The post Sunin is referring to is the depths of my blog now but I do remember the post. Your points/questions are so correct.

As of me posting this, I'm more inclined to think the World Government would commit an assassination to make a fucked up point. But that's so depressing so we'll pretending they're not that horrifically evil.

I think it makes a lot of sense for the World Government to take DJ under their wing. Making a Warlords child a hound for the government is also a really good tactic.

DJ would probably be heavily restricted though. If they happen to be anything like Doffy, aka born a nutjob, they may idolize their parent for his crimes. To prevent this, the government would do everything in their power to prevent the child from accessing any media about their father that was spoon fed to them.

I also have this feeling that if they looked anything like Doffy, the government care takers would try to change their appearance via hair dye and clothing choices. This kid is allowed to wear pink.

I could also see the government totally using this event as a propaganda piece. (Side note: the lack of WG propaganda shown in the series is surprising.)

The more I watch and the more I learn about the WG really shifts my perspective on everything. There is some crazy shit going on behind the scenes that I'm desperate to uncover.
