Hi! I'm Athina. I make supraliminals.♡

My path has taken me from studying Joe Dispenza's books and lectures on subconscious reprogramming to Dr. David Hawkins' method on releasing emotions and trauma stuck in the body. I've studied the law of attraction and the law of assumption according to Neville Goddard. During my 8 years of practicing meditation almost every day, I've honed my focus and tried any proven - and trendy - technique there is. (Existential Kink by Carolyn Elliott might be my favorite.) I've also learned the basics of Kundalini practice, but for now I respect it too much to continue further without a teacher.

Call it SATS or the void state, manifestation or inspired action, I know it works. In the end all of these lecturers and gurus are all getting at the same thing: our personalities are more malleable than we think, and the changes we can make in our lives are also easier to execute than we think.

I also wholly believe in taking action. Subliminals, supraliminals and meditation are all great tools to change our lives - but in the end, life is made for living, not for visualizing 24/7. I want to advocate a healthy balance in these practices so as not to fall in the traps of spiritual bypassing or unhealthy coping mechanisms. I made this blog to share ideas with likeminded people. Hey, look. Here's the intersection of philosophy and how capitalism and politics are fucking everything up.

Horvat: Then Günther Anders introduces the term "supraliminal", which can be understood in opposition to the "subliminal", it is not below conscious attention, but beyond, and he said that the atomic bomb was the best example of the supraliminal, something that It's so, so big, you can't really understand it. Something that has consequences that are beyond our understanding.

To research the book I visited Chernobyl, and when you get there you see that the catastrophe still has its effects, not only in Chernobyl but also in Bavaria, where you still have contaminated soil, and you see that the supraliminal does not care about borders. Like a virus, it doesn't care about the politicians who are actually contributing to the catastrophe, which is no longer just the nuclear age, it is the climate crisis. It's the pandemic, it's a combination of all these threats that are becoming so big that people get lost, they get depressed, they think there's no way out and they can't really understand what kind of consequences the system we live in has – I mean capitalism – will have in 5,000 or 10,000 years, which it already has, which it already had, especially in Latin America.

García Bernal: But that's the key to how your book changes you, it changes your perspective. It throws us into this kind of interpretation of the Apocalypse, first of all as a kind of acceptance in the sense of its basic etymology, the Apocalypse as "revelation," a kind of "now we can see" moment. We talked a lot about this during the pandemic, about what happened. Remember that very strong feeling of trying to understand what was happening to us, that things were going to change. We were trying to understand what was going to change and what was going to stay. And in that peculiar moment the only way was to move back to the moment we were living in to understand what comes next. And it is at that moment that the concept of the “supraliminal” becomes powerful. The first time I heard about the concept of "supraliminal" was in an article by Brazilian journalist Eliane Brum, and she talks about the supriliminal as a cause of our anxiety, a block to seeing and moving forward. In the article, she says that it's good to feel bad, because you hear the voices, you hear the sensation, you hear the supraliminal, which you can't understand or capture because it's too big. And I immediately asked myself, when had I experienced the supraliminal? ... after seeing a picture of it and the effects it had, I immediately understood. And this was the tsunami in Japan. ... [Eliane Brum] understands that the supraliminal is also a call to action, it is a call from the jungle, from that silent voice that is telling you something ... the supraliminal not only as a power that prevents us from realizing what is happening, but at the same time also as a kind of call to action? 

Horvat: Absolutely. ... a catastrophe does not necessarily have to end in depression or melancholy, but it can also be a call of the wild, a call to action that can end in transformation. It is always interesting to look at previous planetary catastrophes and how they have led to major social transformations.

[The] fight for meaning is the most important fight today. What we have today is no longer just financialization, we have something that contemporary Italian philosopher Franco Berardi "Bifo" calls "semi-capitalism", which comes from "semi-" which refers to "signs" and capitalism. It is the current form of capitalism that is based mainly on the creation, reproduction and manipulation of signs. The best example is Elon Musk, he tweets about a cryptocurrency and it gains value after a tweet. Thus we can see that words not only have meaning, but also have effects in real life and today the situation is even more dangerous precisely because of the acceleration of technology, a nuclear war can be provoked through Twitter. But at the same time, hope lies precisely in this new phase of capitalism, in the cracks that already exist and that we can widen even further. 

It is by using signs and language, and giving them new meanings, that we can create a better world. 

There is a famous line from Alice in Wonderland, when Alice asks Humpty Dumpty how words can mean so many different things. And Humpty Dumpty replies, "The question is who should be the master, that's all." That is semi-capitalism.

A quasi-related Google search brought this November 2023 transcript of a conversation between Croatian philosopher Srecko Horvat and Gael García Bernal. They've been friends for years, apparently.

I don’t like to talk about my personal life a lot on here so to preface, i have an eating disorder & have experienced hair loss from malnutrition so ive been losing some hair volume. this has lead me to manifesting healthier, thicker hair.

doing things to keep my hair out of my sight like keeping my hair back or avoiding mirrors & looking at myself in photographs helps “keep me on track” when manifesting so im not pulled back into the 3d.

there are so many things being fed to you through television, social media & marketing that are designed to keep us distracted & insecure.

── .✦ making my own subliminals has helped me so so much. that way, i have control of what im consuming — like i mentioned above briefly. while affirmations like “i have no ___” & “i don’t ___” can work for some, focusing on the desired outcome helps me the most.

for example: “i have no acne” vs “i have clear skin”. one is focusing on living in your desired outcome, which is where you want to be.

people don’t love it when i say this, but most subliminal on youtube aren’t actual true subliminals. subliminals are audio converted to frequency. most of them are sped up affirmations — which is fine if that’s what works for you. im not denying that they don’t work & you can’t get results from them, but subliminals help me more rather then supraliminals since they aren’t as distracting for me.

monitoring what music i listen to. ｡𖦹°‧

── .✦ this is kinda like the limiting social media usage but lyrics can sometimes clash with what you’re trying to achieve & can influence a poor mindset. music has the ability to effect mood & im not saying you can’t manifest if you’re depressed or u happy but thinking positively is definitely has an influence on you & how your perceive circumstances.

make sure you are able to picture yourself receiving your manifestation. it’s the “pregnancy analogy”. when you’re pregnant, you have to prepare for a baby by purchasing clothes & supplies & thinking up names. be ready to experience it, prepare for it & expect it to happen.
