Hi I finished 2.2’s quest FINALLY and man I really love Sunday's character so much. Spoilers for 2.2 ahead:
He grew up in an environment where he saw people get exploited by other for their own means. Hell in the confessional he sits in for you see how isolated he is in the Family outside of the Dreammaster and his sister, with that one Pepeshi merchant threatening him with pulling support if he didn't do what the merchant wanted. Sunday’s relationship with Penacony is like that analogy of living in a house that’s on fire for so long you don’t understand what it’s like to free of the blaze.
Everything he's tried to do to alleviate the suffering of those around him has been in vain in the end. Penacony is basically all he's know his whole life, unlike Robin, so much so that it's become a cage. HE'S the bird that tries to fly only to crash and die, so he’s stuck. The Dreammaster has taught him the cage is a good thing because in this cage, you’ll be taken care of by Ena in exchange for your autonomy. Autonomy is a fair price to pay for safety, right?
He truly does have good intentions, the intention of wanting to protect people who can’t protect themselves, but the way he goes about it is fundamentally corrupted because his view of the world is corrupted by the Family from the start. The Dreammaster calls him a little scholar when he’s a child and a child when he’s an adult. Sunday and Robin are nothing but a means to an end for the Dreammaster and Sunday knows it, so much so that he’s willing to sacrifice himself so Robin doesn’t have to take on this burden. He will always be the bird who takes on the burden of the cage so that his sister can enjoy flying free, especially if he can make it so that that freedom wont end with a hunter shooting her down. His life is ultimately worthless to him, only a tool to trade for Robin’s happiness.
In the end, he’s crashing to his death after he was too weak to fly freely, so Robin falls with him and hugs him because now it’s her turn to protect him, to help him fly so he doesn’t crash like the dove from their childhood. She is strong and he is weak but she will protect him because this world isn’t just a system of survival of the fittest and Penacony can be heal without the protection of a cage.
Honestly his entire arc feels like a spiritual journey of rediscovery, the beliefs he was raised with making him miserable and it leading to him breaking away from the institution that raised him, becoming disillusioned and finding his own relationship with a higher power through the love and support of those who actually care about him. I really do hope Sunday gets redeemed because so much of his mindset came from being raised in an unhealthy environment on top of being isolated from anyone else who could’ve helped him get out of it. Robin won’t let him fall like the morning star; she’s finally got her brother back.

Survival Of The Fittest
For those who are affected by Scorpio/8th house/12th house: scorpio rising/moon in scorpio/venus in scorpio/moon in 8th house/venus in 8th house/pluto in 1st house/pluto in 8th house/pluto in 12th house/12th lord in 8th house/7th lord in 8th house/8th lord in 7th house/inner planets in 8th house/Saturn in 8th house/Sun in 12th house
The phrase 'Survival Of the Fittest' was coined by Herbert Spencer after he was inspired by Charles Darwin's On the Origin of Species. Spencer drew parallels between his own economic theories and Darwin's biological theories and said "This survival of the fittest, which I have here sought to express in mechanical terms, is that which Mr. Darwin has called 'natural selection', or the preservation of favoured races in the struggle for life." We, in astro community, can draw a similar parallel to the astrological theories that indicate a difficult emotional, psychological, mental, physical, fated and spiritual life. Even Carl Jung associated collective unconscious to the genetic memory that exists in all of humanity universally.
Survival of the fittest means that organisms that are better adapted to their environment are best suited to survive and successfully reproduce. It also explains how evolution occurs in species by means of natural selection of those traits that are better adapted to a given set of environmental conditions. We read all this in school textbooks and forget it all when we walk into the real world.
Having difficult 8th house/12th house placements is like the Sisyphean task when he was condemned to roll a boulder up a hill, only to have it fall near the top, forcing him to start over and over again. This is what it feels like to be battling the unknown, unseen, intangible psychic forces of the 8th and 12th houses that emerge in the awareness from time to time endlessly. You are stuck in a situation that you cannot explain in words so you seek answers in symbolism, esoteric, dreams, psychology, magic and otherworldly pursuits because your problems are simply not visible to the naked eyes.
4. The paradox of life is that even though we are born with difficult life stories, the world does not have space for the weak, dependent, miserable. On one hand, this creates isolation, victim mentality, bitterness, "nobody understands me", "society is so insensitive to mental health issues". But on the other hand, we realize that we are just animals, some really smart animals that can think, write, civilize, earn money, reproduce, make laws, run the system, yet we are just animals in the hands of natural laws. The law of nature, therefore, is survival of the fittest, to become strong, adapt, improvise, improve, evolve, grow.
5. The point of this post is not laziness but exhaustion/victim mindset/bitterness/feeling left behind tendencies in native who had to spend a lot of times in healing, battling their psychological issues that appear invisible to the physical eyes and living with a sense of "what is wrong with me?"
6. To them, I just want to say that do not let the exhaustion tear you down. The environments of 8th and 12th houses are such emergency provoking, life threatening, dark, hidden, unknown, distant from physical life, invisible to naked eyes, emotionally draining and psychically charged. How you learn to accept your fate and live along with it is in your hands. I too had to come to terms with the constant ups and downs of my story, the sudden detours and catastrophe of my story, sometimes the sadistic undertones and stagnancy of my story, but in the end I realized that I was the saviour to my own fallen angel. Whether it is my past life karma, intergenerational karma or random allotment of fates, I would not live in bitterness and envy of those who have it easier, better and colourful. Learning to adapt to the environments of 8th and 12th houses is a real challenge, a very difficult one, not written in books but usually comes to knowedge intuitively and that is why it is so hard to understand and codify in language.
7. Finally, I do not have any advice or rulebook for 8th/12th housers, for each person has their own unique solution. I would just like to say that time is running out, you have already seen the theme of your life until now, be brave, pull yourself up and make peace with your traumatic memories. And maybe, find attract people who are also in a similar attitude as you. People who understand when you say "No I don't want to watch a movie right now, I want to journal some of my thoughts and emotions."

sundays philosophy explained very badly
and yes he seriously needs to go see a shrink.
!! spoilers for the 2.2 story quest!!
also hoyo is trying to be very subtle with the HI3 World Serpent reference.
first thing first, the positives. his ideology might be twisted but Sunday has never use his position of power to sabotage the opposing party (the backstabbing kind)(not that i know of💔). He seeks total dominance from a fair fight, ultimately to prove his beliefs superior.
he never outright rejects the ideas of our protagonist but instead use grounded argument to support his. its not a fight for total oppression of the people but a wrestle among philosophies, that he believes the worthier one will be judged by the people, the aeons, and fate itself.
✦ . ⁺ . ✦ . ⁺ . ✦
! kay so what is Sundayeology.
"a dystopia for the survival of the fittest, or a Sweatdream Paradise for all?"
the way i see it, Sunday wish to bring the closest form of equality into reality(dream xd). a place where strength, status, gender, etc. determined at birth does not affect the life that person desires. he wants to resist the flow of nature, an inherent evil in his eyes that calls itself Natural Selection. The method of such resistance is through Order.
"nature is always accompanied by predation and sacrifice... Its antithesis is known as Order."
how does Sunday define this "Sweatdream Paradise" of his? in his perfect world, nobody would need to work, and hence, would entirely avoid the hardship of reality. it would lead to a forced evolution where we would evolve into a life form detached from our physical state. This transcendence beyond the physical world mainly applies to the human spirit. without hunger and such as, human can cast aside our primal instinct and truly live a life striving towards self enlightenment. only in this hypothetical world do people return to their original self and when faced with their predetermined end, they would leave in the purest of spirit with their dignity intact. To feathered head, this is universal happiness.
so the whats!? mild food for thoughts, facing hardship degrade your dignity???
(might!! have an idea, where most people would assume 'growth' in a emotion sense, 'growth' in Sunday eyes is more on the spiritual side. therefore, in his world, by removing physical limitation where also removing spiritual pain)
"and it is only on these days, that people do not have to adhere to the law where the strong prey on the weak"
in true antagonist fashion, Sunday is a bit of a hypocrite, the status quo where "the strong prey on the weak" is erred but a system where "the strong govern the weak" is perfectly acceptable.
Sunday believes that the individuals that go against his philosophy are the exception, not the rule. as the weekend man himself put it, the ideals the Nameless fought for only represent a small percentage of the people/ 'the fittest' and their actions would negatively impact the 'anonymous and frail member among the masses'.
Sunday view our protagonist quest as quite selfish as they were only focused on striving for a Penocony they deemed right in their eyes, but disregard the perspective of the average Penocony residence (he thought he stood for)
💤⋆.ೃ࿔*:・
! Sundayeology pits against others (the ones i actually pay attention to)
Robin
it's clear robin was his first 'order awakening'(weird). her being shot in the neck and all shows him how Penacony or the universe at large cannot be salvaged through the path of Harmony.
' the bird
nature vs order, an overarching theme in Sundays philosophy. if you played through the 2.2 quest you'd notice the bird flashback is a reoccurring theme. it really helps translate his complex ideas into fornite terms for me. to put it simply, the dove is wounded and Sunday wish to keep it alive by caging it up, it'd be too weak to survive in the wild, at least this way it would continue on living. however, Robin held a different view.
2. Firefly
i think firefly rebuttal during the big yap scene really hit home for me. #powerfulmoment #moved #touched #girlboss #SAM
without any hardship or challenge, people would never have the chance to overcome their weakness and therefore this "blissful world" would only act as an escape for the forementioned weakness
these adversities we faced is just the way of life and the right to deal with them should never be taken from us in the first place.
"the want to escape may be innate in the weak, but whether they are weak are not... it is not up to another to decide
perhaps in your mind, you also view me as 'weak'?"
SHIVER ME TIMBERS. THAT LINE WAS DELIVERED SO WELL ONNNGOD I WAS SQUIRMING.
✩₊˚.⋆☾⋆⁺₊✧
! some random references i wanna point out
⋆ SIMULATION CONSPIRACY RING RING (i watched far way too many wendigoon lately) if dreams are undisguisable to reality, whats wrong with that
⋆ The Ones Who Walk Away from Omelas: for the masses to achieve eternal happiness, one person must shoulder all their pain (oh sunday)
"the cost is minute, merely a personal.. and eternal sacrifice. If this paradise is to be maintained for everyone, someone must remain trapped in solitary wakening, until the end of the cosmos."
like come onnn, they're not even trying to hide it.
⋆ like i mentioned before, the whole thing is just a big World Serpent reference (with less pressure for survival, MUCH LESS BLOODSHED). Sunday you're NOT Kevin Kaslana.
───── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ─────
i like how everyone has their own interpretation of "why do life slumber?" for lil vro its " because we are afraid to awaken from our dream"
silly beans:p
~ a/n: i like how allat means nothing at all.
signing of for good

Life – What a Delusion!
Ancient Indian philosophy says that our existence is merely an illusion (Maya) - it's just how the ultimate source of energy appears when you look at it through the lens of duality. Everything we perceive and think about is just concepts that our minds impose on our consciousness. Even big ideas like God or the devil are only in our heads as far as we can prove.
The truth is the only thing that exists is formless energy. And we're not separate beings - we're transient parts of that indivisible energy in our bodies and minds. Knowing and experiencing that formlessness is the key to getting past all the dualities like good and evil, cause and effect, etc. It helps reduce anxiety, fear, and illusions because those are just what our minds create when they separate the one absolute energy into two. In formlessness, reality doesn't change; it has no attributes, space, or time - it's just quantum fields having measurable and calculatable effects on light and matter in the universe. But when we see through duality, reality is constantly in flux based on what we think is genuine.
In human life, the supreme ability of formless energy takes shape in our minds as spiritual awareness - so we can watch the drama play out like a show. The human mind is the highest form of energy, so we can observe this illusion game that the mind plays.
The Hindu ancient texts further say the Creator is present in all its creations. Every living thing is aware and conscious of its surroundings. In plants and animals, that presence is lower - just survival of the fittest. But in humans, the presence of the Creator is there as the spirit or the witness, allowing the mind to observe, perceive, and conceive through its mind all that prevails in the universe.
You are that witness, the spirit, and the soul is that witness-er, a part of the mind in pure consciousness, the individual self-observer of your mind and body, watching all your thoughts. It is that the highest ability of energy, though unaware of itself, can make all living creatures aware, but is most intense in the case of human beings. The reason for being attributed as 'That art Thou.' The purpose is to make the mind aware and conscious of everything it perceives inside out.
Consciousness emerges after the mind becomes aware and goes into duality to make the mind conscious of what it cognitively perceives. It operates in three levels -superconscious when the soul awakens. Higher – is when the mind focuses on the now, and lowest is that realm of subconsciousness. Living in the duality of this and that is to help the mind find that oneness it's separated from. So, the mind and body go on a rollercoaster ride, leading a material and spiritual life trying to reach the ultimate state of consciousness. You never realize you are that spirit going through a state of beingness in human experiences with a body and mind that you consider yours.
The cognitive mind keeps playing its role in duality throughout life, looking for something it already has. That's the illusion about what life means and what it's for. The mind keeps experiencing duality but can seldom grasp the formlessness already in its core. Your mind should make full efforts to strive in spiritual practices with contentment, clarity, and consistency to experience clairvoyance through silence, solitude, and serenity, and with a constant endeavor to be selfless for the sake of that ultimate absoluteness in life.

When I have written to this man and told him that I hold him criminally responsible for the poisons which he circulates, we will have no more trouble. But it may recur. Others may find a better way. There is danger there—a very real danger to humanity. Consider, Watson, that the material, the sensual, the worldly would all prolong their worthless lives. The spiritual would not avoid the call to something higher. It would be the survival of the least fit. What sort of cesspool may not our poor world become?”
Sherlock Holmes diving headfirst into the fascist theory of social darwinism here. That is NOT what Darwin meant by survival of the fittest, it is a racist, classist and ableist reappropriation and should be killed with fire. I'm so upset

--- todo aoi + spirituality
spirituality was not a part of todo aoi’s early childhood. however, it came to him as a realization & as an awakening by the time he was thirteen.
when he thinks of himself at eight years old, nine years old . . . todo remembers when his that his nose ran too much when it was winter time, that he got bored in class, that teachers sometimes battled to determine whether they wanted to consider him inept ( a behavioral risk) or a promising student.
todo remembers that he entertained himself by clucking his tongue & enjoying how it to felt to make the sound - whenever he was reprimanded, he clucked his tongue to reprimand his critics too. it was annoying : that there were assumptions being made about him. about the sounds he made, the things he sometimes claimed to see, the flares of temper, the whatnots & everything in between.
there was no spirituality in his family. there were no ideals for success. there was survival of the fittest in a workforce arena. there was the threat of disconnection, & there was something else too.
at age eight, age nine — meals are whatever. when he has the chance, he overloads his food with spices & too-salty things of which he doesn't particularly enjoy the taste. mostly, todo just likes the flavor to be something bold.
with two day old rice in hand, he watches whatever played on television. sometimes there were documentaries about buddhists & monks & christian missionaries & who knows what. sometimes, he wonders if these documentaries would explain things he saw.
never mind.
when ( & if ) he considers the spirituality of his peers, he dismisses it. what others choose to do is none of his business. it does not interest him.
besides. there are more important things.
at age eight, age nine — he clucks his tongue against the roof the mouth & tries to imagine why the world feels a little slanted sideways.
sometimes he imagines that he can see everything. & then he wonders why he can't decide if it's too quiet, too loud.
mostly, it feels jumbled.
—- it occurs to him later.
later, as in: after he trains hard, brutally, beautifully. after he learns fundamentals about curses, about energy, & about the dead.
it occurs to him later to that spirituality can be a synonym for balance. it occurs to him later that he believes a lot. that he understands a lot.
todo believes:
perspective is everything when it comes to untangling the jumbled.
he doesn’t see everything. he sees flow. things that flow together don’t necessarily need to be compatible. they don’t need to fit together.
things can be jarring, & that’s a part of existing within balance; if the world is slanted, then it’s necessary to adjust the posture & the frame of vision to make things upright.
todo also believes that:
it’s a myth that balance means peace; he is not a peaceful person. he will never be a peaceful person.
self-discipline, self-awareness is necessary to maintain balance.
he believes other things too. about what it means when he asks what kind of woman is your type.
but mostly ? somewhere after age eight, age nine:
todo learned to interpret how he processes the world in terms of balance & flow. he thinks about his environment & himself holistically.
he was not born spiritual. but now he thinks spiritually about energy.
he applies this in how he prioritizes self-discipline in his own behaviors.

Why Qimir is wrong- an essay
First of all I’ll like to say that the following observations are based on the six episodes we’ve seen so far of The Acolyte and I have no idea what will happen in the next two.
Also, Qimir is as hot as Mustafar.
There has been a lot of concern until now (especially if you judge it by the headlines of most YouTube videos) that this show might be all anti-Jedi centred and might praise to much the villains. Like so many speculations, theories and concerns right now floating through the internet I thought them unneeded and haven’t been proven wrong as yet. Most good stories rely on the fact that it is more interesting if you can understand from where both sides are coming from and, if we are going to stick to Star Wars, the prequels were basically nothing more then an attempt to showcase where Darth Vader was coming from. Everybody praised Avengers: Infinity War for having Thanos be a complex character, so why shouldn’t The Acolyte have witches and Sith we are curious to know more about? Does that automatically make the show be anti-Jedi and Light Side? No, no it doesn’t.
But while I think the show has as yet a rather balanced outlook at characters believes and positions, and understands what is right and what is wrong, I do wonder at those from the audience who might think the show says “Qimir is right”
Well, I say “Qimir is wrong” And here’s why:
The most prevailing argument that he is making of why the Jedi are wrong, and that he (as a Dark Side user) has a right to exist is: Freedom. Everybody should have the freedom to do as he or she pleases, no limitations, follow your emotions because they are always right, power is a mighty weapon, no law should limit myself from expressing my individuality etc. But things aren’t that black and white as he paints them to be, aren’t they? Because “freedom” means responsibility, you CANNOT just do as you pleases, your emotions can blind you, the rules of society keep us united. It isn’t just about using the Force freely. It isn’t just the Jedi who are worried about Dark Side users, it’s the Republic.
The reason only Jedi are trained to use their powers is to prevent another Galaxy wide conflict like there was 1000 yers ago. Not every child sensitive in the Force is excepted into the Order nor does every family agree to send their child away, and that is okay because if not used the powers do not limit the person in his path later in life, except prevent psychotic mass murderers from wrecking havoc. (Insert tumblr joke).
It is always brought up how Jedi are against attachment and romantic relationships- well I haven’t seen a Sith romance last very long, did you? Does their way of thinking really support a quiet family life? Did Anakin say yes to Padme when she asked him to leave everything behind and be there for her and their child? I see always this argument of “Jedi can’t love” as a fact and exclusively bad thing, when the concept of monastic life is anything but coldhearted and anti-love. All the Jedi we’ve met here so far have been nothing but kind- even Yord. Why couldn’t friendships be based on really deep connections? Why should the personal gratification of oneself be the way to limit oneself in life? Qimir said there is no romantic love, no family life possible as a Jedi- yes but only because (from a Catholic point of view) we know family love and the love between two people is the most noble and worthy thing to strive for, so when you exclude yourself from that equation it isn’t because you don’t value them but because you value them so much that you are making a sacrifice to forgo this path and give yourself up to spiritual servitude to (insert your faith) and society as a whole. This concept may look odd to people from a secular worldview, but to millions of believers (Christian, Hindi, Buddhist or Shinto) it is a very valid concept.
Where does love have its place in Qimir’s worldview? Survival of the fittest? He tells Osha her feelings for Jecki would have always stayed on sided- so it was ok to kill her? Because my feelings alone are valid, everyone else is wrong? Isn’t that the lonely path?
"When you loose everything you're finally free"- Qimir, ep6 Teach/Corrupt
#sometimes I get really upset seeing people going “The Sith have a point”#it still doesn't mean the Sith are right!#the Dark Side is an incredibly lonely path#the Rule of Two- where every Apprentice eventually kills his master#passion rules instead of love#everybody is your enemy#Jedi are the complete opposite!#star wars#movies#tv shows#my thoughts#the acolyte#analisys#things i like

When You Know Who You Are No One Can Affect You.
You must choose to not associate with anyone YOU KNOW is not aligned with you. With compassion and love you choose to not let them access to you anymore. Think of yourself as a flower trying to bloom, but no one is watering you in this reality. The next city over, everyone is pouring into you while you blossom.
Say, "What is the best available choice for me in this NOW moment? Hmm, I can't go to these parties anymore with these people. I could make that choice with my free will, but it doesn't feel right in my body to go so I won't go. They never saw me, they never valued me, they don't allow me to be myself fully, they always judged me harshly, they traumatized me, they never pour into me. I am not going to anyone, what's meant for me will come to me, will find me because I'm a magnet for all my desires now." If you want to romanticize your life and how you view yourself, then romanticize your life. Make every moment beauitful. Their opinion can not affect you because they are a ghost in the matrix now. You choose how to view yourself, not them, you dictate your standards you have for yourself, not them, you create your reality, not them. Don't let anyone make you feel guilty for having standards for yourself. There are many brainwashed, heavily programmed people who are listening to people who tell them everything they want to hear.
They agree and support that person feeding them pretty lies. But when faced with a hard truth because they can't accept their own toxic ways, they will call the truth tellers, liars selling them a scam. They think logically, they are intelligent, (and they are) the way some people are book smart but lacking street smarts, not aware they are a multidimensional being. Some people are both book smart and street smart and other forms of intelligence because more of their codes have been turned on in their DNA, activating their other abilities. So they don't understand there are higher levels of perception and awareness. But these people ignoring their spiritual journey thinking of it as inferior to logic, they are never feeling their emotions, they are not going with the flow of the rhythm of life. Always programmed to believe that miracles are too good to be true. But they don't realize miracles are happening all the time, but they block them from themselves. They have their one perspective and their one perspective only, they aren't interested in listening to anyone, especially women. They ignore women's strong intuition and inner knowing, and label it as a joke. They don't even believe in higher dimensional beings, or wishes coming true. Remember, those who do not believe in magic will never find it.
The world is changing, we are evolving rapidly by doing the inner work needed to heal ourselves. These people who see you as beneath them are falling behind, they are not changing and never plan on changing because they believe their old ways work for them. But they can't comprehend that you are light years ahead of them and leaving them behind, not because you are in competition but because you chose to evolve and remove anything no longer serving your highest good. It is survival of the fittest, and those who know the ability to change, is what will keep you not only surviving but thriving, we are the ones who are ahead of the pack. Those who refuse to change, adapt and grow are the ones who will blame you for all their problems they created themselves. Remember these people are terrified of being alone so they are projecting their own fears onto you. These are the people you aren't aligned with anymore. They will go to great lengths to get back your energy, any energy, they will take, so give them NOTHING. They will look for dirt on you, anything possible to justify why you are the toxic one, but it's not the truth and they are clueless to who you really are.
They play the blame game, they point their fingers, they insult your intelligence, they draw a line in the sand, they think they are nothing in the grand scheme of things, so you must be nothing too. But it's not the truth. It's true that intelligence can be defined as the ability to understand and reason about complex systems and processes, and to make well thought out decisions based on your level of realized consciousness. But there will always be those who refuse to see the truth no matter how intelligent they are. They don't believe in the idea of reciprocity what goes around comes around, because they keep manifesting their own chaos, haters, someone attacking them because they believe that's how all humans are from their limited mindset thinking that's just how life is. "Life is hard, that's the way the world works. " But it's not everyone's truth of reality perception.
But is certainly a common belief across many cultures and religions, what goes around comes around. Karma is a reflection of misalignment. To quote Bashar, "Karma is self-imposed. Karma is broken when you realize that Karma is yours to break. That’s all it is. The realization that you are free from Karma – frees you from Karma. When you know that you are free to determine who you are at every moment, that recognition breaks the karmic tie." You deserve to forgive yourself. You're not doing anything wrong by choosing yourself, and protecting your energy. Always remember that recalibrating your nervous system and leaving these people alone is the best possible choice at this time because saying nothing or letting them know you aren't coming to the party or the lunch is what you need for your body to rest and recalibrate. Its an exhausting time to be alive, so feel what your body needs each now moment.
Only you know what's best for your body in the moment. The present moment and the impermanence of all things is also an important meditation to do daily. Remember nothing stays the same forever and that everything is in a state of flux. This is exactly how we need to approach life at this time to enjoy the future experiences you will enjoy soon. You are always growing, and transforming. Overall, focusing on the present moment and embracing change, romanticizing your life in every moment can be the powerful way to live a more fulfilling and beautiful, purposeful life. Remember, just because you are capable of handling difficult situations and circumstances doesn't mean you should have to anymore, because no one can tell you who are you anymore, only YOU.

Survival of the Wittest
We tend to think of evolution in mostly biophysical terms, but every aspect of life evolves, including the emotional and cognitive dimensions. Of course, neuroscience would say, no, those are “biophysical” as well because they are byproducts of neurological formations. And of course, they’re not wrong; they just, again, assume a partiality as an entirety. They do this because the other aspect of evolution—the conceptual, the mental—has no real physical properties. It’s entirely insubstantial. And hard science hates insubstantial (re: inner subjective) aspects of reality.
But it’s not just the biological structures that have evolved, or transcended prior configurations, so to speak, it’s also the mental memes, the complexity of communication, the ideas built on ideas, the added depth and breadth of conceptual models. This whole aspect of human experience has also evolved based on pressures: cultural, political, spiritual, philosophical, artistic, etc.
Just as the pressures that lead to biological adaptation (evolution) are essentially biophysical, such as the fundamental physiological processes necessary to survive and procreate, the pressures that lead to an idea surviving and evolving over generations are also ideas. They are conceptual; they, these pressures, are themselves “ideas” about ideas that have survived by infesting enough brains, by being passed around and preserved in various ways. In other words, there were thoughts that were deemed important enough (by other thoughts!) to be promulgated, and that led to their continued “survival” and, in most cases, evolution, generation after generation. The fittest wit, for the most part, survives and evolves, mind to mind and utterly insubstantial.

˗ˏˋ ★ ˎˊ˗ Into the Miyaverse ˗ˏˋ ★ ˎˊ˗
Introduction: Hoshiumi Miya is an extraterrestrial character from the planet, Trofí. Her and her family traveled to Earth in hopes of escaping the turmoil on their home planet. Despite being born there, Miya had only ever experienced life on her home planet briefly, therefore, her connection to her home planet is vague. Even so, due to health problems that stem from a synthesization error with her human form, Miya grew up on Earth very sheltered, thus leaving her without much of a connection to Earth and its humanity as well. A lot of Miya’s personal struggles–outside of her physical health–deal with feeling like she’s in limbo between her two identities.
Profile
Name: Hoshiumi Miya (星海 美夜)
Hoshiumi: 星 (hoshi) “Star” and 海(umi) “Sea” Miya: 美(Mi) means “beautiful, beauty, pretty” 夜 (Ya) means “night, evening”
Age: 17
Birthday: September 20, 2099
Zodiac: Virgo sun, Pisces moon, Taurus rising
Sex/Gender: Intersex; fem-aligned nonbinary
Pronouns: She/her
Sexuality: Androsexual (attracted to men/masc individuals)
Height: 182.9 cm (6.0 ft)
Quirk: (1) Ancestral Ki – She has latent ki from all five major sectors of her home planet (fire, water, earth, air, and the core (science, magic, spirituality)); however, due to her body’s natural limitations and it being her strongest nature, she can only tap into her hydro ki. Attempting to use any of her other ki’s or overusing her ki in general takes a huge toll on her body and can result in body pains, asthma attacks, fainting, or potentially, even death–generally temporary, but the potential of her dying for real stays with her.
(2) alien physiology – While Miya usually takes the form of a humanoid alien, she does have two distinct alien forms: her ancestral form and her evolved form.
Miya’s ancestral form is her least favorite due to its “monstrous” appearance. Despite this, Miya is at her healthiest and fittest in this form. This form provides Miya with enhanced strength, agility, durability, perception, and usage of her quirk.
Miya’s evolved form is what she considers her “true form” due to its otherworldly etherealness. Despite its more accepting appearance, this form is biologically useless and serves no real purpose in terms of survival.
Miya’s health issues stem from a synthesization error with this evolved form. Because this form is made of pure ki, it takes a lot of energy to keep up the form, hence why it was adopted by the elites of the Water Sector who had the most power.
Likes: adventure, anime/manga (horror), horror genre, astrology, being in water
Dislikes: dogs, most human foods but especially vegetables
Hobbies: yoga, meditation, tarot, swimming, diving
Favorite food/drink: snacks
Personality: Miya is adventurous, daring, and outgoing. She loves to explore–or, the idea of exploring–and meeting new people. She rejects her family's apprehension with integrating into humanity, proving that she can be quite stubborn and determined to forge her own path and her own way of thinking. Sometimes, her refusal to heed warnings and advice does get her hurt in the long run, which she tends to take extremely hard when it does happen. She dislikes being coddled, and she hates being wrong. She has a tendency to push herself past her limits because of how she grew up being sheltered.
Family: Hala Samir (56), Hoshiumi Tsugumi (56), Hoshiumi Akina (36), Hoshiumi Maki (28), Hoshiumi Maya (17)
Fun (sometimes not-so-fun) Factoids:
There isn’t a lot that Miya is afraid of, and you can trust that she’d jump headfirst into any situation.
She is afraid of dogs because there was a time when she snuck out that she was attacked by wild dogs. She thought they were friendly strays, but they weren’t. Miya ended up shutting down in the attack, but thankfully, Chiba Akira (a future classmate of hers) saved her.
While Miya presents fem and uses feminine pronouns, she doesn’t feel connected to either gender identity to strongly identify as strictly “male” or “female”–much like the rest of her family and her people on Trofi.
Miya loves dressing up in various styles. She wouldn’t say that she is seriously into fashion or anything like that, but once she set foot onto the mainland, she became addicted to trying out all kinds of styles that Japan offered her.
Miya’s assumed human heritage is Afro-Arab American (Hala) and Japanese (Tsugumi). She has other extended family members on Hala’s side that reside in the States (Georgia) and Africa (Ethiopia), hence where the heritage comes from.
While Miya generally loves all snacks, her favorite kind of snacks to eat are anything that is soft and/or chewy. She doesn’t really care for crunchy snacks.
Miya’s meeting with Bakugou Katsuki and Todoroki Shoto was underwhelming to say the least—at least it was at first, but then her and Bakugou got into it because he was being rude and abrasive, and Miya didn’t like that.
When it comes to Class 1-A, Miya ended up being the closest with: Midoriya Izuku, Sero Hanta, Sato Rikido, Uraraka Ochako, and Ashido Mina.
Miya and Bakugou were forced to go on a “bonding trip” to help solidify Miya’s standing with Class 1-A. Aizawa had explained to them that since Bakugou is such a rigid pillar of Class A and doesn’t accept anyone unworthy, they (the HPSC and UA) figured that if Miya managed to gain his approval, it would help her assimilate into UA better.
Due to this, Miya developed a tiny crush on/affinity for Bakugou Katsuki. He seemed to develop some sort of attachment to Miya as well, particularly feeling inclined to look after her as if she were a younger sister.
Also due to the time they spent together, Miya developed a taste for spicy food, similar to Bakugou’s preferences.
When it comes to her trauma in regards to being groomed her entire childhood, Miya struggles with accepting that she has been groomed at all. She gets extremely defensive and will lash out at anyone who dares to point it out.
Miya also struggles a lot in regards to her relationship with her family members, specifically her sisters. The only one that still willingly talks to her is Maki, but Miya feels extreme guilt and rarely responds to her older sister’s efforts at repairing their relationship.

Jon is a wicked and mean criminal man, yes, but he is also someone who’s spiritually an angry, battle-scarred alley cat who maybe, once, knew what it was like to be cared for, but has lost that and now only knows survival of the fittest (or in his case, the fiercest). He runs or bites every hand that lifts to help him and eventually people stopped trying… but I want someone to pick him up and take him home, y’know?
Genuinely I have no good reason for wanting this to be the character that gets saved and cared for and shown scraps of kindness, but A. I just… really love the idea that people who have been turned cold and mean by life can slowly melt a bit with some love and care and B. The idea of someone taking a chance on someone like that and caring for them anyways, no matter how angry or snappish or pessimistic, just does something for my heart man idk.
#like… fave characters just do something to people lol and that’s what Jon does for me#as someone who used to be incredibly angry (stemming from anxiety fear and hurt) I project onto Jon so hard. like not to get deep about him#- but I do a little bit silly as it sounds. obvs I also just really like those tropes too like they’d be my faves regardless but still. Jon#- being cared for by people he would never expect it from just does something for my soul a little bit.

Just remembered when I was talking to this pagan guy at my college about my beliefs on religion, that namely i am not ( cant even say I'm really spiritual ) and I actually strongly believe in evolution and would maybe treat that more as my religion and said "wait is that called Darwinism"
And dude brought up fucking people into eugenics????
Yeah sure that "survival of the fittest" is a really misunderstood take on the whole thing but it was weird to bring up. I don't even bring up the bad religious types when I talk about religion!
People just say stuff when its uncalled for.

Nas - "Rule (feat. Amerie)" - Stillmatic (2001)
Yeah, yeah, yeah yeah, Nas, uh, yo, yo Life, they wonder, can they take me under? Nah, never that, nah, yo, yo
I come from the housing tenement buildings Unlimited killings, menaces marked for death Better known as the projects where junkies and rock heads dwell Though I owe to it my success
With survival of the fittest, everyday is a chal' I would think I'm a part of U.S.A. and be proud Confronted with racism, started to feel foreign Like, the darker you are the realer your problems
I reached for the stars but I just kept slipping On this life mission, never know what's next Ancient kings from Egypt, up to Julius Cezar Had a piece of the globe, every continent
Yo, there's Asia, Africa, Europe, France, Japan Pakistan, America, Afghanstan Yo, there's Protestants, Jews, Blacks, Arabics Call a truce, world peace, stop acting like savages
No war, we should take time and think The bombs and tanks makes mankind extinct But since the beginning of time it's been men with arms fighting Lost lives in the Towers and Pentagon, why then?
Must it go on, we must stop the killing Tell me why we die, we all God's children
World is hating, that's forever (uh, c'mon) It's time that we stand together (yeah, for the world) Everybody wants to rule the world (what, what, what, what, what, c'mon) World (peace), world (peace), world (peace), world
Yo, there's brothers on the block, posted up like they own it That's they corner, from New York to California Got blocks locked down Like, "dog you safe whenever you with me, see this is my town"
So the youngsters, grows in ghettos, goes to prison At an early age, already know it's against him So in order for him to survive, one day he must Open up his eyes to the set backs and rise
'Cause, everybody wants a shot, in this land of opportunity Look at what this country's got There shouldn't be nobody homeless How can the president fix other problems when he ain't fixed home yet
The earth wasn't made for one man to rule alone To all colors increases, to home it belongs I want land, mansions, banks and gold The diamonds in Africa, oil in my control
The world's natural resources, all it's residuals But then comes foes, I have to guard it with missiles And I become the most wanted But is it worth hearing a million people problems and followed by Secret Service
I guess, attempts at my life with loaded barrels So move over Colin Powell or just throw in the towel, yo
World is hating, that's forever (uh, c'mon) It's time that we stand together (yeah, for the world) Everybody wants to rule the world (what, what, what, what, what, c'mon)
World (peace), world (peace), world (peace), world
Y'all know that's my style, to hit you at the right time No other compares to what Nas write down Tell you my dreams, show you my pain is yours You could get what you love, be a chain in cause
You alive right now There's so many that's dead or locked up inside the beast, I'm a hot light now It's whatever man think of manifest to the real The plan is to wake up 'cause time reveals
All this hate can't forever last All my ghetto heroes in Heaven, it's like you right here and never passed You just transcend, I know I'm goin' see you again Hoping I reach the world leaders and win
Ain't nothing without struggle, listen up, it's critical We used to fear arms, now the weapons are chemical In Hip-Hop, the weapons are lyrical To be the best you challenge the best, then the blessings are spiritual
Top of the world for the kid and unless Popping any rapper's head off his shoulders no contest I know the Most High hear me, so fly you can't near me
You scared of a mirror, my theory is that - knowledge is power To every projects and every street corner, we gotta get ours now
World is hating, that's forever (uh, c'mon) It's time that we stand together (yeah, for the world) Everybody wants to rule the world (what, what, what, what, what, c'mon) World
Yo, niggas ain't forget shit, know what I'm saying? Niggas ain't forget nothing Men, women and children killed by the police and shit Niggas ain't gon' forget that, you know what I mean? Yo, what this war just show me is like, whatever you want out of life
Whatever you feel is rightfully yours, go out and take it Even if that means blood and death You know, that's what I was raised up on, that's what this country's about This is what my country is, and my country's a motherfucker

Notes from Nationalism by Rabindranath Tagore
The worst form of bondage is the bondage of dejection which keeps men hopelessly chained in loss of faith in themselves.
Boasting is only a masked shame, it does not truly believe in itself.
The tendency of mind is economical, it loves to form habits and move in grooves which save it the trouble of thinking anew at each of its steps. Ideals once formed make the mind lazy. It becomes afraid to risk its acquisitions in fresh endeavours.
we cannot imitate life, we cannot imitate strength for long, a mere imitation is a source of weakness. For it hampers our true nature, it is always in our way. It is like dressing our skeleton with another man's skin, giving rise to eternal feuds between the skin and the bones at every movement.
we can borrow knowledge from others, but you cannot borrow temperament.
The living organism does not allow itself to grow into its food, it changes its food into its own body. And only thus can it grow strong and not by mere accumulation, or by giving up its personal identity.
The conflict between the individual and the state, labour and capital, the man and the woman, the conflict between the greed of material gain and the spiritual life of man, the organized selfishness of nations and the higher ideals of humanity, the conflict between all the ugly complexities inseperable from giant organizations of commerce and state and the natural instincts of man crying for simplicity and beauty and fulness of leisure-and all these have to be brought to a harmony in a manner not yet dreamt of.
Life based upon mere science is attractive to some men, because it has all the characteristics of sport; it feigns seriousness, but it is not profound. when you go a -hunting, the less pity you have the better; for your one object is to chase the game and kill it, to feel that you are the greater animal, that your method of destruction is thorough and scientific. And the life of science is that superficial life. it pursues success with skill and thoroughness, and takes no account of the higher nature of man. But those whose minds are crude enough to plan their lives upon the supposition that man is merely a hunter and his paradise the paradise of sportsmen will be rudely awakened in the midst of their trophies of skeletons and skulls.
Things that are living are so easily hurt; therefore they require protection.
What is dangerous for Japan is, not the imitation of the outer features of the West, but the acceptance of the motive force of the Western nationalism as her own. I can see her motto, taken from science, "Survival of the Fittest", writ large at the entrance of her present-day history-the motto whose meaning is "Help yourself, and never heed what it costs to others"; the motto of the blind man who only believes in what we can touch, because he cannot see. But those who can see know that men are so closely knit that when you strike others the blow comes back to yourself. The moral law, which is the greatest discovery of man, is the discovery of this wonderful truth, that man becomes all the truer the more he realizes himself in others.
Nations who sedulously cultivate moral blindness as the cult of patriotism will end their existence in a sudden and violent death.
The man who is drunken furiously denies his drunkenness.
Therefore I ask you to have the strength of faith and clarity of mind to know for certain that the lumbering structure of modern progress, riveted by the iron bolts of efficiency, which runs upon the wheels of ambition, cannot hold together got long.
War has been declared between man and woman, because man is driven to professionalism, producing wealth for himself and others, continually turning the wheel of power for his own sake or for the sake of the universal officialdom, leaving women alone to wither and to die or fight her own battle unaided. And thus there where cooperation is natural has intruded competition. The very psychology of men and women about their mutual relation is changing and becoming the psychology of the primitive fighting elements, rather than of humanity seeking its completeness through the union based upon mutual self-surrender.
It is not a question of the number of outside obstacles but the comparative powerlessness of the individual to cope with them. This narrowness of freedom is an evil which is more radical, not because of its quantity but because of its nature. And we cannot but acknowledge this paradox, that while the spirit of the West marches under the banner of freedom, the nation of West forges it iron chains of organization which are the most relentless and unbreakable that has ever been manufactured in the whole history of man.
The people accept this all-pervading mental slavery with cheerfulness and pride because of their nervous desire to turn themselves into a machine of power, called the Nation and emulate other machines in their collective worldliness.
In the ancient days Sparta paid all her attention to becoming powerful; she did become do by crippling her humanity, and died of the amputation.
But it is no consolation to us to know that the weakening of humanity from which the present age is suffering is not limited to the subject races, and that its ravages are even more radical because insidious and voluntary in peoples who are hypnotized into believing that they are free. This bartering of your higher aspirations of life for profit and power has been your own choice, and I leave you there, at the wreckage of your soul, contemplating your protuberant prosperity.
The West has been systematically petrifying her moral nature in order to lay a solid foundation for her gigantic abstractions of efficiency.
The suspicion of man for man stings all the limbs of this civilization like the hairs of the nettle.
The nation's bagpipe of righteous indignation has so often changed its tune according to the variation of time and to the altered groupings of the alliances of diplomacy, that it can be enjoyed with amusement as the variety performance of the political music hall.
When you borrow things that do not belong to your life, they only serve to crush your life.
If a man tells me he has heterodox ideas, but that he cannot follow them because he would be socially ostracised, I excuse him for having to live a life of untruth, in order to live at all.
I persist in believing that there is such a thing as the harmony of completeness in humanity, where poverty does not take away from riches, where defeat may lead him to victory, death to immortality, and where in the compensation of Eternal Justice those who are the last may yet have their insult transmuted into a golden triumph.

The Way by Kevin Pauley
Achimota Date Posted: September 24, 2024
Your duty is to go and preach the coming of the Kingdom of God. – Luke 9:60
There is a village on the Gold Coast of West Africa, called ‘Achimota’. It lies seven miles from the infamous Christianborg castle where slaves were held for the slave ships. Across a wooded hill above the village runs a path trod by thousands of slaves headed for a life of misery. This hill was the last chance of escape before they reached the dungeons from which they would be shipped across the Atlantic. Sometimes slaves would manage to escape the chains a nd would be cared for by villagers. The name ‘Achimota’ literally means ‘Hush, don’t speak of it”.
Today, Achimota is the site of Ghana’s first great college where young people are educated for the future life of the free state of Ghana. The first vice-principal, James Kwegyr Aggrey, was known internationally for his work of racial reconciliation. The crest of the new college bears one of his parables: “On a piano you can play a tune of sorts on the white keys and a tune of sorts on the black keys, but for real harmony you need both black and white.” Its motto, ‘Ut omnes unum sint’ (That they all may be one), calls for one family of diverse races. Achimota College’s goal supports God’s long-term plan for humanity.
We Christians are often told that it is at best in poor taste and at worst bigotry to attempt to “proselytize” others. “It is alright for you to believe that way, but you shouldn’t push your beliefs on others” we are told. But what if vice-principal Aggrey had followed their advice? What if he had simply held to his beliefs about the miscarriage of justice that was the slave trade and had not tried to convince others? What would have happened if each of those villagers had simply believed fervently without acting upon their faith? Where would Ghana be today? Those few poor souls that did manage to escape the slave traders would have starved to death in the bush, dying alone and miserable. All the good things that we have in life have come because someone somewhere had a good idea, a firm belief to which they held contrary to the prevailing view. We are able to profit from their ideas because of their tenacity.
Each of us should try to convince his neighbor of the right view, the right action, the right belief. Is that not the very essence of democracy – survival of the fittest theory – Darwinianism at its best? As each idea is tested, some fall by the wayside, others flourish until they become a veritable ideological forest – providing shelter, food, lumber, shade, holding the water in the ground. Only through spiritual reproduction will we not only maintain but improve the condition of the human race. A one tree forest is doomed to die.
