UPDATE: Hey tumblr. My boyfriend had a biopsy the day of his scheduled surgery, and it had confirmed that his cancer had spread. His surgery was cancelled to schedule him more tests and get put on immunotherapy.
Tests came back confirming he is stage 3.
Bills are starting to come in, and he has not even had his surgery yet, nor immunotherapy started. We are begging for any help at all.

Any shares and support are so truly appreciated. Thank you.

Wait, so... John Wolfe (a seasoned horror & adventure game Let’s Player and streamer) was just harrassed by T#RFs, transphobcs, and other conscrvativcs following a highly successful charity livestream ... where he cosplayed a favorite character of his, Lady Dimitrescu.
Wild. I don’t get it.
Anyway, now he’s released a video telling those people “good riddance”, saying he stands with his trans and nonbinary viewers ... and he’s planning to do a charity livestream for Trans Lifeline, in the face of the misdirected hate speech he received (for respectfully cosplaying a character). This is THE best “”“controversy””” I’ve ever seen, holy shit. Net positive.
Following that... Heck, to anyone interested in indie horror Let’s Plays, and/or Dead By Daylight,  I highly recommend his channels (YouTube and Twitch - the latter being where he fundraises for various charities, and where he’ll be supporting Trans Lifeline in the near future).
Might be strange to plug someone else’s channel, but I just think everyone deserves to be respected by the content creators that they spend finite resources on ... so here’s my random, wholehearted recommendation to fellow horror fans (though, he sometimes plays non-horror games too)
(Note that this isn’t his first time demonstrating his support for LGBT+ people, but it is the loudest, in the most uncertain terms, and specifically occuring in the wake of bigoted backlash, so I think it’s worth celebrating and getting out there.)
(He’s also been fairly vocal regarding stigmatizing plots in horror games that negatively affect disabled people, which is just... SO rare, especially compared to the scope of the issue. I know, I know, beware of over-respecting strangers on YouTube... but he’s making it hard, lol.)

I was contemplating very hard whether I should post this, but I felt that it still needs to be addressed regardless.
I am not sure how many people actually reads my post because based on my notifications, not many people reacted to them, but I believe that there should be a good number who does bother to read it.
What I am going to cover here will be very sensitive as it is regarding the LGBT and a case of sexual assault. If you are uncomfortable with either or both of the topics, then I suggest you do not read it.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
For many of us in the gaming community, we are aware of two major news that were screaming at us within the week. First was the release of the highly anticipated game, Hogwarts Legacy, which became a nightmare experience for some; and the other was the firing of Genshin Impact’s Tignari’s Voice Actor (VA) Elliot Gindi.
Let me address the Genshin Impact news first because that is shorter.
Tumblr media
(Picture Source: Game Rant thru’ Google Image Search)
To be honest, this was not very well known since it was only announced through the Twitter channels from the various Genshin VA cast accounts.
Elliot Gindi, the VA for Tighnari, was fired due to his preying on underage girls. Now, I do not want to go into specifics since this is more uncomfortable topic for some. If you want to find out more, you can go search for it online.
Of course, his actions warranted a lot of anger, disgust and disappointment from his fellow cast members. The cast members removed any schedule they had with him in the future. I am not sure if the other VAs did this, but Zach, the VA for Aether and Mooncarver, took down the video interview he did with Elliot from his YouTube Channel.
It goes without saying that Mihoyo would definitely be sourcing for another VA for Tighnari.
------------------------------------------------------------
Tumblr media
(Picture Source: Playstation Store thru Google Image Search)
The thing about Hogwarts Legacy goes back to the time J.K. Rowling, the author of the famous Harry Potter books, tweeted that she does not support the transgender community. Of course people were outraged by that but it kinda died down after a while.
Then, came this game, Hogwarts Legacy, that brought back that issue again. Why? Because anything to do with Hogwarts, or Harry Potter, or anything from that wizarding world, people associate it with J.K. Rowling’s tweet.
There are people who are trying to cancel this game and they even said that anybody who purchased and downloaded the game are transphobic. Moreover, I have heard about a group (or someone) created a website where they can track the big streamers who downloaded the game, and what they did next was just terrible. They would go to that streamer’s streaming website (like Twitch), and started bullying the streamer into tears just because the streamer downloaded and played the game.
-------------------------------------------------------
What I want to address is basically the same message for both games.
The character (Tighnari) or the game (Hogwarts Legacy) DOES NOT REPRESENT THE WRONGDOINGS OF THE PERSON.
Tighnari is not Elliot Gindi.
Hogwarts Legacy is not J.K. Rowling.
Those two are INNOCENT.
I can understand the victims not wanting to associate with the said character or game because they personally felt offended or went through the trauma, but for the rest of us! We need to understand this point!
If you want to support your fellow friends who are the victims, then go ahead. It is good that you are showing your support to your friends. But, please, don’t force others to do the same when it has nothing to do with them. Don’t spread hate online by going to the player’s socials and bullying them to tears.
If you want to argue, then let me ask you this.
Will you blame a child for the neglect of his/her parents?
Will you blame the dog for its erratic behaviour because its irresponsible owners never taught and trained it properly?
Will you blame your neighbour because you forgot to bring in your laundry when it starts raining?
Remember, IT IS OKAY to still like the character. IT IS OKAY to play the game.
There.
I have said it. 😤

The hatred for F1nn5ter is ill placed.
Ok, so this post is about the cis male twitch streamer F1nn5ter but I will be talking generally about the entire femboy community as a whole since the issues people raise with F1nn5ter are issues with the community asa whole.
So, for those who aren't really in the loop, what is the contension between femboys and trans peole. Well it boils down to 2 main problems;
There exists sub-culture which partially overlaps femboy community which I'll call 'trap' subculture which believes that all trans-women are just femboys.
Femboy culture has deep roots connecting it to many transphobic ideas and stereotypes.
I'll be discussing both.
'Trap' subculture is undeniably transphobia, problematic, and full of objectification. My first note is F1nn5ter is not a part of 'trap' subculture is distinctly not a part of 'trap' subculture, he's been very openly pro-trans and done many things in support of the trans community including raising $50,000 in a charity stream for GenderGP, an amazing pro-trans organisation.
My second point is that 'trap' culture is one of the more progressive forms of transphobia since it does challenge patriarchal gender roles and is playing a part in dismantling the notions of a sex-based binary gender system just to no where near the same extent as the lgbt+ community. Not justifiying the subculture but it really isn't trans communities biggest issue.
The second point is more complicated since its a part of femboy culture as a whole and not just a subculture. This is also the main critisms of F1nn5ter. My opinion on all this is when peole bring up stuff like this, they're engaging in in-fighting. Yes lots of the femboy culture is in bad taste but engaging in territorial discourse is only going to make everything worse.
I also think its important to note is that femboy culture isn't transphobic, but the manner a large part of femboy culture engages with there identity mirrors and sometimes takes from transphobic ideas by virtue of the complex relationship being trans and being a femboy have with each other.
But F1nn5ter is aware of this and still engages with in these parts of the culture rather than straying away from it? That is true and this is were the discussion gets complicated. F1nn5ter isn't problematic because their existance is a massive middle finger to the idea's of the binary gender. By being a straight cis man who looks and dresses like a women, he is activly dismantling dillusions of the gender binary. He does engage with femboy culture in a prudish manner but the overlap between people who watch streamers like F1nn5ter and people who could be persuaded to transphobia by some jokes in bad taste is incredibly small.
I understand entirely if you find it uncomfortable to watch his streams but that applies to any content creator, you cannot expect everyone to find a creators work palatable but the critisms of F1nn5ter seem to stem from the natural lust for every content creator to be infallible.

Thought it’s likely worth starting to post these on here too!
Hi! Outside of animating, im a Vtuber over on Twitch.
After a 3 month break, im re-debuting. Because of the silence the past few months, ive lost a good chunk of my traction!
If you like silly little VRChat streams, as well as art, animation and being an absolute nuisance, consider following me on Twitch and keeping an eye out for the official debut date in March! (You’d also be supporting an LGBT Disabled streamer, which is pretty cool i think.)
You can also keep up with live updates over on Discord, which you can find a link to on my Twitch.
Hope you’re all having a good day :3c

thoughts / rant on sapnap signing with kick
right i am going to use this as a post to rant about the situation.
i am angry. i am angry at sapnap for making an incredibly idiotic deciscion. i never really was a fan and i do not follow or support him now but that doesn't mean his decision doesn't effect me and the communities around me, as a member of the LGBTQ+ community and as a part of ranboo's and tubbo's fanbases.
I am not one to really voice my opinion (especially on twitter for fear of death threats and potential doxxing from the side of the dream fandom who are known to do that) but I am deeply upset by what has unfolded.
Sapnap signing a deal with Kick has been a punch in the gut to quite a lot of people seeing as Kick is a platform that uplifts and provides an unmoderated "safe space" for hate speech against all marginalized communities, particularly the trans, jewish, and black communities.
The amount of hatred against people on this platform is absolutely unreal and even more unbelievable is that the Kick CEO and other company employees are aware of it and say they don't like it and would like to see a change as if they aren't the ones in charge and the ones who signed Aiden Ross (after he was permanently BANNED from Twitch) and made him the face of the platform when he is a disgusting individual who raises a community of hatred and bigotry.
They are also promoting gambling and are sponsored by Stake which is an offshore online gambling company. Their TOS doesn't cover shit and they don't moderate what their streamers are doing on this platform. Aiden Ross has streamed literal PORN where anyone underaged could see. Many people get away with streaming illegal copyright stuff like XQC streaming Breaking Bad and another streamer called Brucedropoff streaming the show The Boys (illegally. this is highly illegal and they could be sued) but Kick seems to have done or said nothing about this.
It's an absolute breeding ground for hatred against anyone who isn't a cis straight male, or even white. It's full of racism, anti-semitism, homophobia, transphobia, the absolute fucking works of bigotry and hatred. I could not care less if Sapnap thinks he is going to try and change the platform for the better, he has a responsibility to his community and a large portion of his fanbase are young and impressionable as well as black or other POC and trans and other lgbtq individuals. He owes a certain amount of respect and responsibility to his fan base to not work with a platform that has a heinous reputation for discriminating against anyone and everyone that can be discriminated against.
It also is refreshing to see creators such as Tubbo and Ranboo fully speak up about this and not censor their language. They are both fully outspoken against this deciscion and anyones decision to move to Kick. They are both 100% anti-Kick, as they should be.
They both have every right to be upset by this and dislike the platform as they are both LGBTQ+ people, Ranboo being trans non-binary and gay and Tubbo also being queer. They are both queer people who are allowed to be angry.
Ranboo does not deserve any of the hate that I have seen them receive as they have, MANY TIMES, spoken up about the hatred and rampant racism in their community. They have made it well known they do NOT support this in any way and are actively against it and they do not make a safe space for this behavior. There is only so much they can do to prevent this, like banning from discord or twitch chat or blocking on socials but they have addressed this MANY. MANY. MANY times in the past and present and have made it clear they do not in any way support these so called fans behaviors. They have donated to many charities supporting black and other bipoc people as well and trans charities and other lgbt and disabled charities. I have been a fan of Ranboo for a very long time and they have done nothing but try their best to support their community and the people within. So if you're mad at Ranboo's response can you kindly take your head out of your ass and have some common sense.
And a message to those who still think tubbo is or ever was politically conservative (or a tory) I implore you to actually go back and watch tubbo's alt streams (vods) as of late and even longer. While this obviously does not excuse his past behaviors he has since many many times expressed his deepest regrets and sincerest apologies for his past behavior and has said many times that he recognizes that he came from a place of ignorance and he did not educate himself on many topics before speaking out about them but he has since learned to think before he speaks and actually take the time to learn about something before he voices his thoughts and opinions on them and if he does not know enough in the moment he will literally say that he does not know enough about the situation to use his voice about it. I have also been a fan of tubbo for many years now and I have been disappointed in his past behavior and hold him accountable and in no way excuse it but anyone who actually cared to learn and look would see that he has grown exponentially as a person. He never was a tory and has even said why would he be a part of a political group / view that wants to take away his right to marry someday?
Anyways I have said a lot on twitter and wanted to just write more on here because I am angry and hurt and upset at the situation and upset that a streamer which such a diverse fan base would sign onto a platform that is actively against a lot of his fans. Quite disappointing.
Now remember to listen to this discriminated groups, listen to us LGBTQ+ folk, listen to black people, listen to jewish people, listen to trans people, listen to women, listen to other bipoc, listen to the people who are actually being affected by this, not the cishet white male streamer who sacrificed his morality for more money that he didn't really need because he's already a millionaire.

Visible Pixels: Representation in Gaming and Esports
Tumblr media
nanobomb my beloved
Gaming: what is it? Who does it? Why do my kids ask if I have them on my phone? Video games as a medium have come a long way from Pong: games today have multifaceted storylines, more pixels than there are grains of sand on Earth, and most importantly for today’s discussion, characters and players of various intersectional identities playing together. For a scene that is normally seen as heavily male-dominated, Clement (2022) reports that the demographic of gamers these days is evenly split between male and female gamers; Henderson (2020) states that 10% of gamers surveyed also identify as LGBTQ+ to some degree. Now, what does this demographic change mean for the gaming community as a whole?
Firstly, recent games have been delivering a lot of representation: Webb (2022) cites numerous examples of representation of strong women, LGBT+ characters and ethnic minorities in recent video games as diverse as the non-binary Bloodhound from the battle royale shooter Apex Legends and Krem from the medieval role-playing game Dragon Age: Inquisition. This representation also has its depths: as Kamen (2016) discusses, Overwatch revealed one of its heroes, Tracer, as lesbian with a 12-page comic on her relationship with her partner. The presence of these characters provide individuals from these backgrounds with a fleshed-out character that they can relate to and feel seen through; this also serves as normalising and supporting their identities to the gaming community at large, to an extent.
Tumblr media
Within gaming communities, while a heavy masculine bent remains, there are efforts to bring about spaces in gaming for marginalised communities. In the competitive scene for Valorant, a 5v5 team-based first-person shooter (a genre considered heavily male-dominated), organisations such as Galorant and the developers Riot Games have made steps towards creating events for women and other people of marginalised genders: this has led to the first international women’s LAN championship for the game being held recently in Berlin (Robertson 2022). MacDonald (2022) also reports that there has been an increasing fanbase for queer Twitch streamers and queer gaming Discord servers where LGBT+ people can meet and team up to game together. In essence, this helps provide a strong community aspect for many of these gamers who may be otherwise isolated in less-than-conducive environments for people like them, whether that be online or off-line.
However, the patriarchal nature of the online gaming community does rear its head every now and then: players who pick characters who are written with LGBT+ identities can often get homophobic slurs thrown at them, while some level of fetishization occurs for some of these characters, especially from men towards female lesbian characters (Nesseler 2022). Black and Latine gamers are targeted for cyberbullying based on their race (Peckham 2020). A level of misogyny and queerphobia permeates a lot of the general gaming space, with epithets relating to these aspects of identity thrown around willy-nilly.
In conclusion, the gaming sphere possesses numerous benefits for marginalised communities, despite its generally male-dominated demographic. However, the marginalised that do participate in online gaming often face discrimination and negative impacts that are not felt by most gamers. Thus, the communities formed by these individuals are more so a mechanism through which they may continue to enjoy the positives of social gaming while avoiding the pitfalls that the general community has.
