You certainly can repot her, I'm rather positive she needs it based on her size alone. But you could also keep her there and she'd probably be fine for a while longer it would just stunt her growth. You could trim her down and she'd grow new branches and get a little bushier if you don't want to repot right now, too. You'd also be able to grow the parts you cut off and have some babies if you wanted!

The flowers are probably fading quickly because of a lack of nutrients and that's just from depleting her soil, some diluted balanced fertilizer could help with that as well as cutting off spent blooms to encourage more blooms to bud. Repotting into fresh soil would also help but fertilizer is just as valid if you don't want to.

She seems to be reaching for light too and the lack of enough light could also be attributing to the quick bloom length.

But she looks healthy if a bit leggy from lack of light (which is totally fine it is winter in the northern hemisphere still so it happens) I think a trim would do her good if you're afraid of repotting, though I know trimming can also be a little scary too. Succulents are very hardy though!

Pleant experts of tumblr, I need some advice

This is Karlach. I have had Karlach since at least 2017, though it's very possible I got her back in 2016/2015. I found her at a Walmart on the back of a shelf in a very tiny Valentines themed heart-shaped pot (it was mid-March), and despite my horrendous luck with plants, I decided to buy her. She's somehow survived a possible 9 years with me, most likely because I kept her on the filter of my fish tank by the window for most of those years, so she had plenty of water due to condensation. I have no idea what Karlach even is. Her tag was missing, and all that came up when they scanned her was 'succulent'.

I've been trying to decide whether I should get her a larger pot, as she has grown far more than I ever expected, and I'm worried she will/has grown too big for her pot. She seems perfectly fine currently, but the flowers she grew started to wilt not long after they grew, which Im worried might be a result of her planter being too small.

I'm hesitant to move her if not nessecary, because despite her living this long, I still have horrible luck with plants, especially succulents, and I don't want to mess with her if I don't have to.

If anyone can give me some advice on whether or not I should transplant her to a bigger pot, or if you have any idea what she might be, it would be greatly appreciated.

I accidentally kept this succulent alive and I think it needs to be transplanted to a bigger pot, but idk how to do it without killing it

I’ve never had much of a green thumb, but I’m doing my best with this succulent. The she used to look more like a palm tree with how extended it was. I’m talking five inches tall. I learned that this means you gotta behead and replant it, as well as find a sunnier spot. I hope I didn’t just kill this baby who’s been with me since 2019, but so far It seems she’s doing really well! It used to be just a stump in the soil, and now I can’t (gently) pull it out due to all the roots it grew. I replanted in mid to late august so that’s pretty good progress! If I did it horribly wrong like I feared she would’ve withered by now.

The leaves are more of an experiment. I heard I could propagate them and in all honesty didn’t do much research on that. Judging by the control leaf (left side, in my fingers) I’m at least doing something right. If they get roots, I have a new pot ready and waiting for them.

Plant people of tumblr, does anyone know what's going on here?

For context, I got this little guy in the summer for free (technically. I left five dollars), and it was doing great for a while, but then I started noticing a lot of the base leaves were drying up and withering. It was a lot fuller when I got it. I tried giving it water, I've not watered it in case it was too wet and needed time to dry out, neither really changed anything. Maybe it's the light? I only have an east facing window, and being in the upper northern hemisphere we aren't getting as much light right now, but my other succulent and other plants have been doing fine with this amount of light.

Any advice?

I NEED HELP PLEASE, I'M TRYING TO SAVE A PLANT

So I found these 2 pots with succulents in them. They haven't been watered in years (the only little water they got was rain)... Needless to say they're looking rough. One was just dead, so I took it out of the pot and found a whole piece of polyester in it????

The other has also got polyester in it, BUT it's still alive (hardly). It's only got 6 leaves and I really don't know what I should do with it. Should I repot it and water it a lot? Is it better to try and propagate it? Would that work in its conditions?

I think it's a Portulacaria afra jacq, but it's looking pretty bad, so it might be something else. Here's a picture (ignore the background please):

Oh where to begin!

Can I just say that the best part (at least my personal favorite part) of going to any theme park or a themed resort is those first couple of minutes after walking through the entrance!!!

It’s like you just stepped through a portal into a place that’s DESIGNED to make you feel like you’re at the center of it all. And in those first couple of minutes you are filled with excitement and possibility because you are at the beginning!

Also I’ll add that I love that the purpose/ goal behind themed entertainment is literally to make people happy. Their is so much love put into the craft of designing these places and if you look close enough your always finding something new (especially learning about hidden details and inside jokes designers have implicated into the artworks I’m always excited to discover those!!!)

Every time I have the pleasure to going to one of these places I study everythingggg posters, the floor design, murals, architecture, signage (even the bathroom ones!), merchandise, themed food and drink options, the background music, characters, plant choices, water features, animatronics (no surprise there hehe), lighting, how they handle transitions into two differently themed zones, EVERYTHING!!!

The fact that these places are meant to be enjoyed in company. If I could I would take all of my beloved mutuals with me on a roadtrip to themed entertainment paradise :DDDD

Succulent Troubleshooting

So I’ve been on a bit of a gardening kick recently, right? Only I’m not at home all the time and its hot enough where I live that a cool day is still above 80. I’m a total novice and am mostly just fucking around to find out.

We have a veritable army of succulents outside that are all thriving, so I’ve been planting some cuttings off of them, which are mostly thriving, so they’re not the issue. It’s finding plants that won’t wilt after a single day not being watered in the heat.

The tomatoes are doing fine so far, only one of my six strawberry plants has survived, my basil’s doing okay and so is the rosemary, my cilantro was doing pretty well until it got knocked off the wall by a lizard or the wind or something and i didn’t notice before I left, so my mom didn’t know it was supposed to be there, so it all died in the succulent planter below. I planted potatoes a few weeks ago and I have no idea what a potato plant is supposed to look like but something is sprouting where i planted one of the potatoes, so I’m choosing to believe its not a weed.

Anyway, none of those are the problem.

So at Lowes (my nearest garden/hardware store) they have these little bags of bulbs(?) to plant. That’s where i got the potatoes and garlic (have no idea how that’s doing) but i also got some onions.

In most of the bags, there are only 3-5 of each bulb(?) but apparently i didn’t read the onion bag that well because there were fucking sixty (60).

Where am I supposed to plant my sixty goddamn onions, you might ask?

So i planted like five of them in pots and the rest i planted in the small, empty plot outside my bathroom door. I have no idea how much sun they’re supposed to get, or how much water for that matter. Because they’re not in a place that I ever really go, and they’re planted underground, there is a very real chance that I’ll forget they’re there, gotta love that ADHD.

Could I google these questions? Yes. Will I? Probably not. Would I remember the answers even if I did? Doubtful.

Anyway I hope you enjoy unhinged uneducated gardening content bc there will probably be more of it soon.

Sunday plant update!

My dearest Portulaca is still flowering every day and it's amazing and resilient.

The Pothos is growing new leaves but no roots? Is it normal?

And lastly the Dahlias are a bit chewed up by a snail infestation but I am getting rid of them all, I haven't seen any new bites in the last few days.

Anyway. Plant side of tumblr I need some help!!

Okay so to preface: I have a kiwi aeonium that I kept in my windowsill in my room at home, that’s been alive for over a year. I’ve grown really attached to it, and have been meaning to get it a new pot since it’s outgrowing it’s old one (which wasn’t a good pot since it didn’t drain). Unfortunately, I am broke, and cannot get one at this time.

I also moved a couple weeks ago, and brought Kiwi with me. It turned back to plain green (which I remember learning was a sign of energy being spent elsewhere, such as rapid growth due to straining for sun), and developed black spots.

I’m not sure if the spots are from stress or disease. I tried researching briefly, but the first result I got was Root Rot, in which case I can’t do anything until I get a new pot.

My question is: should I continue to water Kiwi until I can get a new pot and clear out its root rot? Or would that hurt it worse? I really don’t want my plant to die, but I know what to do.

Honestly, it's just a matter of getting to know that plant. Give it a few months and you'll figure out what it likes. It's okay to experiment.

I dont have a watering can or nothin so I've just been giving my plant a glass of water every day.

Am I crazy or is this one stalk getting longer?

𝗷𝗮𝗲𝘆𝘂𝗻 he's scared, not for himself but for you. baby doesn't want his baby getting those hates and threats. he takes a little safer side, writing a personal note addressing the love of his life and asking to be respected and given privacy. monitors the response and as soon as everyone seems accepting he's showing you off everywhere he can, from talking about you on lives and interviews and shows to posting little tmis on social media. fans even grow to tease him with your name challenging him to things he wouldn't otherwise do. cutesy and hot alike.

𝘀𝘂𝗻𝗴𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗻 he has no intentions of revealing it like until he has a baby with you or something. but poor guy is so bad at concealing his feelings like he's on a show to give advice on fans queries and there's this specific question about how do you know you love someone and hoon is just K.O. ed rambles on about how there's this internal feeling and you just know it when you look at them, they're the best in the entire world and everything. then later on panics when articles surface about it, "oh my god baby they know! they know!" and he ends up confirming the rumours.

𝗷𝘂𝗻𝗴𝘄𝗼𝗻 my boy is soft launching it. he's posting these random ass pictures of succulents and cardigans and hairpins and lipgloss and everyone is so confused until he starts with pictures of hands that are too pretty to be his, skirts with thighs that couldn't be him and lastly a picture of him twirling around someone with the caption,"everyone meet my baby! :))" and after that he's making everyone sick with lovey dovey pictures of you everyday everywhere, twitter, instagram, weverse you name it, everywhere! fans be getting every little update of your love life.

𝗿𝗶𝗸𝗶 leaves little hints and tricks here and there to get the fans crazy with suspicions but at the same time not enough to expose y'all. plays at it for about a year before he gets impatient and unsatisfied with just little bits and pieces wants to upload full on vlogs about his days with you. wanting to post things like 'dance challenge with my beloved' literally has it on the tip of his mouth "i love my girlfriend," begs the company to let him reveal it and they're like we never stopped you?? so he does talking about it with fans- my girlfriend does that too! my girlfriend would love that!
