OC lore rambles and Thee Implications for the wmom au in my head where Adrian is just there now. (Spoilers!)

I definitely need to reread the ending at least, but the stuff about that god that vane used to serve has some interesting comparisons to the meta lore of all my self insert ocs

Because all my self inserts are technically all the same person. They/it is actually a primordial shape-shifting chaos god (who's true name is also just a sigil) that can travel between realities and occasionally takes a mortal form to fuck around in the stories it loves. Which is exactly what Adrian is, a vessel made by that god solely for the purpose of play-acting as a priest, and it spiraled massively out of hand, too much of the god stayed in him and now he's independent of the power that made him. Which happens sometimes, with various other vessels. If they're lived in enough they achieve self actualization, leading to a situation not unlike the trinity in Christianity, several aspects that are separate but also part of a whole. The problem is that Adrian has no fucking clue about any of this, and thinks he's just a regular human. He is Catholic, deep down whether he likes it or not, and learning that he is not human, his memories up until about two years ago are all false, the reason his parents never talk to him is not that they had a falling out when he persued the priesthood (hes an only child, they wanted grandkids) but because they never existed, that he has no real origin, that he was made as a toy by a monsterous beastial god- it might just break him. (Ok that last bit would be, uh, distracting in a different way but yknow.)

But i think being on Swallows Rest, which is heavy with a very similar kind of power, might drag up some weird feelings for Adrian, causing some very fun drama, and unlock some hidden abilities he didn't know about. Namely the shape-shifting, because I am a horrible pervert and wanna watch Lord Vane's monster form get into a fight with Adrian's/[redacted]'s monster form 👀
