I got you.
Have some family fic. Arthur is my oc as submas's dad, and Ingo and Emmet are around 16 in this
Cw : mentions of underage drinking(please do not, I do not condone or recommend.)

Being a single dad is tough but nothing Arthur couldn't handle, he loves his sons and knows he did well when his eldest came to him that morning.
"Hey Dad, some friends asked if me and Emmet could go to a party at their house tonight, would it be okay if we did?"
Arthur pats the teen's head, "Sure bud, just be safe, okay? You call me if needed, alright? Keep me posted."
Ingo huffs, playfully smacking his dad's hand off his head.
"Sure. Thank you!"
The eldest runs off, and faintly the older man can hear his youngest cheer at the news. He made sure they packed everything they needed, phones, house keys, and wallets, once everything was checked, he gave them both a hug and watched them leave.
Even now when he knows they'll come back home, he still feels a twinge and sadness knowing he'll be an empty nester soon.
Around ten at night, he checks his phone one last time to see if Ingo or Emmet had sent anything, still nothing it seems.
He's sure his sons are fine, but there is still that small voice in the back of his head telling him something is wrong. Arthur sighs, taking a deep breath, only looking at his side when his herdier nudges him.
"I know, pepper. They are strong boys..." the worry was eating at him.
It's not uncommon for his boys to want to spend the night at a friend's house or go out, but he still worries. He's glad they have each other but it's the whole reason he bought them phones in the first place, he knows they will use it but still.
He just hopes everything is okay.
He moves his covers and lays down, turning the lamp off. Before he sleeps for the night he turns his phone's volume up and keeps it close to his head.
Those ease him a little, just enough to fall asleep.
He woke with a start, grey eyes snapping open to the obnoxious ringtone he set for his eldest.
Blurry vision barely catches the time.
2:47 am
He answers it without a thought, though his face is still in his pillow.
"Ingo?" His voice was muffled by the plush pillow and thick with sleep.
He sits up with speed when he hears sniffling on the other end.
"Ingo, are you okay? Is Emmet with you?"
The Pokémon sleeping around him begin to stir at his quick movement.
"I...I know you said not to drink. B-but our friends-hic- friends took us to a different party and we had some, but they left us and- Dad, please come get us."
The fear dripping in the young boy's voice had Arthur up, slippers on, and speeding down the hallway and out the front door before he could finish.
"Alright, tell me where you are I'm on my way. Don't hang up, stay on the line with me."
He's in his car before his son even gives him a location.
Arthur is relieved the house isn't too far from where he is, ten minutes by car. The adrenaline in his veins kept him awake, though he might've broken a few traffic laws in the process, but he didn't care. His car nearly screeches to a halt in front of the house.
"I'm outside, do you feel safe enough to come to the car or do you want me to come in and get you two." He already had his seatbelt off and one foot out of the car.
"We can come."
Arthur stands outside the strange house and can finally breathe when his sons walk out, the two looking towards the ground looking guilty and afraid, tears welling up in their eyes.
Once close enough their father grabs them, wrapping them both in a tight hug.
"By Arceus I was worried. Are you two okay? Anyone hurt?" He looks them over, his stoic face breaking into concern.
They merely shake their heads not wanting to talk. He moves from them, letting them hop in the car so he can drive them home. The ride back home is silent, even as Arthur tries to ask if they are okay or if anything happened.
It eats him alive the sad look in Ingo's eyes or the guilt-ridden look in Emmet's.
Once home, they show their full feelings, once the front door shut the two cling to their father's sleep shirt, softly crying.
His arms are quick to be around them, hugging them tightly as he gently shushes them. He can't make out what they are saying, but he can occasionally hear 'sorry's coming from them.
"Shhh shhh it's okay, I'm here, I'll always be here. I got you." His heart breaks seeing his sons so afraid.
He doesn't know how long they stayed like this but it was enough for them to cry themselves to sleep. Arthur carries them both to their separate bedroom, taking their shoes off before tucking the boys into bed.
He goes to the kitchen grabs their favorite cups which he fills with some water, grabs some pain relievers from the cabinets, and some salty crackers, placing one of each on each boy's nightstand before going back to bed himself.
The adrenaline rush turns into a crash and he finds himself passing out the moment his head hits his pillow.
Tragically, he wakes up like clockwork around 6 am, he didn't get a good night's sleep after everything, but he still gets up.
No matter how groggy he is.
He's thankful it's Sunday or else his boys would have to go to school with hangovers, that thought leaves a bad taste in his mouth, but what's done is done.
He quietly makes his way to the kitchen, loading up his coffee maker as he prepares some breakfast.
Slowly but surely the smell of bacon wakes the twins, looking towards their respective nightstands they see what their father had left them.
Emmet takes his quickly, the headache he has is not kind and he wants it over.
Ingo hesitates, he broke rules, doesn't that mean he broke Dad's trust? He doesn't deserve to feel better after that, but he caves as his head throbs in pain.
He's the first to take a quick shower while Emmet brushes his teeth, the twins feeling awful after last night and just want to feel better.
After drying off and getting changed the two slowly make their way into the kitchen, where they see their dad finishing up a third plate.
"Your breakfast is ready. You two need to eat."
The plates consist of two eggs, some bacon, a pancake (two in Emmet's case), and some biscuits.
They slowly take their plates but Arthur also points to the stove.
"Made some tea too, Chamomile."
"Thank you, dad."
"Thanks pops."
They both spoke weakly, grabbing a cup too before heading to the dining table. Arthur follows shortly after cleaning up a bit.
He looks at them and notices they are just picking at their food.
"You know, I'm not mad at either of you."
They snap their heads towards him, their silver hair messing up at the speed.
He chuckles softly.
"You two had me so worried, I was scared something worse had happened, I'm just happy y'all called me."
He blinks as Ingo's frown wavers.
"We are sorry, we will never do that again! It was awful. We were going to stay with our friends like usual, but sometime later one of their friends was through a bigger party and said we should join."
"Ingo said no. It's my fault." Emmet interrupts his brother, his smile shaking as tears fill his eyes.
"No! It's both of our faults, we didn't want to look cowardly. And then the drinks got involved and- and-"
Arthur holds his hand up, stopping Ingo in his ramble.
"Thank you for being honest with me. And while I get it, I never want you two to do that again, please, my old heart can't take it." He lightly jests at the end.
"You're my sons, I love you both more than I could explain. You scared me, but I want you to know you can call me for anything and I'll be right there, got it?"
By the end of his little speech, his sons are silently crying but not rapidly.
"Good. Now eat, you two need the energy."
A lopsided smile makes its way to his face, watching them devour the meal he made them.
He's a proud dad indeed.
He runs his fingers through his salt-and-pepper hair.
He can feel he's going to go greyer faster at this rate, but for his sons, it's worth it, as long as they are safe.

TW: angst, some blood (also PLA spoilers)

From @waywardstation’s “It’s Nothing Personal, It’s Just Business”
What started off as a collection of sketches turned into this short, sketchy comic based on the climax & cool down of the story (the latter being the part I reread the most). I really love genuinely good men who end up being a found father to someone who needs help, & just about every fic Wayward made about Ingo & Akari does just that.
When I played Legends Arceus, I think I might’ve had the Volo twist spoiled for me? I can’t remember. It made me wonder if I could’ve, as Ingo does in the story, see him for what he was. Wayward very astutely points out how his behavior is very predatory; that alone tells me I probably would’ve been unnerved at least.
Meanwhile, Mizumi probably would’ve been taken by surprise as Akari was in the story (maybe?) - an idea to explore at another time!

[Cafuné]
<< More Comics
Cafuné is one of those words that doesn't have a word in English. I learned it in Brasil when I lived there. The best way I could describe it is the act of caressing or running your fingers through someones hair (or fur in some cases). Fazer cafuné is considered an affectionate action. (Acho que fazer Cafuné é muito fofo em qualquer contexto.)
Wow this is a comic I made like years ago at this point. Well, guess I'll start sharing some of these. Poor Emmet is a bit touch starved.
Featuring the very grossed out Daki (character belongs to @anime-grimmy )

Wanted to experiment with a watercolor brush. Took some screenshots of Steven Universe’s Sworn to the Sword and recreated them with Dawn and Cyllene, I think it fits them pretty damn well. Bonus Dawn with Ingo doing fighting poses.

Submas Headcanons
Some people have expressed interest in hearing my submas headcanons, so without further ado:
Ingo and Emmet are not originally from Nimbasa City. In fact, they were born and raised in Mistralton City.
They've always loved trains, ever since they were toddlers. Their mother figured they'd outgrow it eventually. They did not.
Their father worked in airplane maintenance at the Mistralton Cargo Service. He always brought his Pokémon, a Timburr, to work with him.
Unfortunately, when the boys were six, both their father and his Pokémon were killed in a workplace accident.
Both he and Timburr were interred together at Celestial Tower. In the years following his death, his wife would sometimes take Ingo and Emmet to visit his grave.
It was on one of these visits that Ingo met Chandelure.
Ingo, who was eight at the time, had just gotten into a fight with his mother.
The twins never really got along with their mother. She was never abusive to them, she just didn't really get them. Their eccentricities and "weird behavior" often left her exasperated.
Ingo was actually the better behaved of the twins. Emmet was the bigger handful. He would sometimes get so upset that he'd shut down and refuse to talk, only venting his frustration in loud, wordless whines.
The dad had always been better at calming him down, but these tantrums often left the mom at her wit's end.
Ingo often found himself caught between his mother and Emmet.
On this particular day, emotions were flying high (as they sometimes do when people are grieving), and Ingo got so angry that he ran deeper into Celestial Tower without Emmet or his mother. His mother shouted at him to come back or he'd get himself lost, but he didn't listen.
Guess what? He got lost.
It was later in the day, and there weren't any other visitors. He spent a long time wandering around the graves, not knowing where he was, feeling increasingly scared and sorry that he'd yelled at his mother.
Finally, after what felt like a long time, he collapsed on the ground beside a tombstone and buried his face in his arms. His legs were tired, and the area he was in didn't look familiar at all. He began to have those irrational thoughts that children sometimes have, that maybe his mother was so mad that she would just take Emmet and leave without him.
Just then, out of the corner of his eye he spotted a little light wavering near the floor just a few feet away. When he looked closely at it, he saw that it was a Litwick. The boy and the Pokémon made eye contact for a moment before the Litwick disappeared behind a tombstone, only to reappear on top of another tombstone just a few feet behind it. It seemed to be beckoning Ingo to follow it.
Now, Ingo had heard the stories they tell about Litwick, how they pretend to guide lost children to safety while actually leading them to the spirit world.
But he was so lost, so lonely and desperate for someone to help him, that he didn't know what else to do except follow the Litwick.
Besides, even if the Litwick did lead him to the spirit world, maybe he'd be able to see his dad there...?
So, he followed the Litwick.
The Litwick led him down the various winding paths between the tombstones, down the stairs, over the mist-covered floor. Every time Ingo thought he'd lost the light, it would reappear a little closer, waving at him to resume its lead once more.
Finally, the walls inside the tower had grown dark, and Ingo saw a massive lighted doorway before him. Was this the spirit world?
No. It was the exit to Route 7. The bright light of the setting sun seared Ingo's eyes as he stepped out of the tower.
And who did he see just outside the entrance? His mother, with Emmet in tow, frantically giving Ingo's description to a police officer who'd been patrolling the area.
Emmet was the first to spot Ingo. Their mother immediately swept Ingo into a hug. Relief and frustration were mixed, and she scolded him even as she held him. ("Don't you ever scare me like that again!")
Ingo looked back over his shoulder at the tower as his mother led him away. He could still see the little light flickering in the dark doorway.
From then on, every time Ingo went to visit his father's grave, the little light was there.
Ingo started bringing the Litwick gifts. Little berries and other snacks he'd snatched from the house, and was pleasantly surprised to see Litwick eat them. He wasn't sure whether Litwick ate food or whether they exclusively fed on life energy.
Eventually, Ingo saved up enough pocket money to buy a Poké Ball from the Pokémon Center and brought Litwick home with him.
He had to hide Litwick from his mother because his mother always hated ghost Pokémon, and always kept her own Pokémon, a Herdier, close by whenever they visited Celestial Tower in case they were ever attacked by one.
Emmet tried to help Ingo keep Litwick hidden, but they were eventually found out. A particularly nasty fight broke out one night at dinner. Emmet was refusing to eat something on his plate. His mother, who was already in a bad mood, insisted that he was too old to be this picky and to eat already. Emmet shut down and refused to talk, and it just escalated from there.
Ingo tried to plead with his mother to stop yelling at Emmet, but that just redirected his mother's anger toward himself. Litwick saw her yelling at Ingo and got angry. The light on its head flared. Suddenly, Ingo's mother began to get very tired...
Ingo realized what was happening and shouted at Litwick to stop. Litwick was confused at first. It didn't think it was doing anything wrong. It was just trying to protect its friend. But when it saw how upset both Ingo and Emmet had become, it stopped draining energy from their mother, and the light on its head went out before she lost consciousness.
The crisis had been averted, but the jig was up. Ingo's mother naturally freaked out and insisted Ingo get rid of Litwick. The twins begged her not to make them get rid of Litwick, vowing that this would never happen again, but the mother went so far as to ransack their room looking for Litwick's Poké Ball. Once she finally found it, she vowed that first thing in the morning, she would trade Litwick away, and she wouldn't hear any arguments about it.
Ingo had always been the better behaved son, but the prospect of losing Litwick was too much. That night, he snuck into his mother's room, grabbed Litwick's Poké Ball from her purse, and ran away from home.
He was gone for three days before the police found him at Twist Mountain. At the time, he was only nine, too young to go on the gym challenge.
His mother was strangely subdued when she picked him up from the station. He had been expecting her to blow a gasket, but she only seemed tired. She grounded him for a month, but she never said another word about getting rid of Litwick.
Nowadays, she lives in Undella Town, in a villa that the twins paid for. She did not take news of Ingo's disappearance well. She sort of shut down and absolutely refuses to acknowledge that he's gone.
She and the twins were never close, but even so, Emmet can't help but feel abandoned by his mother in the wake of Ingo's disappearance.
Speaking of Emmet, here's how he met Eelektross:
When the twin were finally old enough to take the gym challenge, they decided to head south toward Chargestone Cave.
Ingo had an advantage because he had already had a Pokémon he'd been training for a while, but he promised Emmet they would catch him a Pokémon in the cave. And there were plenty of Pokémon to catch. Emmet borrowed Litwick and was able to catch himself a Joltik. Ingo, for his part, caught a Klink.
But Emmet heard one of the trainers they ran into say that this cave was home to a very rare Pokémon called Tynamo. Emmet was intrigued and immediately decided he wanted to catch one. As the twins neared the end of the cave, Emmet declared that he wasn't leaving until he caught a Tynamo.
Ingo was aghast. Tynamo was a super rare Pokémon. They could search the cave for days without seeing one.
Emmet suggested that Ingo could leave if he wanted and keep bringing Emmet food while he searched. Ingo thought this was a crazy idea and said so. But Emmet could be verrrry stubborn, and no matter what Ingo tried, he couldn't get him to leave the cave. Finally, Ingo departed for Route 6 in a huff, saying that Emmet could do what he wanted.
So Emmet searched the cave. But even after wandering through the cave for hours, he had still found no sign of a Tynamo. Worse yet, he kept running into a lot of rock Pokémon that his newly caught Joltik was unprepared to fight.
Finally, his watch told him that it was getting late. Emmet was exhausted and embarrassed. He regretted not having listened to Ingo, and he dreaded having to hear him say, "I told you so."
So, he decided to pull out his sleeping bag and camp right there on the cave floor in order to put off having to face Ingo until the next morning.
In the middle of night, he was awoken by the sound of something rummaging in his backpack. When he picked up his flashlight and looked, what did he see but a Tynamo munching on one of the Pecha Berries his mother had packed.
Emmet only had an instant to be excited before the Tynamo grabbed the berry in its sucker-like mouth and fled deeper into the cave. Emmet ran after it, flashlight in hand, determined not to let it get away.
But he wasn't the one to stop Tynamo. Instead, Tynamo was jumped by a pair of Boldore as it was fleeing. Emmet ducked behind a rock and watched as the Boldore easily beat up Tynamo and took the berry, from which it had only been able to take a few nibbles with its small mouth. Emmet, armed with only an exhausted Joltik, was completely helpless to stop this, and could only watch as the Boldore left with the spoils.
Emmet slowly approached Tynamo, who was lying on the ground in a tiny heap. It occurred to Emmet that perhaps the reason Tynamo were so rare was because they were so weak.
Emmet had been under the impression that because Tynamo were rare, they must be super powerful and that having one on his team would make him unstoppable. Nonetheless, he did not hesitate to reach for the empty Poké Ball he had in his pocket.
Ingo had spent the night at the Pokémon Center in Driftveil City, worried sick about Emmet. Early the next morning, he headed back toward Route 6 with plans to find him in Chargestone Cave and try once again to get him to give up his search for Tynamo.
Instead, he was shocked to run into a triumphant Emmet crossing one of the bridges over the river, holding up Tynamo's Poké Ball in his hand.
When Tynamo came to at the Pokémon Center, it was understandably alarmed to find itself in a strange place it didn't recognize with a strange kid it didn't know grinning down at it.
But it immediately perked up when Emmet dumped a bunch of berries from home onto the table below where it was floating.
As Tynamo looked up at Emmet questioningly, Emmet earnestly promised that he would make Tynamo strong and that as long as they were together, Tynamo would never be hungry again.
He has kept that promise.
I have a lot more, but I think that's more than enough for one post. I might make another post about Ingo's life in Hisui before he met the protagonist, but we'll see.

Do you think you'll draw the nimbasa trio catching their first Pokemon that's not their starter on their journey?
Definitely! It’s just a matter of getting there, haha. I am but one vaguely man shaped blob with a hyperfixation. Mortal needs like sleep and hand pains stop me from vomiting every brain idea I have.
I actually got this question multiple times, so to answer! I am not going to be drawing the nimbasa trio getting another pokemon until their late teens unless a brainworm strikes. (So no new pokemon during the current snapshot series haha.)
Why?
From a canon perspective, well:
Most npc trainers you meet on route have 2-4 pokemon, so I’m gonna try to keep within that amount until the trio settles in Nimbasa and have the revenue/space to upkeep a full pokemon team.
From a meta perspective, wellllll:
Another caught pokemon means character development, and I, ah... right now, I just wanna draw a candle, a zebra, and an eel. I love painting. But fitting seven or more characters on a canvas is, er… Make me draw more guys and I’ll melt like a vanniluxe on a summer day.
If people are curious for some pokemon headcannons though (note that this is not canon— pokemon gave me a puddle of information, so I’m taking the shovel to dig an ocean.)
- ingo saw a colony of dwebble collecting rocks while in the desert, and he’s been enamored ever since. He’s been trying to convince a dwebble to join his team for a while. Unfortunately, Ingo’s very excited and dwebble are naturally shy. (It doesn’t help that litwick can get mean when jealous.)
- emmet loves double battles and teams up with a lot of wild pokemon— but he doesn’t click with anybody until much further in the future. Me thinks his expectations are a tad too high from having such a good start with tynamo. He’s worked with multiple growlithes and thinks Helping Hand is the coolest shit ever.
- emmet’s first “caught” pokemon would be archen. More like “lab grown” and “lovingly hatched”, but it’s the thought that counts. Thinking once again about squab archen…
- elesa found her two emolga in the trash. She was going to release them after fostering, but got attached.
For future plans:
(The pokemon the twins live with and are officially part of the team (named at what stage the twins meet them! Note that everybody becomes fully evolved at somepoint.)
Ingo— litwick, dwebble, drillbur, and axew.
Emmet— tynamo, archen(lint roller), joltik, and durant.
They also have pokemon coworkers that don’t live with them, but agree to help in battles for exp and wages— kliklank twins, garbadore, shelmet and karablast, boldore (atlas), and gurdur)
And for our favorite electric gym leader:
Elesa— blitzle, the emolga twins (em and molga), stunfisk, mareep
(She has pokemon coworkers Eelektross (eela), zebrastrika (motorbreak), and Galvulanta (Lanta) who have a similar set up to the twins— the pokemon agree to work with Elesa for exp and wages, but otherwise have their own lives.)
(Fun headcanon: pokemon who are raised by humans tend to keep human nicknames. It’s not always the case, but it’s a common enough trend for research studies.)
