Ooooh boy, I hope this reaches you on time (my home in the Pacific Northwest is eight hours behind you. Time zones are a bitch to monitor XP).

Anyway, here's some stuff for you!

I made this the previous year and originally planned to submit when it was his birthday but I chickened out at the last second.

I'm honestly really proud of how this one turned out even though I took some liberties with Zavok's design (I'm aware he doesn't have much of a chin, but oh well). I also came up with that pick-up line on my own :D

I thought I'd give him some minions. As for why they've got such basic designs, I made them up on the spot. Guy on the left is supposed to be a fox while the guy on the right is a comodo dragon. I didn't give them names or a backstory. As far as I know, they're just blank canvases. You can do whatever the hell you want with them.

I feel like a lot of folks tend to forget that this dude's not all sunshine and sweetness. I find him super fascinating only because I've never seen a character who's both a fasion designer and a mob boss. That's such a unique combination!

It's so cute to see him with the big strawberry shake yesss, he's the world's biggest lover of big pink drinks fr. The most sugary and sweetest ever that shocks people with how easily he can handle it with such a big sweet tooth it's impressive and awe inspiring XD

Casino Egg deserves to meet Zavok and discover his monsterfuckery like main universe Eggman ahsjgnbagkhg the pick up line is so him and I love Zavok's alarmed confused blush. His charm and charisma works on everyone, you can try to hide it but you're not immune hehe

YESSS for capturing his sinister side too omg! It's a very important asset of his character just as his silliness and sweetness and flirtatiousness and I'm delighted to see it represented! And two new characters for me??? The minions look really cool! I always need more non official faces to be a part of his crew so I'll definitely be adding them into it, thank you!

I'm very happy that you enjoy the concept! Yeah he's a unique and vastly multi talented guy huh, he can really do it all XD A mob boss but extra fabulous and fashionable is what the world needed I think. Being a jolly casino owner and showing off his stylish clothing line by day and organizing and partaking in all kinds of messed up evil crimes by night!

You captured every side of him perfectly with these with love and care for attention to detail with his cute sweet silliness, flirtatious charm, and sinister evil side and that really means a lot to me, thank you so muuuch 💜

Sure! And yeah, I can definitely see the resemblance, with this sorta "overworld" style map at least ^.^

I did have a more detailed version of the lighthouse island and the adjoining one, from last week, but I kinda got bogged down in details and cheating geometry to facilitate that, thus the switch to an even more reduced scale for the time being.

Towers Of The Archipelago is definitely still in the early sorta "vibes-based" stage of the idea, but it's also a coalescence of a handful of different fragmented ideas that have been floating around my head for the past several years, so there isn't a whole lot to talk about just yet, but I can still give a rundown of what there is so far.

It's pretty strongly inspired by Moon Rhapsody, a gorgeous but unfinished zeldalike game I found on itch.io a year and a half ago, (albeit without the nsfw stuff that one has,) though somehow the recent release of the first chapter of ENA: Dream BBQ had a hand in making my angle finally coalesce lol.

Probably mainly just because of this specific area in it, plus making me want it to be a first-person-adventure game for the vibes.

Anyway, yeah, so as the big map and the name imply, picturing a big archipelago connected by bridges, where most of the islands have small villages on them; but every village has to have a big tower of some sort (lighthouse, radio tower, weather reading station, pagoda temple, factory smokestack, harbor crane, etc.) that kinda defines that town's role, in the big trade ecosystem they all have going on between them.

Lots of youkai and monsters and stuff just casually living alongside humans, (can swap between cute humanoid and full cryptid forms at will, picturing a kasa-obake being a major character) tech level is like, kinda random but leans more toward oldtimey industrial revolution level but with some like, 60s/70s computation stuff in the bigger towns?

And there's a spooky island further off from the rest that only appears at night; its village is completely empty, and its tower is a Numbers Station.

Also something something about the moon and sun being alive and watching people? Like big Luna and Celestia vibes, but more as deities than as rulers, though still don't know exactly what I wanna do with that. They'd be tied to an observatory tower and a heliography tower, respectively, though; in the big map here, the heliography tower is the one just a couple islands away from the southwest lighthouse, while I'm imagining the observatory being more toward the northwestern part of the archipelago, atop a more mountainous island.

In the more detailed map of the lighthouse and crossroads island, I included a wrench piece looping around a diagonal stretch of bridge, just to cover a gap between the pieces, but that led to the idea of like, there being these big ancient magic gates around the bridges, normally open by default, but which automatically close up as a defensive measure.

In general, the concept for the setting (islands all with their own towers) has been bugging me for A While, but I didn't have anything to do with it yet.

But thankfully I do finally have something of an actual premise now, even if it's still pretty basic. A big storm with a tinge of something supernatural rolls in, making the normally-placid sea routes unsafe from turbulent waters, but also triggering all of the bridge gates across the entire archipelago to close at once; cutting off the islands from one-another completely.

The protagonist is a girl from the small southwest lighthouse village, and somehow she has a way to make the gates reopen even before their lockdown ends, so she either gets sent, or decides on her own, to go head out and try to get to the bottom of what's going on, and reconnect all the towns as she goes.

The real trouble with this is that I don't know what "the bottom of what's going on" entails either; I just figure in classic quest tradition it's something way over her head that she has to work her way up to meeting head-on.

Though it's probably something unrelated to the spooky disappearing Numbers Station island I mentioned earlier; that I see being just another feature of the islands, eerie and inexplicable as it may be; whereas whatever the storm brought is an outside factor.

Also given what I mentioned about youkai earlier, kinda wondering if it would be interesting to make the protagonist herself one, though I haven't settled on anything for sure yet.

Just kinda picturing an animated cover or titlecard thingy, with the main character in the center, mostly in shadows but holding a storm lantern that's illuminating her face and part of her body. Then the silhouette of the lighthouse behind her in all black, except for the windows at the top; and then more distant silhouettes of some of the islands and the other various towers kinda spread out on either side of it, also all in black except for the blinking red air traffic lights on top of those. Very razor-thin crescent moon up in the sky, surrounded by clouds in the shape of an eye.

Comfortably spooky, I think that's the phrase for the vibe I'm going for.

So yeah, it's a thing. :)

Well I'm glad!! Don't expect anything like the first chapter though haha, I'm not there yet. It would be more like a sneak peek and something to let people know that this project exists. Also giving myself deadlines like this helps and makes it more "real".

Well one of my coworkers once brought us homemade matcha tiramisu and it was so good!! And there's this Japanese bakery next to where I work that makes matcha brioches filled with cream or matcha cookies. I can't eat this stuff anymore but it's amazing, I recommand trying it if you can find something similar!

Haha yes Mangalitsa pigs are adorable and black-footed cats are the cutest serial killers! I had never seen Jacob sheep before and wow, they're impressive.

Haha it's fine, don't worry! It's interesting to me that you think in such detail about culinary traditions and all since I tend to not put much thought into these aspects of worldbuilding. Gives me a different perspective.

Yes I didn't mean that Vilia should be allowed into Gerudo Town, definitely not. I just think punishing him would be harsh when he made it possible for Link to save the city (and the kingdom). The guards should definitely be more careful about voe dressed as vai haha.

TotK should have made gloom sickness a true epidemic, things would have looked a lot more threatening then. I'm still thinking about the details but I want a lot more characters to be affected in my rewrite (though of course saving all of them one by one would be redundant) and the remedy would also be harder to find. I'm also planning to add different kinds of illnesses depending on what's happening locally, for example Castle Town will suffer from something unique due to its proximity to the Castle und what's underneath it.

I tend to see magic as something really rare especially in BotW's Hyrule so I don't share that headcanon about Wild's mother being a magess, but she could definitely be the reason he's skilled at cooking and knows which ingredients to use!

Yeah I thought just getting rid of the mud by washing it away was a bit easy. It should have made the Zora or anyone who touched it really sick.

Yes I'm sure the Gerudo would still need external help from time to time for things they aren't used to doing and in that case they would use the shelter as you suggested. At least we know in OoT that they needed the carpenters from Kakariko to repair the bridge in Gerudo Valley, so that can definitely happen.

Yes they have to extend the cast in ancient Hyrule and to give the ancient Sages more character. I guess we might finally get to see them without their masks and learn their names (though I think we shouldn't need a new game for that).

In French the game will be called "Les Chroniques du Sceau" which I think is better than if they'd gone with "L'Ère du Sceau" again. Not sure how that would translate, does Chronicles of the Seal sound weird? Chronicles of the Imprisoning War maybe?

Well I'm not planning to buy the Switch 2 at the moment anyway! And TotK was such a disaster for me that don't want to spend more money on a spin-off without making sure it's any good before.

Isn't it funny that they didn't even mention the audio memories in the Switch 2 direct and it was advertised in a different video? I was completely uninterested in the GPS or the ability to share builds in TotK but THAT would give me a reason to replay the games. Also now it seems we'll also be able to repair weapons and I'm like ??? So we're adding such a major feature through an app and we're not even mentioning it?? Weird communication choices haha.

I knew you were going to answer that saying "this is unfair" isn't real life logic haha (and I agree that life hasn't been fair to Sky and Sun anyway). It's just that such an ending would probably leave me feeling unsatisfied and even a bit robbed, and I think it would require a lot of other changes to be made to the story in order for it to work properly. But anyway you're right, as things are now this would just be happening behind the scenes so what I'm saying doesn't really make sense. But just thinking about it changes my perception of SS in a way I don't really enjoy, so it's not a theory I favor.

Yes in that setting I'm pretty sure that the other Sun would not make herself known to Link and Zelda and would let them have their happy ending. But I think Zelda would likely suspect her existence and know that something is wrong. I guess even Link could notice that the Temple's doors are suddenly open and would ask Impa a few questions.

I had no idea Tingle called Farore the Goddess of Wind in WW, so I went on a little quest to see if I could find the same quote in the French version of the game. Apparently it's in Tingle's description of Outset Island and I never had the chance to play with the Tingle Tuner mode. I can't find the same quote in French anywhere and I don't even know if this was included in the HD remake (I guess I'll have to wait for a Switch version to find out… if they ever release one). This has me wondering if this quote isn't something exclusive to the English version, but I can't be sure and I'd like to know what the original Japanese text says. The French wikis mention that Farore is the Goddess of Wind in WW but don't provide any quote, it just looks like the pages were translated from English but that they couldn't find the same quote in French. It's really frustrating!!

Anyway that's a bit weird because WW already establishes Zephos as the God of Wind, and he seems to be a minor deity compared to Farore. The way I see it, wind is just the element that Farore tends to be associated with, and since a lot of myths might have been lost with Hyrule in WW this could just be a mistake on Tingle's part. I mean this is the game that gave us the Golden Triumph Forks haha.

I'm not limiting Nayru/the Golden Goddesses to a singular domain, quite the opposite ^^ To me Nayru being the Goddess of Wisdom includes different concepts such as order, law, science, magic, etc., and even time (since she's introduced as the creator of the world's fondamental laws), while calling her the Goddess of Time doesn't include all of that. That's why I wrote that I found it a bit restrictive. But sure she could have both titles, the same way Farore could be known most commonly as the Goddess of Courage and also called the Goddess of Wind in some situations.

Oh I didn't think of the blocks from OoT! I would say though that they don't really use any time powers, they're just random blocks that appear or disappear for some reason when Link plays the Song of Time (it's just as absurd as playing the Song of Storms to open holes in the ground haha). But yes they were blue and associated with time, and of course Nayru is too. The difference with Hylia in my theory is that Nayru created the rules of time (if that makes sense) among other fundamental laws, while Hylia's power specifically allows her to manipulate time and foresee the future. In a way I see Hylia as Nayru's spiritual daughter who inherited some of her powers over time (and that's why the color purple she's represented with is very close to blue).

The Master Sword has also been depicted as either blue or purple though, so that asks the question of the true color of all of these things! Nayru is definitely linked to time so it makes sense that the timeshift stones are in Lanayru (and Hylia also doesn't have a province named after her).

"From the edge of time" could definitely just be a poetic way to say that Hylia kind of recorded a message for Link before dying haha. But I find it interesting that she would phrase it like that, I like to see it as a clue.

Well if Zelda simply sent Link to a point further back in time, wouldn't there be two Links existing at the same time in the Child Timeline? But sure Zelda creating a brand new timeline also raises a few questions that kind of... make my head hurt. I'm not sure what happens exactly, I've always wondered! All we know is that Link finds himself in the Master Sword's chamber with the Door of Time already open, which hints at things happening in a different way this time (because he definitely doesn't have the three spiritual stones and the Ocarina of Time yet since this is before Ganon's coup, and the ending seems to imply that this timeline's Zelda doesn't know him yet). That's why I believe Zelda might have done something a bit more complex than sending him to a point further back in time, but there's no way to be sure. The Triforce of Courage is also visible on Link's hand during the ending, and we also know thanks to TP that the Triforce is still separated in the Child Timeline despite Link and Zelda preventing Ganon from entering the Sacred Realm this time. So maybe Zelda isn't able to change everything? It's complicated haha.

Anyway, whether OoT Zelda creates a new timeline or just sends Link further back in time, that's still huge time powers and that's not something Link is able to do by playing Zelda's Lullaby.

I also believe it is more likely that Talon inherited the ranch. True, Talon might not always have been so lazy, but maybe if that was the case the game could have hinted at hit. All we know is that he leaves his daughter alone with Ingo and only comes back after Link deals with the situation, which does not make him look so great. And he only promises to work harder after that.

I'm kind of bad with names so I'm impressed you're going through all of that trouble to rename the settlements!!

I haven't gotten to developping the technology that much yet, but I'm really interested in seeing what the different races could do with it! I love the idea of using the Sheikah to infiltrate the Yiga bases. I wish TotK had done something like that and shown the Sheikah helping Link that way.

Yes I thought you could maybe use clos! Aquaticlos is funny, it can work! Though maybe you could use the same logic as for the raisins (I love this Raisins de Terre idea by the way, it makes sense!) and say that what the Zoras call a clos already refers to something that's underwater, since that's probably the case for most of what they cultivate.

I do. I know some people think either he wouldn't have or he would've missed so that's why the writers had him shoot Dorian instead, but mmmmmm no, I don't personally think so. I like to think that if he had taken the shot, his shaky hands would've caused him to shoot her fatally.

Mostly because I'm already so normal about the fact that of the Ericson crew, Marlon and Louis are the only ones with a body count. Well, that we know of, but shown to us in the game, at least. Plus, we know it's Louis' first kill.

Like yeah, Clementine and AJ become part of the crew and they have bigger body counts, and if we're counting indirect kills caused by actions, then Tenn has a count... and I guess everyone has blood on their hands for blowing up the boat... but I'm talking about killed directly with a weapon like....... I lied, I'm not normal about that at all, Louis and Marlon are the ones who have killed someone in Louis' route. I'm also not normal about the fact that Louis kills Dorian and then even as he's clearly in shock, he tries to go with Clementine to get AJ, and then later on when they talk about it, he says it feels like bile but not quite and he's glad he has it in him to do it.... listen, listen, listen... I'm obsessed with that.

Anyway, so if Louis shot Minerva, I think he would've accidentally killed her and can you imagine? He's already enough of a mess after killing the woman who pinned him down and tried to cut his finger off [or succeeded] but he knew Minerva, they were friends before the twins were taken. Even Violet couldn't kill her even though that would've been the smarter thing to do, and we know thanks to meta knowledge that killing her would've saved lives, but Violet couldn't, and I don't think Louis would intentionally either.

Speaking of Violet, if Louis killed Minerva, I hate to think about what that would've done to Vi. I think she might've actually left at that point, like what was planned before it got changed to her being burned. I don't think she would've attacked Louis over it, though, like yeah she attacked Clementine in the cell but Louis? I don't know, but I don't think so just because it's Louis and he'd be a mess about it anyway.

Though if he did kill her, it would be a neat parallel to draw... y'know, because Louis forgave AJ for killing Marlon even though he was pissed and heartbroken, and Violet was annoyed with him the entire time... but could she ever forgive Louis for killing Minerva? Y'know? We already have a similar parallel with AJ shooting Tenn, but still.

If Clementine killed Minerva in that moment, though, then I could see Violet attacking her since in her eyes, Clem proved her right.

So yeah, I get why they added the Dorian kill to his route. It adds another compelling element to Louis as a character, but we also need Minerva alive for episode 4; Louis can't kill her, he can't miss, and he's not going to stay with her because we need Violet to stay on the boat and him to be on shore for all routes.

Hey so what are your thoughts on the theory that Dragon might actually the biological son of Xebec? I think it's pretty interesting to think about considering the implications it has (depending on what ends up being canon).

For example, if Crocodad is real and Dragon is Xebec's son, that would imply that Garp's biological child is... Crocodile.

Also, I think it works well with the idea that Roger knew Garp would protect his child... because he saw him do that exact thing during the God Valley incident for the son of Xebec. Another child born from a man deemed an extreme by the World Government.

It's an interesting idea but the only reason people keep on suggesting that theory is just that the really vague silhouette of Xebec we have seen kinda vaguely resembles Dragon on the hair-department (and people want Xebec to connect to some other character somehow somewhere, thus we have also have people ALSO suggesting Xebec is related to (or straight up just is) Croc, Buggy, Blackbeard and god knows who else)

And I just personally don't buy it.

Main thing is that Garp has made it explicitly clear that Dragon is his child, his very own son, multiple times (and as recently as in the brief Aokiji flashback where he complains about his son becoming a revolutionary).

The other thing is that Garp and Dragon look alike

Finding good panels to do comparisons is a bit hard, and the art can fluctuate a little bit (especially the hairlines for both characters) and when the characters aren't even doing the same expression it messes with the proportions a bit But generally speaking, they have similarly shaped hairlines and the same nose-shape. Hair texture too though it's less obvious since Garp has gone gray;; I would make a comparison to Young Garp but his nose is a different shape, but that just makes Young Garp look resemble Luffy so much more

Of course, I wouldn't put too much money on similar faces meaning things due to Oda's Same Face Syndrome, but really the only major differences between how Dragon and Garp look are Dragon's lack of eyebrows (or if he has eyebrows they're just really thin compared to Garp's bushier ones) and more hooded brows in general. In my mind, they look more alike than different and that very specific nose-shape alone says a lot

So I personally no doubt about Garp and Dragon being related, just as I have no doubt Garp and Luffy are related (and thus, by extension, Luffy and Dragon too)

It's also the fact that I see no point in Oda telling us who Luffy's dad is THROUGH GARP if they're not actually related, AND SO MANY YEARS AGO. Like, it'd just feel like a pointless lie, an absolutely useless plot-twist because like, while it would tell us a bit more about Garp, it wouldn't do anything to change Luffy and Dragon's non-existant relationship with each other, nor Luffy and Garp's. Like it'd be a twist for the sake of having a twist, throwing out nearly two decade old lore for what?

And I feel like Crocodad would make that even worse. Because suddenly we'd have to ask many uncomfortable questions about what kind of a relationship Garp has with his transgender pirate son. And if he considders his son-in-law more like his own family than Crocodile... fucking yikes, man. Like Garp is a flawed human being but I don't want to add that to the list of shit he's fucked up. Like despite everything, Garp is still understandable and likable (for me at least) and I just don't want him to get pushed over the edge like that

One last thing is that Dragon would've been 17 at the time of the God Valley incident (and Crocodile was 9). Like sure Garp could've lowkey adopted a 17 year old or just taken him in as a student, but still... He's a bit old to be taken in like that and for Garp to start considdering Dragon his own son

I just don't buy into the theory at all personally
