What are your favorite rarepairs for marauders, and what are some headcanons for them?

I was asleep when you sent me this lovely ask, but I’ll answer it now! Are you freed from your house cleaning?

I mean, there are such a few rare pairs that I really hate, and I accept most of them and sometimes reblog fanart and stuff for a lot of them… but my favourites might be Sunrose (James x Evan), Sunkiller (James x Barty) and Jegulily. And hear me out on this one, but I kinda see James x Peter when they were kids. I’ll get back to that!

Idk, I just stumbled across this cute post once about how no one understood Evan the way James did and since then I’ve had a soft spot for the ship for them two. The post headcannoned that they always had quite deep discussions about emotions and stuff and when Evan was at his worst and needed a break from the chaos that is Barty, James was who he turned to. And I just melted 🫠

For James and Barty, I headcannon that they’re both bipolar (I kinda hc that Sirius is too) and they might not know their exact diagnosis, but they relate to each other with the struggles it brings and they find comfort in each other. In public they’re crazy and pranksters and sometimes do things no one else will ever understand, and alone they open up and talk and fall in love ✨

Jegulily. This one is mainly because I saw this badass piece of fanart for them once which included kisses and an absolutely stunning Lily who gave me the finger through the screen. I reblog it every time I see it XD

I mean, I like Jegulus (scratch that I LOVEEEEEE JEGULUSSSSS), and Jily will always have a place in my heart, and in a way I think that Jegulily would make sense in canon. Ya get what I’m saying?

Hm, a hc for them… I could kinda see them all being trans? Lily mtf, Regulus ftm or intersex (I haven’t decided yet lol) and James nb. And I also think Jegulus happened first and then Lily joined and it turned out very well in the end ✨

For Peter and James, I think they were childhood best friends long before Hogwarts, and that they did everything together. Who can blame Peter for falling in love with his best friend? I’m not sure if I hc them actually getting together or nah, but in the end it all couldn’t continue. They began Hogwarts and James got a bunch of new friends, and Peter had to adapt to that. Must have been a hard time for him :(

-Childhood vaguely unrequited ProngsTail my beloved! I think that at some point in time, Peter was very deeply in love with every single one of his friends, but the timing and circumstances were always bad so he kinda just ended out pining for eternity. I'm definitely with you that he and James are childhood friends that were always around each other (I usually throw Marlene into that group too).

-Jegulily YES! I know EXACTLY the fanart you're talking about. I love Jily with my whole soul, I've got a soft spot for Jegulus, and I always enjoy Regulily when it comes up, so I know how you feel! I love the t4t4t headcanon. I'm gonna be thinking about that for a couple of days.

-Never really thought about SunKiller, but yeah, they'd vibe. That'd be an explosive ship for sure. They'd break a LOT of stuff, probably maybe definitely including each other. I wouldn't want to be anywhere in a 5 mile radius of them, but BOY HOWDY HEY they'd have some fun stories. I'm with you on bipolar James, Sirius and Barty. I specifically think James and Barty are type I and Sirius is type II.

-SunRose/SunFlower is out here fulfilling my agenda of getting the marauders and the skittles to interact more. I love the idea that when either group is feeling emotionally fraught amongst themselves, they'll go to someone from the other crowd. Sirius seeking comfort in Pandora, the MoonWater canoe being a thing, and DEFINITELY James, Evan, and Barty. I can see it for sure.
