he'll accept these things, because he doesn't want to be rude, but it's still awfully embarrassing . he has no idea how he scored someone like you

he wants to scream into his pillow whenever u show up to his house with his favorite drink/food

tries to go all out and hand-make you gifts for your birthday and such but he feels bad since it can never out-do your gifts

he's kinda scared you're gonna betray him and you're trying to get on his good side or something, so it helps if u reassure him you just love him a whole lot

AUBREY

she doesn't get it, why would you do something like that for lil old her??

but she cherishes everything you do for her to the fullest extent.

she spends a lot of time at ur house and has lots of sleepovers with u to get away from her own home life

she rlly thinks she doesn't deserve you. like at all

tries to take you places and pay for your meal but she can't do it all the time, so she makes the most out of every date and trip

gets embarrassed if u show up with a gift and just hugs you until she isn't flushed anymore,, she can't have you seeing her face!!

she doesn't have a lot of money so she really appreciates everything u get her, especially food

gobbles on any food u get her or dinner u buy,, she isn't passing free food up!!

he'll be awfully confused every time you randomly show up with something he's been wanting

if you buy him food or take him to GINO's a lot he'll try to cut down his order to make you pay less but gobbles it all up

gets embarrassed if u ask him if he wants anything else,,, like stop !! spending!!! money!! on! me!!!!

"haha, no, i don't wanna make you pay more... wait, where are you going?!"

he tries to tell u not to get him anything but he is a big growing boy that needs his nutrients. he gobbles up whatever you buy so you know none of it went to waste

he accepts your offers and gifts gladly, but not without hesitation!! he hates being a bother

HERO

he's also confused. why are you buying him all of this?? cookbooks??? new, fancy silverware??? paying his dogs medical bills??? what the fuck

he's actually kinda skeptical about it at first,, like what if you're breaking up w him?? are you trying to soften him up so you can backstab him?????

but he realizes that's stupid and awkwardly accepts anything u do/give him. he gets all blushy about it and starts stuttering though

he spoils you back. to an extent because your family is richer n all that, but he still tries to spoil you by getting you gifts and flowers and chocolates and stuff you like/need

it's weird to him because he's usually the spoiler/gentleman in the relationship,, so he's lowkey swept off his feet

he would've done that for you anyway, but now he has to do it extra so it isn't unfair!!! he feels like he's taking advantage of you or something

MARI

she always denies everything u do/get for her,, but she'll eventually accept it and kiss you on the cheek as a thanks

like SUNNY she doesn't think she deserves that kind of treatment,, you shouldn't be wasting your money so fast like that!!

she does love the romantic aspect,, like if you went on a trip together all alone and romantic,, or if you show up to her house with flowers and chocolates and... is that a diamond ring?

it gets her all blushy but she tries to hide it by being devious and teasing u,, then she goes home and goes crazy over you in her room

BASIL

he's constantly telling you not to spend any money on him

he tries to spoil you back by giving you home-planted flowers and drawings and pictures, but he never feels like it's enough

sunny has these weird dreams of this strange looking kel in situations that resemble things that could happen (all relating to suicide or sh). somewhat reminding him not to fall for the happy persona kel presents most of the time. (because angst)

hero spends some nights with mari playing ghost chess or playing piano because I don't think ghosts can sleep

Hi apple nonnie! I'm in a mood for some good ol fashioned Sunburn. I probably won't be writing any burnt sunflower because I see Basil and Aubrey as siblings more than anything I can't see them in a romantic sense, but I love me some Sunny/Aubrey! Here take some cuteness from future them. I write a lot about the immediate future but this is adult them

Aubrey and Sunny are the couple who have been together forever. Most of their friends don't even know them before they were 'SunnyAndAubrey'. It's pretty much just the hooligans and Hero, Kel, and Basil. Other than that everyone around them just sees them as a pair. That's mostly because Sunny is always going to be ridiculously quiet, so Aubrey does the majority of talking for the couple.

They got together sometime in their late teens, and never separated. They never had that typical break/get back together relationship, it would have been painful given their pasts. Aubrey still has some issues around feeling abandoned, and Sunny's years of seclusion still leave scars. Besides, they're both fairly blunt people, so any arguments they have are quickly resolved.

Sunny has gotten a little more outspoken in the years since his childhood, but not by much. He works as an illustrator for children's books, so he spends most of his time working silently up in his studio. When Aubrey gets home from her job she likes to lie on the couch they set up in the corner of his studio and tell him about her day. To the outside world it might seem like he's not paying attention, given that Sunny doesn't look up from his work or comment on her stories, but Aubrey knows how to look for the signs in him. A slight smile, a shift in his posture, they'e miniscule to everyone else, but they mean the world to her.

Sunny still gets nightmares. It's the price to pay for his wild imagination, sometimes it goes far off the tracks. Aubrey knows the truth about what happened to Mari, and she knows that Sunny isolated away from everyone for those four years, but he never told her about Headspace and Omori. Sometimes he will fly up in bed and be spouting nonsense about knives and darkness, and all she can do is rub his back and wait for his mind to stop racing long enough to remind him where he is.

She knows he's still hiding something from her, but she knows that whatever it is, he's talked to Kel about it. Aubrey tries not to be jealous, Kel is one of Sunny's best friends, but it's hard not to feel second rate when Kel knows this huge secret that she doesn't. It's cropped up in most of their fights, but Sunny still won't tell her.

I don't see Aubrey ever as the "marrying" type (She didn't exactly get any great examples of marriages around her) but I do think that it would be something both of their mothers pushed for. Aubrey hates that her mother pulls this hypocritical BS and acts like a parent when she's an adult, but she does care what Sunny's mother thinks of her, so it puts marriage back on the table. Sunny could go either way, he doesn't think it's necessary for them to be married, but if it will make Aubrey happy then they'll do it.

If they end up married they wouldn't have a wedding. It would be Aubrey's defiance of her mother and her meddling. They would get married at the court house by a justice of the peace, and (Because Hero begged for it) they would let him throw a modest party at his house for them. Just friends with a few gifts, nothing major. It's lowkey, which is perfect for both of them.

this is gonna get angsty but that’s just where this prompt led me sorry for the suffering xx don’t worry ending is happy 

aubrey lowkey hates her soulmate at first

it seems like it’s almost daily that a new flower grows

as soon as the old ones wilt away, a new one joins

 there are always a lot on her knees, rosebuds sprouting and growing

elbows too

during childhood, roses were super common on so many children, because well, children are always clumsy

but in middle school once people start to get a little more coordination, aubrey is always the one in class with the most roses 

the other kids poke fun, saying that her soulmate must be a real catch 

one time in 8th grade aubrey straight up gets flowers on her ass (like, really? did her soulmate fall on their ass and bruise it?) and people have a field day with that (aubrey wants to flip them off, but there’s a rose sprouting from her middle finger too (she assumes a paper cut))

in high school, people don’t pick as much fun at aubrey, which she’s thankful for

because she’s noticed that there’s a lot of poison ivy sprouting and wrapping around her arms and thighs...

it drives her crazy because she’s never seen someone sprout ivy like this before...and the locations are worrying to her

it doesn’t leave hives like poison ivy does but every time aubrey looks at the ivy she feels a terrible feeling deep in her gut and it feels like an itch she cant quite scratch, like a burning sensation that set itself under her skin

she’s worried about her soulmate because sometimes the ivy starts wilting away and aubrey thinks they’re recovering but then suddenly after a week of only having tiny ivy leaves, new bigger ones grow again 

she’s always on the lookout throughout school, eyeing people’s arms carefully to see if there are scars 

her senior year, the ivy stops growing, and only tiny vines are left wrapped around her 

she’s thankful for the relief herself, but she’s even happier that it seems like her soulmate is making a real recovery this time

college comes and goes without many anomalies, just the occasional paper cuts or bruised knees 

except one day during her junior year, aubrey feels the sharpest pain she’s ever felt in her shoulder as a new plant spouts 

once she’s finally able to stand the pain enough to look, she sees practically a full bush of roses 

they stop hurting after a couple of days but they don’t wilt

aubrey thinks something serious must have happened that left major scars

her senior year is normal, and one sunny day she’s sitting out on the quad in a red sundress (she’s learned to coordinate with her flowers) reading peacefully

suddenly, her sunlight is being blocked by a tiny figure looking at her with a mixture of anxiety and surprise in her eyes

“Hello? Can I help you?” 

“Um, yeah. I was just coming to sit and work on some music but I couldn’t help but notice. Your...your shoulder. How long have you had those roses?” 

Aubrey squints at the stranger, not quite able to see her properly because of the lighting “Since last year. Sometime in the winter I think.” 

“Oh, wow.” The girl plops down finally next to Aubrey “And...and they haven’t faded? They’re scars right?” 

“Yeah...” Aubrey can see her clearly now, a tiny brunette with stormy blue eyes that remind her of a hurricane

The girl just stares at Aubrey in disbelief and pulls down the shoulder of her tshirt and....

“Scars. Those are...” Aubrey touches the roses, and then reaches out hesitantly and when the girl doesn’t move away, she traces her fingers over the deep scars on her shoulder

“It was a car accident.” The girl explains “it was icy....and I guess you know about...” she doesn’t finish the sentence, but rubs her forearm purposefully

Aubrey nods in understanding, eyes soft and caring 

“Right. Of course. So I guess we’re soulmates? That’s...that’s cool. I’m Beca” 

beca finally manages a smile, and it’s adorable and a little bashful and vulnerable because she feels like Aubrey already knows so much about her and Aubrey already feels comfortable in her presence

“I’m Aubrey.” 

“Aubrey. It suits you” Beca grins “Do you wanna get lunch?”

aubrey likes chica and bonnie but was a foxy fangirl when she was younger. also loves funtime freddy but like lowkey. she likes roxy wolf but doesn't admit it cuz she doesn't wanna get called a newgen.

kel is a bonnie enjoyer. but like specifically bonbon. he also likes the pizzeria sim/mediocre melody animatronics even tho nobody else likes them (he loves rockstar foxy's parrot)

hero likes mr hippo and would listen to all of his monologues. he likes ballora and funtime foxy but his favs are probably freddy variants.

mari likes marionette/puppet and circus baby. she's also a fnaf lore enthusiast and her and sunny talk ab it a lot and she spreads what she learns from sunny to other people like an infection

basil likes the withered animatronics but specifically toilet bonnie. also any sister location animatronics. he doesn't rlly understand the lore but happily listens to sunny talk ab it. he also likes helpy and gets happy whenever he pops up.

Haha I’m not exactly sure when you sent this nonnie, but I can’t remember if you are actually the first. Regardless I have a series of nonbinary Kel headcanons going, and I’m going to add to them now for youuuu. Sorry if you don’t like Suntan...0-0 TW tho because there’s gonna be some internalized transphobia in this that our sun bean will have to confront. This isn’t really a lot of Suntan it’s mostly that sweet sweet Kelbrey friendship

Aubrey and Kelsey are at the mall when they first spot the romper. They are killing time until Sunny comes over that night, and then the three of them will go to Basil’s for a sleepover. Hero is out of town visiting some old friends, so it’s just the four of them. Originally Aubrey was considering inviting Basil too, but when she found out it was a Kelsey sort of day, she declared it a “girl’s” trip. 

((Kelsey isn’t sure that girl’s trip is exactly right to fit who they are, but it feels good to link elbows with Aubrey and get brought around to share dressing rooms and try a thousand different too smelly lotions))

The romper...it’s dainty for lack of a better term. It’s a flouncy loose ivory colored thing with a delicate pattern of large white flowers with red blushed petals. It has spaghetti straps and sleeves that hang off of the shoulder. The starch white mannequin with the petite feature makes it look so alluring, and Kelsey can’t stop herself from gazing longingly at it. 

Aubrey notices and drags her into the store. 

It’s just the two of them after all, what’s the harm in going in? They’ve been in and out of a dozen stores, and Kelsey even feels comfortable enough to even wear out the carefully crafted pink friendship bracelet Aubrey made her. It’s the same color as their best friend’s hair. 

Aubrey zeroes in one where the rompers are, and she wastes no time in finding the rack with the same one that Kelsey had been looking at. She eyes them for a second, before pulling one out and holding it up.

“You’re probably an extra large here because of how tall you are. Don’t worry about sizes though, every single store is different”

They’re alone in the store, so why is Kelsey’s heart starting to race? Why are they looking around waiting for someone to pop up and start laughing. 

Aubrey either doesn’t notice or doesn’t care about their dilemma. She takes another size up and another size down and grabs their hand again, dragging her off to the dressing rooms in the back. She puts all three of the rompers on the hook in the room and sits down waiting expectantly staring at Kelsey

Kelsey looks from her best friend to the clothes and then back to Aubrey. Aubrey chooses to sit and wait. They both know what Aubrey wants them to do, but Kelsey isn’t sure she could. 

With hands that are starting to shake and a racing heart, Kelsey picks up the extra large. The material feels like air in their hands, lighter and softer than any of the boy clothes she has in her drawers at home. 

It feels too delicate, like one pull too hard it would rip in half. Aubrey, sending hesitation, begins to debate Kelsey on what they had been talking about before they came into the store- What Sunny will want for his birthday party. 

Without thinking Kelsey begins to change, demanding that she knows her boyfriend better than Aubrey, and she knows he wouldn’t want a surprise party. Kelsey doesn’t even see how that would be a good idea for someone as shy and lowkey as Sunny. Before they realize it, Kelsey is standing in front of a mirror in the romper. Aubrey comes up behind them, appraising the outfit. 

“You look beautiful,” There it is again. That word that makes everything feel brand new to her. “How do you feel?” 

Kelsey doesn’t feel beautiful. Kelsey Kel feels...

“I-”

“I want to go home,” 

Kelsey Kel dresses quickly, leaving behind the romper in an undignified heap in the dressing room. They He waits outside the store as Aubrey comes out, giving him a strange look. They don’t link elbows as they leave the mall. On the bus ride back he takes off the bracelet and carefully slips it into the pocket of his basketball shorts. 

He quickly separates from Aubrey when they get back to Faraway, going to his house and grabbing his basketball. He gets to the park and immediately launches himself into playing a one on one match against himself. 

This is what he’s good at. This is what he should be doing. He shouldn’t be pretending that he’s not anything but a basketball dumb jock. He should stop pretending that he could wear something like that and not look ridiculous. That’s how she he felt when he wore it. Ridiculous

Because it was ridiculous. It was a joke. He was a joke. He was a joke who was pretending that he was anything but what he was. 

Kel trips then and falls on the court, skinning open one of her his HIS knees. He hates himself for even thinking her knees. He lands in a heap, looking up to see a clear blue sky, and the angry eyes of his best friend

“What the fuck?”

It’s very Aubrey statement to randomly make out of the blue. Kel tries to pretend that the tears in her his her eyes are from the pain of a bleeding knee, and not from a bleeding heart. Aubrey plonks down to sit next to where Kel is lying flat on the court, and sighs. She twirls a long pink strand of hair around her fingers. 

They don’t talk. Neither of them are particularly good at talking about their feelings. They sit and they wait. Then Aubrey holds out a slim hand, and Kel takes it in his too big one. 

She brings him to Basil’s house, pushing him past a sputtering Basil and Polly and into the bathroom. There she sits him down on the closed lid toilet and pulls out bandages and a first aid kid. She puts two bandages on his knee, one purple and one grey. Then she pulls off the backpack she’s been carrying all day and pulls out a slightly wrinkled ivory cloth

It’s the romper

“You looked beautiful. I wouldn’t say that if it wasn’t true. I know this isn’t always easy, but you should have it if it makes you happy” Kel takes the fabric from her, running calloused fingers over the airy light material

“You stole this?” “You’re focusing on the wrong thing”

Kel’s tank top and shorts are sweaty and dirty from exercising. The cling to his body and feel heavy on his skin. Kelsey looks at her best friend for a second, before standing and turning around. 

She folds her clothes carefully, doing it the way her mother showed her but never managing to get quite the same result. Their fingers are too big to get crisp clean edges. Kelsey changes into the romper, turning back around. Aubrey is staring at her

“Still beautiful” This time when she says it, Kelsey believes her.
