‘Bachelor in Paradise’ Stars Jade Roper and Tanner Tolbert Selling $3M SoCal Home

Jade Roper and Tanner Tolbert, stars of “Bachelor in Paradise,” are selling their blissful home in San Juan Capistrano, CA, for $3 million.

The couple, who met on the reality spinoff series in 2015, married in 2016, and have seen their family expand over the years. They welcomed a third child in November, and may also need to expand their living quarters.

The home was purchased in 2018 for $1.61 million, and its markup may speak to the custom touches that the couple have added to the cool contemporary build from 2017. The master closet is so spacious, Jade reportedly gave birth there to their son Brooks.

The couple opened their home to People magazine in 2019, and revealed that they had worked with the decorators Caitlin Wright and Hannah Rodriguez of Realm Design Co. to bring a “’cool, earthy California’” look to the Orange County abode.

Their stylish choices are apparent in the home’s listing photos, and it quickly grabbed the attention of a buyer. After just days on the market, the home is already in contingent sale status.

Private and gated, the five-bedroom estate opens to fountains that flank the front doors. The 4,408-square-foot floor plan features a center interior courtyard with a fountain and loggia, which brings natural light into the interior spaces and blends indoor and outdoor living.

A sunny great room boasts vaulted ceilings with distressed wood beams, wide-plank French oak floors, and six sets of doors to the outdoor entertaining areas.

An adjoining gourmet kitchen features a large center island and breakfast bar, quartz countertops, and stainless Thermador appliances.

There’s also a guest suite and a powder room on the main floor.

Upstairs, the master suite has a deck and sitting area, as well as an opulent bathroom with soaking tub, walk-in shower, and the famed walk-in closet that has doubled as a delivery room. The upper level comes with three more bedrooms with walk-in closets and en suite bathrooms.

Other elements of the home include the highly designed office with its squiggle-print wallpaper and mod light fixture, a laundry room, and a three-car garage.

Set on a quarter of an acre, the outdoor oasis expands the living space outside, and comes with a fire pit, cabana with outdoor kitchen, barbecue, refrigerator, TV, sound system, and retractable overhead awning. The professionally landscaped space offers mature olive trees, low-maintenance artificial turf, and outdoor lighting. The spread also sports a saltwater pool and spa.

Located within the gated community of Oak Farms, the luxury home is one of 32 residences among coastal oaks, grassy fields, and an equestrian center.

The couple met as castmates on Season 2 of “Bachelor in Paradise,” the summer spinoff of “The Bachelor,” and quickly fell in love. A whirlwind televised courtship continued into real life, and they married in 2016.

Jade co-hosts the podcast “Mommies Tell All” with her fellow “Bachelor” alum Carly Waddell. Last year, she made headlines when she scored first place with the DraftKings Millionaire Maker event, banking $1 million that was later revoked, on the grounds that she had cheated. Tanner’s day job is selling cars.

The Basics:

This Crazy Life

If you know me, you know that I often call myself a very #luckyboy and I am not shy about counting my blessings. I thank my stars that I am able to basically, blow into a saxophone for a living. Gracie (aka Lady Sax) bless her heart, puts up with this crazy, often awkwardly scheduled, musical life. She accompanies me to just about every gig, patiently watching me do my thing and give my time and attention to just about everyone but her. She also comes along to student recitals, staff dinners, and even some last minute “pick-up” gigs. It’s almost embarrassingly  wonderful to have that kind of support and it makes all the zaniness worth while.

After a nice, mellow Friday evening of cooking and relaxing, Saturday was more typically hyper. I taught lessons in the AM, sped home for a quick bite and a short nap, then got everything packed up for a Dallas School of Music staff dinner followed by a Captain and Camille gig at Tolbert’s in Grapevine, TX.  As we headed out of Wylie a little before 6 PM, it was sunny and hot in our area, but the sky looked ominously dark and cloudy to the west...right in the direction we were headed. 

Just as we got to dinner the skies opened, thunder clapped, winds whipped up, and a good old fashioned “gully washer” ensued. But we were safe and dinner was yummy. And as we chatted with faculty I realized that I’m the “old guy” now, starting my 23rd year of teaching at the school. In fact, there are a few students on my schedule that have been with me nearly that entire time! 

We finished up dinner and headed out for the show in Grapevine. Our Map App suggested we use all back roads and as we meandered along the way, we noticed lots of power outages and policemen keeping an eye on a few of the more dimly lit intersections. It was, evidently, a pretty substantial storm, but we made it to the venue safely and with a few moments to spare.

The place was packed but we somehow scored a parking spot right at the stage door. There were tons of familiar faces ready to get their fill of some smooth 70′s, Captain and Camille style, including one of my students of 13 years, Erika Barr (aka the Rock Goddess) who snapped the picture above as she shared a dance with Lady Sax. By all accounts a good time was had by all and as a bonus, Darren, the new sound man at Tolbert’s, made the evening sound great for both the band and the audience...win-win.

On the way home I made it a point to thank Gracie for coming along with me on this crazy ride. We shared yummy bagels at about 2:30 AM and finally crashed around 3. As I closed my eyes I realized again that I am indeed, a very #luckyboy.

Summary:

On the 12th hour of the first day of October 1989, 43 women around the world gave birth. He didn’t get Sunny.
