I am opening writing requests for my OC Flora in the Welcome to demon school irumakun fandom, so here is some info about her to help shape your requests:

Flora is irumas adoptive aunt. She doesn't feel quite like a mom to him, so she got aunt status. Sullivan decided to bring in an adult human to help iruma adjust and develop since honestly he knows nothing about human development. He decided to do this while iruma was training with the student council. man straight up panic adopted another human even tho his grandson was very safe without him for a week🤣. Opera fetched flora thinking she would be a good fit for the role. She was fetched a slip second before dying, like time freeze to explain the offer style. She was previously doing work and research into improving the school system and at an event someone tried to till her hence the time stop. She agreed and came to the netherworld

Her familiar (they figure out how to do this later into the story) is one of sullivans nightmares that pulls irumas carriage. She really likes horses, so she loves the nightmares.

She is the librarian of babyles, and has a bug army. Various species of bugs were created by Thoth to help preserve information in abandoned libraries around the netherworld, and upon hearing about this and comming across one herself, she introduced them en mass to the library and they help her keep everything neat and orderly, some of them even have the ability to read aloud the books to students. The bugs really respect flora for the way she takes care of the library, to the extend of perm/temp banning students who cause too much trouble or ruckus inside.

Kalego is her main love interest. Originally she felt indifferent about him, but when he came over for home visits and she realized he made an entire notebook for each of his students individually? She swooned. She's not momonoski level crushing on him, but there are definitely feelings now.

March marbus, the torture arts teacher, is her second love interest. March develops a crush on her because she reminds him slightly of an evidol. The way she's all smiles and knows just how to cheer someone up, even if she's not aware of it. He admires the level of psychology that goes into evidol work like that, and he recognizes it in flora. He asks to court her at one point but she says no. She doesn't want to try dating anyone who doesn't know that she is human so as to limit complications. They stay friends tho

Finally, in regards to @snippychicke, we are best friends in a qpr together and share almost all our writing with eachother, so you may find some things similar with her For The Sake Of A Smile fic, which is reader x balam. I really recommend you go check it out bc it's Awsome and so is anything she writes. So any similarities in our iruma work are because we share and help eachother write for this fandom, we are not stealing from eachother. We ask each other for permission and we respect the word no.

You’ve had a crush on Iruma for about 3 months now

No, not because he has been “standing out” or because he is the Grandson of the famous demon Sullivan — but because he’s shown and taught you things you’ve never known or realized before in the Netherworld

You’ve started studying together quite frequently — but you desire more — yet you’re still too shy to do anything about it

Today will be another study date with Iruma — this time, at his house

You finished up with class, then met up with him outside of The Royal One.

You then proceeded to WALK to his house??  You wonder why you would not fly?  Does he want more time alone with you?? 

You blush hard as you continue the walk to his house.

You finally arrive

Wow his house is huge

You begin to show a concerned look on your face

Iruma notices, and reaches out his hand to you

“It’s alright (Y/N)” Iruma smiled and stretched out his hand to you.  Ba-dump.  Your heart began to race as you took his hand, and squeezed it tight as you continued through the gates of the Sullivan mansion. 

An androgynous looking demon with cat ears and red hair opened the door for you.  “Welcome home Iruma — and a welcome to you miss (Y/N)”. “Thanks Opera” Iruma gestured you through first, and Opera whispered something into Iruma’s ear that made him turn bright red as he rushed in right after you.  

“Welcome home my darling Iruma!!” a tall elderly demon rushed to hug Iruma and spun him around.  He set Iruma down “my goodness me, is this (Y/N), the demoness you’ve been spending all of your precious time with??  Ooooh how beautiful!  Isn’t my Grandson just the GREATEST?!” “Grandpa!!!!” Opera grabbed Sullivan by the collar “we’ll be heading out for errands now”.  “Awww but I wanna see this momentous occasion in my Grandson’s liiiiife…. Bye bye my sweet Iruma…..” The front door closed.

“Well, should we get to studying?” Iruma smiled awkwardly as your heart began to race even faster and harder. (We’re all alone now, oh my gosh oh my gosh… ok.. be cool… just be cool).  “Yes, yes.. let’s do just that!” You stammered.  

You and Iruma headed to his room

His bed was so luxurious and you were so tempted to jump right in

Iruma sat on his bed and opened his text book “so what should we study first?” He smiled at you.  But today, you just couldn’t pay attention.  Your heart just wouldn’t calm down.  I mean, you’re in the boy you like’s room!!  “I-I.. I need to use the restroom…” (what am I saying?!) You headed out the door to search for the restroom.  

Meanwhile Iruma’s POV

Iruma flopped over onto his bed “…I wonder what’s up with (Y/N)… she’s been silent all day… did I upset her?”.  Alli popped out of the glutoness feeder ring “my, I wonder?”  “Huhh???” “It’s obvious, my dear little Iru.” “Wh..what’s obvious.” “You really don’t get it do you?” Alli face-palmed “the poor girl is in love.” “In Love?  With who?”  Alli sighed “with YOU!”.  “Huh?!  With me?!?!  There’s no way.”  “You really are clueless.  Well, what’re you gonna do about it, small fry?”  “Me?  I.. I don’t know… I’ve never had a girl be in love with me before.. I’ve never even been on a date.. I was always too busy working back in the human realm.  I’m not even sure I’ve ever had a crush on a girl — there just wasn’t any time.  Well, what do you think I should do, Alli?”  “Well, that depends on you.  Do you fancy her too, hmm?”  Iruma put his hand on his chin and began to think.  He began to picture all of the times he’s spent with you, all of the laughs, smiles — everything.  And for some reason… began to smile… a whole-hearted genuine smile that radiated from his entire being.  You could almost see beams of light surrounding him.  “Well, I’ve never really experienced any romantic feelings before.. but I do know that (Y/N) is very special to me… maybe I’ll try and see how I feel when she gets back.”  

The door creaked open

“H-hey Iruma-kun, sorry I took a bit” you smiled very awkwardly and hesitantly sat down beside Iruma.  Ba-dump!  Just after you had left to get your heart rate in check, it sky rocketed almost immediately being in such close proximity to such a beautiful angel.  “It’s alright (Y/N) no worries!”  Iruma smiled his usual cheerful smile.  “Shall we continue our studies?”  You nodded as you admired his big beautiful eyes and adorable smile.  Iruma began reading the textbook passage, but no matter how hard you tried, you just couldn’t focus on anything other than his soft and soothing voice.  “(Y/N)……(Y/N)…… (Y/N)?”  You finally snapped out of it.  “Y-yes, Iruma-kun?”  He closed his text book.  “We don’t have to study tonight, I think we’re pretty much caught- up on the curriculum by how often we’ve been studying recently.  May I ask what’s bothering you?  I’d really hate it if I hurt or offended you in any way.”  You shook your head and hands frantically “No, no! You’ve got it all wrong!”  “I have?  Well, that’s a relief”. Iruma reached out and put his right hand gently on your head and gazed at you in a sweet and heartfelt manner “mind telling me what’s really going on?  I’d like to help if I can.”  Out of instinct you took his hand that was on your head and placed it against your cheek.  “I-I….. I love you Iruma-kun!  I can’t keep that from you any longer!”  Your eyes widened, and you immediately curled into a shy ball hiding from whatever happens next. 

You were now surrounded in your own thoughts, insecurities, and darkness.  (What will Iruma say?  What will he do?  Is our friendship now over??). 

Light peeked in through your pit of self-doubt and darkness.  Iruma swooped you up into a princess carry and nuzzled your face.  “I guess I didn’t realize until now… but, (Y/N), I love you too”.  Iruma stared at you with such an honest and earnest gaze, even though you’ve been burned by many demon boys before.. this time… it truly seemed different.  “Oh, Iruma…” you smiled back so tenderly.  You two connected foreheads and gazed at the beautiful Netherworld moonlight beaming through his balcony window.  You ran your fingers through his soft, feathery blue hair.  “Oh how I love you Iruma… can I ever say it enough?”  Iruma’s knees buckled and his face turned red… the two of you toppled over.  You giggled profusely and pet his head “still the same Iruma I fell for”.  You smiled at each other, and you proceeded to hug while still toppled over.  You laid atop Iruma as he gently pet your head, and the two of you drifted into a soft and blissful sleep.

A highschool study date turned into a sleepover... Huh. I wonder how Sullivan and Opera reacted?

i love irumakun like

i love how the series shows that even creatures of hell; demons, etc. are nothing compared to the evils of humanity's nature. that is all evident by iruma himself. he is greedy because he is human. a part of me thinks that he might not even realize the growing greed he has in him. after his infamous "evil cycle", iruma "blames" alikred for the things he did during the "evil cycle". it seems that he doesn't realize that irumean is actually him deep inside.

the chapter wherein iruma asks sullivan, "how does one become the demon king?" is when i think the seed of greed was planted. it was then he found out that the demon king owns all of the demon world because the demon king is the demon world. a new view was opened up to him. a panel was even shown with him staring into the demon city with the text: "if i were the demon king..." something happened in that short while and i really think that a seed was planted.

irumakun reminds me of one piece in a way. iruma and luffy have that aspect of good in them, but also has a sense of greed in a way that they'll do whatever they want and when they want to.

i love watching iruma grow as a character, and how slowly but surely, he is beginning to show demon traits.

there are times wherein the series shows these moments that jusy gives a shiver down my spine that hints towards the lore; that iruma will become the demon king. like the time he sat on the throne and everyone else froze, and the time when he got a sigil on his paper instead of his stats, and i can't forget: "in other words, he's got bottomless greed, right? it gives me the chills of the idea of him becoming the demon king."

moments like these make me remember about the deeper story within the silly irumakun. a satisfying journey of a story.

also, the mafia au of irumakun also perfectly adds more to iruma himself. we can see more of his greed in that spin-off series. not how irumean was, but just iruma being more forwardly greedy (plus the story so far is actually really good, like how can a spin-off be that fckin good????).

Something I love about M!iK and don't really see be often talked about is the morals of the story.

Shonen stories usually have to work under the same story restrictions of "power of friendship" and "we can accomplish anything by never giving up!", and while MIK certainly has that, I adore the way they twist it.

Yes, both tropes are present but taken to their absolute extreme. Power of friendship? Ok, here's a huge cast of characters who are all in some level Extremely Possesive of eachother. Never give up on your dreams? Alright, the cast are literal demons who feed on desire.

And the best part is that this is openly encouraged by the story. The story is saying "Yes, be selfish! Chase what or who you want without any shame! Take what you love and guard it ferociously because it's YOURS and no one is allowed to harm it."

Iruma's character growth is not connected to "how much more powerful can he get?" Or "how much better of a person can he be?". He's already powerful and he's already a deeply good kid. His growth is explicitly about how much more demonic he can be.

How much more tightly can he hold onto his loved ones and his desires.

How much more selfish.

Just how refresing is it to read a story where gluttony is a virtue and a goal?

Iruma-kun or Marimashita! Iruma-kun or other wise know Welcome to Demon School Iruma-kun (or just m!ik for short) is just a wonderful piece of writing.

And has even more to offer up rewatches/rereads as you pick up on all the little details, foreshadowing and what not.

Irumakun is a series of pure found family joy - with a sprinkling of Isekai- I mean he IS taken to another world. The Netherworld.

After Iruma’s idiot and neglectful parents decided to sell him off to demon - because they are to lazy to work. He finds himself the Grandson to one Sullivan or Sully. Quickly he is enrolled into the demon school Babylas and shenanigans ensue. As he meets new demons, makes friends, and tries to keep a low profile - because who knows what might happen if they discover he’s human.

- To help him keep from standing out he’s been put into a class with a bunch of rule breakers and trouble makers. Appropriately called the Misfit class.

Oh and also there are some bomb as fights in this too. Yah bet you thought this would be a saccharin sweet sunshine and rainbows. Nope there is plenty of Drama, Action, Comedy, Tragedy, twists and turns. Some you might expect while others may be more unexpected.

The first season is 23 episodes long with this second season being 21.

Yup this series can fit so much stuff.

- Mystery

-Found Family

- The group of outcasts (or Misfits in this case)

- That good friendship shit

- Your school anime tropes (clubs, festivals, studying)

- But there’s also Action,

- Suspense (to a point)

- Even more mystery

- Plot twists galore

- A large fleshed out colourful cast of lovable interesting characters

- A student council you actually root for (not the typical asshole /power hungry student council)

Oh also there are a lot of left handed characters if that interests anyone
