Scam Posts PSA

Recently over the past few weeks, I occasionally get asks for donations or sharing donation posts. While I'm happy to help, I begin to feel odd about some of these asks, especially if other users claim that they are scams in the notes.

The most recent one is this from @/superbpatrolprincess:

There were people in the search who tried investigating this user and other possible scammers who send these kinds of asks. The user @kyra45 had tried contacting them about the validity of their claims, along with the fact that the ask was suspiciously similar to another ask made by @/aniasiasstuff.

By a suggestion from another user, I tried contacting the user about their donation post. But they blocked me shortly after. The pinned donation post on their blog was posted on July 10th. I failed to get a screenshot of that before they blocked me, but the earliest post in the search for superbpatrolprincess was made on the same day that post was made where the scammer contacted another user through asks.

Due to this, I'm not going to share any future donation/mutual aid posts if the user sends me an ask and if their account was made very recently.

Also, let me know if there are other donation posts that have similar odd activity, please. I usually share these as I don't have much to give, but I also don't want to put any of my followers or other visiting Tumblr users in danger.

It has came to my attention this user blocked someone who messaged them asking them for further information regarding their situation. This is not acceptable behavior for someone spamming asks claiming to need support. Unfortunately it’s very common in this situation for scammers to block people who ask them a simple question so please do not donate anything to this user as they have made no effort to verify their claims and now may be blocking anyone who asks them for updates/better info. The message they had got was simple and just wanted an answer. Blocking someone who just wanted to help by getting clarification is too often a sign of a scammer who doesn’t like getting questions. I too had requested the user to supply some form of being legitimate but was ignored.

Below I will post the ask and the other account that they claimed was theirs but blocked someone who had asked about it. The account sending similar asks was aniasiasstuff.

Blog was asked to provide images proving their legitmate but have never gotten back to me or posted anything requested. Blog does not show any images and they claim the account below was originally theirs but they no longer can access it and the new blog doesn’t mention this one anywhere.

Im posting this as a warning for this account and if they ever provide any evidence their legit I will edit this post with the provided information. They are sending out asks likely to anyone sharing popular posts. Be careful until they have provided evidence of needing support as I do not have anything to fully confirm their scamming yet.

For anyone who is curious, here’s the proof of the reused ask the only difference is the account urls.

I have nothing definitive to say scam, but it’s already pretty suspicious to reuse the same ask as before with no changes to it at all. This ask was from a while back. The other is recent.

@superbpatrolprincess Can you explain something? Was aniasiasstuff you? I’d ask you on your blog, but most tend to ignore any asks that get sent and you’ve been spamming asks on a nearly empty blog. Please provide some evidence that your a real person such as writing your url on a piece of paper and holding it.

Your ask is basically almost the same word-for-word paste of theirs but with more stuff added on like you wanted to make it sound more realistic.

(I have my doubts the blog will reply to this. But I’m asking them over here so they can’t feign ignorance when the public can see I did ask. Nothing rude is stated here, there’s no accusations, just a question. Reblogs are off so only they can reblog it but if I get no reply later I’ll make a new post.)

Because I asked that same person to provide proof and they never did it all the while spamming asks to random internet strangers.

So I’m just gonna go ahead and say it’s a scammer since they made no attempt to explain away everything I stated. Nothing I said was false accusations.
