𝑯𝑨𝑷𝑷𝒀 𝑽𝑨𝑳𝑬𝑵𝑻𝑰𝑵𝑬'𝑺 𝑫𝑨𝒀, 𝑱𝑶𝑯𝑵𝑵𝒀'𝑺 𝑮𝑰𝑹𝑳 ۵
Pairing: Johnny Storm x Fem!Reader
Warnings: innuendo of sex, mention of sex, inappropriate language, Johnny being a cute boyfriend. Not yet reviewed.
You and Johnny have known each other since high school, through Reed. It turns out that having a similar IQ to Reed made you his best friend, when he met Sue, you were forced to meet Johnny Storm. At first, it was annoying, you hated his playboy and womanizing ways, he was always flirting with you and you had to put up with it every single day. It got worse when he and the others took the space trip where they gained their powers, he was always showing off his flames and attracting attention. You had to put up with him every single day, again, when you helped Reed officially found the Fantastic Four. Johnny was always winking, flirting, and touching you... until you discovered that everything he said was more real than the Thing's fake wig.
Johnny changed, the womanizing side was left aside, he changed for you. He fell madly in love with you just like you fell in love with him. He was always trying to make you feel special, in his own way. Sometimes when you were angry, he would bring you flowers, when he accidentally set them on fire because he was nervous.
Being Johnny's girl was not an easy task when your boyfriend is the most coveted and most admired man by women in New York. York. Even though Johnny told you every single day that you were his girl, you couldn't help but feel a pang of jealousy and possession when some random girl flirted with him, sent him letters with lipstick on his mouth, or winked at him.
But despite the jealousy, being Johnny's girl also had its good moments. All of New York knew you're the girl from the Human Torch:
Before heading to the Baxter Building for a day of work as Reed's assistant, you walk towards the coffee shop. To say the least you were late and that was never like you, the girl who was always right, punctual, intelligent and Reed's sweetheart. You blame the delay on your sister-in-law, Sue, who kept you up late showing you the wedding dresses she intended to choose for her wedding to Reed.
You enter the coffee shop, the bell ringing as you enter the place with the aroma of several different types of coffee. As soon as you approach the counter, the manager immediately smiles and says to the attendants the usual:
"Johnny's girl espresso!"
Johnny's girl. The title caught on everywhere and you loved being his girl. I mean, who wouldn't love to be Johnny's girl?
You were in the laboratory, making notes on what you and Reed could do to make HERBIE's intelligence more up to date, the robot was part of that crazy family of superheroes. You were doing it alone as Reed was busy making new installations in the Baxter Building, Sue and Ben were decorating the building with decorations for Valentine's Day.
Then your attention is taken away when you feel your reading glasses come off your eyes and Looking up, you see your boyfriend putting his glasses on his eyes and giving a charming smile.
"What do you say?" He strikes a playful pose, flexing his strong biceps through that skin-tight jumpsuit that makes you look horny just by looking at it. “Do I look smart and sexy?"
You pretend to roll your eyes and look at him, taking his glasses off his eyes. "No, you look even more stupid."
"Hey baby, that was mean of you." Johnny says placing his hand on his chest and pouting dramatically. "I'm Johnny Storm, I'm sexy and hot even if I were bald."
Johnny's smile was enough to make your legs go wobbly and you thank God you're sitting down. Johnny on the other hand, grabs your hands and pulls you up so you can stand up and he wraps his arms around your shoulders. "How's my girl?"
You smile, hands stroking his strong biceps on your shoulders. "Actually, I want to eat something."
"Really?" Johnny whispers, his brown eyes turning a darker shade and his voice full of desire. His hands, covered in black gloves, went down to your ass and squeezed lightly. "Because I'm hungry too. Very hungry."
You look at him, your eyebrow raised and biting your lip, because Johnny always had an insatiable thirst for you that happened when you least expected it and in the least expected place.
"Uh, uh." You place your index finger on his lips as he leans in to kiss you. "Last time you did this, we ended up getting laid here in my lab..."
"Yes, and it felt fucking good." He growls, biting your finger playfully.
"But it wasn't cool when Reed found out and had you wash the Fantastic Car with an old toothbrush after Ben ate nachos and burritos." You remind him and he groans in disgust at the memory.
"I'm going to ban all machos and burritos from this town." Johnny says with a look of disgust, but soon replacing it with a smirk. "But come on, we'll be careful this time. My girl likes naughty thrills."
Yes, damn, you did after you met Johnny and didn't know each other anymore. Johnny managed to corrupt Reed's innocent assistant with just carnal acts. You couldn't complain, the sex with Johnny was incredible and mind-blowing, after all, he had a lot of experiences before you.
But despite that, you deny it, maybe because Sue and Ben were walking back and forth with their Valentine's Day decorations, it wouldn't be nice to be caught by Sue or Ben.
"I promise that tonight beautiful lingerie awaits you in your dorm." You say smiling and Johnny's eyes light up like a child just getting candy.
"A lingerie, huh?" Johnny smiles. "You know, I wrote this in my letter to Santa Claus, but I didn't think I'd get the gift so soon. Any special reason?"
Typical of Johnny forgetting the dates and not noticing all the Valentine's Day decorations lying around . Sometimes he was distracted, like the last time he got lost on a car trip because he got distracted watching two ants having sex
"Today is Valentine's Day." You say, wrapping your arms around his neck. Johnny tries to hide his surprise with a smile.
"Y-yes, of course I did. I haven't forgotten. Pff, I would never forget the date of our first kiss." Johnny says. "Me? Never!"
You nod, suppressing your smile, finding his denials about not having forgotten that date cute. "Did you hear that?" Johnny says suddenly and you frown, not hearing anything. "Ben is calling me, he must have gotten stuck in the toilet again. I'll see you later, I love you!" Johnny kisses you before running out the door.
"I love you too." You say, even though he was already gone.
It was almost seven in the afternoon and you were locking the lab to go to Johnny's dorm floor to do the who promised, you were eager to say the least. This night would be unforgettable.
Or not.
Ben runs towards you looking panicked, panting as if he had run a marathon to get to you. You look at him confused, finding his behavior strange.
"Johnny was attacked on the terrace! We need his help!" Ben says.
His words were enough for you to run to the elevator and press the button for the building's terrace several times. Once there, you look around trying to find Johnny, already expecting to see the worst of your boyfriend.
But there was nothing.
Then, the sky is lit by something strong with yellow and orange colors. You look up at the sky and see your boyfriend flying with his body full of flames, waving at you with an arrogant and passionate smile on his lips.
You can smile in relief as he slowly flies towards you and extinguishes the flames when he lands on the floor.
"Ben said...oh my god, I'm going to kill him." You say hugging your boyfriend tightly. Johnny smiles, hugging you back and placing a kiss on your forehead.
"I'm fine, I asked him to do it." Johnny says, pulling away a little to look at your face, a smile playing on his lips. "You know I've always liked a dramatic entrance."
He points to the sky and your heart pounds with love for your boyfriend when he sees the sky in flames, something he did for you, written: I love you, my girl.
"Happy Valentine's Day, baby." Johnny whispers in your ear, gently kissing your ear.
"I love you." You smile, looking into his eyes and then up to the sky where Johnny's statement was written with his flames. He lit up the sky for her for all of New York to see his love for her.
"I love you more, my girl." Johnny kisses your lips, with love and fire. His lips moving against yours, bringing butterflies to your stomach. He pulls away and puts his forehead against his. “Are you still going to wear that lingerie? Because I think big Johnny is ready for action." He points to his groin.
You laugh, nodding your head. "Yes, my love."
You're definitely Johnny's girl.

The Fantastic Four Movie Problem: A Pulp Peg in a Hero-Shaped Hole.
There's been a lot of attempts to make Fantastic Four movies, and none of them have really worked.
(I made the best one biggest. Fight me.)
I know why.
It's because the Fantastic Four, while being in the superhero genre, are not superheroes. They are adventurers.
They have more in common with these guys:
Than these guys:
And it all comes down to story structure, particularly in the origin episode.
Superheroes are by nature reactive. They respond to threats, protect people, and generally act as a blend of rescue worker and (usually) nonlethal sheriff. They are the heightened-reality version of the helpers of Mr. Rogers' philosophy. Doomsday shows up, you stop Doomsday. If there's no crime, you're not doing anything that day.
But the Fantastic Four, and particularly Reed, are adventurers. They go and find their trouble. There might be vague rumblings of something strange or unusual seismic activity or whatever to initiate the adventure, but Reed isn't waiting for the phone to ring so he can punch a bank robber, he's making plans for an expedition to Monster Island or he's built a doorway to the Negative Zone for the express purpose of exploring another universe.
The Fantastic Four go looking for interesting things and find trouble when they get there. The main exception to this is Doctor Doom, and the rush to make him the main villain in the first film is a rush past a glorious feast to go straight to the dessert.
It's like starting Holmes off face to face with Moriarty from day one, and it puts the Fantastic Four in the same do-gooder box as the rest.
It chops out their most unique aspect, their proactive nature, that all their personalities hinge on: It informs Reed's obsessive need to know and how it warps his priorities. It feeds Johnny's thrill-seeking and recklessness. Ben's mutation is the cost of that drive taken to the point of hubris and informs the spirit of the whole team. And Sue, who is the most traditionally superheroic in her outlook, has the codependent role of keeping her loved ones safe despite their self-destructive adventurism.
It's a long standing fandom joke that Reed is an asshole.
It's not unwarranted, but the whole team is a dysfunctional but still caring family, each with similar flaws. A thing that the adaptations often lose because they wind up being overly bicker-y to make up for the more static, reactive superhero format, and blaming Reed for them being freaks is easy pathos.
If they were treated as the pulp adventurers they are in spirit, you'd have a lot more chances for them to bond as each leg of the journey into the Savage Land runs into natural hazards and lesser foes on the way to the climax fight.
In short: Pulp it up.

Since you read all of Ultimate Fantastic Four, what do you think of the series?
Gave me an understanding of why shows like Keeping Up With The Kardashians are popular. Something about following trashy people can be oddly compelling and entertaining. Ellis and Millar’s sections were the strongest of the run, with Carey only getting good towards the end. Ellis spends a lot of time “realistically” explaining how the powers of the Four work, and used that same approach to the Ultimate takes on Doom and the Negative Zone too. Millar in contrast is throwing out cool ideas to see what sticks (zombie F4, everyone gets superpowers, spiders that eat time travelers, Doom pulls a Superior Spider-Man on Reed) and doesn’t particularly care to explain in depth how any of it works. His is the most entertaining section of the UFF and the one where the premise really shines. You get to see the potential of a less squeaky clean F4 in terms of what stories can be told, all of the Four get character focus even if in the case of Sue and Johnny it only makes them more unlikable.
I already talked about Reed but regarding the other three:
Ben is more or less the same as his 616 counterpart. Pissed at Reed for his transformation, angsts over it and is terminally depressed, but when his team or world needs him he brings the clobbering. Thing’s best moments are ironically in the President Thor arc where he has no powers. Scene at that end where he beats the Super Skrull to death for genociding Earth is peak Thing. Ben Grimm rules no matter the reality.
Ultimate Johnny is a moron. A well-meaning moron with a (small) heart of gold to compensate for having no brains to be fair. He has some good moments like clueing Reed in that Sue likes him at the start of the series, and being willing to give up his powers if it means curing Ben as an apology for an incredibly asshole “joke” he plays on Ben earlier. But he remains a shallow fratbro for the entire run, with only the death of his father at the end of the series (thanks to Ultimatum) pushing him towards bettering himself. Bendis’ usage of him in USM is superior to how he’s used in UFF imo.
Another unintentional foreshadowing here that I loved. Sue goes on a mission to Siberia alone after Reed alienated himself from the rest of the team because he was obsessed with shooting the Cube. Sue gets shot down and Johnny blames Reed for it, threatening to burn Reed to death if Sue dies. Follows through on that threat after Reed DOES hurt Sue in Ultimate Doom! Within the arc itself Johnny comes across as an unstable prick, but people probably feel more inclined to side with him knowing what Reed will become. I however saw how you could feasibly make Johnny a bad guy, imagine a world where Sue does die and Johnny is the one to go off the deep end. Can’t see 616 Johnny ever breaking like that, but this guy could have.
Sue… is much, much worse than her 616 counterpart. Most writers, even great ones like Hickman, don’t know what to do with Sue. At best she’s the “mom” and that’s her entire character. She takes care of the kids and nags the rest of the team. Ultimate Sue being unmarried means that they can’t fall back on that so instead they make her whole personality being a woman. Mole Man and Namor are sex pests towards her, she gets kidnapped because one villain wants to use her to resurrect his wife and the other villain wants to steal her powers because she thinks they’re wasted on Sue. Everything about her revolves around the men in her life, even breaking her and Reed up merely leads to a new permanent relationship between her and Ben.
Sue’s biggest fear is becoming her mom, who is a selfish asshole who abandoned the Storm family because she valued her career more than them. Suppose that means she’s attracted to Reed initially because her mommy issues made her think she could get Reed to pick her over science where she failed with her mom. She’s constantly showing off skin to titillate the readership. Arcs focused on her were the worst of the run, and that breakup scene at the end of UFF: Requiem managed to make her shooting down a marriage proposal at her dad’s funeral unsympathetic. All these legit reasons to break Sue and Reed up for good, and they went for the one that makes Sue as unlikable as possible. Yeah how dare Reed not prioritize saving you over saving the planet!
If UFF exists on a spectrum with Reed being morally sketchy even prior to his breakdown, and Ben essentially being the same as his 616 counterpart, Johnny and Sue are right in the middle with Johnny edging towards the heroic side and Sue leaning towards villainy. People have forgotten this but Ultimate Sue had two evil futures where she broke bad. One where she becomes Kang which was Fialkov trying to justify Reed’s transformation into Maker, and the other in a completely forgotten F4/X-Men crossover where she becomes an evil dictator in an alternate future after Johnny gets killed in Ultimatum, with Reed opposing her. God that entire story was a fever dream, on its own it’s mediocre as hell but every goddamn reveal hits ten times harder when you know what’s coming.
Damnit this was a punch straight to the gut. In said future Reed becomes Nihl, no matter what it seems he was destined to emulate one of the Four’s foes. Biggest takeaway from UFF for me is that I could buy Ultimate Reed, Sue, or Johnny breaking bad. All three are shitty people with poor emotional control and narcissistic elements to their personalities. Reed simply had the misfortune to be the one Bendis chose to shove into the deep end.
Ultimate X-Men is the only Ultimate series I haven’t read yet but right now I rate UFF as the weakest of the ones I have. It’s not bad by any means! Actually I quite enjoyed it depending on the arc. Unlike USM and Ultimates however I don’t think UFF does anything better than the mainline FF book. Tellingly that while MCU adaptions of Spider-Man and Avengers borrowed a lot from their Ultimate counterparts, the FF seem to be drawing entirely from 616. UFF works better as a contrast with the mainline rather than as an entry point to the franchise for new readers.

“I’ll tell you my deepest, darkest secret,” Johnny said softly.
Peter hesitated. He couldn’t imagine Johnny having any secrets - he was so bright and honest, shining like sunshine. He certainly couldn’t imagine him having any dark secrets. Not like Peter, with his secret identity. But still, he was tempted. The desperate desire to have one single other soul besides himself know the truth. The unshakable certainty that he could trust Johnny. A growing curiosity about what Johnny might consider to be a deep, dark secret.
Johnny was looking at him, still and hopeful at his silence. “A secret no-one else knows, not even the Four,” Johnny continued, knowing he had a chance.
A secret for a secret.
“Tell me,” Peter said, “and I’ll consider telling you.”
“That’s not fair,” Johnny said. “I have a public identity. If you tell everyone my secret it could ruin everything we’ve built. If you tell me your identity, I probably won’t even know who you are.”
Johnny had a point. Still Peter stalled. “I don’t even know what you consider an equivalent secret,” he said, though he was worried by Johnny’s assertion that it could ruin the Fantastic Four. Had he killed someone? “For all I know, you might be talking about forgetting to feed the inter dimensional cat and blaming it on the Thing.”
Johnny huffed. He looked tense, and Peter knew it was something bigger than that. He was about to relent, when Johnny started talking.
“When we first got our powers, Reed went on and on about how we had to show the world that we were heroes, we were good guys, and that we were just normal people. He and Sue were just a normal couple, in love, planning a wedding, they just had superpowers and fought bad guys. That Ben, underneath his rocky exterior, is still just a guy from Yancy Street - he’s still human. That I was just a normal teenage boy who sometimes struggled with school and dated pretty girls.” He looked Peter dead in the eye. “And all I could think was that I hadn’t managed to tell them yet that I wasn’t… that I was…” he swallowed. “That I was gay.”
Peter processed this. Johnny looked so nervous, so uncertain, and all he knew was that Johnny shouldn’t ever look like that. Johnny should be glowing and sparkling. A radiant sun.
He yanked his mask off without ceremony. It was a fair trade.
“My name’s Peter Parker, I’m from Queens.”
And then they fall in love and bonk. Probably before the bonking Johnny helps protect Peter’s secret identity, and Peter tries to help Johnny publicly date girls/listens to him crushing on guys (before finally realising that the reason he hates the entire charade is because he wants to date Johnny himself, damn it).
Just a sudden idea that came into my head like five minutes ago and I thought I’d get it down. Maybe I’ll expand and write more, maybe not. I’ve got other WIPs that are higher priority.

Fire & Ice, Chapter 3
Word Count: 936
“Wh-where are we?”
Your carbon copy chuckled as she gestured around herself, “this is the place where my world ended…Johnny had snuck me up here...he wanted me to see every part of his life; including the superhero stuff even though I wasn’t interested.”
“Wha-what happened?”
She sighed, “Well, me and Johnny were making love in Reed’s machine when Sue found us. We’d accidentally started it, but nothing happened…at least, we didn’t think anything did…but that was the blip that started it all. Only, I didn’t know it at the time. Turns out, Sue had a visit from another version of herself, and she found out about my mind control abilities. Her other self thought that I was controlling Johnny and convinced her that I was.”
“But you weren’t?” you asked slowly.
She shook her head, and you noticed a few tears streaming down her cheeks, “I-I loved Johnny...I would never do anything to hurt him. And that includes Sue. I never wanted to hurt her. But she was going to knock Johnny out. They’d started fighting because she‘d tried to tell him that Reed needed to study me; to figure out how I got my powers, because it wasn’t like how they’d got them, and if people were mutating then they had to know why. But he didn’t want Reed anywhere near me. She’d had him pinned and I knew she was going to knock him out and come after me…so I used her blast against her, and she became impaled on some of the loose metal bars that Reed had left out.”
“Jesus…”
“Johnny knew it was an accident…he never held it against me…he was upset, sure, but he never blamed me for Sue’s death. But Reed-he was a different story. He hated me because of it. Him and Ben called me a murderer. But the only person we had ever hurt was our sister…and we were so young. That was an accident too…” she said as she rushed up to you, “you know that, right?”
When she touched you, you saw the battle between Johnny and Sue play out.
You saw how he wasn’t using his powers against her; he was only being defensive.
And you saw her take advantage of the fact, knowing that Johnny didn’t really want to fight her. Especially after Johnny pushed the version of yourself back into the machine to keep her safe.
But she was desperate to get to him. She froze the mechanical components and broke through the door just in time to use her mind-control abilities to bounce Sue’s forcefield back into herself, throwing everyone in the room in separate directions.
She’d knocked herself out, narrowly missing death herself, but that fact didn’t matter to Reed or Ben.
No, the only thing that mattered was that Sue had died.
“How did we get here?” you asked.
Your question cleared up the room once more, and you saw her standing beside you, holding onto your hand.
“Simple enough...the last blip!” she said simply, “I think I was meant to write the wrong.”
“The wrong?”
“And I created a diversion downtown,” she whispered in an ashamed tone, “I did what I had to…I needed to show you why this place is important.”
Your eyes trailed to the tv where the desecration of downtown was playing out on a loop. Your stomach turned as you saw a version of yourself freezing people and forcing them to harm themselves or simply unable to move because they were being controlled.
You turned to her, “y-you hurt people…you said that the only person we ever hurt was our sister. That-”
You took a step back and she reached out, cutting you off, “I did what I had to do, April. We were brought here for a reason. We were meant to change our path.”
“I-I’m not on a path!” you said quickly, pulling yourself even further from her, “I’m not some murderer. I don’t hurt people. Leave me alone!”
“We need to kill them, April!”
“NO!”
Her nostril twitched and her gaze turned to an angry one as she scoffed, “I knew that you didn’t have it in you. I could see it the second I walked into that café and saw you flirting with him. You’re weak! You don’t deserve the chance.”
“Wh-what?”
“I’ve been watching you for weeks, April,” she hissed, “ever since they last saved the city. I saw how you were being coy. I saw how you showed him your powers but kept everyone else in the dark. You wanted him to see you…to chase you…BUT HE’S NOT A GOOD GUY! HE WAS GOING TO LET ME DIE! HE’LL DO THE SAME TO YOU, BECAUSE WE ARE THE SAME!”
“WE’RE NOT THE SAME!”
“WE BOTH FELL FOR JOHNNY STORM WHETHER YOU WANT TO ADMIT IT OR NOT!”
“I WOULD NEVER HURT PEOPLE!” You screamed, “YOU’RE THE MONSTER, NOT ME!”
“You’re right…but there is one canon event that can stay the same…” she growled, “one thing that doesn’t have to change…and then I can take over this universe.”
“Wh-what?”
“Goodbye, April!” she smirked as she pushed you hard against the window.
You screamed as you felt the glass breaking behind you. It all felt like it was happening in slow motion as you felt weightless. Your eyes widened as you realized that you were falling out of the Baxter Building.
She had pushed you out of the building.
Her eyes were glaring into yours as the top of the building became further and further away.
The canon event...she wanted you to die, so that she could take your place.

Earth X #5
Thor seems different than usual.
It’s probably the braids.
Earth X: what you get when you ask Alex Ross to write a Kingdom Come tier story for Marvel. It is Bad Future! Uatu the Watcher has been blinded and he’s forced Aaron to be his seeing eye robot.
If you’re wondering what their dynamic is, it’s this:
The world is a mess with mind-control squids and body-control forever teens. Everyone has been mutated and Reed Richards blames himself. Many of the heroes we know are dead, retired, or in the clutches of the squid or the kid. And the world may be destroyed by vibranium or humanity may super-evolve into space gods.
As we go on and learn more about this setting, there are more and more plot threads.
Captain America in a flag yoga and Wyatt Wingfoot went to California to investigate the Skull, a horrible teen with the power to control people. The Skull took Wyatt for his growing army but left Steve alone because it was funnier that way.
While Steve sits and despairs about the hopelessness of the situation, circus Daredevil shows up and offers to become Steve’s new sidekick.
I am alarmed that this guy is relevant to the plot.
Also… I’m kind of wondering if he’s supposed to be Deadpool. Not actually Wade Wilson Deadpool himself but he has a lot of Deadpool energy and almost nothing to do with Matt Murdock. Alex Ross usually doesn’t like anything introduced after the death of Barry Allen but I wonder if he liked Deadpool enough to want to include someone like him.
This circus Daredevil is given an actual origin in a prequel from a few years back but the idea is sticking in my mind.
He’s red and black, he wants to work with Cap, he’s got an irreverent sense of humor, and he’s got a healing factor so strong he can’t die and has little self-preservation instinct anymore.
Anyway.
The Inhumans continue their journey to find their missing prince. Last issue, Reed Doom promised he’d help by getting a Cerebro and reprogramming it to find Inhumans. He takes off - using a teleportation device made out of Lockjaw… Aww, best doggo is dead? This really is Bad Future.
Reed leaving causes the Doombots of Castle Doom to suddenly register the Inhumans as intruders.
Their fight against the bots leads Medusa and Luna to discovering Dr Doom’s time platform… and Reed’s notes on it, reflecting he really wants to use it to save Sue from exploding but he doesn’t know when he’d stop altering history if he started.
Elsewhere, Cyclops is contacted by Corsair, Havok, and Polaris. FROM SPACE!
They know something bad is going to happen to Earth and want to bring Scott away to space safety.
He refuses to leave without Jean, even though she chose Wolverine over him in the love triangle.
Also, when Alex Ross doesn’t like a character, you know it. And he seems to hate Wolverine.
The appendix reveals that all the psychics are dead (Professor X, MODOK) or depowered (Jean).
Not sure yet why but it means there’s nobody to counter the kid or the squid.
Over in New York, Kid Bruce and Gorilla Hulk visit Sorcerer Supreme Clea.
Clea and Wong explain to Bruce that Strange’s astral form was destroyed while it was out of his body. His body still lives but he’s essentially dead. And that’s why Clea is sorcererly supreme.
So Bruce explains what he’s there for. He’s been having the oddest recurring dream.
Of Captain Marvel on his Death of Captain Marvel deathbed. In the dream, he rises out of bed and shows the assembled crowd of friends, allies, and respected enemies that he has the universe inside him. And then dies.
A universe inside a person sounds to Clea like Eternity. But Eternity is dead. Despite being the universe. Not sure how that happens.
Bruce really wants Mar-Vell to explain the dream to him so he asks Clea to dunk him into the Realm of Death.
I feel like there’s intermediate steps you could try but what do I know.
And geez, Bruce’s dream of the universe inside a dude and visiting death to interpret it on top of the world possibly ending and superpowered menaces running amok with nobody to stop them… This universe is a mess.
(By the way, the appendix notes that Carol Danvers is the current Captain Marvel and that she’s in space helping the Kree on their destroyed capital. So Earth X gets two more tallies for things the 616 would copy later.)
Now then. Let’s talk cover Thor.
Earth X wants to paint the entire history of Marvel with one brushstroke. Superpowers and even super genius is the result of Celestial meddling.
The gods were mentioned in issue 0 as being in conflict with the Celestials but I guess Ross didn’t feel like actual gods fit the picture he was painting.
On Earth X, the Asgardians aren’t gods. They’re super advanced shapeshifting emphatic aliens with no personality of their own who take their identity from those who observe them.
They came to Earth and were viewed as the Norse gods so the Norse gods they became.
Their powers became what people expected them to be. Their personalities became what people expected them to be.
I have no idea how this alien race of blank slates managed to invent space travel.
I don’t particularly like this worldbuilding idea for Thor’s slice of Marvel. His mythos feels diminished if it’s just aliens play-acting old stories.
Anyway, girl bod Thor is fighting some storm giants that made their way to Midgard* alongside the Iron Avengers, who Thor treats as friends.
*Earth
Tony Stark in his isolation somewhere tells the Iron Avengers to respond to another crisis because Thor’s got this one handled.
Vision in a cool hood wants to argue, feeling Tony is being manipulated by President Norman Osborn but ultimately does what Tony asks.
Back of the book appendix info: when the mass empowering event started, Tony sealed himself in isolation, afraid of being changed. He didn’t know but Scott Lang Ant-Man snuck himself and his daughter Cassie into Tony’s isolated environment to try to protect her. But she wound up changing anyway. And now they’re stuck because they can’t leave without compromising Tony’s sealed environment.
The people outside that were mutated came to resent Tony for not being mutated so kept trying to attack his bunker or whatever. So he created the Iron Avengers and gave them his dead friends’ personalities.
Honestly, I can’t wait for the issue that focuses on Tony. There seems to be a lot to unpack.
Also in appendix news, Osborn went on a secret killing spree of supervillains before he took power. He wiped out a lot of Tony’s rogues gallery, for example. And he was never elected as president. He just had himself declared as such and a jaded mutated populace went okay whatever.
Earth X is a mess.
After fighting off the storm giants, Thor calls Loki out as responsible for the attack.
Interesting new design Loki. Could do with you being less interpersonally gross though.
Unsurprisingly, Loki is behind Thor’s new look, having somehow tricked Odin into turning his brother into a woman as his latest trial of humility.
And if Thor goes back to Asgard to tell Odin that Loki is up to his shit again, Loki will lock Thor away from Earth so he can’t stop his evil scheming.
This is a weird plot point.
I’ve heard that it inspired Jane Foster Thor but I’m pretty sure both this and Jane Foster Thor were inspired by the What If where Jane Foster became Thor.
Thor seems only mildly irritated by this whole thing but sheesh, with everything else going on why throw this in?
Earth X is a mess. Captain America is demoralized and wearing the flag as a toga. Cyclops is depressed and lost the love of his life, again. Spider-Man is depressed and has a Venom daughter. Reed is depressed and blames himself for the state of the world.
And Thor has been rule 63’d. But at least he’s not depressed?

Question: Do you prefer the FF stealing the rocket or do you prefer it being an authorized mission? I don't think I've seen an instance where the former was adapted that I'm aware of so it got me thinking.
I think it has to be an unauthorized mission because the message it sends about these guys is way more interesting. if it's an authorized mission, then these guys are no different than the actual crew of Apollo 11 (one of my very minor complains about the test footage for MCU Fantastic Four is precisely this point). But if the rocket is stolen, then suddenly these guys are ambitious, daring, and fearless. Thick as thieves and always looking forward! Even without superpowers, these guys were always gonna get up to hijinx together.
A weird found family doing crimes against their government? What is this, a queer polycule?
But the real power of the moment is what comes after, because it was an incredibly stupid decision to steal that rocket, driven by a need to upstage the soviets in a stupid war. Their need to compete against a foreign power, to indulge in the American spirit of being a winner and ignore safety concerns directly led to their powers, and therefore their curse. Of course they don't see them as curses anymore, but Reed still feels like he needs to make up for his shortsightedness. Everything he does is a plea for forgiveness for what he did to his friends, even if they feel he doesn't need to apologize anymore.
If the trip becomes an authorized mission, then all that thematic underpinning goes out the airlock. Now the cosmic rays are just an unrelated accident instead of direct consequences. There's potential for obfuscation of blame which weakens the guilt Reed is supposed to feel over the incident.
Now credit where its due, Fant4stic (2015) DID include the plot beat of them stealing the rocket (or in this case the teleporter) but I think it ruins what could've been a great moment by making it a decision made while drunk. Sure, it's still an action driven by short-sightedness and pettiness, but now there's this excuse that they're intoxicated, which I think is a pussy move. It's another issue of obfuscation of blame muddying the themes its going for. The fact that Sue Storm wasn't even included in this drunken plot is an especially egregious snub. Sue was completely on-board with the heist in the original story, and it was Ben Grimm who was the hesitant one. She called him a coward and that's what broke his balk.
Anyway be gay and do crimes. If you're lucky, you'll get superpowers.

What do you think of the rumors about them potentially setting out Pietro x Monet and Wanda x Loki relationships. There are some really fun potential interaction there if the writers do go there but it's a bit of a shame how Wanda x Jericho and Pietro x Emily have basically been wiped from exsistance.
I'm also so happy to have Quicksilver in a book again (though sad his darker colouring from recent comics have disappeared)
I ship Pietro/Emily & Wanda/Jericho very much and always will. Marvel doesn't have the best teack record when it comes to poc relationships in comics so it was really nice to see the twins have something.
I don't think Wanda/Loki will last but it could be fun, I don't expect any comic relationship to last forever unless it's Reed/Sue. I am interested in Pietro/Monet but it's a pairing I would have never thought of on my own. I'm just worried it's gonna be another barely there relationship like in the past. Even Emily barely had any time with Pietro.
I think if Marvel actually put effort into the twins having well written romance relationships then it might kill them. Either way seeing Pietro again is something I'm anxiously awaiting. Though I'm very behind on my Wanda reading and need to catch up later.
Pietro & Wanda's skin tone in comics has always been a neglected subject and while I know there are white passing Romani people and having characters like that is important I also really loved the twins having brown skin tones in the recent comic appearances. I wish Marvel actually cared about keeping on top of colorists and giving every colorist a rule book of skin tones for characters but Marvel rarely gives support to their artists. And yes I am blaming editorial for this because most of the time artists & colorists don't know everything about a character and are overworked.

You mentioned not liking some parts of the show (usm), could you elaborate?
Oh boy where do I start😭😭
A few obvious complaints would be the fourth wall and overuse humour. The humour just felt very forced and shoved on my face and the fourth wall wasn’t helpful, if anything, I found him to be pretty annoying but not as annoying as Marvel’s Spider-Man, I couldn’t go past the first two episodes of msm unlike usm😅😅. The fourth wall did work well in the Deadpool episode since Deadpool is the KINGG of fourth walls break unlike Spider-Man, it basically felt as if Peter was another version of Deadpool with the constant fourth walls.
At least it changed in the last seasons but the show at that point kinda sucked for me.
Another complaint would be the characters. I love the team, I really do, but they just were kinda bland for me. They were assholes to Peter and never saw them interact with each other if it wasn’t Spider-Man/ SHIELD related. I wouldn’t mind if the show started with them disrespecting Peter and then visually appreciating his leadership and learning about his reasoning why he does what he does up to the first 2 seasons, in the show they just act like coworkers or kids forced to partner up for a school project. It unforgivable on my part that they wouldn’t appear again in the 3rd and last seasons since I actually grew to care for them in the 2nd season.
SHIELD was also an issue for me. I HATEDDD how Fury just spied and followed a 16 yr old boy just to recruit him and taking over his school life, the only normal part of him being Peter Parker without the need for Spider-Man. As well as the amount of cameras in his house which honestly was pretty disgusting😭 like why do they need a camera in the bathroom and the bedrooms????? I understand the intention but c’mon, the bathroom and bedroom???
A small ick of mine would be the lack of THE Johnny Storm and Fantastic 4 in the show. We had THE Thing, aka Ben Grimm, and freaking HERBIE, A FREAKING ROBOT FROM THE GROUP AND YET THEY DONT GIVE US JOHNNY STORM😭😭😭
I would KILLL for Johnny and Spider-Man to appear together and have an episode together to see them interact. Spider-Man would’ve geeked out with Reed Richards, he would have a pure sisterly relationship with Sue Storm. I was just soo disappointed😭😭
And to top it off, the main MAIN complaint of the show would be Spider-Man himself and how the writers handles him.
Aside from his fourth wall breaks and humour being annoying to me, his voice was slightly annoying😅. I would blame it on the direction of the writing since Drake Bell voicing Peter Parker in The Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes was very well done, he was given a proper script in that show but in usm, he just…was eh. I gotten used to his voice in the show but it’s not my favorite, I usually prefer Josh Keaton from Spectacular Spider-Man or Yuri from the PS4/5 Spider-Man games voices when I write Peter in my fics.
I very much hate how a ton of Peter’s struggles were stripped away. Such as balancing school and Spider-Man, his grades dropping, his relationship with Aunt May, finding a job to support him and his aunt, how his relationship affects not just Harry but to MJ as well.
In the show, nearly everything was solved for him. He doesn’t stress about school and his grades cuz SHIELD is now taking care of that issue for him. He doesn’t worry about a strained relationship with his aunt since Aunt May is already working alll day and can sneak out easily without her knowing so no stress about curfews. Apparently money isn’t an issue in his life despite living in a 2-story house in Queens, New York that expects the yearly income to live there being over $44k(got that from GOOGLE 💀). Peter not interacting that much with Mary Jane is odd since apparently they knew each other for years, much longer than Harry, and yet Peter interacts and prioritizes Harry more than MJ throughout the seasons.
It honestly just feels as if the Peter Parker life is slowly being stripped away by his Spider-Man alter ego. There’s more Spider-Man struggles than Peter Parker struggles and it gets even worse in the last season with the SHIELD Academy since its JUST Spider-Man in the season. He eats, sleeps, and most likely showers and poops with the costume on💀.
The entire point of Spider-Man is maturity. He’s a kid forced to grow up into an adult after Uncle Ben died with Aunt May being the only one in his life to protect and support. The show just took away that struggle from Peter and it was just extremely disappointing to not explore Peter’s life. They focused more on having Spider-Man being a cool character than focusing on how cool Peter is as a person aside from being Spider-Man.
This show has a soft spot in my heart. I grew up with the show and introduced me to characters like Iron Fist and White Tiger but the premise wasn’t well handled.
#i had to include my rant of the lack of Johnny Storm#show had a good premise but the execution was a bit of a let down#asks#i would still pick this show over msm tho#sorry 😭😭😭

Marvel's Injustice.
My pitches for NRS inevitable Marvel game if they go the Injustice route.
Game titles
Marvel:Disassembled
Marvel:Dark Reign
Avengeance:Fall Of Midgard
Story ideas.
Scenario 1. Disassembled. Tony Stark's suit of armor around the world phase goes into complete and full effect. Get the right event to trigger it and I think Tony could be sent into Superman mode where he establishes a regime for the world’s protection. Tony takes full control of S.H.I.E.L.D. and the world by force. Captain America would rise up and lead a band full of heroes who are willing to do what's right and stop Tony Stark and the regime. Final boss fight. We choose between either Cap or Iron Man. If we choose Cap, then we fight Superior Iron Man, if we choose Iron Man, then Cap.
Scenario 2. Avengeance:Fall Of Midgard. human like Norman Osborn or Red Skull sneaking into Asgard with Loki’s help to kill Odin and Lady Sif. Events would manipulate the death of Jane Foster. Blaming Asgard and Midgard for not dealing with Loki and his associates for their many schemes, Thor decides to make changes. Thor is broken and the once Mighty son of Odin, turns back to his old ways and becomes a despotic king of Asgard. Thor wages war on Midgard. Years later Thor has taken over the entire world as well as Asgard, and rules it with an iron fist. Villains that don’t agree with him or opposes him are seen as threats are sent to the negative zone. All mutants are forced to register to work for the regime or be depowered permanently and imprisoned. Final boss fight is Odinforce Thor.
Scenario 3. Dark Reign. The Skrull Royal Family, escaping from the Mad Titan Thanos, strikes a deal with Norman Osborne to conquer Earth in a secret invasion. Queen Veranke of the Skrulls kidnaps and poses as the Scarlet Witch to destroy the Avengers from within. In the chaos, Norman betrays the aliens in order to get his hands on their technology. He is able to place his own Dark Avengers as the new Earth's Mightiest Heroes with the aid of Loki's illusions. Loki manipulates Norman to lead a siege of Asgard using advanced Skrull weapons. The Avengers must reunite along with new heroes to topple Osborne and Loki's Dark Reign once and for all. Post-Credits Scene: As Loki's manipulations come crashing down, he pulls a last ditch effort and influences the traumatized Wanda to use her reality-warping powers. He forces her to say the 3 words "No more heroes". Final boss fight. Iron Patriot.

Tony: Remember when we gaslighted Steve so we could destroy a whole dimension before it colapsed with ours therefore avoiding a bigger number of casualities but also killing milions.
Reed: Yes. It was a low move.
Tony: Remember how I got the whole blame even tho you were just as responsable as I was?
Reed: It wasn't exactly like that-
Tony: Well, dear friend, I got my revenge.
Reed: Oh fu-freak. Are you in another villanous phase?
Tony: Worse.
Reed: I don't understand.
Tony: I'm dating your ex.
Reed: What? I have no exes. My heart was always and only Sue's.
Tony: See was that denial that made you two break up.
Reed: If I keept saying to her I wasn't her boyfriend then I'm cleary not her ex.
Tony: Normally yes, but you somehow got to date him while lying that this wasn't the case.
Reed: Him?
Tony: I got the crown, bitch.
Reed: Are you... are you dating Doom?
Tony: Vicbabe is really hot.
Reed: That's terrfying.

Fearless (HMA 4) chapters 11 & 12
Click to see the rest of the snark & image descriptions
Click here for the rest of the series!
Chapter 11
“Forgive the interruption,” he said in his smooth, accented voice. A distant part of my brain realized it was a little like Mr. Wentworth’s, but with less of his soft lilt.
British. The word that you are looking for is “he had a British accent”.
“Shall we see what kind of creature lives inside the Marrow Princess?”
Chapter 11 summary: Some random dude interrupts the lady before she can actually start a fight with Vail. However, he doesn’t introduce himself, and insists that he only drove the lady, Sue-Ellen. He gets back into his car after this. Again, without introduction.
Vail goes into the arena, where the others are like “Well, if she’s the clan Luna, then she can stay!” Jasper isn’t happy, though.
Jasper and Holland start to fight. But then a bunch of stuff happens, and both Jasper and Vail end up being drugged. The man from the start of the chapter shows up, and he’s gloating and laughing. Acting like he’d paid Holland in order to lure Jasper out. He doesn’t care about Jasper, or even Holland. They were lures to get to Vail.
Apparently, Jonathan got this dude to come out, and “take a look at my granddaughter”. The dude says that he “wants to add Vail to his collection”. Gross.
Chapter 12
Brown fur rippled across Marnie’s arms as she demanded, “You left him there?”
Chapter 12 summary: Jasper is unable to move, and feels helpless as he watches the creep standing over Vail holding another one of those containment collars. However, this is enough to convince his wolf to come back, so it can’t be all that bad. After a moment, the creepy dude, identified by Jasper as Chrysler, leaves.
Holland then decides to play dirty, and tries to take Vail as his hostage. This forces Jasper’s wolf to take control, and he quickly kills Holland.
Outside, a different random lady is crying over Holland’s body. (Where Sue-Ellen went is anybody’s guess.) Ruby is crying and blaming all of this on Jasper… despite the fact that it was Holland who issued the challenge. Ruby gets angry and says that Jasper is “tainting the blood with a void”, so Vail transforms her hand into a panther paw to show that she can transform. That obviously shuts Ruby up.
They get into the cars and go back to the clan cave. Except once they’re there, they find Pearl and Marnie holding one of Jasper’s little brothers. Marnie is upset because I guess Pearl left Reed at the Marrow compound.

If you were in charge of the new Ultimate line and had to assign creative teams to five books, which books would you make and who would you put on them?
Obviously Hickman needs a book but generally I would like to see:
Ultimates - Written by Jonathan Hickman and drawn by Bryan Hitch. The flagship title that drives the line. Whatever Hickman wants to do with them works for me, I doubt I could come up with a better pitch than he can.
Ultimate X-Men - Written by James Tynion IV and drawn by Alvaro Martinez Bueno. Look Tynion would never do it, he's making bank with his creator owned work, and I'd rather have him do a DC cape book, but he's who I would pick to write this. Mutants coming together in a world that hates and fears them, but with a twist: they're not out to win over humanity. This version of the X-Men is primarily focused on protecting mutants from humans, and part of the change is because who is on the founding team this go around. My choices, restricting it to five like the original X-Men team, would be Cyclops, Wolverine, Storm, Forge, and Emma Frost. Emma taking the position you would usually see Jean in helps justify this team being more militant. She's pushing Cyclops and the rest towards going on the offense. Senator Kelly wants to pass an act aimed at forcing humans to register and build Sentinels to kill those who won't? The X-Men frame him in a way that destroys his political and personal life. Hellfire Club is trying to assert control over mutants? Blackmail them into backing off. It's an X-Men team that is more morally gray than we're used to seeing, and is primarily focusing on countering human bigotry at first. Later we would see Magneto show up and the X-Men react to him.
Ultimate Fantastic Four - Written by Christopher Cantwell and drawn by Federico Vicentini. Cantwell has written both Doom and Reed before, and I think he would kill it on a F4 with a villainous Reed and a Doom that could be heroic. Two pitches come to mind like I mentioned in my previous Ultimate Universe post. Either this team is a traditional Fantastic Four with Maker back in the role of "Mr. Fantastic", but concealing that he remembers the old timeline and is biding his time while he studies this new universe, or it's Dr. Doom taking Reed's position as leader of the F4 while Maker serves as their primary antagonist. Reed back with the FF would make for great tension, you have this guy that everyone thinks of as a great hero - which Reed deliberately goes along with - all the while the other three don't yet realize that he's a monster. Maybe Reed is aiming to kill off Ben and Johnny (Ben for "betraying" him when Reed first turned and "stealing" Sue, Johnny for burning his face and being annoying in general), but keep Sue this time. So the tension is that Reed wants to get Ben and Johnny killed off but doesn't want Sue to blame him, so he's trying to maneuver the two into getting killed by one of their villains in a way Sue won't blame him for, all the while he's also wooing Sue to embrace his outlook on life. Alternatively you go with Doom as leader of the F4, with the new Ultimate Universe being a timeline where Reed is the one who gets fucked up by the events that give them their powers this time. Maker still remembers the old timeline and is pissed that he somehow has ended up even worse off this time around, with Sue, Johnny, and Ben pitying him and chafing under the leadership of Doom who is just barely a hero.
Ultimate Spider-Man - Written by Donny Cates and drawn by Ryan Stegman. This is who I would put on a Peter book. Would be a standard Spider-Man book just like the Bendis one was, only I would have it set in Peter's college years because I'm sick of high school Peter.
Ultimate Black Panther - Written by Geoffrey Thorne and drawn by Sanford Greene. Thorne has wanted the gig for ages, and I liked his post Hickman Secret Wars pitch for the character, from what I remember it was T'Challa patrolling economic zones Wakanda had established internationally to share some of their tech and improve life on Earth elsewhere. Doing that with a "Year 2" T'Challa is my pitch. He's established himself at home and is trying to turn Wakanda into a superpower via sharing it's tech with the world through certain economic zones. He's allowed ordinary Wakandans to leave the country and travel abroad. Wakandan conservatives are pissed at him for doing that, while the liberals are angry T'Challa still has left the strict immigration laws for outsiders intact. Other global powers are eyeing this new player warily, particularly the United States and China. T'Challa has plenty of enemies at home and abroad who are aiming to bring him down, and he has to use his brains, tech, and the power of the heart-shaped herb to stay on top.
