Here's Xing and Shakes (who is mostly trying-) Lion Dancing!! :D This artwork was meant to post on 29th January, but of course, time wasn't on my side- So Hopefully two days late is still acceptable to post this- (Apologies for the photo quality as well-💀)

Also, here's another interesting fact, this was not meant to be a Supa Strikas fanart, it was meant to be an illustration for my Mentor, who does celebrate Chinese New Years, which to display for the occasion. My mentor told me we didn't want a complex sketch/illustration, just something simple. So the sketch was scrapped. But I liked it too much to sit on my sketch book, so I decided to make a Supa Strikas Fanart, dedicated towards the celebration. :)

As somebody who doesn't celebrate the occasion or does Lion Dance, I tried my best on my research to be as accurate as possible with it. To the outfits Lion Dancers wear, to the color scheme, to the design of the lion itself. Again, this was a scrap sketch, and my original idea was people lion dancing since it's well know to lion dance in Chinese New Year, as well as weddings (if I'm not mistaken), and other celebrations. That being said, who is very much isn't raised with the cultural, I can very much make many mistakes and misinterpreted the culture. For that, I will forwardly apologies if there are mistakes I've made or never caught on when making the artwork. I appreciated if anyone who IS familiar with the culture would correct me if there are errors to be corrected! And I will update on this post! 👍

DISCLAIMER: That being said about errors- The only mistake I notice I made is Xing holding the Lion Mouth when lion dancing. Yeahhhh... NOT THE CORRECT WAY TO DO IT- 😭😭 The correct way to do it actually is hold it's head from the INSIDE, not it's mouth. I notice this when I was almost finished coloring- 💀That's VERY MUCH MY BAD on my part-

When I started watching Supa Strikas there were a few characters I assumed were American that absolutely were NOT. I had never watched the show as a kid so keep in mind this is what I was thinking during like maybe the first 6 episodes? Idk, it was before Technicali showed up tho.

1. Cool Joe

I saw his Afro, Pic ( aka his "power comb" WE KNOW IT'S A PIC, CALL IT A PIC!!), heard his voice, and saw his love for jazz and thought. "Oh hey.. African American representation, fuck yeah." Turns out dude's Brazilian though so yeah, that was a fun thing to find out from a piece of fanart that was probably posted on deviant art ..

2. North Shaw

Yeah this fucker also had me fooled when he started beefing with the Hydra team. He started whipping out surfer slang and I went "Oh okay ... So he's the California surfer boy stereotype? I can get with that." ... He's Australian. That fucker is a god damn Aussie. Wanna know how I found out? THE SAME FUCKING DEVIANT ART FANART!!!

3. Hydra Fc (Yeah I know..)

Uh huh, yep, you heard right. I was so stuck on the American surfer stereotype that I just assumed Hydra was an American club. I know, stupid thought. But that's what my brain assumed.

HIM. THIS MOTHER FUCKER IS AMERICAN !! I HAD ZERO CLUE. Maybe I had just missed something at the time, but when I found out I just couldn't believe he wasn't like the "Stereotypical American." Yeah he eats a lot but nothing really pointed out he was an American to me. I find the cool.

Also I went on twisting tigers wiki cause I was bored, and uhm.. Who the hell was in charge of working his wiki?

maturing is realising that other teams exist outside of the supa strikas lens. like… let me give you an example. you need to understand how exciting it is to imagine the other teams going through their own hijinks. whether it’s internally, ala “heels over head” with skarra overcoming his injuries in “perfect match” or externally w each other.

imagine how hilarious THAT would be!!!!

other teams commencing psychological torture onto each other. like forget the supa strikas guys, how will iron tank use espionage against invincible united??

ever since “klaus on inspection” i truly wonder what kind of dynamic iron tank has w invincible united bc i would argue they are both the most offensive, on AND off the court. i can definitely picture skarra calling out uber on natter over his smelly b.o.

who does capitalism better? cosmos or the sultans?? sorry buddy watkins got nothing on THE sheikh!!!

Happy Birthday to one of the dazzling and radiant Silver Lions captains, Trent ArcCoil! I did want to have this digitized but motivation escaped me before I could do anything.

I had also wanted to draw him interacting with several Super League members, those including Skarra, Dingaan, Meda, Skipper, Caleb Judge, Lankey, and his teammates Sean, Shermie, Jill and his husband Oliver. I don’t think I could get those sketches done after my work, but if I do end up making them then I’ll post it tomorrow.

Also, I think I’m getting the hang of it when it comes to eyes, might just have to bring them closer later on. And the shoulder pad designs for the uniform, I think I’m liking where it’s going.

Spent today with art block, wanted to draw something before I went back to school but couldn't think of ANYTHING. Decided to watch my favorite Supa strikas episode (Training Daze) and remembered I still haven't introduced the 3 other Supa strikas OCS, so here we are with number #3 !

Lin or "L" aka Ghost

L is the youngest (age 14) of the friend group and lives with Flame and Flare. They (unlike the others) are the only one with barely interest in soccer with the sport they play being fencing. L only went to Technicali because of their interest in tech, becoming an intern for a soccer team was never a part of the plan. The only reason they haven't left is because of the drama they hear (it has nothing to do with the fact they've gotten attached to the team, why would you even think that!?).

Quiet as a mouse, as inconspicuous as a ghost L is usually hard to sport even if it's just them in the room. They're set to graduate early and are taking some of "Profs" classes, although because of how lazy they are, their grades in Gym might get in their way. Usually they get home before the twins and does their best to not look suspicious (Although they wouldn't care if they were found out). Only L knows what everyone in the group is hiding, which helps them when spreading rumors for Toni.

They're not related to Toni, they just call any "old person" by those titles.

orion fc headcanons

no one writes for orion fc i am here to change that <33, also this is severely meda biased im sorry he's so hot :((

considering how little orion actually appears in the show they're probably the type of team to keep out of the media, OR most of the media surrounding their team is around coach black since he's quite the established astronomer + still pretty well revered in the scientific community

the boys probably prefer keeping out of the spotlight cause it's easier for them to just focus on playing and has them feeling free to take up whatever side hobbies they wish without the media sniffing up their ass

but the team definitely goes on those museum field trips whenever a new space concerned exhibit pops up, i would say the entire team is pretty interested in space/astronomy but meda himself wanted to be an astronaut one day which didn't entirely pan out so he lives his dreams vicariously through coach black's training methods

it's because of this that they respect coach black, he's taken years of study on the stars and countless galaxies they couldn't even think of. he's literally adept at launching rockets into space and living in one, who wouldn't admire that? (if only he wasn't a cheater, but they follow him anyways due to them seeing his tactics as "scientific development")

they're deadass just a team of well-built nerds who happen to like playing football. meda does decently well in press conferences but put any other member in front of the mic and they might trail off from the game to actual space facts or something... (call it the coach black influence i suppose).

meda doesn't really understand the seemingly bloodthirsty rivalry some teams have off of the pitch, like yeah he trash talks opponents sometimes (i say sometimes cause orion literally only appears like once/twice a season or never at all, who knows he could be trash talking all the time) but he limits it to ON the pitch only.

all of them are introvert leaning, they just play up the attitude for the cameras. coach black tells them to act competitive and they literally have no idea how so they just resort to shit talking.

the entire team probably has a big gap moe thing going on where during games they aren't afraid to shittalk their opponents but off the pitch they're completely friendly and polite, just average joes with a lovely little french accent peeking through at times. overall very gentle guys!

they think they're so clever by picking their player names after constellations/space related things but off the pitch they call each other by their real names cause it feels a little silly after awhile. (they don't even bother sticking to meda's name it's only adromeda to them during a match)

i swear i knew some of the other players + the goalie's names but i forgot them :((((( im being a fake fan rn

they're definitely the types for late night picnic dates where they drive to a place with no light pollution so they can stargaze. the types to guide your hands making you point at stars while you lay on their chest or something.

the collective casualwear aesthetic for the team is either comfy sweaters/cardigans or business casual polo and khakis no on between, dark academia leaning. some of them need to wear glasses too but they just wear contacts during games despite the risk. (meda in a cardigan and glasses please see my vision of him as a soft library boy...)

all of the players' individual social media accounts are private and the pictures literally only consist of a. practice days, b. pictures of the night sky, and c. if they're married/seeing someone they share pictures of the dates they go on sometimes.

they share the public orion fc natter account and that's about as public as they get. if you manage to get into one of their private accounts it's a literal orion fan's treasure trove like holy shit there's so much good behind the scenes stuff there.

the team is essentially one little fandom of space nerds where they can talk about constellations and are genuinely rather intelligent in regards to astronomy whether it's from self-interest of picked up from coach black. they construct and discuss well thought opinions on new scientific happenings together, they would literally have a discord server and have different channels for the various phenomena they discuss;

[andromeda: hey guys! i know you're discussing the revised black hole picture recently uploaded(super exciting i know!) but this is the star sign channel where d'etoile talks about horoscopes! if you could move over to #space-photography🌌 that would be great!]

yes meda is a discord mod, i do not regret this headcanon at all.

anyways a small throwaway headcanon is that d'etoile phinus (their goalie) is super into horoscopes and gives his teammates concerningly specific but also weirdly accurate readings on what might happen throughout the day, and always carries his horoscopes lucky item around. (probably has a cute boyfriend but i won't get into that)
