SAD AU:

Say if Sophie wasn’t immortal and did pass away, what if years passed by and Wukong found her reincarnated future self?

I will make this even more sad. In my AU, JTTW is a completely separate world. It has HEAVY elements of Ancient China but it's not 'the past' of our world. This means that even if Sophie explains what the 'future' looks like, it won't happen here. So we could argue that since Sophie doesn't necessarily belong in the JTTW universe when she dies there won't be reincarnation. This means that Wukong will spend the rest of his life without her or a new partner. If this saw SAD AU, he would feel lonely for many many years.

But I don't like sad endings and realistically speaking, I like to imagine that he will learn to live without her. It's a part of life and he would have known that she won't live long. He will at least have the memories of her and honestly, I think he will become WAY chiller. Because that's what Sophie wanted: Him to grow and become better. He would do it in her honor and respect.
