Could there be a balance of powers between ladynoir in season six? I think so, but I know that the writers won't do it because they don't know how to do their job and the fandom does the job a thousand times better with fanfics.

Going back to balance. There was never a balance as such between them. On s1, Ladybug did most of the work and Chat rarely did anything noticeable.

With Fu making an appearance, the chances of Chat showing off a bit are totally diminished, because the writers decided to bring in the WORST teacher, well, mediocre attempt at teacher. They tried to make Fu look like he was wise or whatever, but he does a lousy job and the best thing he could do was get off the show.

A teacher must guide those he trains and give them the same treatment and importance, especially if he says that his two students have the same balance of power. Fu favors Marinette and doesn't get close to Adrien until he is forced. If this weren't bad, he is such a bad teacher, that he leaves a terrible legacy for Marintte, Fu literally made Marinette follow his terrible footsteps in s4.

But I still think there can be a balance if the writers remember that Chat is not just a punching bag.

And this is where Cerise comes in, but let's call it Lila.

As we know, the only limit that the miraculous have is the holder and as we also know, Lila is a thousand times more intelligent than Gabriel.

We also know that Ladybug is essential for battles, because she is the only one that can purify akumas. (Pretty dumb idea if you ask me. Why can only ONE miraculous clear the akumas? What if the ladybug's miraculous is missing while the butterfly's one is owned by someone bad? or the ladybug's is owned by the same person who the butterfly? It does NOT make sense. Even so, it has been shown in chat blanc that akumas can be destroyed with cataclysm, but only before the akuma gets its victim, although this is forgotten and will never be used again). And Chat can be replaced by ten temporary heroes without problems.

but what if we make both ladybug and chat so important that they are the only ones with the power to clear the akumas?

Maybe Lila can develop her powers so that the ONLY way to destroy the akumatized object is with the cataclysm. There is no cataclysm, the akuma is still there doing damage.

We have only one akuma from the future and timetagger's akumatized object is destroyed WITH THE CATACLYSM, I'm not going to rule out the idea that it could happen, but it probably won't.

Chat has been a jester forever and is useless in most cases, but we know that he can do a VERY GOOD job when he wants to. Examples: sandboy, passion, kuro neko, etc. But I will also add this: during passion, Mari is VERY distracted because she is in love with Chat and well, she ruins it several times by being in the clouds and she had more in mind flirting than worrying about the akuma. Somehow, are they telling us that Chat was useless for that very reason? For being in love with Ladybug? If we follow that logic, then in s6 things will improve a lot for him.

(Although with so many mediocre heroes, even the baby Augustus would beat them and anyone can look perfectly)

As we know, Adrinette is canon and ladynoir is just a friendship, so with no romantic feelings involved, Chat can focus on doing effective work.

And, I think this is already asking a lot, that he wants to explore his powers more and improve in that aspect, even more knowing that he has infinite cataclysms. If they want to give Su-han a use, then they can make him a master of Adrien and Mari, not like Fu. Although between fu and suhan I don't know which one is worse in uselessness.

In s6, the akumas will be much stronger and it is necessary for everyone to take the job seriously, so I hope that they will finally give Chat the leading role and development that he deserves from s1.

(Last thing. If Chat's power is evolved as Ladybug being able to create talismans, they would do it with the cataclysm at a distance. Chat Blanc makes it clear that he can do it. When he is akumatized, Gabriel POWERS UP the abilities of Chat, there is a high chance that Chat could use cataclysm from a distance at some point.)

I’m going to stop you there. Yes, I am an adult person who is aware teenage romance doesn’t have a great track record of being lasting in real life. But Miraculous Ladybug: Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir is FICTIONAL.

If the writers decide on a convincing arc for Maribug and Adricat being “made for each other”, then yes, I will ship them. I considered them an OTP for years, actually.

UNFORTUNATELY there was a multi-season storyline of Ladybug keeping important secrets from Chat Noir that was not fully addressed and pushed aside.

UNFORTUNATELY as of the season 5 finale, we have Maribug lying to Adricat about his very existence as a son of Monarque and his status of being a Sentimonster.

So no. I don’t ship it anymore. And I’m actually kind of bummed this fictional relationship I invested in for years is dead to me.

Not to sure how to phrase this in a way that doesn't sound like Marinette salt, but I was curious about the morality of this option.

Since the show since s4 goes on and on about how unbearable every walking moment as Ladybug is now for Marinette to the point where she can do awful things to people and abuse her powers without ever being asked to finally learn from it and improve bc that's too stressful and horrible to Marinette

Well, at what point is it just the reasonable thing to do to propose Marinette giving up her Guardianship so she can go back to being a normal girl with a normal life?

It would be a loss, but let's not pretend like Marinette is gonna loose 90% of her life. She would loose A YEAR which was supposedly so torturous to her that she now thinks she's the embodiment of Truth and the Queen of Reality?

Just go to Suhan, tell him her job was defeating Hawkmoth and that's done now and she doesn't feel like she's suitable anymore to continue. She wants her normal life back, all she's asking for is that she gets to tell her parents first so they can properly go about this.

Overall, making it happen that the people in Marinette's life think she had some sort of accident (maybe even through being the victim of magic) that left her tragically without memories of the last year is doable. Anyone who claims otherwise is just making up excuses.

What would she even loose besides her status as the new anti-hero Queen of the Galaxy (that is 10 seconds and one disagreement away from her villain arc)? She will keep all her friends, her family will be in the know and take care of her, she will keep Adrien, she has a promising and bright future ahead of her anyway, and she only lost ONE year. Not a lifetime. One year.

The only 'loss' she would have is Cat Noir but season 4 and 5 made it very clear that he has no room in her life beyond being her battle care taker and pet to sacrifice. We saw it the entire time that he and his presence mean very little to her in her real life and she doesn't want him to be part of it. She has no interest in getting to know him either. We saw it in Kwamis Choice, this is not a real loss for Marinette. She'd get over it in a week at most.

So what exactly is stopping her from dipping out when apparently every breath she takes is torture now so she "gets" to take that out on everyone else to make sure SHE is fine before all else?

Just leave. You HAVE the option of leaving it all behind you! Tell Suhan and Alya to watch out for the new Butterfly wanting to drag Marinette back into it and call it a day. At that point Marinette would be of no use for Lila to target anyway if she actually wants to accomplish something with the wish. If Marinette isn't Ladybug anymore and has no memories of anything then Lila will never accomplish anything by going after her. Just LEAVE. At what point is that just the logical thing to propose when Marinette herself has no connection to shit and only makes it worse for the victims?

I don't mean this in the salty way, that's a genuine question. Marinette is not owed to reign the universe as Ladybug and have victims because she had a shit year. And very obviously this role is VERY BAD for her mental health since that's her never-ending excuse for making things worse for other people and not doing her actual job as Ladybug.

Yes she's 14 years old, but that's also it. She's a 14 year old in a position that's now clearly doing herself and the world more harm tham good because she's not cut out out right now to be a super hero guardian leader who has to take care of PEOPLE and VICTIMS before herself. There is no reason for her to continue staying in her position that'll only make things worse. Just leave. UNLIKE MOST OTHERS YOU HAVE THE OPTION.

The only thing I can think of is “people are counting on me!” but, like, girl, you're not irreplaceable. Anyone somewhat heroic could be Ladybug and would be more motivated to do it than Marinette “I knew Gabriel was Hawk Moth and intended to ignore it” Dupain-Cheng (although, I’m pretty sure that writers will retcon that dereliction of duty by the time season 6 airs). She only hangs on to her position because it's a pattern for her to just whine about how badly she has it while doing nothing to try to change things even when she's the one with all the power and control.

Marinette clearly doesn't want to be a superhero, she always has complaints about her job and "saving people" isn't exactly a passion of hers. She's far more enthusiastic about doing more mundane favors for people, which is why she actually wants to be and likes being class president. The difference between how Marinette treats her class presidency and how she treats her roled as Ladybug/Guardian couldn't make this clearer. Even pre-retool, Marinette never voiced any kind of enjoyment towards her role as Ladybug, and post-retool, she only brings up having superpowers and the Kwamis as a perk to Alya. Basically, the thing she gets out of being Ladybug is feeling special.

The reasons we can come up with for why Marinette has to keep going on as Ladybug while it's clearly ruining her mental health are all pretty self-centered. She thinks she's so much better at being Ladybug than anyone else that she's irreplaceable. She can't stand forgetting a year of her life because that's her life and her remembering it is more important than the people she's harming, including herself, by upholding the status quo the way she does. That's her title and she should get to keep it because it's hers. She's so important, valued, appreciated and celebrated as Ladybug that she couldn't possibly go back to being just plain Marinette, because she's so blind to how beloved she is and how much people celebrate her mere existence that she probably thinks she’d be left with nothing and no one.

Not the plan to keep Adrien safe from anything. Because the plan was explicitly about manipulating him into exposing a major vulnerabilty to someone he trusts by lying to his face, and then to relay that information to someone he didn't trust without his consent for dubiously defined reasons.

The plan designed specificly to take Adrien and Plag's rights to decide their own lives out of their hands, because Su-han knows that Chat was the only thing that prevented him from succesfully getting the miracle box back the first time around. So Su-han's insistance on needing to know Adrien's identity definitly has nothing to do with his previously established goals of stealing the miraculous back so that his shady-secret-cult in tibet can monopolise magic for ill-defined purposes.

You mean THAT plan right? The one explicitly designed to violate Adriens trust and emotional vulnerabilities? The plan about prioritising the vague and undefined interests of a weird old-dude Marinette's only met three times over her partner who known for over a year. The plan to share vital, life-threatening information about his secret identity with what amounts to a complete stranger?

Ephemeral Reveal Hot Take

So, I'm honestly happy that Ephemeral ended with a retcon. Because let's be honest: That reveal should not be allowed to be cannon. I don't think anyone will disagree with me that, we all want the reveal to be the ultimate moment of trust betweent the two of them. The moment where they both admit how much they can rely on eachother to keep eachother safe and don't need to keep secrets from eachother anymore.

this reveal, was many things, but it was most definitly not that about trust. They tried to sweep over it by having marinette change her mind later. But what happened was a simple act of manipulation and betrayal by Marinette, who basically defrauded him of his secret identity. The whole thing happening under false pretenses that it would be a mutual trust deal, only for her to reveal she never intended to trust him in return. To further take away the one thing Adrien knows, while keeping him in the dark as he's been since day one. It would've been one thing if the shock of it being adrien caused her to chicken out from nerves, that would've been forgiveable (and admittedly in-character), But as it's explicitly clear that marinette never intended to reveal herself...

And yeah, Marinette does come clean later. But the key-word there is later. Only when she realises that it's Adrien, only so she can date him. Not because they trust eachother but because the power of ladyboners is stronger then Su-Han's orders. I don't trust Su-han, I don't trust the order in general, but i especially don't trust his suspicious reasonings. I just hope that whenever the reveal happens for real, his cultist ass has nothing to do with it.

Cause OOF, toxic Marinette stans are getting more and more validated by the show now. I thought season 4 Ladybug getting to cherry pick Cat Noirs rights in their partnership fully on her terms alone while leaving him fully oblivious to the actual offenses was bad enough bc it validated Marinette stans in their thinking that Marinette focused morality is all thats important... but now THIS with Lila?

Man I hope season 5 is not going to sacrifice even MORE characters for Marinette focused black-and-white morality. Chloes humanity was also already thrown out of the window bc she is Marinettes bully and therefore unworthy of spmething resembling an happy ending and Ladybug was declared above the long lost guardian culture she is in posession of its most important object their lifes and culture was dedicated to... bc oh boy Su-Han is a man and yelled at her. That sure excuses Marinette being written to completely disregard the entire guardian culture, traditions and set rules in her own guardianship she had no idea in what shes doing (how could she?) while doing whatever she wants to the long lost cultures holy relic and its spellbook.

But what does that matter? he YELLED, the horror. Invalidate the whole celestial guardian of the Miraculous, he yelled and asked marinette to follow important rules so he can only be redeemed by bowing to her, begging for her forgivness and doing whatever she says. Yay. its not like Suhan always ended up giving into what she wanted in season 4 so maybe we could have had an ounce of a compromise in this? no? Oc not...

I miss the first two/three seasons so much. I once enjoyed Marinette ALOT as a main character but ever since season 4 everything that goes against Marinettes will is either dehumanized or even demonized by the show or drowned in respect-women-juice™ until it gives in...

I hope Kagami and the rest of the class are not going to get that treatment either (Kagami because shes Tomoes daughter and she might be used in s5 by her, Lila or whoever in a way that opposes Marinette, and the class.. well, LILA is in the resistance.. and GOSH I hope the show will let Alya know about Lila's actions real soon or else she's gonna get salted to all hells again

...I'm confused. I'm guessing you're talking about the trailer where we saw Lila cutting Marinette out of various photos she's in? I don't get what this has to do with "validating" Marinette-centric morality or anything like that, I think everyone agreed that Lila hates Marinette, whether they like Marinette or not.

I don't think that Chloe not getting a redemption arc (not yet, anyway) has anything to do with Marinette-focused morality. While she might have slightly more of a focus on Marinette, she bullies everyone, not just her. Chloe not getting the Miraculous back has to do with her really not being that great of a person in general, not just because Marinette doesn't like her.

As for the whole deal with Su-Han - frankly, he IS a jerk. Yeah, sure, Marinette had the super important object that their culture and traditions center around and are dedicated towards... but that object is the Miracle Box. With the Miraculous in it. Which are sapient creatures with their own opinions on things who have decided that they really like Marinette and the way she does the job of Guardian. "Respecting someone else's culture" isn't really a thing when that culture involves mistreating sapient creatures who prefer to NOT be treated like that.

And also when there's currently a major threat against the city you live in. If the tradition endangers the ability to stop people from getting hurt, then stopping people from getting hurt overrides that tradition.

I don't particularly like Su-Han kow-towing to Marinette and begging for her forgiveness, but that's more because it makes him seem pointless as a character. What's the point of making him this big old asshole who stands in her way and yells at her, and then folds and begs for forgiveness at the slightest bit of pushback? Either make him a genuine obstacle that she has to struggle to overcome (and who changes his mind about Marinette gradually, after she's had to make a lot of effort, not just by yelling at him a little), or make him genuinely helpful early on, don't do this weird thing in the middle.

I don't think the show has dehumanized or demonized everyone who's gone against Marinette? Not now, not in season 4, and not before that, either. Some of Marinette's biggest fans have done that (anyone who's followed me for any amount of time knows of my virulent hatred for Saltinette and everything that comes with her), but the show itself? No, not really.

I think Kagami is safe, no matter what the show does with her. There are five characters who the Saltinette crowd consistently champion as great, who're almost always shown in a positive light in saltfics, who're usually part of Saltinette's posse: Marinette (naturally), Felix, Chloe, Luka, and Kagami. I doubt that anything canon does with Kagami is gonna change that group's mind about her, not after they've been using her this way for four years.

Alya... yeah I'm more afraid for Alya. If there's an excuse to demonize Alya, I assure you, it will be taken. I hope that Alya finds out that Lila is actively malicious soon as well, and that we get a Fox vs. Fox storyline. Alya deserves it, with how badly she's been treated by the saltdom in part because of Lila.
