au where tubbo is a tiny in a human-heavy school (tinies are welcome but they aren't exactly very common) has to show new students around the school. thankfully, one is tiny.

very quickly, tubbo becomes friends with this ranboo (tiny) and tommy (human) duo, and eventually goes to their house.

but something is off as soon as he walks through the door, he can just feel it. and while it isn't his place to poke around in, he still hates that out-of-place feeling as their entire family talks incredibly vaguely like there's some terrifying secret to be kept from newcomers.

eventually, tubbo does learn it though. superpowers.

except I am no longer five and I still ask questions and somehow people misinterpret except it's literally everything I say. I AM DOING EVERYTHING RIGHT, WHAT MORE DO YOU WANT FROM ME??

You ever think back to how annoying it was to be like 5 years old and being frustrated about how you know exactly what you're trying to say, but you lack the vocabulary to express it, so you're just stuck trying to repeat the words you do know with different tones in hopes that one of them would make it click and people would understand what you've been trying to say this whole time?

Like trying to ask adults hypothetical questions like "what would happen if clouds were cotton candy?" and what you're trying to ask is "if clouds were made out of sugar instead of water (which I know they are not), how would it practically alter the way they function?" and adults would just answer "no, they're made out of water." And you're stuck repeating "yes, but IF they were", and they're stuck repeating "no, but they are not", and you're at a loss of how to explain the concept of "hypothetical question" to an adult, who clearly doesn't seem to understand what a hypothetical question is, and you don't know the word "hypothetical" because you are literally five years old.

One of my favorite things about Stargate is that every time there's an incoming wormhole in the first two seasons everyone goes into immediate crisis mode, and then after that it's like "oh, incoming wormhole, must be one of our pals."

It's like their caller ID goes from 100% calls about their underground supersecret military base's extended warranty to like 90% people on their friends and family plan and only 10% telemarketers. Unfortunately those telemarketers are usually Anubis and that dumbass head hologram he does or Ba'al running his mouth for shits and giggles but. Also I mean Sam and Daniel literally compare the gate network to a telephone in 1x02 so.
