the thing about aplatonicism is that just like aromanticism and asexualism, it doesn't inherently mean you don't want friendships, every individual apl person has different needs and wants in regards to friendship and each person will go about it differently.

I for example am aplatonic and don't specifically feel platonic attraction as in, i don't feel a drive to befriend people. I don't get "friend crushes" or ever get the desire to befriend specific people. I am personally, very open to the possibility of friendship if someone else approaches me and we vibe. I am not platonically attracted to them, but I also do get enjoyment from socializing with others in that way and can become attached to them, etc. Platonic attraction does not equal caring about someone/being good to them. Attraction is not moral in that way. it just is.

Just like how some ace people still enjoy sex, even without sexual attraction. Some aplatonic people still enjoy friendship, and some don't. And that's okay! There are so many types of relationships out there that people can form and explore what makes them happiest and it looks different for every person and that's such a wonderful thing.

Card game mechanic idea: You only play 1 card per turn, but (most) cards have slots to add "bonus cards", and (most) cards have a "bonus effect" that applies when they're used as a bonus card. Like, a card that has a healing effect could have a weaker heal as its bonus effect, a card that deals damage might have a bonus that increases the damage dealt by the main card.

This gives a way to diversify cards without needing a resource system. Power can be scaled by having different numbers of slots; you can make weaker cards that have 3 slots, or strong ones that have 0.

There's also variety to be had in the bonus effects; two cards can have the same main effect but different bonus effects. If a card's main effect is kinda strong, it can be balanced by having a weak or nonexistent bonus effect. The strength of bonus effects can also be varied by requiring a different number of slots.

They look like… is it forget-me-nots? They’re flowers that Ghostbur likes; he loves the blue, and he likes the name as well. Says it’s wonderful to find a flower that’s “good all around” or something.

Finally, Wilbur settles on something, because he taps the screen once before lowering his hands, keeping hold of the phone and letting a song play from it. 

Guitar. That’s what starts this song off. 

Tommy tilts his head. He’s never heard this before. It’s a new song to him. 

But it’s… pretty. As far as the first bit goes, at least; all gentle guitar and soft singing, all that. It sounds like something Ghostbur would like. 

And then the chorus comes around, and Tommy’s eyes widen a little bit as the lyrics hit his ears.

“Jesus, my heart, your home. Jesus.”

Tommy flicks his gaze to Wilbur, inquisitive. 

Wilbur gazes back, even and calm. 

The song continues playing, and after a few seconds, Tommy turns his attention back to it. He’s paying more attention to the lyrics now. 

“I will sing for you, all my days. Always quick to give you praise. When I was in sin, you saved my soul. No greater love will I ever know.”

“Do you go to church?” Tommy asks, because he couldn’t keep the question inside his chest any longer.

Ghostbur shakes his head, eyes wide. “I’m not hurt.”

“Wh… why did you fall, then?”

Ghostbur exhales, blinking once or twice. “I’m just a bit tired,” He whispers. “Just a bit tired, Tommy.”

“Just tired?”

Ghostbur exhales again, saying nothing.

It takes about a minute for Tommy’s laughter to subside, leaving him breathless and a bit tired. “Oh, Wilbur. What- what’d you wanna be after that? A conman? Or like, a McDonald’s worker or some crap.”

“Close, actually. I got really passionate about hot dogs.”

Tommy can only stare.

Wilbur smiles. “What? They’re good. I thought it’d be fun to sell them, in a little hot dog van.”

“I’ve named that cloud G-Major-Seven,” Ghostbur suddenly announces, and Wilbur bursts into laughter.

“Do you think…” The words instantly feel wrong in Ranboo’s mouth, and he swallows them away. I shouldn’t ask this. I shouldn’t say this.

“Do I think what?”

Ranboo cringes. Tommy already heard. “Um.”

Tommy tosses his necklace into the air, catches it. Tosses it again. “Were you gonna ask me if I think girls are hot?”

Ranboo’s face burns. “No!”

“Because you know my answer to that, boss man. They are so hot.”

“Shhh! Someone will hear you!”

“Every girl, every last one of ‘em!” Tommy turns to point at Ranboo for some reason, widening his eyes. “If you see a girl, tell them they’re beautiful. Girls like nice words like that.”

“Um… n-no, I wasn’t… going to ask you that.”

“Oh.” Tommy looks up, watching his necklace twirl through the air before it lands in his open palm. “What were you gonna ask, then?”

He shouldn’t tell. He shouldn’t say. He doesn’t even want to, anymore.

But Tommy’s not going to leave him alone until he does.

Ranboo sighs. “Do you think I’ll ever get a Master?”

The necklace lands in Tommy’s hand again, and it doesn’t go back into the air.

Tommy turns to look at him. Ranboo stares straight ahead at the water fountain. “What kind of question is that? Come on man, of course you’re gonna get a kriffin- Jedi Master, one day. Every Jedi does.”

“Every Jedi except me.” Ranboo closes his eyes, silently praying that no one other than Tommy is listening to this conversation. He should have faith, he knows, but he doesn’t think he has any. And that feels wrong.

“That just means you’re-”

“Different.” Ranboo swallows. “I’m different.”

“Well… of course you are. I mean, have you looked at yourself in the mirror?”

Ranboo smiles weakly. “Not just that kind of different.”

Tommy’s quiet—a rarity.

He’s waiting.

Ranboo swallows again, opening his eyes. “I mean… ev- every Jedi, my age, has a Master. All of them. It’s not… Tommy, it’s not normal to go this long without getting apprenticed.”

“But you’ve never been normal.” Tommy’s voice isn’t cruel, and sure enough, he leans his head in Ranboo’s direction, adding, “And that’s not a bad thing, I don’t think. It just means, you’re uh… good.”

“Good?”

“Yeah. Different means good.”

“Not… all the time.”

“Nah. Tommy Innit ain’t ever wrong, my friend.” Tommy turns his head towards one of the tall, sunny windows placed around the room, squinting. “Different means good.”

Ranboo fights to hold back his sigh. “But you have a Master. It’s probably, like… really easy for you to say this. You’re not the one who’s different. It’s just me.”

Tommy goes quiet again. This time, it’s Ranboo waiting.

But Tommy doesn’t say anything.

Ranboo sighs.

Taking a deep breath, she straightens and says, “I don’t want Peet to be lonely.”

“He’s been doing just fine for himself all these years, I’m sure a simple walk to the river will-”

“Just because he’s been doing fine doesn’t mean he hasn’t been lonely.” Leeli looks up at Peet. He doesn’t look back at her. “And I don’t want him to be lonely anymore. Even if it is just for a short time.”

Podo watches her, a sigh pushing through his nose. “Leeli-”

“I don’t think we’ve been very nice to Peet since he started living in Glipwood. I know I always haven’t.” Leeli bites her lip. “And that was wrong, because everyone was made by the Maker and the Maker loves everyone, and I think we should love everyone just like He does. Everyone should have a friend.”

She says the last words quieter, reaching up her hand and gently gripping Peet’s socked fingers. He grips back—even gentler—before letting go just as quick.

Ghostbur gently bites his lip. “I still don’t want to. I’m sorry, Dream.”

Dream doesn’t say anything to that; after a few seconds, he begins to dig again.

Tommy looks up at his brother, and Ghostbur stares at Tommy’s hand. His breathing is starting to get loud.

“Hey.” Tommy bumps Ghostbur’s shoulder with his own, but gently so that none of them tip over. “You’re okay. This’ll be quick, yeah? It’ll be real fast.”

“I don’t want to get a shot,” Ghostbur whispers, and Tommy’s heart squeezes.

Ghostbur kneels down, peering at his brother’s face. His brow furrows slightly.

“Why do you look like you’re about to start crying?” He asks, as gently as he can.

The shine in Tommy’s eyes gets brighter. Ghostbur blinks, and then there’s tears slipping down Tommy’s face, across the cleaned bruises and plastered cuts, and Tommy’s body jerks as he sniffles, and he’s making awful noises that make Ghostbur feel like he’s drowning again.

“Oh, oh no! What’s wrong? What did I do wrong?” Ghostbur reaches out his hands, hurriedly brushing away the salty water as he swallows. “What’s wrong? What hurts?”

Tommy shakes his head, bringing up his own hands and wrapping them around his brother’s wrists. “‘S not you.”

Ghostbur’s eyes widen further. “Then what? What’s wrong? Why are you crying?”

Tommy shakes his head again, and he tries to answer but no words come out, only awful sounds, and then there’s new tears coming from his eyes.

Ghostbur starts wiping them away, trying not to breathe too quickly even though his lungs want him to. Tommy’s crying. He shouldn’t be. He shouldn’t be crying. Ghostbur was supposed to make him better—he did make him better! He did the right things, he cleaned off the cuts and put plasters on them. He brought Henry for Tommy to hold. He did good things. He did right things.

Ghostbur was supposed to make Tommy better, but Tommy’s crying, so he’s not better.

Ghostbur feels very scared. He wants to breathe quicker, and he wants to run away, and he wants to shake his head and smile and pretend that nothing is wrong, because wrong things make his head hurt. Ghostbur feels very scared.

But Tommy needs him.

“Hey, hey,” Ghostbur soothes, brushing his thumbs across Tommy’s face. Tommy is crying. Ghostbur’s fingers are wet. “It’s okay. It’s okay, Tommy. You’re okay. You’re okay.”

Tommy sobs, and his hands tighten around Ghostbur’s wrists, and he’s breathing too quick.

Ghostbur’s eyes flicker. “You need counting. I think that’ll help.”

Tommy keeps crying.

I hate it when he cries.

“One,” Ghostbur starts, looking down at Tommy’s chest and taking note of all the dirty bits and smudges on the sweatshirt. “Two, three, four… Tommy?”

Tommy’s hands tighten.

Ghostbur looks up at him. “You’re supposed to count with me. That’s how counting helps.”

Tommy sobs again. Ghostbur’s heart hurts with his head.

“It’s okay,” Ghostbur soothes, but he’s starting to think that it isn’t, and he brings himself up until his eyes are level with Tommy’s, and he gently presses their heads together and he keeps his thumbs on Tommy’s face to stop tears from rolling down. “We can try again. It’s okay.”

He takes a breath. “One, two, three…”

Tommy joins in at six, and his voice sounds awful. He doesn’t sound like Tommy. He doesn’t sound good.

Once they reach ten, Ghostbur starts over, and this time Tommy joins at one. His voice still sounds awful.

Ghostbur closes his eyes. Tommy’s hair is soft against his head, and every few seconds he’ll feel Tommy jerk or sniffle or cry harder, and he makes sure to not move away, because Tommy needs him.

They count to ten a total of fourteen times. Tommy’s voice sounds like Tommy by the last number, and Ghostbur’s fingers aren’t quite as wet.

He still sniffles.

“It’s okay,” Ghostbur tells him, and even though they’re not counting anymore he keeps his head pressed against Tommy’s, and he doesn’t move away. “It’s okay. You’re okay. I promise you’re okay. I promise you’re okay, Tommy. You’re very brave.”

Tommy whimpers.

Ghostbur remembers holding Tommy in one hand. Tommy used to be very small.

He lets out a breath. Until those seven minutes are up, he’ll look at the sun—the window, more precisely. The window in his bedroom, orange and streaming with warm sunlight, casting its glow onto half of his bed. He stands in the doorway, watching it all. He can see dust particles in the air.

It’s a pretty thing. He can admit that. This evening in summer, it’s pretty. He thinks it might be good.

He shuts his eyes. In six minutes. In six minutes, it’ll be gone. I won’t have to look at it anymore.

So the concept of humans being death worlders is a little silly to me because for any species to become advanced they would need high pressure to evolve. That means a lot of danger. Now I’m sure there’s other ways it can happen but i feel like that personally. Now anyway-

I like to imagine in this scenario earth is relatively not as bad as people make it out to be.

And one day an alien comes to earth and sees just how adoptive humans are to other species and animals. Like perhaps this isn’t a common trait where they are from and seeing humans with animals and children of other parents and species is like :0 !

They’re just like omg wow this place is so nice

Y’all are so caring

And then humans are like “lol wait till you see the animals” and point out how animals also adopt a lot especially domesticated ones. But there are also a few solid instances like this and the alien is even more like

I always thought it was kind of weird how humans are the primary animal on earth to adopt other animals but not so much the other way around. But as I got older I realized it’s actually a pretty common thing on earth. Whether it’s with human intervention or not. Like dogs will take care of human babies (ones that are apart of the “pack” per se) but there’s also lots of examples of wild animals taking in other wild animals and caring for them. And I just think that’s neat :)

I found some concept art of Dagur and just feel the need to share for anyone who hasn't seen it yet. I'm soo glad they went with the one we got.

No offense to the other designs, but I just think it fits him better. I personally like Dagur being a redhead anyway, so I'm partial to those designs. But let's not focus solely on that.

The one in the middle underneath the official design looks like Gustav turned into somebody's creepy uncle. Could be a neat character, but he doesn't have the commanding look of a new chief or threatening villain.

Beneath that, there is 0 chance Stoick is letting him and Hiccup be unsupervised long enough for Hiccup to almost get drowned. This man looks like he's at least in his late 20s. Step away from the child, sir. Plus, he's so buff that it wouldn't have allowed for a nice visual passage of time with Dagur growing up more in prison.

To the left of that...I kind of want to see this guy as another character. I think he could be interesting, but again, too old to have been Hiccup's semi-playmate. Back to the hair (one more time, I promise), I like that Dagur's one of the few characters with thick hair, so it would've been a bit of a shame for it to be as thin as it is in this design.

The one to the right with the dark hair for some reason reminds me of Grimmel. I think it's the build. He looks a little too lean since they always make a big deal about Hiccup being thin.

I don't have much to say about the top right or the one diagonal from it. They look a bit too old again to seem like a kid just became chief, but that's it. I like that the one has tattoos, though.

Of the batch, my favorite concept one is the top(ish) right with the red hair. He's big, but he still looks youthful. I could imagine him being 18-19 and just having a muscular build for his age. That devious smirk too! He is up to something for sure. If I had to pick one reason why I'm glad that's not the official, I'd say it's because it almost reminds me of a traditional bully design. I think he's going to be giving Vikings wedgies and that might just be all the cartoons I've watched.

Hello hello! Shifting from the romance for a moment would be neat I think — how about full HCs for what the M6 are like as friends for the MC? Like when the MC is in a relationship with one of them/someone else, but is friends with others. Who stays at their place until 3 am sharing Tea? Who's the protective friend? Who's the "hi I'm outside let's go do something" friend? etc.

So non-judgemental it's almost concerning sometimes, you could straight up admit to killing someone and he'd just summon a shovel and ask you where the body is without missing a beat

Wherever they're currently residing you are always welcome. No matter the hour or circumstance, if you need a place to crash or just want a change of scenery it's open to you

Of course he won't hesitate to randomly show up at your door to crash at your place either, this goes both ways

Somehow, wherever the two of you might end up hanging out, Asra will 7 times out of 10 find a body of water and suggest swimming in it

Will accidentally forget to tell you when they go out of town and then reappear three weeks later and be genuinely surprised when you're relieved to see them in once piece (they're working on that)

Nadia is a jaw-dropping combination of insanely busy and scarily available. After learning what it's like to be lonely once before, she's not doing that again and prioritizes you along with her other friends

For starters, she has a set weekly time for the two of you to meet that she almost never misses and fiercely protects

And that's just the base standard. The palace is permanently open to you, whenever you want to drop by, whether that be to see her or just to enjoy the gardens for a bit

The Villain! but could any of these titles have more significant meanings?? charlie is the only other character outside of our hero who has been theorized in the past to be related more internally! charlies character as the slime demon takes yeild from the 1800s, possibly during The Lostfield incident??? and has also been rumored to be a test tube baby! what a wacky, goopy, sludgy guy that could just be the root of narrative evil, always right behind the hero and out of suspicion!

#3 Squiggles

The loveable showfall mascot! Squiggles being the founder in of itself is generally ridiculous, however. its VERY noteworthy that our favorite faceless figurehead of darkness has taken a personal intrest in this project! and could for all potential be using squiggles as a type of surrogate for communications or else wise has a piece of themself as squiggles if youre a supporter of the AI theories. that being said heres some things that squiggles has said live on show "I love rats" "Nightmares of Bart The Vorer intensify" "nyyyyyyaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrwwww *crash"

#2 Zero

What a Mysterious Lady we have! Recently Zero has been getting more attention with the bonus addition of the name "Miss Roads" and many like to speculate the connection of Gen 0, Cron 0, and the founder! Could chronicle zero our local A/V shop retail stooge secretly be using those dusty 20% off tape recorders to start her media manipulation empire?? do we have THE founders diary posted live on twitter?? Or is Miss Roads a truman character with a placed therapist? the answer might surprise us!

#1 Ranboo

Our Very Own Hero! Ranboo being the founder is truely a crowd favorite of these times! spanning through the casual viewers, to the general theorists. The concept of it being a case of memory manipulation and full beginnings although the Ranboo as Founder theory took a significant drop in popularity after matpat made a theory not even picking up on the main plot of the show, there are things that make it still have significance !! This spans from a love of the memory lost protagonist being the main villain and a comforting circle of life deal they have going on where the founder ends up killed by the horrors of his own creation in a cruel circle of fate! This will likely never cease ANYWAY here's a fun challenge! who do YOU think is the founder? o r who do you think is even a little bit suspicious? they can be the founder too!

Thoughts on the Project Spacetime Outertale fangame? I thought it was alright for the most part (except the parts when it completely misunderstands Undertale and butchers the lore :/ )

ok first off damn that sounds lowkey passive agressive-

but to answer your question I might as well go on a full rant!

I have a lot of thoughts about it, I havent shared a bunch because I haven't finished it and im not sure if I will! it feels unfair to critizise something If i havent finished seeing all of it, but there are many things that bug me about it!

before I get into that, I do wanna say that I am enjoying it a lot, i think the music is nice and it fits the vibes perfectly, the sprites are neat and the designs of the characters are super cute and I actually really like the added lore I think its vry interesting :DD

outertale is an au that I enjoy a lot as a concept and I think it has a lot of potential for a full fangame, and seeing ps!ot coming out is rlly cool :D

but like I said I do have some issues with it,,, most of them are personal and again, I have yet to finish the game

BUT

I think the way some of the dialogue is written, specially at the start(it gets better near the end of starton imo!) just feels very robotic and like its taking too much from the og game? but like i said, it gets better so it didnt really bothered me that much

I dont wanna get into spoiler territory too much, but if u wanna skip to my next point go ahead just dont read what is higlighted in blue!

there's a mechanic that makes you gain lv by being mean to monsters in acts, this is something i was not aware of and just realized because i had gone from lv 0 to lv 1, I think I accidentally fucked up my pacifist run?? Im not sure but it feels kinda odd that that's not something you would get warned about!

idk what it is about the way the areas where designed but I get lost really easily and they're kinda hard to navigate?? or maybe thats just me, thats more of a personal thing!!

I'm so sorry, this guy scares me so bad.

Kato's work contains a lot of baby-like creatures like this and they scare me so bad. I don't know what it is exactly, but they're so eerie to me. (I also find irl babies quite unsettling, so... no surprise there).

With the way the face looks it kind of looks like it's been skinned. The neck looks bloated as if with rot, the darkening at the buttocks, genitals, stomach, and cheeks feels like some odd sort of rot.

Overall vibes I get: dead baby. And that's kinda a 0/10 for me.

It doesn't help that this used to be the image attached to SCP-173. I didn't have an SCP phase or anything, but when I was a bit younger Weeping Angel type stuff scared me so bad.

While the artist eventually did give permission for the SCP site to use his art as long as he was credited, that didn't happen until 2014. The use of this image for SCP-173 predates that by seven years. (It's actually the first story attached to the concept of the SCP, apparently, isn't that neat!)

But, it leaves me to wonder... is this ethical? Is the use of art by others as the mascot for creepy stories ethical? What do we, as an internet base, owe artists when we use their art in creepy stories? Was it wrong to take an artists art and use it as a prop for a creepypasta?

What about cases like the original Jeff the Killer image? Last I heard the origins were still incredibly dubious, but there was a strong chance of it being tied to early-internet bullying. Is it wrong to potentially use an image used to mock someone as your creepypasta mascot?

Or, if we want to keep to SCP stories, what about their article The Young Man which uses a famous image of a WW1 soldier in the trenches? That was a real man, in a real war, and now his face is being used for ooooo creepy stories~

So, to spice up this 0/10 review, I want to ask a different question than usual.
