She’s an influencer! And she‘s actually doing her job, producing content, being invited to things / events on her own (& not as someone‘s plus one & didn‘t she shoot a perfume/ cosmetics/ beauty store ad just now in time for the holidays?)

That’s why I feel her house of cb dress TikTok actually feels „nice“, it’s giving who she is, & therefore it makes sense that H of CB reposted it in their year review. Even the Mexico dresses all fit her (with the first green one being a bit out there), she also sticks to some stable jewelry pieces, that one can find in multiple post on her insta etc. It‘s all a very cohesive outside appearance! Young, french, slightly more playful & feminine.

She also seems to look like a book character, or what some readers envision the character to look like, according to some comments on her TikTok & she’s always very cute about interacting with said comments.

Alexandra on the other hands is just a bit all over the place and very obviously trying to present a public picture that she doesn’t really embody in private, or at least her being all over the place at times gives that impression.

Also as someone who did study art history & now works in a big auction house (without trying to dox myself), her „art insta“ annoys me soo fucking much! At first I was like oh cute, loving the interest in art! But for god‘s sake she’s just so bad about properly naming the title, artist, museum the art works can be found in, and I’m alright with the general person not doing that, but someone who studied art history and is doing the whole „curated online art space“ spiel … that’s the bare fucking minimum! And I don’t even expect a whole new analysis of the art works,I know some people who „greatly dislike“ her took that as a reason to criticize her, but truly at some point you’ve heard ever possible description there is on an impressionist painting. (Though if she’s not even rewriting the museums description a little @museumxyz would be greatly appreciated)

Btw, at the start I actually did comment the artist or museum on a few of her posts. 😐 and another comment she liked 😬🙈 „calling out“ (can’t think of a better word) someone for being all oh your so knowledgeable about art, I’m not, where to even start can you share some. My answer was basically do your own research, look up museums, follow them on social media, find what you like. Don’t even know if the comment still exists (might have to delete it afterwards, as I’m not trying to dox myself). That was pretty much at the start & before her private insta turned public, my analysis of this will follow in the yapping somewhere down there 👇🏻 (I’m so fucking sorry for yapping soo much!)

As to why I think she doesn’t really align with her public person. I guess at the start she just was the next new thing for Charles a replacement fling (cause him & Charlotte have been soo over way before the last race, the vibes had been of since late summer or the public announcement, & that was only done to make it public and avoid any major controversy/ questions e.g. Lando/ Luisa) that’s why she was never really seen until Monaco.

Interlude: What I found really eyebrow raising though is how fast people clocked who she was, like full on name/ insta handle etc. So either herself mostly through some friends or someone who really couldn’t stand her made that public. I mean sure people full on stalk him, but that was a bit too crazy fast. And that one insta account tagging everyone in Charles life, from friend to family & even his management, in posts about a brunette that barley looked anything like Alex, saying she’s a prostitute. That one got blocked pretty fast tough, equally some crazy stuff.

I think by Monaco the fling was more serious for Charles (who as much as I appreciate him as a driver & person, just can’t be single to safe his life), she can be around all the time/ seems to put her life/ family/ friends on the backburner for him. All amazing things to have if one wants to stick to a man who’s job makes him travel 80% of the year. And loose yourself in the process unless your a confident woman, strong woman, who has her own life. Unfortunately that does not apply to most sports wags.

So since it got more „serious“ in Charles version of serious by Monaco & Monaco is always crazy intrusive into his life, he did the nice little APM/ Hello France (was is?) interview & was all „en couple“ giving that whole things some public validation.

Interlude: at that time I found that white Meshki dress video so hella intrusive, now I’m asking myself who actually did film it? Was that really just a „fan“ who happened about her on the street? (And in Monaco there unfortunately enough crazy f1 driver stalkers, do you guys remember them ringing on Charles‘s door?) Because the way it ended up on Meshiki‘s social media Channels (and sure they tend to repost a lot & fans got her crazy exposure that day) got me a bit hm… 🤔

After Monaco with all been there she appeared more, got her name on the f1 broadcast, made her insta public & did a fuckton of ads that were never ads.

And here we finally arrive at the point I tell you why I thinks she doesn’t really allign public & private perception.

Instead of an influencer (like Jade) who’s been working & „currating“ what they stand for e.g. beauty, fashion, life style, etc. She‘s desperately trying to get her hands on everything the various bikini/ dress brands. Now that Rhodes Ad 🙄 … it’s all over the fucking place. She doesn’t show us who she really is. She likes art but gives us the bare fucking minimum about that (see above). In relation to my comment about looking up info yourself, yes it was only early days, but even now she barley really interacts besides ❤️ comments. She’s not sharing any knowledge on art history etc., she doesn’t post on the regular, truly she’s a bad influencer in that regard.

And her privet insta is all „aesthetics“ but she never shares anything truly personal or funny or for lack of better words real

Compared to others more curated girls in the general f1 adjunct circle (Jade) Kika, Flavi, heck even Rebecca or Kelly she’s giving 100% stepford wife. She’s a great nice looking phantasy that you can project what ever you want on. Even when we see her on screen during a race she’s always so conscious about her movements & facial expressions, she never (or very rarely lets go& when she does e.g. Monaco it looks soo acted). The only times she’s not is when she’s not aware of cameras filming her & then 90% of the time she just suffers from a seriously unfortunate case of resting bitch face.

But that’s why she’s soo popular with the fangirlies she’s a nice „doll“ they can project their expectations on, that’s why she got fans. In todays world where, especially younger generation, are all living in eras & TikTok trends she’s the perfectly blank canvas to project whatever on. Truly how many trends has she been in in just two years? We got girly dresses, and hot Latina summer bikini body, TikTok old rich money Monaco pink Elle woods suit, the what ever the fuck that Rhodes thing was trying to be, …

The only consistent thing was Leo, bless that dog, and her being a dog mom. Congratulations on making your whole personality a dog your boyfriend bought.

Obviously she’s a real human and behind her badly curated social media appearance is some one real but for what ever reason she seems deply insecure about sharing that person. God forbid can you imagine her sharing something fun or blooper like. A picture where she doesn’t look good? Girl would rather die.

And with that I conclude my essay on wags. Once again I’m sooo sorry for yapping so much, but I‘ve been procrastinating other more important things. Would you belief if I told you the only thing I wanted to write was same Jade gives more genuine vibes because she’s not pretending. 👍🏻

And than I followed it up with a whole fucking comparison as to why that does not apply to Alexandra 🤦🏼‍♀️ truly giving unemployed behavior even though I actually have to jobs (auction house being only one of them) oh well.

so uhm these are my designs for Finny and Gene. I drew these back when I started reading A Separate Peace in my high-school sophomore year. They’re pretty old drawings. At the time, I only drew these just to have some faces to put a name on (to help me visualize easier idk)

Well fast forward, my class finished reading ASP and I have been an ASP addict ever since.

okay erm thought process of these designs:

Finny-

i tried to make him as book accurate at possible but ngl i actually i thought he was a red head before i looked up what he actually looked like. I genuinely wouldve believed he was a red head if i didnt looked it up (yes im referring to the ppl propagating redhead finny)

i gave him very sharp features and a somewhat messy hairstyle to symbolize his wild nature but also neat enough to get him by in school.

His shirt usually untucked or hastily put on. Most times he has his coat off or unbuttoned

he has some freckles and moles too YAY

Gene-

made him the most basic looking guy with the most basic features: black hair and brown eyes (okay ik his hair looks blue and u can barely see his brown eyed but i was limiting myself on colors GSSSYSHDHHSHA )

ofc i HAD to make him the complete opposite of Finny. His features are more squarish and rounder. because he always does random 90° angles out of nowhere

his hair is more neat and put together compared to Finny’s. It’s very structured to be square shaped. i like to think he uses a little bit of gel but it’s not a tight slickback. he lets his hair go loose bc he wants to follow Finny’s footsteps and be wild and free too 🤩🤩 yet he can’t help but follow the standard of having a neat slick hair and ofc follow school dresscode 🤷‍♀️

his fit is also more put together. he always makes sure his tie is neat and his coat is buttoned up most times

i gave him a mole :)

this was a fun one to make cuz he literally never describes himself in the book💀💀 i find that really interesting tho. perhaps it was on purpose so readers can relate to Gene more by emotion and not feel distanced by physical features

(yea i obviously put in a lot more thought into Gene’s design than Finny’s)

FUN FACTS YES THERE’S MORE:

honestly thought Finny was a latino and/or hispanic cuz of his tan skin. (im well aware white ppl can look tan and not be a hispanic but also hispanics and latinx could also look pale white i was lowkey a little ignorant back then 💀.) idk maybe he could have some hispanic blood 🤷‍♀️

do not mind the messiness and low quality, i did this in the dead of night on a note-taking app called Notability

that last note may sound absolutely unrelated BUT WAIT! I actually have a whole stock of ASP Notability doodles! More to come!! maybe…

Wheel of Time 2x2 and 2x3 thoughts

Follow up to 2x1 thoughts posted here:

Very scattered since I watched the episode yesterday, these are just the things that still stick out to me in no particular order:

Liandrin having a son - first reaction was a bit of disappointment that Nynaeve didn't catch her out doing something obviously shady (though I guess she can't if they're going to keep most of the plotline from TGH intact).

I strongly support the idea of showing Aes Sedai having families and outliving them - the idea from the books that all sisters just abstain from that aspect of life seemed so unrealistic and avoiding a very interesting topic - but I originally thought Liandrin was such a strange choice to have that reveal with

But after sitting with it for a bit I began to wonder if her son came about through...non-consensual means, and that's part of why she hates men/wants to have so much power no man can ever hurt her

I like that they kept the creepy flies and the scene mixing past/present together in the slaughtered village. Still not entirely sure what Perrin's visions are (originally thought the wolves were sending it to him but that seems less likely for the vision in the house) but I don't think TGH had a good explanation for what was going on there either so 🤷‍♀️

Introducing the Seanchan through Perrin's storyline is an interesting choice, since I think he has the least to do with them until book...11? Also I'm not sure of Perrin's location at this point - if 5 months of tracking Fain have put him close to Flame or if the Seanchan start casting a wider net from the outset in the show than in the book. (given that they're carting them all off to Falme and wouldn't bother doing that if it was a long way off, I think I'm leaning towards the former)

If the girls (and maybe Min/Mat) take the Ways to get to Falme they could cover the ground over a couple of days that Perrin's needed 5 months to cover, which leaves Rand needing a way to get there quickly...maybe we will see the Portal Stones after all

(I thought I saw a portal stone in Nynaeve's last test - more on that in a sec)

Hmm I can picture Mat and Min choosing to follow the girls to Falme after reasoning out that Liandrin must be Black Ajah... however I desperately want Nynaeve and Elayne solely to orchestrate Egwene's release from the Seanchan so...idk

I love the Mat/Min teamup so far, another pairing we saw very little of in the books that has a lot of potential.

Not sure what to make of Min's vision about Mat though? Is this a "possible future" thing to prove that her visions can be fallible? Will Mat fall under the dagger's sway again? Is the vision somehow extremely misleading? Haven't seen any speculation on this yet

Interesting that Min is being set up as someone who can't entirely be trusted though, with her essentially acting as Liandrin's spy on Mat. She has reasons (had a vision of Mat hurting the man she's destined to fall in love with, Liandrin has promised to let her go, etc) but it's still an interesting set up.

How did it take me this long to get to Elayne!!! I kinda wish she knew less about the Tower because she's acting a bit as an info dump to fill in gaps around what Egwene doesn't know yet but the scene where she takes 3 months punishment to avoid handing that punishment over to someone else! Her first weave being one to make alcohol! What a girl

I really liked Nynaeve's accepted test for the most part but I thought they dragged out her fakeout a tad too long...though seeing Egwene lose it was worth it tbh

Still not entirely sure what was going on with the weird flashing sequence where Nynaeve saw herself as Red Ajah? And then how wobbly the arch seemed in the third vision when it showed up only briefly...I'm tempted to say Liandrin fucked with the test but she seemed genuinely distraught when Nynaeve didn't come back

I guess she could be a very good actress though who lied outright to Egwene... doesn't sit right with me though

Nynaeve bursting through the arch cradling her non-existent daughter and immediately having a mental breakdown hurt so much though

I've always thought the arches present parallel worlds much like the Portal Stones and I think Nynaeve's third vision especially backs this up (a world in which Egwene becomes Aes Sedai, she and Perrin settle back in the Two Rivers and Mat I'm Not A Bloody Lord Cauthon still gets tangled up in becoming a lord)

Back to the Seanchan, they've been done SO WELL so far, everything about that scene was horrifying. Suroth talking through her voice, Uno being brutally murdered (that really did surprise me), and the gathering up of the girls who can channel...not to mention seeing Ishamael standing so prominently beside them

Which is a choice I really like bc if I'm remembering correctly Ishamael did work on corrupting the Seanchan during the brief periods he was free before, so making it obvious that he's influencing them is a good move

Ishamael also gives Perrin a real reason to fear becoming a wolf brother...lying out of his ass but Perrin is already scared enough that he falls for it

Hopper!!! Good to see him in the real world but I'm assuming this means I'll have to watch him die some point soon and I'm not ready for that

Verin and Adeleas confirmed to be sisters so my wish for the Grieving Sister scene can still be fulfilled! Tbh if Adeleas is killed by the Black Ajah while Verin herself is Black Ajah...that could lead to some delicious story choices

I loved the costume design for the Cairhein ball, so very 18th century France, immaculate vibes

Somehow I completely missed that Rand's Horny Dream was actually being influenced by Lanfear entering his dreams so thanks to whoever pointed that out

A mental hospital for men (gentled men?) who have gone crazy is a cool idea that took me back at first because there's nothing like it in the books but on second thought...why not? Why shouldn't there be a place for those who have no other choice but to die?

Now I'm imagining that Rand heard about this hospital and traveled to Cairhien specifically to work at it and see the end result for men who can channel and try to help them while he can before he becomes one of them

I loved the fireworks! I feel like for show-only viewers that would've been such a "wtf" moment since nothing else in the show indicates that gunpowder exists yet

Rand throwing the first invitation he receives in the fire...oh boy, the game is just beginning

1x07 background details:

In the opening flashback sequence that shows Harold’s backstory, he had a cereal box and if you look closely you can see that it’s Clever Crisp Cereal. 

Five is not present during Harold’s flashback.

I’m not sure how many of the siblings titles are confirmed in-canon, but in the flashback you can see fan made posters/signs with “Spaceboy” and “Seance” on it.

There’s also a poster in Harold’s things that has a Rumor Has It pun for Allison so that likely confirms her title too.

Ironically, by humiliating Harold and sending him back home to his dad, Reginald created both the fuse and the bomb.

Harold had a suitcase. He got all dressed up in his uniform and “came all this way” and jumped the fence and told Reginald about his birthday because he wanted him to adopt him so he wouldn’t have to live with his abusive dad anymore.

Harold stole the Reginald doll/action figure in 1x06/1x07 because it was the only one of the set he didn’t have as a kid. Also, he made Vanya a little wooden figureine in 1x03, which almost symbolically completed the set for the whole family.

I’m not sure what the other book is, but Harold has A Series of Unfortunate Events amist his things.

I have a hard time reading Reginald’s handwriting but it’s dated 2001 and it’s about Klaus and the mausoleum. 

This really isn’t a background detail, I just find it hilariously ironic that Five says “we have to find (Harold Jenkins)” and he’s literally in their house at that very moment.

It just makes me sad no one noticed that he kept holding his side and winching.

Five limps through the whole episode and checks his side at least 3 times.

Diego starts stuttering when he’s talking about Eudora with Chuck behind the police station.

This is a slightly ambiguous and questionable detail, but if you listen closely it almost sounds like Five grunts quietly in the background while Allison calls Vanya and whispers something that sounds (to me) like “I’m okay”

Luther: I sacrificed everything for him. My entire life. I never left this house. I never had friends. And for what?

I wonder what the inside joke is with O Captain My Captain, because that poem is actually quite sad.

I’m not really sure what Cha Cha’s feelings towards Hazel were supposed to be, but earlier in the series she says they agreed to be “in it for the long haul” and it’s Hazel’s “simple life with a partner” speech that makes her decide not to shoot him. He talks about the birds that mate for life and about how the male brings the female food. In the next scene Hazel asks her if she’s hungry and she says “I could eat.” Perhaps that line was there for her to misinterpret. Idk 🤷‍♀️

IM SORRY BUT FIVE IS VERY OBVIOUSLY LIMPING AND GRUNTING WHEN HE GETS OUT OF THE CAR AND USES THE STAIRS FOR SUPPORT SOMEBODY HELP HIM PLZ

In both versions of Wednesday, Grace calls Diego “Diego, dear.”

When Klaus hits his head and ‘dies’ you can hear a bell toll in the background. Bell tolls are generally associated with death because they’d toll the church bell when someone died.  (“for whom the bells tolls”)

The barber shop where Klaus finds Reginald is called Nite Owl Barber Shop

On the door it says “barber banter may offend”

The portraits behind the barber chair are of Luther, Diego, Reginald, Dave, Five, and Ben. There are more pictures on the opposite wall, I don’t know who the other two men are, but the bottom one maybe almost looks like Vanya? More specificly one of her Extra Ordinary photo shoots? Idk, just a thought.

Cha Cha calls Hazel “shitheel” when she wakes up handcuffed

Diego hits the seat in the holding cell he’s in after getting arrested for Eudora’s murder. So basically yeah, I think sometimes he hits/punches things when he’s distraught.

Okay but I love the way that sequence of where all the siblings are at the end is cut together. You see the eyeball on Five’s desk as he sleeps and after that it immediately cuts to Vanya and it’s revealed that Leonard’s eye is missing.
