I wrote on wikipedia a few months ago. There's ample evidence for the reception of Thoth in Phoenicia in particular. Also, reception of Egyptian deities in the Greco-Roman world later on was not limited to Isis either, the oracle of Amon enjoyed considerable popularity iirc. Mesopotamia and Egypt were not particularly close culturally let alone theologically before the first millennium BCE when the Neo-Assyrian empire came to control Egypt, and even then, the reception of Egyptian ideas in Mesopotamia is a pretty complicated matter, see here (note the article is wrong about the connection between Humban and Napirisha, they were not the same deity). For a recent overview of textual evidence for Egypt-Mesopotamia contacts see here. The Amarna excavations did show that Egypt must have maintained a cadre of diplomats who learned how to write in Akkadian and there was obviously the exchange of letters with Kassite and Middle Assyrian rulers but ultimately the main groups to converse in Akkadian with would be the elites of various Syrian statelets and Hittite diplomats, not the Mesopotamians themselves. It did not necessarily require theological knowledge, also, seeing as the Egyptian versions of bilingual treaties at times get the gender of deities wrong. When it comes to incorporation of foreign deities into Egyptian religion, see here. Something worth highlighting is that for some reason when it comes to the north, save for Baalat Gebal and Horon most of the deities do not seem to come from the immediate proximity of Egyptian borders: Resheph and Anat were hardly worshiped south of Ugarit on the coast, they were "middle Euphrates" deities first and foremost, and the Egyptian Ashtart shows more similarity to Ugaritic evidence than anything. On the Mesopotamian side, foreign deities - usually Hurrian ones, with Shaushka being particularly well attested, less commonly Elamite, Amorite or Kassite - were usually incorporated in peripheral areas where Mesopotamian and non-Mesopotamian culture intersected - so places like the Middle Euphrates, Susiana or Arrapha (around modern Kirkuk).

“Arab traditions record that the Adites, sprung from the blood of Ham, were the first inhabitants of Yemen, Hadramaut, and the countries of Mahrah and Oman”
“This statement fully agrees with the 10th chapter of Genesis, in which we find a considerable portion of the descendants of Cush inhabiting this region, where also modern science has discovered unmistakable traces of the Cushites”
The sons of Cush are Nimrod, Seba, Havilah, Sabtah, Raamah and Sabteca…

Ethiopia, or Cush, is said to be encompassed by one of the four rivers which branched off from each other at the site of the Garden of Eden, one of which was the Euphrates and another the Tigris”
“The Ethiopia there referred to must, therefore, have been in Asia, and as shown by the author of the article "Eden” in Smith's Dictionary of the Bible, included Arabia and also Susiana, or Chusistan, to the east of the Euphrates, which, as its name implies, was also the land of Cush”
“The names, "Havilah” and "Seba" two of the sons of Cush, and "Dedan," his grandson, were the names respectively of portions of Northern, Southern and Eastern Arabia implying therefore that Arabia was the first home of the Cushite race.”
“These ancient Cushites of the Arabian peninsula originally consisted of twelve tribes—Ad, Thamoud (probably so named after Thamus or Tammuz), Tasm, Djadis, Amlik (Amalek), Oumayim, Abil, Djourhoum, Wabar, Jasm, Antem and Hashem.”
“From this it would appear that the Amalekites who occupied the country to the extreme north of Arabia and the south of Palestine were of this race.”
“It would therefore appear that the Aribah or Adites, the ancient inhabitants of the Arabian peninsula, previous to the arrival of the Semitic Arabs, were the Cushite founders of the first Babylonian Empire; and that Arabia, lying midway between African and Asiatic -Ethiopia, was the first home of the Cushite race.”

LVII - Iris susiana (Redouté)
The mind finds excuses to hold on, as if there ever was a possibility that you would love me too. I miss you. I miss joy. I miss answers to the questions I have inside of me. Strong is the weakness and never gone. Together and always alone. How could you possibly be anything I dream you to be? My projection is the danger of myself. I just can be me and no one else. And you, sleeping at your side, would it help me in anyway? I’m a stranger, typing letters into a machine.

Trick or treat 🌈🦄
Treat 🎃
Goddess Manzi' at, Manzât, Ma(n)zat, Manziat, Mazzi'at, Mazzât, Mazzêt (Akkadian, Elamite), Tir-ana (Sumerian)
Goddess primarily of Elam and associated with Susiana. Šimut, a netherworld and herald god, seems to have been her spouse, Lugal-gida was her son, and the goddess Sililitu(m) her vizier.
Her name was probably borrowed from Akkadian and means "Rainbow," as does the Sumerian Tir-ana, literally "Bow of Heaven." She is first attested in a treaty between Narām-Sîn of Akkad and a king of Susa. In the period 2000-1500 BCE she appears mainly in theophoric personal names.
Untaš-Napiriša commissioned a temple for her at Choga Zanbil, and a brick from modern Dhe-e-Nou indicates that Šutruk-Naḫḫunte similarly built a temple for her in that city. A stele of Šilḫak-Inšušinak I refers to a temple of Manzi'at that she shared with Šimut, from which reference it has generally been assumed that she was his wife. In an inscription from Ḫuldelutuš-Inšušinak she is referred to as "great lady," and the same king mentions a joint temple of Manzi'at and Šimut. Manzi'at is likely the same goddess as Mesopotamian Bēlet-āli(m). She had a sanctuary at Nippur and four shrines in Babylon. Manzi'at was also a manifestation of Ištar and part of the constellation Andromeda.

Abram Comes All the Way to God,
God Reveals the Future.
Sunday, September 10th 2023 A.D.
Genesis 15:1-21
Golden Text: ... Fear not Abram: I Am thy shield and thy exceeding great reward. - Genesis 15:1
And he (Abram) believed in the LORD; and He counted it to him for righteousness. Genesis 15:6
God has just delivered the four kings, led by Chedorlaomer king of Elam. Elam is another name for Persia or Susa (capitol of Persia). This country of Elam was in conflict with Ur of the Chaldees (Britannica). Thus the people of Ur (birth place of Abram) would have been known as Elam and Elamites. We remember that Elam is a child of Shem, a grandson of Noah. Shem is not mentioned as being involved with the Tower of Babel, but may well have been.
The person Chedorlaomer of Elam is believed to be a sub ruler or governor of an area under the control of Persia, Susa. It was Chedorlaomer who had Sodom and Gomorrah under his subjection. Then when they rebelled, he joined three other local kings. They went against Sodom and took captive Lot. Abram then went to rescue Lot and defeated the four kings led by Chedorlaomer. Abram brought back Lot and all that had been taken. Then there was the meeting with Melchizedek. Then Abram came back to his land. But now Abram may have been concerned that the larger Persian forces may have been angered and be coming after him. WHERE COULD HE TURN FOR HELP?
Elam lay ... to the east of Babylonia, and extending to the shore" "of the Mediterranean, a distance in a direct line of about 1,000" "miles. The name Elam is an Assyrian word meaning "high." "The inhabitants of Elam, or `the Highlands,' to the east of "Babylon, were called Elamites. They were divided into several" "branches, speaking different dialects ... but in the time of "Abraham, Shushan or Susa appears to have already become the" capital of the country. ... "On the fall of the Assyrian Empire, Elam passed into the hands" "of the Persians" ... "This country was called by the Greeks Cissia or Susiana.
Message Text: - Genesis, Chapter 15:1-21
1 After these things the word of the LORD came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I Am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward.
Fear not, Abram: I Am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward. Abram was concerned about the power of Persia. Would they come on him and seek to destroy all that Abram had and his family and servants and livestock and goods? PERHAPS! But then God spoke.
Fear not, Abram: I Am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward. Fear is a terribly troubling experience. Fear Not. There is nothing to be concerned about. God tells you, QUIT WORRYING! God assured Abram that HE, God would be his shield (Strongs: H4043: a shield (i.e. the small one or buckler); figuratively, a protector; also the scaly hide of the crocodile: . . . God would be His protector from all the assaults of the enemy. If Abram believed that, and he did, then Abram had Nothing to Fear. Is anything too hard for God? NO!
If God speaks it, it is done. It is a completed task. Fear will vanish as Faith in God takes its place. You should try it sometime.
Oh, and if you are concerned that perhaps you should have taken of the spoil of the battle, you did the right thing, you tithed to God through Melchizedek and depended upon, Me God for your wealth. I will be your exceeding great reward.
2 And Abram said, Lord GOD, what wilt Thou give me, seeing I go childless, and the steward of my house is this Eliezer of Damascus? 3 And Abram said, Behold, to me Thou hast given no seed: and, lo, one born in my house is mine heir.
Having been comforted about this fear of enemies and his future, Abram questions God about another matter that concerns Abram a great deal, his children, his descendants, his offspring. All this You have given me. What is to become of it all?
Abram said, Lord GOD, what wilt Thou give me, seeing I go childless? Okay God, but what good is all this wealth? I have no one to leave it to. And the way it looks now, I am well over 75 and my wife Sarai is well over 65. We have no children. Did You forget us Father-God?
The steward of my house is this Eliezer of Damascus? It appears to me that Eliezer will be my only heir.
Thou hast given no seed: and, lo, one born in my house is mine heir.
It appears that I will leave everything to Eliezer or his children. Can You please explain that to me Father-God?
4 And, behold, the word of the LORD came unto him, saying, This shall not be thine heir; but he that shall come forth out of thine own bowels shall be thine heir.
Now I know that Abram and God were close. Abram was the friend of God. However, I am not sure he should have been so bold and insistent. God gave Abram a quick and sure answer.
This shall not be thine heir; but he that shall come forth out of thine own bowels shall be thine heir. God is speaking to a man well over 75, but not yet 86 when Abram and Sarai decide that God needs help to supply them with a child and so they give Hagar to Abram. But God was not speaking about a young son born to a slave mother. The son of Abram would be a truly miracle baby as Sarai (Sarah) will be 90 and Abraham will be 100 when he is born. A seed was being preserved by God. God knew what He was doing and when HE wanted to do it.
Abram was very close to God, but Abram was not even close to the Power, Wisdom, Authority and Understanding of God. How about you? IS GOD, GOD IN YOUR LIFE? Or do you often try to help God?
But Abram apparently was slow at grasping the truth, so God took him outside, perhaps in the evening to become a star gazer.
5 And He brought him forth abroad, and said, Look now toward heaven, and tell the stars, if thou be able to number them: and He said unto him, So shall thy seed be.
Look now. (naw-bat' Strongs: H5027: to scan, i.e. look intently at; by implication, to regard with pleasure, favor or care:--(cause to) behold, consider, look (down), regard, have respect, see. 1) to look, regard, 1b2) to regard, show regard to, pay attention to, consider) toward heaven, and
Tell (count, name) the stars, if thou be able to number them.
So shall thy seed be. That is the number of offspring, descendants that will come forth from thy lineage. SUDDENLY AN OVERWHELMED ABRAM BELIEVED. Abram believed that God was his shield, his rewarder. And God was telling the truth. All his doubts and fears vanished.
IT was like Abram was standing at the altar and his bride Sarai, began to walk down the aisle toward him. This was real. This woman was to be his wife. All others were forsaken. Abram would love only Sarai. HERE ABRAM said goodbye to the false gods of his childhood. He believed God. Many commentators tell you that they believe that this was when Abram ended his engagement with God and became His Bride.
Isaiah 61:10 KJV I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for He hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, He hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels.
6 And he believed in the LORD; and He counted it to him for righteousness.
Note the wording. And he believed in the LORD. Abram did not just believe the Lord, he believed in the LORD. (Yeh-ho-vaw') Strongs: H3068: (the) self-Existent or Eternal; Jehovah, Jewish national name of God: Jehovah = "the existing One"
1) the proper name of the one true God, 1a) unpronounced except with the vowel pointings. :LORD would include the Triune God, so one could say that here Abram believed in the One True God, Father, Son and Holy Ghost. Abram believed in the LORD Jesus. Jesus means Jehovah is Salvation. And the reaction of God?
He (GOD) counted it to him (Abram) for righteousness. Righteousness: Pronounce: tsed-aw-kaw': Strongs: H6666 rightness (abstractly), subjectively (rectitude), objectively (justice), morally (virtue) ... 1) justice, righteousness, 1a) righteousness (in government), 1b) righteousness (of God's attribute) 1f) righteousness (as vindicated), justification, salvation 1f1) of God.
Abram forsook all other false gods, false beliefs and acknowledged and came to God as best he could with the Light given at the time. One might say Abram was born again. Then God knowing what Abram was thinking, assured Abram.
A pastor who was teaching on this verse and he made the point that this was the point where a person is coming to a real relationship with Jesus. It is as if he has a pen in his hand and the Lord is asking him to sign up with the Lord. He then stated if the man does not sign up with the LORD, then he faces certain death and going to the place of outer darkness, with people screaming and gnashing their teeth and they will be there in torment for ever and ever and ever. On the other hand if they sign up with Jesus they (you) will spend the life that follows this existence upon Earth, in a place of peace, joy, love, faith goodness and paradise. This also will last forever and ever and ever. Here he said Abram chose to sign up with the LORD and have that good everlasting life in heaven. Then he asked the people at the church, have you made that final decision? Where will you spend your time in the life after this one is over? WORTH THINKING ABOUT? Yes, Sir.
7 And He said unto him, I Am the LORD that brought thee out of Ur of the Chaldees, to give thee this land to inherit it.
I Am the LORD that brought thee out of Ur of the Chaldees. God assures Abram. It is all true. God reminds Abram of His call that brought him out of the world or idolatry to follow and believe the One, True, Living, Creator God. Abram had become engaged, but was not committed totally unto God. We do not see evidence of prayer during the famine.
Abram trusted in his own ideas and went into Egypt lied and told his wife to lie about being just his sister. She was his half sister, but she was also his wife. Abram exposed her to possible harem living. But God intervened. God plagued Egypt and God rescued Sarai. And recognizing the Supernatural Hand of God, Pharaoh rebuked Abram, compensated him and sent him away telling Abram of his sin.
God said that God brought Abram out: to give thee this land to inherit it. God was once again promising Abram the land would belong to his descendants. Abram was, at that time, childless. This must have made Abram wonder if he was hearing from God or from his own desires. So GOD said (God spoke out in an audible Voice) to Abram. But Abram, a man without a single child wondered how could God give him and his descendants land. Abram had no children.
8 And he (Abram) said, Lord GOD, whereby shall I know that I shall inherit it?
Remember Abram was more than 75, his wife more than 65 years of age, and at that point they were childless. How could Abram KNOW? He may well have believed, but he like Gideon, wanted some extra proof.
And this was not the first time this promise was given (see: Genesis 12:1-3, 12:7, and 13:15-17). Yet this was a dramatic and clear restatement of the promise of God to give the land to Abram and his covenant descendants.
Though God had just accounted Abram as righteous, Abram could still demonstrate some degree of doubt, as indicated by his question, How shall I know that I will inherit it? Abram experienced what many of those who are accounted righteous do. It was as if he said, I believe when I hear God say it, but five minutes later, I just am not sure - please prove it to me. (Gideon and the fleece)
What Abraham? Is not the promise of God sufficient for thee? Ah, beloved! Faith is often marred by a measure of unbelief; or, if not quite unbelief, yet there is a desire to have some token, some sign, beyond the bare promise of God. (Spurgeon)
Abram had no title deed to the land, no certificate of ownership that another person would recognize. Abram had nothing to make anyone else believe he actually owned the land. All he had was the promise of God.
9 And He (GOD) said unto him,Take Me an heifer of three years old, and a she goat of three years old, and a ram of three years old, and a turtledove, and a young pigeon.
God said: Take Me an heifer of three years old, and a she goat of three years old, and a ram of three years old, and a turtledove, and a young pigeon. Was God asking for a sacrifice? Or was God about to enter into a covenant with Abram? We know God is Creator and does not need anything. God owns it all, the birds and the bees, the plants and man. So Abram obeyed the LORD. Why? Abram understood the things needed to cut a covenant or enter into a binding agreement, that would include God.
These were common animals to be used to make a contract (cut a covenant) and this was to be a sacred covenant that included God.
10 And he took unto him all these, and divided them in the midst, and laid each piece one against another: but the birds divided he not. 11 And when the fowls came down upon the carcases, Abram drove them away.
He (Abram) took unto him all these, and divided them in the midst, and laid each piece one against another: but the birds divided he not. Abram divided (cut) them in the middle. Abram laid them in order before the LORD. But the birds typically when used for this or for a sacrifice were not cut. Abram was prepared to now enter into a covenant with the LORD.
And when the fowls came down upon the carcases, Abram drove them away. When the birds such as vultures or other scavengers of dead things came to consume the covenant offering, Abram protected them and drove the birds of prey, away. They were not going to interfere with this covenant between Abram and the LORD.
In those days, contracts were made by the sacrificial cutting of animals, with the split carcasses of the animals lying on the ground. The covenant was made when parties to the agreement walked through the animal parts together, repeating the terms of the covenant. The LORD made a covenant in Genesis 15:18 is literally, the LORD cut a covenant.
...
ii. Jeremiah 34:18-20 makes reference to this same practice of a covenant made by cutting animals and repeating the oath of the covenant as one walks through the animal parts.
...
iii. The symbolism was plain. First, this is a covenant so serious, it is sealed with blood. Second, if I break this covenant, let this same bloodshed be poured out on my animals and me.
...
iv. When Abram had his doubts and wanted assurance from the LORD, God said to him clearly, Let us sign a contract and settle this once for all. - Blue Letter Bible - Pastor David Guzik.
12 And when the sun was going down, a deep sleep fell upon Abram; and, lo, an horror of great darkness fell upon him.
And when the sun was going down, a deep sleep fell upon Abram; It is believed by Commentators that as evening approached, God had not yet come down to confirm the covenant. And most likely Abram tried to stay awake, but a deep sleep (Strongs: H8639: Orig: from 7290; a lethargy or (by implication) trance:--deep sleep.) One may suppose that it was as if Abram was in a coma. The outside world was shut out.
An horror of great darkness fell upon him. Abram experienced dread, terror fell upon him. Was it because God had not yet come down to confirm the covenant? Was Abram afraid the birds of prey would return? The darkness was intense. One can think of the thick darkness that could be felt in Egypt. It was a frightening experience for Abram. God was preparing him for the bad news to be followed by the good news.
13 And He said unto Abram, Know of a surety that thy seed shall be a stranger in a land that is not theirs, and shall serve them; and they shall afflict them four hundred years; 14 And also that nation, whom they shall serve, will I judge: and afterward shall they come out with great substance.
Know of a surety that thy seed shall be a stranger in a land that is not theirs, and shall serve them; and they shall afflict them four hundred years; Although God does not name the land, the description matches the time in Egypt where they were afflicted for four hundred of the four hundred thirty years they were in Egypt (Acts 7:6). They were strangers and they were afflicted and they were servants (slaves). They suffered great injustice. But GOD would send a deliverer...
And also that nation, whom they shall serve, will I judge: and afterward shall they come out with great substance. But in the end of the period of exile, bondage and affliction, God would bring ten (10) great plagues upon Egypt and finally the Israelite descendants of Abram were allowed to leave. But as they left they were given great riches by their captors, their slave masters. Here below is the account.
1 And the LORD said unto Moses, Yet will I bring one plague more upon Pharaoh, and upon Egypt; afterwards he will let you go hence: when he shall let you go, he shall surely thrust you out hence altogether. 2 Speak now in the ears of the people, and let every man borrow of his neighbour, and every woman of her neighbour, jewels of silver, and jewels of gold. 3 And the LORD gave the people favour in the sight of the Egyptians. Moreover the man Moses was very great in the land of Egypt, in the sight of Pharaoh's servants, and in the sight of the people. - Exodus 11:1-3
33 And the Egyptians were urgent upon the people, that they might send them out of the land in haste; for they said, We be all dead men. 34 And the people took their dough before it was leavened, their kneadingtroughs being bound up in their clothes upon their shoulders. 35 And the children of Israel did according to the word of Moses; and they borrowed of the Egyptians jewels of silver, and jewels of gold, and raiment: 36 And the LORD gave the people favour in the sight of the Egyptians, so that they lent unto them such things as they required. And they spoiled the Egyptians. - Exodus 12:33-36
Again we see that what God says will happen, does come to pass.
15 And thou shalt go to thy fathers in peace; thou shalt be buried in a good old age.
Abram was to live to the age of 175 and be the father of multitudes.
7 And these are the days of the years of Abraham's life which he lived, an hundred threescore and fifteen years. 8 Then Abraham gave up the ghost, and died in a good old age, an old man, and full of years; and was gathered to his people. 9 And his sons Isaac and Ishmael buried him in the cave of Machpelah, in the field of Ephron the son of Zohar the Hittite, which is before Mamre; - Genesis 25:7-9
16 But in the fourth generation they shall come hither again: for the iniquity of the Amorites is not yet full.
In the fourth generation they shall come hither again: for the iniquity of the Amorites is not yet full. Then after the coming out of Egypt, these your descendants will come into this land of Canaan. But not now, I, GOD, am giving the current inhabitants more time to repent and come back to Me.
17 And it came to pass, that, when the sun went down, and it was dark, behold a smoking furnace, and a burning lamp that passed between those pieces.
When the sun went down, and it was dark. While Abram was yet in this deep sleep stage or perhaps awaking, Abram was shown things in a vision or Abram may have seen them.
Either way a burning lamp passed between those pieces. God had appeared as at the burning bush before Moses or the Lamp, the Light of the world appeared and passed between the pieces set forth to cut or establish the covenant with the LORD. It was complete. God had verified His promise by His covenant. And as the later history reveals, God kept His Word. And all that God said did come to pass.
I. The smoking oven reminds us of the many times smoke or a cloud represented the presence of God:
As the pillar of cloud with Israel in the wilderness (Exodus 13:21-22).
As the smoke on Mount Sinai (Exodus 19:18).
As the cloud of the Shekinah glory of God (1 Kings 8:10-12).
18 In the same day the LORD made a covenant with Abram, saying, Unto thy seed have I given this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates:
Unto thy seed have I given this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates. The LORD made a covenant. The LORD entered into a contract with a man named Abram. GOD MADE AN AGREEMENT WITH A MAN. WOW!!! What was that agreement?
God has promised to Abram that his descendants will have the land from the Nile River in Egypt to the river Euphrates running through Babylon. That land which God created, which God judged was given by the Only One Who could make such a transaction and make it come to pass.
I. For a very brief time, under Solomon (1 Kings 8:65) and possibly again under Jeroboam II (2 Kings 14:25), the children of Israel ruled all this territory, as a token of the final and permanent possession they will have in the future. (Morris) - 2018 Pastor David Guzik (Blue Letter Bible)
19 The Kenites, and the Kenizzites, and the Kadmonites, 20 And the Hittites, and the Perizzites, and the Rephaims, 21 And the Amorites, and the Canaanites, and the Girgashites, and the Jebusites.
We must remember that God was communicating to Abram and of the people then living in the land Canaan, during the time of Abram. And some cannot be identified even when Joshua leads the children of Israel into Canaan land.
The Kenites, - inhabiting the mountainous tracts in the south-west of Palestine, near the Amalekites (Numbers 24:21; 1 Samuel 15:6; 1 Samuel 27:10); a people of uncertain origin, though (Judges 1:16; Judges 4:11) Hobab, the brother-in-law of Moses, was a Kenite who probably became extinct between the times of Abraham and Moses as they cannot now be identified, though they have been connected with Kenaz the Edomite, Genesis 36:15, 42
and the Kadmonites, - never again referred to, but, as their name implies, an Eastern people, whose settlements extended towards the Euphrates
and the Hittites, - the descendants of Heth (Genesis 10:15); identified with the Kheta and Katti of the Egyptian and Assyrian monuments, ... a powerful Asiatic tribe who must have early established themselves on the Euphrates, and spread from thence southward to Canaan and Egypt, and westward to Lydia and Greece, carrying with them, towards the shores of the AEgean Sea, the art and culture of Assyria and Babylon, already modified by the forms and conceptions of Egypt. -
and the Perizzites, and the Rephaims (Genesis 13:7; Genesis 14:5) and
the Amorites, and the Canaanites, and the Oirgashites. For more details, see Numbers 34:1-12
and the Jebusites (Genesis 10:15-19). According to the Table of Nations in Genesis 10, the Jebusites were descended from Ham, through his son Canaan. They were one of the Amorite tribes who were placed under judgment by God for their wickedness (Genesis 15:16). God described their pagan worship as abominable practices (Deuteronomy 20:18), which may have included child sacrifice. As a result of that judgment, God told the Israelites to exterminate all of the Amorite tribes when they came into the land. The Israelites were also forbidden to intermarry with them, so the Jebusites would not pass on their pagan practices. The Jebusites dwelt in the hill country, with Jerusalem being one of their chief cities.
CONCLUSION: Abram comes to total complete faith. Abram signs his contract, so to speak with God. Abram thus avoids the tormenting fires of hell and the lake of fire. Abram makes his future home with God in heaven for eternity. Have you settled your account? Have you gone from your engagement period to the marriage, so to speak, with God? Are you a part of the Bride of Christ? That is something you dare not be wrong about.
Once Abram is clearly in the camp of God, God begins to deal with him as a trusted friend. Yes, Abram and Sarai, will fail to be the pristine people that we hope that they will be as an example to us, but Abram believed in the LORD. He believed in the Promise of God. Do you believe in the LORD? The Bible tells us that the devil believes. So mere belief is not enough. THINK. Examine yourself and see if you be in the faith.
PRAYER: Heavenly Father, we come before You, not trusting in our own righteousness but asking You to look upon my heart and forgive me of all my sin and unrighteousness so that You can hear and answer my prayer. I, like Abram, need to draw closer to You. And if I have not made that final commitment to You, please draw me into that newness of life that guarantees a final home in heaven. Then use me, I pray, to help add to those heirs of Abram (Abraham) as they become like the dust on the earth in number. Draw me nearer, nearer blessed Lord to You. May the words of my mouth and the meditations of my heart be acceptable to You, my LORD and my Redeemer. Help me to be willing to be in a covenant relationship with You, I pray. Make me acceptable in Thy Sight, my LORD and my God. This I pray in the Name of Jesus Christ, THE LORD. Amen and amen.
May God bless you in all that you do for Him, ?? Brother J.R. Soul winner, Bible teacher, Defender of the Faith

LVII - Traueriris

The Good, The Bad, The Awkward Pt. 1 || Susiana
2. Plot a thread that takes place in one of Swynlake’s businesses with a mun that you don’t currently have a thread with.
Susan’s dark eyes darted around the eclectic decor at Hatter’s while she waited for her ‘date.’ Even the word itself brought on a wave of anxiety to the succubus. It wasn’t that people made her nervous, or that she didn’t think her date would go well... honestly, it going well is what scared her. She could never be with such a sweet woman like Tiana Truitt. She had so much going for her, a blossoming career and new restaurant, a pretty face.
The reserved woman knew this was set up by interested parties. “You’re a beautiful woman, Susan. You need to get out more!” She rolled her eyes at that. If only they knew... Pulled out of her negative reverie by a bell ringing, she looked up and smiled instinctively.
“Tiana. It’s so good to see you, you look wonderful.”
