I've been building more lots in my lil desert town of Sunblight, this is one that has taken a couple of days.. (and not done) but I was inspired after watching @antisocialbunnysims asylum challenge for the 34th time.. (a rllly rlly good watch!) and I've downloaded a mansion from the game and have been slowly editing it over the days to make it to how I want it...

Iterators as cats + wc names!!! Some ideas and concepts
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sorry Pebbles is a soggy thing, I immediately thought of him as a sphynx cat when I started. A lykoi would also be a cool idea for him I think. I think he could be a very pretty semi furred sphynx when healthy though. His name is Pebblesong because he has his little music pearl and his song and I cry.
Moon is soft and fluffy and huge eyes, I only thought of a ragdoll after I completed the first sketch draft. I like the pattern I gave her though. She stares at you with big huge eyes. Moongazer because her eyes and Looks to the Moon. Definitely might revise her design more in the future, I like the idea of a nebelung cat for her too. With like star patternings,,
Suns is a big fluffy guy (love suns designs with the fur), possibly a Maine coon or Norwegian Forest Cat, leaning more to Maine coon though. Also entertained Abyssinian because without all that fluff, he absolutely is skinny. He gets the name Sunblight for his part in Pebbles predicament lol 👍 it also sounds cool and I like blight in reference to a shadow too as I think that event definitely casted a big shadow over Suns as well
What is the nickname for NSH lol. He gets folded or curled ears because his iterator design has no antenna. I think American Curls are very cute but I also like the Siamese/color point design for him too. I also really like the idea of NSH being a calico. His name is Littlestrike or Littlebite, I think it’s cute. Also no significant = little, and harassment = strike/bite. I like Littlebite. He’s just a silly little guy. Smallest out of all of them for sure.

I cannot WAIT to see your take on the TMA!Avarice or Sunblight!
I cannot wait myself! My players are reading this blog and they haven't really encountered Avarice yet (not to a degree where she can be fully incorporated into the au), but I do have a certain take on this character. . .

Why a Hug Would Fix Nalvia
An essay about my Frostmaiden PC. I made a post about this earlier, but I have had more time to stew on it and make the words sound nicer.
I am struck by the notion that Nalvia has never had a hug in their life. I mean, walk through it with me. Their parents had too many children to hug, even if they had been the hugging sort to begin with. Their siblings were too busy fending for their own lives and attention in the Rocksnapper family to hug each other. As soon as a Rocksnapper could hold a pick-axe, it’s off to the mines to earn your keep, earn your survival, earn a place in this bitch of an earth.
Maevwaen may have hugged them, she and Nalvia were friends after all, but the more I think about it, the more I think their friendship was a hug-free friendship. Maevwaen wanted to hug Nalvia, and often, but Nalvia is prickly. Both figuratively and literally. I chose their spiked cloak as a cool aesthetic, but I think in a lot of ways it is unintentionally symbolic of how everything about them is designed to scream “go away” and “don’t touch me.” I think as much as Nalvia appreciated Maevwaen’s company and warmth, they never truly learned how to let it in, and any time their friendship got a bit too soft, Nalvia would pull away, leaving no chance for hugs.
Sunblight definitely is not the hugging sort. Neither is their patron. Nalvia found acceptance in their pact and in their job, they found a purpose, something far bigger than the family mines, but much like their childhood, everything was earned. Nalvia learned that acceptance was something you fought for, something you showed with actions, and not with touch. It’s only natural, of course, that Nalvia now shows their new friends their affection through dangerous maneuvers in combat. It’s a double edged sword. It is driven by the guilt of almost betraying and killing the very people who taught them how to love, and it is also the only way they know how to show their friends they care. There has been no other way their entire life. From the mines to Sunblight, action was all there was. Action was acceptance. Action is love.
Which is why I think that Nalvia needs a hug. Not a short hug, not one that would be done in a second and easy to brush off as nothing more than a friendly pat on the back. But a long-five minute hug, where they are forced to actually stop, push past the cynicism and eye-rolling (after all, what good would touch do? They’ve been physically touched before, in combat. The sting of damage, the yanking of friends pulling them to safety). Then, it would click. Their brain chemistry would be rewired. They would learn of the softness of love, that there are more ways to show appreciation than throwing themselves to the brink of death. They would learn there is more to the world than the harshness of ice and stone and cold. They would let others in, let themselves be vulnerable. And maybe a hug would not be an immediate fix, life is far more complex than that, but I think it would be the straw that changes the tide.

Here is Sunblight the first (Canonical) Dungeon of Rime of the Frostmaiden 1 square = 10 feet
Spoilers Below you have been warned
In the story the characters learn of a plot by a Duergar named Xardorok whos plot is to forge a dragon made of Chardalyn and unleash it upon Ten-Townes tempting you to launch a preemptive strike on the fortress. This is in the event you decide to attack the fortress. You are actually for a surprise though when you arrive as Xardarok has already finished the construct and set it loose leaving the poor adventures with a really REALLY tough descision press the attack against the fortress or intercept the dragon. More spoilers you are more likely to survive an invasion of the fortress if you are at least level 4 If you are a lower level you can still succeed if you take frequent rests or have an edge such as plenty of healing magic or allies to back you up.

Redesigned my WoW main on Moon Guard and forgot to show him off. Keel'danas Sunblight is a blood DK and san'layn. When he's not hunting down the dregs of the Scarlet Crusade, he enjoys being a foster dad and blacksmithing for good causes.

FROSTMAIDEN SPOILERS NOW
i have decided that xardorok sunblight, the duergar tyrant trying to take over icewind dale in the middle section of the campaign, has left the underdark and decided to take over icewind dale specifically because the underdark has just been flooded with thousands of vampire spawn led by Astarion. and he absolutely HATES astarion for this and has a one sided rivalry with him
so rime of the frostmaiden takes place like, right around the time bg3 does. bg3 is in 1492, frostmaiden is “1489 or later”. i have taken the ‘later’ to mean, approximately a year after the events of bg3. this allows me to throw all the characters into backstories in whatever bullshit way i want and i am SO excited about this

So.. this is my first post!
I've been building myself my own custom run down town with my own Sims and storylines and I've been having SO much fun! It's been a blast, I've never felt more inspired ever. I'm slowly building and populating the hood as time goes by, but the last week I've spent alll of my time building and creating.
So.. for my first family, I'd like to introduce Tony & Eloise Diaz. Tony and Eloise met and instantly could tell there was a connection. The only problem being that Eloise was 15 years younger than Tony (and a minor..) but regardless she fell in love with him and decided that he was the one for her. Her family on the other hand saw right through Tony, they could see he was manipulative and not right for their darling daughter... so they banned Eloise from seeing him. So she did the only thing her teenage brain knew to do and she ran away with him in hopes of a better life with her older love...little did she know that he couldn't give her a better life - now they're stuck in a dead end town, in a trailer that can barely keep itself standing, with no simoleons to their name. Can they work through these issues, or will it be the end of their love affair?

I'll be sharing more stories and more builds as the days go on! I'm so excited to share this!!:)))

Crown of Blackened Ice (Day 9 of Magic Item March, a 31-day series of homebrewed magic items)
Tumblr media
(Image source: Paul Canavan, Icewind Dale - Wizards of the Coast; image description: A duergar, Xardorok Sunblight, with a long full white beard stands next to a waist-high triangular spire of chardalyn, a black crystalline material. His right hand and forearm are covered in a gauntlet of chardalyn, and he wears a jagged crown made of chardalyn. He is wearing a combination of metal shoulder armor and hides/furs.)
Wondrous item (very rare, requires attunement)
You have resistance to cold damage while wearing this crown.
When you successfully save against a spell of 5th level or lower, you may use your reaction to absorb the spell into the crown. If you absorb a spell in this way, no targets suffer negative effects of the spell, even if they would occur on a successful saving throw. While a spell is absorbed by the crown, you are treated as though you are concentrating on a spell. If you fail a concentration check or are incapacitated, the spell is released targeting you and you immediately fail the associated saving throw. As an action, you may release the spell absorbed by the crown, choosing new targets and using the original spell save DC. The crown may have only one spell absorbed at a time.
Background
Until I, Xardorok Sunblight, set my sights on this pathetic land of Icewind Dale, no one was daring enough to properly utilize chardalyn! Everyone said, “It’s dangerous.” “No one knows where it comes from.” “It whispers strange things in your mind and makes you evil.” Well all I know is that it’s powerful, and I’m gathering as much of it as I can to take over this frigid land! I’ve already had a gauntlet made out of the stuff and soon I’ll have my crown as well, and I would have had it sooner if my smiths didn’t keep dying mysteriously with their eyes turned into blackened pits and frostbite all over their limbs. It’s no matter to me, I’ll just keep fetching new ones up from my ancestral holdings until they get the damn thing done. Now I wonder if it’s possible to make something bigger out of chardalyn…
-Excerpt from the diary of Xardorok Sunblight, translated from Dwarvish
Story Hooks
Have you read Icewind Dale: Rime of the Frostmaiden? Because if not, well, just go read that. There’s not much else to add here. Except that Xardorok’s crown is magic now.

When in pursuit of absolute knowledge, one would  assume  that certain feelings must be cast to the wayside in order to accomplish what needed to be done.  Menial things.  Things that may have otherwise earned sideways glances, disgusted retorts and many various rude observations  -  however, today was not such a day.  She  was not such a person. In here lay the opportunity no other human was to experience, and thus, she finds no higher honor than to be a part of such a historic moment. Even if such a moment was to be shared with only  herself  and these little creatures.
Knowledge  of  Alchemy  includes that knowledge of the world, not only the power and chaos to be caused by it. Yes this foul little  Hells Lilith  positively  adored  that chaos and basked within its stench of glorious power when such moments came about  -  but in her aged, everlasting years, such moments were so  difficult  to come by. The occasional hunter. The lost campers. The finely garbed, head-to-toe, weaponized and the like. Never-ending in that cycle of come and go  bursts  of chaotic energy. Some days, it was best to alleviate such tensions with that veil of innocence.
Curious intentions the only bit of her that ring genuine on this day in particular  -  though the very idea of consuming an  insect  that disgusted her was absolute, there was something peculiar about the ones he had presented.  Rian  was a  conduit  for his vast world, truly. So when he had set his bowl of crawling critters before her, it was with that same intensity that continues to  rage  and  storm  in hues of brilliant  vermillion  behind a protuberant gaze that she took one and with the flick of her wrist  -  tossed it into her mouth, and chewed.
It made a sick, squelching  POP   -  but was otherwise alright. Taking her back to days of when Daddy would finely cut slabs of freshly killed pork and simply... tossed it into the slicked up pan. Pops. Pops. Lots of pops.

“  Where did you say you acquired these... ahm...”   needing to swallow... well, she did her best, not without a furrowed brow and distinct unpleasant frown to follow.   “ Beetle-like  creatures? Do you only eat them as such, or, do you fry them whole like this?  ”
