Pond are prolific (and terrific). They released their 10th LP — and first double album — in 15 years, Stung!, just before summer. And although they toured parts of America earlier in the year, the Western Australia psych-rock band returned to hit the East Coast, thrilling Brooklyn Steel on Wednesday night.

Vor zwei Wochen habe ich Ihnen erstmals die Formation Pond mit dem funky Scissor Sisters like So Lo vorgestellt und in Aussicht gestellt, mich mal vertiefend mit dem aktuellen Pond Longplayer Stung! befassen zu wollen. In dieser Sache kann ich Vollzug melden. Stung! ist ein – wohlwollend formuliert – erfrischend anders und extrem abwechslungsreiches Album. Electro-Minimalismen (Sunrise for the lonely) treffen auf Psyche-Rock (Black Lung), Folkige Intermezzi (Stars in the silken sheets) werden von 70ies Glam Pop/Rock abgelöst (Boys don´t crash / Neon River) und über allem schwebt der grandiose Opener Constant picnic eine rhythmisch extrem spannende Nummer, die sich stilistisch kaum einordnen läßt allenfalls unter der großen Pop-Formula zu subsumieren ist. 

Stung! ist ein 50 minütiger Parforce-Ritt durch fast 50 Jahre Musikstile, ungemein spannend, da Sie nie wissen, was Sie im nächsten Song erwartet und dadurch aber auch ziemlich fordernd (will nicht sagen anstrengend). Wenn Sie sich nicht daran stören, dass Stung! so ein bisschen der rote Faden fehlt kann das Album ein echtes Hörvergnügen werden.

if i had a nickel for every time netflix released a show about a diverse group of teenagers who become a found family while dealing with ghostly shenanigans that received critical acclaim and developed a passionate and loyal fanbase in spite of little promotion only to unceremoniously cancel it after one season for nonspecific reasons, i would have

When my brothers and I were little, there was a tiny playground across our house, and at one point there was a wasp's nest right next to it. I remembered messing around and getting stung, but not the whole context. I brought it up with my mom and apparently this was the order of events:

My little brother got stung first because he was sitting too close. He comes home crying, and me and our other brother are like "those wasps STUNG our brother? We have to avenge him." So we get dressed up as warriors and bring plastic swords with us to the playground. Our mom warns us not to mess with the wasp's nest and we're like "we won't!"

So we leave and immediately start messing with the wasp's nest. It's down low, so after thwacking it we put rocks in the way of the entrance, and the wasps start to freak out. Of course we got stung and came home crying.

Our dad gets home around the same time, and our mom explains what happened. Instead of lecturing us on why you shouldn't mess with wasp's nests, he's like "those wasps STUNG my kids? I have to avenge them."

So he grabs a caulk gun and goes to leave, and our mom is like "PLEASE don't mess with the wasp's nest" and he's like "I won't."

5 mins later he comes back and is like "I got stung."

Aaa thank you! It genuinely warms my heart to hear that you still occasionally think of me even though I've been laying low for a while now.

I'm doing a little bit better now compared to last month, there's been some positive progress, but still struggling with a lot of fundamental daily things.

i adore Maruki as a character because he's simultaneously the most relatable depressing character that will make you cry with empathy, and the goofiest wettest cat loser in the game like what do you mean youre a licensed therapist and your first response to trauma is to brainwash a girl, project ur relationship issues onto a 17 yr old boy, and then rule the world in a golden leotard? bro went from 0 to 100 so fast??? anyway he's like 30% of the reason why p5r works as well as it does

Thinkin about that one post with people unknowingly handling dangerous animals (and rocks) without getting harmed and i think Joey would have that kind of luck so i drew it up really quick! XD
