Hank was stressed beyond anything he’s ever felt before, watching you lay in the hospital going through withdrawals. He never should have let you go undercover, he knew it was dangerous but he still let you go. He’ll never forgive himself.

His self-pity is put on a hold when you cry out on pain from your bed. Hank swore he was going to kill every last one of those bastards who forced that drug into you. They were going to die a slow an painful death. But he’d have to plan that later.

Right now you came first, Red Ice was a bad drug to come down from. It made you feel like your entire body was on fire and covered in glass. Perhaps the worst part to watch is you sweating it out, the red from the drug comes out in the sweat, making it look like blood. When Hank first saw you covered in the red sweat he thought you were dying.

In that moment his heart felt like it was going to shatter again. He couldn’t lose you too, you were one of the only things keeping him here.

Your kindness, your smile, everything about you was so innocent and pure. He couldn’t believe you wanted to be a detective, this line of work was going to chew you up and spit you out.

Hank had often thought about taking you away, somewhere you could be you. To a place where the world couldn’t destroy you or take you away like it took Cole. But he always told himself that you could take care of yourself, you were strong, that you wouldn’t die like Cole did.

But this, this was the last straw.

Watching you cry out in pain as your body forced the drug out was too much for him. He didn’t want to leave you when you were so weak, but he had to, he had plans to make.

Once you got out of the hospital you were coming with him, if you liked it or not. You were going to be protected from now on.
