It's our first time writing a 'thanks to' and it's also something I've wanted to write for a long time. I've thought about it a lot in the past about who I was thankful for and who I would write down in my album. But for real, so many people came to mind... I felt once again that being a singer and releasing an album is not something I can do alone. Sungseok Ahn <When I was born in, cried and the world rejoiced>

Sungseok Ahn is one of the artists that I really liked at the exhibition. He usually uses the platform of photography, video, and game. He explores the intersection between his personal experiences, and the present situations and historical records of the artist’s generation and time. To do that, he constantly questions himself the meaning of living as an artist and what the role of an artist is. And asks how to question or respond to the absurd and contraction in reality.

The thing that I liked his work is that he questions a lot. I found the link between the artist’s method. Me also when I start the project, I make a lot of questions. It could be asked to myself or to the universe. From these questions, I tried to find the answer to it. It seems that Ahn also had questions from the start.

In this exhibition, he showed the newest work, <When I was born in, cried and the world rejoiced>(2019). This installation work intervenes between the conventional notions of video and how to view the work itself. He focused on the idea that the purpose of the photograph is to merely capture something and consume it, and the attitude toward this, the relation between the camera and its subject. As I experience his work, the first thing that I noticed was his humor. From the title, it almost feels like a catchphrase. I immediately respond. It made me curious about his project. He used a water bed for his viewers, not chairs nor cushions. That means something. I was changing the position as lying or sitting while viewing his work and made me think that he meant this. Ahn wanted the audience to experience warmth while viewing his work. The relation between his video and installation was linked in a way. Because his work was about the moment when we born, we were grateful from other people but since we are growing we realize the reality is not like that. It is all about individualistic and cynical. But because of his water bed, I felt thoughtful consideration that cannot be seen in his video work. It was quite bouncing between two conflict aspects.

The first one I saw N Flying Jaehyun and someone I suspected as Honeyst member (it’s either Chulmin or Sungseok, but they changed their hair color,so I don’t recognize it) I feel so sorry not to recognize him

Majelis Nasional Korea Selatan menyetujui Amandemen Undang-undang Pengendalian Narkotika pada 23 November untuk memungkinkan ganja sebagai alat medis. Hal ini tentu mengejutkan sebagian pihak. Pasalnya ketika hampir seluruh negara di Asia menolak penggunaan ganja justru pemerintah Korea mengijinkan dengan alasa memberi banyak dampak baik bagi kesehatan. [irp] Kementerian Keamanan Pangan dan Obat-obatan Korea seperti yang dilansir dari laman mjbizdaily, mencatat bahwa undang-undang yang diubah yang disahkan dalam Majelis Nasional akan memperluas peluang pengobatan bagi pasien dengan penyakit langka. Pdt. Sungseok Kang, dengan Organisasi Penyalur Ganja Medis, mengatakan tindakan Korea untuk mengizinkan ganja medis adalah "langkah besar," tetapi banyak detail yang perlu diselesaikan terkait dengan peraturan. Meskipun sudah legal, penggunaan ganja tidaklah sembarangan. Bagi yang membutuhkan, Warga Korea Selatan harus menjalani proses yang cukup panjang dan ketat mulai terlebih dahulu mendapat resep dari medis kemudian melapor ke pusat obat Korea untuk mendapat persetujuan dan memproses berdasarkan jenis penyakit yang dialami pasien.
