Being brought under Lord Uhtred's service and surrounded by such talented warriors was intimidating to say the least. Though of all the people he had been introduced to in such short time he had to say that you were one of the scariest

Your face was constantly impassive and often you looked either incredibly unimpressed or were downright glaring. You had some incredibly anti-social tendencies and when you did join Uhtred's inner circle you were often a quiet presence.

You seemed an incredibly odd fit amongst the loud and rowdy crew and Osferth had even said so much whilst drinking with Finan and Sihtric, only to be surprised when they exclaimed you were a perfect fit.

He doesn't see it himself until after a rough training session with Finan. He'd been beaten into the ground repeatedly, never once managing to land a single hit. Though where the boys had lightly berated or even laughed at him, you had done no such thing. It wasn't until he had been left alone that you finally approached and Osferth squared his shoulders, prepared for more scorn. Only you did no such thing, simply correcting his stance here and there and to his great shock, you smiled. At him.

"Don't worry baby monk. You'll get there in time. Finan and Sihtric seem to be forgetting they weren't perfect either." With those words you turned and left, leaving Osferth to wonder if he had hallucinated the whole thing.

The following months go by in a whirl of confusion. With the group you remain a pessimistic presence, though somewhere along the way you have become his stalwart defender.

You indulge his questions and have even on occasion let him drunkenly clamber and hang off you when Finan had gotten him outrageously drunk. He is always mortified the day after but you assure him with a small smile that it was no trouble.

You listen, you never tease him maliciously and even encourage him whenever he is unsatisfied with his progress.

The first time you fall asleep on him he freezes, completely unsure what to do and even Lord Uhtred was surprised. He can hardly stop himself from vibrating in excitement. You trusted him! he wants to cry in happiness.

It gets to a point where whenever anyone wanted you to do something they get Osferth to ask because they've learned if the baby monk asked you'd harness the fucking moon. Sihtric in comparison asks you to do something once and you tell him to go fuck himself.

Osferth is very physically affectionate and he is the only one that can touch you so casually without major consequences.

You think Osferth is the cutest thing ever, and find it incredibly hard not to smile like an idiot anytime you're in his presence. Sihtric, who hadn't learned his lesson makes fun of you and you punch him in the dick.

Osferth in turn loves to wax lyrical about how perfect you are to anyone who will listen, even if it causes you great embarrassment. He won't stop, he just wants everyone to see how great you are darling!

i'm amazed by the energy that antibucktommy people bring to this show like one of the most beloved characters and one of the biggest storylines in the very first season wasn't bobby and the fact that he murdered 148 people including his wife and children and is trying to rebuild his life. it's almost like this show has been saying since the beginning that people can grow and be better and maybe we should give them the space to do that.

anyway buck and tommy were really cute this episode. and there's something so teenage giddiness about them hiding behind a couch for a fake surprise party and flirting that just makes me so happy for the sheer queerness of the experience for buck

This is honestly why I stopped interacting with a lot of segments of fandom over the summer and started curating my fyp and tumblr follows a little more intensely. All of the characters have done horrible things (some more recently than others), things that are usually regarded as unforgivable. Bobby's story is the big one, but Hen's cheating storyline, Athena's many and varied abuses of power as a cop, Chim's really pretty sus relationship with Tatiana, Eddie's fight club era and his treatment of the women he gets into relationships with, Buck manipulating Taylor (like, kind of a lot)...like they've all done terrible things and we have watched them come back from it and learn and grow and change, and love them for it.

I think a lot of it stems from the fact that the horrible things they did were not done to our faves (I'd argue the fandom didn't know Karen well enough during the cheating storyline to not feel inclined to forgive Hen for it) and the fact that the racism and sexism displayed by Tommy at first are such lightning rod issues anyway (as well they should be). And, yes, let's be real, the majority of it is what I'll kindly call disappointment that we got Bi!Buck after all this time, but not Buddie. And that's fair (to an extent...there's NO excuse for the kind of harrassment we saw over the last few months).

But the vitriol displayed towards BuckTommy and the people that ship them is just really outsized in my opinion. The show is going out of their way to show us that Tommy is good to Buck (and friends with Eddie), and that they are enjoying each other. Whether or not it leads to Buddie, don't we WANT Buck to have a good relationship for his first as a queer man? Everyone talks about representation being SO important--we have an extremely masculine characater (who has canonically been presented as a playboy/heartthrob type) discovering a new facet of his sexuality when he's nearly in his mid-thirties, and exploring that facet with a love interest that is EQUALLY as masculine. This storyline is important! It's breaking a lot of new ground and doing it in a really nicely done way.

And in regards to Tommy...I dunno, maybe it's because I've grown up in an environment that pretty much BREEDS men like BeginsEra!Tommy. Yes, they have a choice not to be the way they are--but unless you live in it, it's hard to understand how hard making that choice, or even recognizing that you DO have a choice, really is. I think it's also important to show a character who didn't remain a piece of trash human, and was able to accept that they were wrong and CHANGE. If the only way you can ever be defined is by what you were at your very worst, what is even the fucking point of changing? No one owes you forgiveness, even after you do the work to change...but nor do you deserve to be punished forever.

I dunno, I just wanna enjoy my weewoo show and I'm tired of people harshing my buzz (heh, see what I did there?) I still ship Buddie. I ship BuckTommy. Most of all I ship Buck/Happiness and I am eager to see if he finally gets some that lasts.

What do you hope to get in Frozen 3?

It's probably not surprising at all, but I'm a big fan of Frozen :D the first movie holds a special place in my heart (the opening actually makes me emotional) and while I have a few issues with the second, I'm weak for the Frozen Aesthetic™, the characters and vibe.

I have no idea what the story for the threequel is gonna be, but I do have a wishlist!

A proper character arc for Anna. Elsa went through a great journey of self discovery+acceptance, but Anna's arc never felt... concrete?

Anon! I am so excited to hear from someone who also knows about Sound Horizon <3 Yes, we love it very much! We haven’t listened to their newer stuff properly, and by “newer” I mean anything that came out after Marchen lol so not that new, but I do remember Marchen (+Ido) coming out and how overwhelmingly amazing it was. It still is, to be fair; I’d say this is my favourite album. I also REALLY love Moira and Elysion.

There are a lot of songs that I love (from Roman and other albums as well), but if I had to pick one from each of my 3 favourite albums, I’d say it’s Yoiyami no Uta, Shiseru Eiyūtachi no Tatakai and Ark.

I don’t listen to Linked Horizon stuff all that much, but I adore everything that Revo wrote for Shingeki. Akatsuki no Requiem is probably my favourite from these songs… and Sasageyo, of course.

The majority of my SanHora art is so old, I’m sorry you had to look at it lol One day I’ll draw all of our faves again…

Let’s see… Rook is absolutely the one, he pays attention to hands all the time. He doesn’t like being touched, but loves grabbing hands and caressing his own face with someone else’s hands…

Vil probably has a very specific type of hands that he loves. Manly, but not overly masculine, but strong, but very tidy and elegant? Super specific.

Trey has a thing for tiny hands. They make him physically weak when he looks at them.

Cater also loves hands, and he probably takes pictures of his own hands a lot. He does it just for fun and for the aesthetics of it. Azul adores his own hands. He also thinks Idia’s are prettier than he thought they’d be…

Idia loves either cute and tiny ones or big and masculine ones, and he is in denial about both.

Sebek is also a big lover of hands, but he didn’t figure it out quite yet.

I do, I ship Misheel. I found it very funny that Misha was so quick to use his supposed "best friend's" wife as a subject to one of his nasty, crass, cheap jokes. It showed a lot of who he is, and since no one was surprised, who we expect Danneel to be.

See, I do believe in delulu inbreeding. In the sense that if the delulus all copulate with each other, the delulu gene stays contained (just like royalty, see) and several things happen.

1- Most likely there wont be a continuation of the species, because most delulus are sort of virgins that only have sex in their heads with their faves.

2- The ones that are smart enough to figure out how to procriate wont survive for long, because they usually end up fighting amongst themselves when another delulu says something the others dont agree.

3- Because they start hanging out in groups, physically, the pest control health department can easily gather them and take them to happy farms where they can wear these fancy jackets with very long sleeves and the drugs are very good.

In my opinion, Misha and Danneel could be the King and Queen of delulus, since most of them stem from them. Should this happen, delulus would be happy for finally having a true pairing, and Danneel and Misha would finally feel relevant to a few people.

top 5 headcanons? Your own or just faves!

GREAT question so these are just the ones off the top of my head:

1. This headcanon for Mando teaching the kid sign language, and the kid communicating back

2. Not something I came up with, but I like the idea of Luke having permanent Force-lightning scars as a result of Palpatine using it on him in RotJ

3. Personal headcanon: I think Han Solo would have taken Leia’s last name when they got married: Han (at least in the movies) had no family ties to the name ‘Solo,��� it was the name the Imperial officer gave him when he enlisted in the military to escape Corellia. It’s the perfect description for a smuggler on his own who only thinks of himself and his ship (though eventually Chewie becomes a part of The Only Things Han Solo Cares About).

The most important thing about Han Solo’s character that I think many audiences and even official creators (INCLUDING GEORGE LUCAS SOMEHOW) seem to forget is that Han’s whole character arc is that he was NOT a good guy— He BECOMES a good guy. All of the tension surrounding him in the original trilogy is based on the fact Han Solo looks out for himself. His return at the end of A New Hope is predicated on the audience being surprised that he came back.

Each movie, there was no guarantee that he would stay or stick around when the going got tough. By the end of the trilogy, Han’s character arc has ended with him choosing to be a part of something bigger and caring for people beyond himself and beyond his circle of friends. Choosing to marry Leia means choosing to remain relatively sedentary and present for her (and by extension their family, friends, and the New Republic), and besides, what better way to throw people off the scent and protect yourself from your criminal past than by marrying into the royal and political-leading family?

TLDR: Han takes Leia’s last name after they’re married because he finally has a family he chooses to tie himself to.

4. Personal headcanon: Leia does not forgive Vader for what he became, regardless of whether Luke says he redeemed himself in the end.

Leia not only saw the war he led and the atrocities he committed her entire life, he enabled/directed the destruction of her entire home planet before her very eyes. Leia loves her brother, but she cannot reconcile what Luke says about Vader being a good person with the war criminal she knew him to be.

Bonus headcanon: I think in the sequel trilogy Leia should have been the one to see a vision of her son’s future and she should have been either the catalyst for Ben Solo leaving, or she should have been the one who said she saw too much of Vader in him as an adult and he had to be killed in order to be defeated, while Luke and Han should have been the ones trying to bring him back. Luke’s character in the original trilogy was defined by compassion and mercy even towards one of the worst people the galaxy had to offer, and Han’s character was defined by the people who didn’t give up on him and whose encouragement and support and willingness to see the good in him were the reasons he was able to become a good person.

5. Personal headcanon: I’ve had the idea since 2020 that Mando’s family on Aq Vetina were part of the Disciples of the Whills. I’ve liked the idea of Mando being connected in a non-Force-sensitive way to other lore surrounding the Force, and I’ve based it on the similarities in costume design and because I think thematically, the idea of exploring the Force through a different lens than the Jedi would have made a much more interesting and compelling story in what was originally a relatively independent TV show with new characters on a much smaller scale, exploring different parts of the galaxy.

How I understand the doctrine of the Whills is that it’s more trying to understand the direction of the Force as it tries to find balance in the world, and the result of those teachings means seeing how the Force working in others is what benefits people— In Rogue One Chirrut says “May the Force of others be with you,” which I’ve interpreted as “Yes the Force exists and has an impact on life and death, but because it is the connection binding every living thing together, it’s our choices and the actions we take and the connections we form that exhibit the Force, which are what will ultimately save us in the end.” Chirrut says “The Force protected me,” and Baze Malbus says “I protected you,” and they are both right.

In the context of The Mandalorian, I wanted to see what could have happened if the show diverged from the Jedi, who to be clear were a specific order of Force sensitive followers whose primary purpose was as protectors of the galaxy— The Jedi teachings weren’t just a belief system, they were combined with a martial art and specific learned abilities that were intended to be used to protect people. That doesn’t mean their way was the only way Force-sensitives interacted with the Force.

Long story short, I wanted Mando’s potential ties to a different part of Star Wars lore to be the gateway to exploring more of the galaxy that these stories were set in. I think it would have been a lot more interesting and would have freed up the story to go whatever direction it needed without being confined to the Jedi and prior source material

It’s that lovely time of year again! I’ve taken the ‘absolute’ part of absolute faves very literally, and basically gone back in time to the fics that first made me fall in love with Steve Rogers and Tony Stark. Most of these might come as no-brainers to a lot of the fandom, and have been incessantly recced in the past, but hopefully might come as a delightful surprise to anyone who found this amazing ship in the past few years only. Enjoy! Team Building Activities by valtyr Fury's a beautiful princess. Clint's plotting a Communist revolution. Rhodey's not sexy. Wall-E's not a documentary. Clint's not gay but he does give a great blowjob. This fic is not an AU. Notes: Reading that summary gives me a hit of nostalgia like nothing else. This fic features some of my favourite Tony characterisation of all time - just the way he loves and expresses that love and it makes me giggle and groan and just the whole gamut of emotions. Plus the added factor of being an MCU fic that’s actually pre-2012 Avengers, and just - sold. A thousand times over.

Notes: Favourite, favourite, favourite Steve character study. This fic is what the   Steve Rogers and the 21st Century tag seems to be meant for, and I absolutely adore it.

Notes: Mark this one down as another classic, seminal fic I read when first getting into this delightful ship. Banter, conflict, team-building, love - it has it all <3

A Higher Form of War by sabrecmc Tony is a King with a surprising number of people out to kill him. Steve and the rest of the Avengers are fighting for Pierce's rebellion and end up with Tony as their prisoner. Oops. Basically one of those bodice-ripping romance novels I don't read (ahem) but with far more gay. Notes: A high fantasy AU that somehow echoes the canon arcs that Tony and Steve’s characters go through? I love the nuances in this one, their flaws and their foibles, and yet coming out with some cheer-out-loud moments that I’ll honestly remember forever. Love the plottiness, love the ensemble cast, love everything. America Isn’t Chicken by Amuly After a Civil War, death, rebirth, a takeover by Osborn, brain deletion, and the fall of Asgard, Steve and Tony might just be starting to get back on solid ground with one another. Things aren't perfect, not yet, but they can be in the same room as each other without resorting to violence, and they've even managed to share a smile or two. Seems like the perfect time, then, for Tony to try and fuck it all up with a stupid game of gay chicken.Meanwhile, as if he didn't have enough to worry about, Tony realizes some kind of supervillainous trouble is brewing when increasingly advanced armors start popping up all over Manhattan, looking strangely reminiscent of his tech. On the other side of the world, Steve gets news that Zola is on the move in Russia, with some sort of nefarious plan at work.Which will ruin them first? Will it be this unknown armored villain who is after Tony's tech? Or will it be Zola unleashing his mysterious plan on the world? Or will Steve and Tony prove to be their own worst enemies, destroying the tentative truce they managed to forge with their own stubbornness? Notes: Have you ever wanted a really well-plotted and thought out fic that also, somehow, revolves around gay chicken? Then this fic is one for you. Bond Has It Covered by sara_holmes Tony thought they had trouble getting along when they were dealing with a major global crisis. Apparently that had nothing on how they fell apart when they weren't distracted by smashing aliens. Notes: I love it when characters start out so incredibly at odds with each other, and then move naturally and beautifully to a place of support and love. Be it with Steve and Tony’s romance, or the Avengers as a team, this fic accomplishes that journey so, so very well. Some Things Shouldn't Be a Chore by scifigrl47 Steve takes things like personal responsibility and respect seriously. Tony's got people he pays to take care of that kind of thing, and anyway, he's pretty sure that he's going to die of some exotic disease in his workshop, because Dummy's still a little spotty about what is 'clean' enough to put on an open wound. The rest of the Avengers are in this for personal gain, except for Clint, he just enjoys being a dick. And some things shouldn't be a chore. Notes: This list would be incomplete without a fic by scifigrl47. This entire fic series is golden, MCU Tony’s voice is spot on, and just that perfect blanket of nostalgia for 2012-era domestic Avengers fic when you’re looking for something to re-read for the fifty seventh time.  Love Across The Multiverse by sineala Mojo presents: Love Across the Multiverse! In tonight's episode, a battle-hardened supersoldier finds himself drawn to his handsome, genius teammate! It's an agonizing duel between his long-held beliefs and the secret passions of his heart! Will true love conquer all? There's only one way to find out! Don't miss the highlight of the season!(Viewer discretion is advised. Mojoworld residents who do not vote for their favorite participants of the season will be summarily sent to the arena. All hail Mojo.) Notes: I love Ults Steve. This fic is just so much, genuine fun in a wacky scenario featuring a character arc for Steven across a sex scene, basically. I love how Tony and his considerate, big heart comes across despite being viewed through a slightly unreliable lens and just... love all around, really. A Fistful of Steves: This Town Ain't Big Enough by Raikishi, teaberryblue When Tony Stark takes a bullet intended for Steve Rogers, he wakes up in a world entirely peopled by alternate incarnations of everyone's favorite Star-Spangled Man. AITA for making a social blunder? Please focus on the blunder not the fiction fan parts T_T Gender doesn't matter, we're both 24.

I follow 400+ accounts on twitter, mostly artists. I need to keep some people muted, eg nsfw artists who might end up on my tl at a wrong time, or artists who post a lot of Kpop stuff I'm not into etc. Basically I curate my tl well.

A friend (K) got into a ship a few months ago, started retweeting a ton of sfw-nsfw art, I muted them but kept up conversation otherwise. For the whole of last month tho I was preoccupied and only saw what was on my tl (didn't check muted accounts) and only talked to my closest friends. I also had notifications muted.

Last week I was going around catching up with my other friends who I didn't talk to last month and realized K had messaged me, their usual memes and pet videos, some fanarts. All went ignored for over a month. So I sent them a ship art of their fave character from a lesser known artist (hoping to surprise) as peace offering.

K replied soon, just as usual, didn't mind that I was MIA. At no point did they seem upset or angry during this conversation. Now this is the case. They ignored the ship art at first until I asked if they liked it, they said it was a huge notp and they already blocked the artist. I apologized. They said, and I'm copying, "Nooo it's okay, you wouldn't have known 😅"

We talked for some more and they were still casual. We talked about that ship too. Thing is their fave character in this ship is like the fanfavorite Hole, all other people I know from that fandom ship him with Everyone. So I thought K would like anything I sent. I then checked K's account and found out K only liked one (1) ship with this character and they have retweeted hundreds of fanarts. They've written fics for them. They have also recently talked about why they disliked the notp in private. Later I saw that they were harassed by notp's fans on CC.

Anyone following K for a couple days would know this but I missed it because on top of muting I didn't get to check their account for a month. Made 2+2, they had somehow figured out I muted them and that's why excused my mistake that way. Now I think they were being sarcastic. It made me panic and I felt terrible. I looked at their account more thoroughly, that's how I found the CC anon hate.

After that conversation they're avoiding me? I'm not sure. My new messages are unread, they don't reply to comments much. But they don't seem to be online often anyways and I know for a fact they also keep notifications disabled, so I don't know.

Ship preference or nsfw posting is not a problem so please don't come at us over that.

AITA for potentially upsetting my friend by muting and temporarily ignoring them, then sending something they hate without checking first?

Judar is my fave Magi chara, and JuAli is my fave Magi ship, so I REALLY wanna create plushie designs of them one day, as well as a Tegaki fan-animatic MV... It's my dream 🙏

1st Judar doodle is a planned concept art reference sheet I wanna do for my headcanon design of him wearing black and red hanfu 💞

2nd Judar doodle is based on a Vocaloid song parody with JuAli (Judar/Alibaba) x Unfriendly Hater by Meddmia (drawn by WOOMA) 🖤❤️💛

In my HCs, Judar wears a type of hanfu called Ruqun (襦裙). Ru (襦) is the cross-collared top of a hanfu, and the wrap-around skirt is called Qun (裙). The coat jacket is called Da Xiu Shan (大袖衫)

He'd look great wearing black and red hanfu with white and gold accents~ The black outer coat jacket is slightly translucent, so it'll show the cross collared top's red sleeves through it.

I drew some tentative rain drop earrings for now, but I imagine he would wear gold and red hanfu earrings, and/or snowflake/icicle ones (since Judar is an ice magic user) ❄️

I've been forgetting to post my doodles from my side account onto main, so here you go. I missed talking about my son and drawing him.

I think my art style is getting more refined 🥰💖 The way I draw faces/eyes has been improving steadily! The first Judar doodle was the first time I experimented with an eye style with thicker eyelashes and underlashes! I love the new eye style a lot, so I've comfortably settled into it for the rest of my arts.

I want to draw him in different styles of huafu too, but I made the main hanfu he wears in my HC version, simple to draw (black coat jacket, red cross collared top, black wrap around skirt) with simple patterns, just for my own sake.

The fact that my evil unhinged meow meow pipeline has led me from Kuroha (2013) to Judar (2022) is really not surprising at all.

It's so funny rereading my messages from 2022 when I first read Magi and guessed that he'd be my fave after seeing his 1st CAMEO appearance 😭😂 It's like watching my downfall in real time /lh

Headcanon Design

Judar wears hanfu and hanfu earrings in my headcanon design.

I imagined that he would wear gold and red hanfu earrings, and also snowflake/icicle ones! Silver snowflake ones, and glass icicle earrings would be cool...

So I think I may wanna put snowflake/ice and dragon patterns on his hanfu. The silhouette of a Chinese dragon (ice dragon) would be rad 🐉

I want Alibaba to wear traditional Arabic clothes (white and yellow). I've been looking into it for now, but I wanna draw it soon... I also HC Alibaba to have tanner skin in my HC design

Ohtaka is really good at harmonizing colour palettes (seen with the volume covers). I loooove using teal/cool tinted black when colouring my meow meow mf faves, so this is a treat hehe

Since Judar is from the Kou Empire, which is based on China, I wanted to project Judar's ethnicity onto his design more (since many friends who I've spoken to from my other interests didn't know he was even CN inspired until I told them)

I always take aspects I like from canon and imbue it with my own tastes! I base my drawings on my own headcanons/interpretations of my faves.

Magi is in my top favourite series ever in terms of art and writing. It's generally peak imo

Magi's biggest flaws are the whitewashing, colourism and racial stereotyping (ex. racially stereotyped clothing in the character designs) and some parts of the setting being bastardized takes on SWANA and South Asian cultures, and I've always been critical of that.

Of course, it's totally normal for cultures to do cultural exchanges with each other, but that's not what's going on here.

A lot of EA media feeds into insensitive/distasteful racial stereotypes on non EA cultures, we don't need more of it being perpetuated in fandom spaces. I personally won't be drawing certain Magi charas in their canon clothing designs.

Ohtaka's drawn him (Judar) in hanfu before, it should've been his canon clothes instead.

I love his hair design with the braids sm. I draw him in huafu in my HC design instead as a fix-it for the obvious colourism going on in Magi's chara designs, and also, the charas' clothing designs and parts of the settings too, being bastardized and racially stereotyped takes on SWANA and South Asian cultures.

WIP Shots (Art Process)

I drew these, which I like, but I liked the original best (up top). A few of them have slightly more curled hair strands! I think 1st and 2nd are the best in capturing the vibes, but the others are also interesting to see. I might incorporate some aspects from them when I refine this doodle

I think there's a lot of improvement from my past doodles. I still like this but I'd redraw it (since I feel like my recent doodles are just better drawn versions of this)

Admittedly I'm MUCH better at drawing meow meow mfs, so I haven't gotten the chance to draw Alibaba yet.

I find Judar's spiky hair hard to draw so I'm still trying to decide how I want to draw it...

I love how Ohtaka draws the shape of his braids. I didn't get the time to refine the sketch yet so I just blocked in the shape of his braids roughly with a silhouette (so I'll go fix it later)

I think when I actually get to colouring, though, I'm gonna desaturate the teal tinted black colour slightly

On the 1st sketch pass, I just care about making the face and eyes look good (since it's usually the main focus of my pieces)

Then I just scribble whatever for the clothes.

And then when I go back to clean up the sketch, then I fix everything else, including the clothes

I was rereading the Judar vs. Aladdin fight in the Kou Empire arc and I love how dynamic Ohtaka's art is. I'm in love with the compositions

Ohtaka is one of my main art inspirations of what I wanna draw like someday in terms of technical skill. Her inking is godly.

Ohtaka is BRILLIANT with inking, dynamic battle compositions, perspectives, and colours... Her art is soooo good, it's such visual eye candy.

Ohtaka is brilliant with complex dynamic perspectives and inking. She draws GREAT expressions. Her colours harmonize really well. She's a brilliant author/story writer.

Her inking style is so unique. And it fits thematically too with how Magi is mainly in black and white (black and white rukh)

Since Magi was loosely based on 1001 Nights for the charas' names and parts of the setting, the roc/rukh is a giant legendary bird.

It's apparently a reference to Rukh/Rok (A mythological bird) and Rūḥ ("Essence/Soul")

These are my top fave meow meow mf faves.

My top main faves are all very important and personal to me, just in different ways. So I tie them all as no. 1 ✨

Irt Judar and Kuroha/Saeru, they're completely different characters personality wise, since Judar is mischievous, bratty and playful, childlike and emotionally immature (due to his personality and context), but they have similar~ish designs and a couple similarities, in terms of their basics.

As in, they're both evil black haired meow meow mfs with similar expression ranges, who are bloodthirsty, sadistic, and love causing violence for fun. They have the same Sen-core character type.

They have similar~ish hairstyles (black hair with braids in the back, unique eyes (Kuroha's snake eye pupils and the rings in Judar's eyes), and are unhinged bloodthirsty meow meow mf core charas

(Magi: Ch. 15 - Judar's 1st Cameo Appearance)

Ok I don't think I ever told in full my origin story with this chara, I guess. Basically I was going off the mutuals/blorbo osmosis and just my friends' rambles at this point before I read the series.

And I was reading back my messages of what I sent to my friends at the time

I first read Magi, I think around Sept 2022, two chapters, then started again in Oct 2022 read to Ch. 15 saw Judar and was like. (.) 🧍 This design is Sen core. Don't let me go down like this.

When I first saw Judar’s CAMEO in Ch. 15... I had a feeling.

Cuz I sensed Sen core meow meow mf.

I felt my doom. I knew it... I sensed it with my instincts 😭

WHEN I FIRST SAW THIS PANEL OF JUDAR, I WAS LIKE OH NO... I SENSED MY DOWNFALL.

And then I was like, "Well I made my bed, so time to go lie in it 👍"

Since I saw the charas from my friends' tweets before, can you believe that at this point I was like "Wow I wonder how my would be ship interact together. They're on the same page!!!" 🤸

Kuroha/Saeru took just seeing the Outer Science MV when I was 12 (Tbf, Outer Science is peak KagePro and is one of the best KagePro MVs in terms of visuals and storytelling)

Judar is extremely important and personal to me, I feel this as someone who comes from a similar cultural background to him as well, Judar is EA/CN inspired and so his background and backstory context really makes me feel for him… Speaking personally, as someone who is Viet/SEA diaspora.

Considering Judar's backstory context, and his character arc themes of resentment and grief… Wahhhh ;__; I can mildly relate to him.

Like, ahhh, this character makes me so emotional… He makes me want to cry (in a good way). Emotional tears, cuz this chara is so healing and cathartic for me. I'll punch him out of love! 🫶

...okay, middle option: dropping a broad overview!

The big thing I'm working on is (and I cringe to call it this because I hate this term for some reason, but it's the best term for it) a series rewrite. I wanted something that can keep everything I like from canon while also leaving room for me to throw in some completely new situations that are pretty much incompatible with canon. Plus, I get to look at things that were glanced over on-screen and go more in-depth on those. Also, it's baby's first real ship fic!

(It's actually been so frustrating because a lot of what goes into it are ideas I normally would've covered as a oneshot! But they fit well and help flesh things out, so they're serving better as material for this fic. Downside is I end up with fewer workable oneshot ideas now; hence the minor burnout.)

🥳 Why did you start writing fanfic?

I might've answered something close to this recently, so my bad if I'm repeating myself! I started because (I think it was) my fourth grade teacher told me I was good at writing fiction, and I'm a sucker for being told I'm good at things. I had no idea what fanfiction was at the time actually, but my sister and I were already roleplaying scenarios from our favorite TV shows, so adding in the concept of writing scenarios for my faves wasn't a far jump!

I'm hoping it's long dead and buried where no one can find it ever again, but knowing my mom's tendencies to hoard things, there may be some bad Code Lyoko post-canon fanfiction floating around her house.

💘 Is it easier to write angst or fluff?

Angst, 100%. Reading fluff is honestly growing on me slowly, but at its heart, I find it too unrealistic to enjoy writing much. (Would love to be proven wrong someday! But for the time being, I've seen a lot more angsty IRL situations than fluffy ones, and I'm a big fan of "write what you know.")

I even get the whole oh I hate Max winning all the time, as if we didn’t have the same with Lewis while he was constantly winning.

I’m not even surprised that people forgot what happened last season, two weeks or 5 years ago, I feel this sport suffered from recency bias like no else. But in a sport that lives off stats that are all still public and easy to look up and fucking Wikipedia… well I guess that might be to much to ask of some people.

At the end of the day I just don’t get why people worry so much about things they dislike. Just block everyone and everything and move on.

I completely agree on the fact that people need to chill big time. It's honestly starting to become dreading opening the comment section under any f1 related post because I know that we're going to have the same discourses over and over again. And the worst part is that they are usually extremely biased discourses, so it's not even like the debates are productive.

And same, do I wish to hear something other than the Dutch anthem every weekend? yes. Do I wish to see a battle for championship, or even for p1 for at least one race? Absolutely. But those things aren't under Max's control. He is fast, he wins. That's it. And until any other team can make a rocket ship that can compete with the rbr one, with a driver that can control said rocket ship, that's how it's going to be. And it isn't like we can't appreciate the sport either way, there are 19 other drivers who all compete and try to battle the one before them for their place, watch them.

Honestly, it is sort of crazy to experience the recency bias first hand, and I can barely blame people to fall into it. I'm pretty new in this sport as well, so I cannot pretend to have the best takes when it comes to drivers' performances without looking into other peoples' analysis, but I guess that it is easy to fall into a narrative so well crafted by the big medias.

And as you said, with the stats, and wikipedia, it's easier to fall into it. The first thing I understood when I got into this sport is that every tiny bit of a detail counts in a race : the weather, the performances of the top teams (it's easier to be p1 if the top team is having issues), the performance and the quality of the car (which the driver doesn't necessary have control over), etc. Context is vital in this sport, the final ranking can only say so much. But people ignore it so easily and pretend to be specialists at analyzing the performance of athletes (who have trained their whole life for this sport, by the way) from the comfort of their couch, without taking any of these into consideration. Especially when it comes from a place of bias.
