Friday the 13th Part 3 (1982) Got caught up with the #100horrormoviesin92days challenge last night with a Friday the 13th double-header, to celebrate the holiday. Watched both part 2 & 3, back-to-back. What a goofy, gory good time! Let it be stated for the record, don't go into Friday the 13th Part 3 expecting any sense or continuity. If Jason was alive that whole time, why did his Mom go crazy and kill all those campers? And if he loved her enough to build a creepy shrine out of her head, why didn't he contact her in any regard during those years? Silliness. And let's not forget how Jason grew several inches, bulked out like he was on 'roids, and shaved his head in the literal few hours that elapsed since the end of Part 2? It's best not to think about it too much. Worth it for the hokey, hilarious 3D effects alone, which are plentiful. Ever been looking to get shot in the eye with a 3D arrow? Here's yr chance! Or what about a group of 80s motorcycle toughs lovingly explore a creepy old barn for like 10 minutes? I, too, am tickled by old canteens - i feel you, Fox, i feel you! Worth going down in the annals of Friday the 13th history for the updated, discofied Friday the 13th theme song by Henry Manfredini. With all of these features, how can you NOT watch Friday the 13th Pt. 3? Since it's Friday the 13th, an (un)holy day for witches and horror lovers, i'll be sharing some Friday the 13th goodness and aesthetics throughout the day, not necessarily limited to the horror movie franchise but there will probably be plenty of that! We're gonna need a bigger boat.   Steven Spielberg directed this original classic shark movie, "Jaws". The fear comes from underwater and the evil is hungry for blood and has fins. For a PG horror movie I really enjoy this film, even had the greatest cast too and I wasn't scared when I first saw it I was actually hyped to see Jaws and seeing a killer shark attacking everyone during the beach in the summer. One of my favorite flicks to watch during the summer 🦈 Based of the novel by Peter Benchley, many speculate that he got the idea from the 1916 shark attacks in my home state of New Jersey. There’s also a debate of which type of shark was responsible for these “attacks”. The great white, as depicted in Jaws, or a bull shark, which is able to hunt in both fresh and salt water. This week’s PVD Horror Follower Pick of the Week question asked what everyone’s favorite summer-themed horror film was. The results are in and it was a close race with lots of popular favorites suggested such as Jaws and Friday the 13th, but the one to edge out the most votes was the super underrated camp slasher The Burning from 1981. This movie saw the earlier careers of Jason Alexander and Holly Hunter and has also been argued to be a comparable slasher, if not better, than the original Friday the 13th which came out one year earlier. Growing up in Derry hadn't always afforded the most exciting of opportunities for the Losers or the Bowers alike. Though life granted the occasional reprieve from the mundane in the form of county fairs or the odd arrest for something bigger than a drunk and disorderly. Still, those instances were few and far between, leaving the youths and young adults of the town to fend for themselves in the way of entertainment. Once they were old enough, acquiring licenses and summer jobs helped alleviate the boredom just a bit, but nothing fully quelled their "small town woes". Then came college, and it seemed as though everyone had scattered to their own corners. Of course the gangs texted. Emailed. Met for coffee a few times during breaks from school. Though, it seemed nothing could recapture the brilliance of their childhoods, and the bonds they forged. 

 Now, though, it seems as though they may have been given a second chance. Mere days before their Senior years of college are set to end, each individual has received a mysterious email, requesting last-minute meetings with their academic advisers to discuss "a unique and exciting summer internship position" they've been selected for. The emails include no further information, simply that each is to meet his/her adviser at their respective college library no later than 8:00 PM the following evening.
