In which, Y/N is a little stubborn gal who works in a summer camp, and Harry- unfortunately, is one of her co-workers.

It was another day, which means it’s another day of little giggly kids dragging her all about anywhere. Y/N loved kids to death, but they do get a bit pesky sometimes. She walked to the reception desk of the camp she worked at, as she filled in a piece of paper, when the oh-so familiar voice called out to her- again.

“Hey darlin’,” 

She closed her eyes, not wanting to deal with Harry’s butt. He’s been annoying her since the day she started working for the summer camp, which was just about two months ago. He did everything in his power to annoy Y/N, but she just didn’t understand how he could find some kind of satisfaction in the multiple annoying deeds he chose to do.

“What do you want, Harry? If you can see, I’m doing things that are actually worth my time. So why won’t you please, leave me alone and start doing something productive other than continuously annoying me?” Y/N spoke out, batting her eyelashes as a sweet sarcastic smile took over her face. Her smile soon fell as Harry’s laughter filled her ears.

“You know the drill, honeymunches. Go out with me and maybe- just maybe, I’ll leave you alone.” Harry smirked as he leaned over the counter of the reception.

“You know, I would gladly flick you off if I can, but seeing as I’m in a facility surrounded by children, I won’t do that for it can cost me my job.” Y/N replied, emphasizing the word job.

Harry’s smirk fell as he scratched the back of his head. “I’m sorry- I just- I just wanted to take you out, you know? I really really really like you.” Harry smiled softly as he stood still. This made Y/N’s heart, well soften a bit, just a tiny bit.

“Show me how much you like me, and maybe- just maybe you can take me out.” Y/N smiled as she grabbed her clipboard, walking away from a smiling, smitten Harry.

Weeks passed as as each day progressed, Y/N felt closer and closer to Harry. They would spend their free time laughing at each other or at ridiculous and unfunny jokes, talking about events happening in their lives, like how Harry almost choked on a slice of pie, to which they laughed at for one week straight.

Harry felt himself falling even deeper for Y/N, just the way her eyes crinkled when she laughed, the sparkle in them when she saw something she liked, the blush that rose up her cheeks whenever he complimented her and the smile that graced her lips when she was around children, made him smile and fantasize the moments with her when she finally becomes his.

Today was yet another day of working, Y/N was sitting in one of the benches when she felt a poke in her shoulder, already knowing who it is, her smile grew bigger as the sight of the familiar mop of curls filled her vision.

“Heyy!” Y/N said as she stood up and gave Harry a kiss on the cheek. Harry was definitely taken aback, because from the weeks of hanging out with her, he never got anything affectionate, just a few short hugs here and there but not a kiss.

“I’m bringing the kids to the swimming pool, would you like to go with me?” Y/N offered. “Of course, why would I pass up chances of being with my favorite girl?” Harry replied with a smirk, emphasizing the word favorite as Y/N’s cheeks turned into a crimson red. 

“Oh shut up, c’mon!” Y/N replied, grabbing Harry’s hand and practically dragging him. Y/N felt herself falling for Harry, but she wasn’t one to admit feelings, so she told herself to wait until she can’t wait anymore.

Moments later, they found themselves sitting on the park benches, as Y/N leans her head on Harry’s shoulders, Harry draped his arm around Y/N’s shoulder. In this way, it hurt less for him to think that they weren’t a couple by acting like they were.

They stayed like this for a few moments before a little girl ran up to them.”Are you guys like my mummy and daddy?” The little girl asked. This made both of them straighten out their posture, leaving each other’s touch.

“No, no sweetpea, were just friends.” Y/N replied with a smile, as the little curious girl smiled back and ran towards her friends. Y/N leans her head again but this time, Harry didn’t drape his arm around her shoulder.

Minutes passed yet they still stayed in the same position, Y/N’s head leaned against Harry’s shoulder and Harry sitting still as stiff as a tree. This confused Y/N, it wasn’t the behavior he was portraying just minutes ago.

“Are you okay?” Y/N asked as she looked at him straight in the eye. Harry refused eye contact, which made Y/N even more confused than she was.

“Harry?” Y/N asked once again. “What?” Harry snapped, looking over at Y/N. Y/N’s eyes widened, beyond shocked at the tone of Harry’s voice. She wasn’t used to this kind of Harry, hell she never encountered this kind of Harry.

“I just- why are you mad all of a sudden?” Y/N questioned him. “I’m not mad.” Harry curtly replied. He scooted, giving space to both of them. Y/N knew there was definitely something wrong.

“Was it what I said?” Y/N replied, scooting closer. Harry sighed, “I don’t know Y/N. Why do I keep on bothering you when were nothing but just friends. It’s okay Y/N, I guess I’ll just find someone else. Plenty more fish in the sea, right?” Harry painfully chuckled as he attempted to stand up.

“Wait Harry!” Y/N said as she pulled him back, “Y/-” Before he can even finish what he intended to say, Y/N smashed her lips against Harry’s, eyes closed as both of them moved their lips in sync. 

“Wha- what was that?” Harry asked, a dimpled smirk adorning his beautiful face. Y/N blushed as she scratched the back of head. “I-I like you too. I just wanted to wait until I can’t wait longer. Guess I couldn’t wait longer after all, for I can lose you.” Y/N smiled, “Didn’t you know you can lose your job by kissing in font of little kids?” Harry laughed as he took Y/N’s hands in his.

“You’re way more important than some summer camp job.”
