quietly going mad abt this guy again because the Narrator IS a good game maker!!!!! he isn't an especially good writer of complex stories but he IS good at games!! and implementing new concepts and quickly making improvements to designs!

i think when he doesn't think things through, the parable itself forces other aspects into the things he does make, bc it has its own very specific needs in mind to get TSP played (so when he makes the Starry Dome, it makes an Exit that causes him pain and resets the game. when he makes the Skip Button, it makes that thing an aspect of conflict and "choice") but it DOES let him make things! he's allowed to build on it! he's allowed to make it his!!

(because to me, the game isn't actually his design, he didn't make The Stanley Parable, even if he doesn't know that at first. the game is its own living set he's been allowed to manipulate.)

I just. I think it's interesting and wonderful that the Narrator has strengths in certain areas but he takes it for granted, he finds it secondary to "his story" that he acts is perfection itself but ISN'T all that great. I think he could do so much if he realized how special a trait this is!!!!!!!!!!!
