"Shen Yuan is careless about his appearance" is an understandable take, but I think it's also inferior to what's actually going on most of the time, which is more like:

Shen Yuan is in fact so preoccupied with appearances that he is extremely meticulous and diligent in keeping up his image, but he's also utterly oblivious to how this factors into attraction (especially queer attraction) and he misses cultural context clues thanks to having transmigrated sometimes, with an end result that sometimes he is carefully and unwittingly making himself up like a thirst trap because he thinks that's what a sophisticated and classy scholar ought to look like.

To be even 0.1% striking a similar chord is an aspiration of mine.#I also want to honour the effort I put into this parody book cover. Which was a *lot* more than one would think.#Covers were analyzed. I did research and took notes. I learned how to download fonts. 4 different programs were used.#This file is also poster sized (A4 dimensions)! I thought It would make the joke funnier for some reason.#Chuck Tingle's style is very iconic and fun to replicate. Despite the time intensive labour - I had a blast making this!#I admit to skimming most of the chapter this is based off of just to fact check a few details but boy did I learn things.#Wei Wuxian canonically has CAKE. Tiny waist and a fat ass.#I took several more notes but I will warn you now that I can't *not* find smut writing to be very funny.#This was pure chaos. Unbridled chaos. I wish that people who identify as nonbinary could just admit that it’s a subculture. They have more in common with emos and goths than with homosexuals and bisexuals…they aren’t experiencing oppression for the way they were born, at worst they’re experiencing bullying for the way they choose to express themselves. So why are we supposed to consider them Super Special And Oppressed Queers when they just aren’t? They need to just leave LGB people alone and embrace the fact that they are an aesthetic-based subculture, not an oppressed minority.

#especially because so many of them have the same style and interests #even similar personalities #and almost always the same political/social beliefs #you just don’t see that with LGBs or any other minority group #my ramblings

Just a random question to my artist followers: does anyone enjoy posting their stuff on tiktok? I can't tell if its just a me thing or if that app and its userbase are the most obnoxious compared to other social media

#txt #like any time i post something the comments are 10% related to the art #and then 50% is 'omg did you know this guy draws porn!!' and then LINKING THE FUCKING ACCOUNT #35% is someone complaining about gay people or women #and then the last 5% is someone yelling at me because they confused me with some other guy with a similar name/art style #ive also been sent genuine death threats over my dragon ball ship art. something i drew a YEAR ago #because tiktok's privacy policy is so bad that people can't dm you but they can still send message requests #is it because tiktok has a much younger userbase?#like we know how batshit twitter is and instagram is pretty annoying as well but tiktok feels like nobody knows what a filter is
