I’m entering chapter 3 harmonically excited vibration and I’m still a bit confused but I’m gonna try my hardest.

I’m recovering from my lung infection, it was at its worst yesterday hence no post.

I forgot to post this yesterday 'cause I got home so late from uni 😭

Yesterday was a pretty tiring, but worth it, day of studying since I missed an entire week of class and had to study all of the content from last week's welding technology class + study from a texbook on science and engineering of materials.

Content studied yesterday:

> Stress-Strain of metals under tension, compression, sheer and torsion tests ;

> Stress-Strain graph (elastic and plastic strain, recognition of ductile and brittle materials, points of elastic limit, yielding, ultimate strength and rupture) ;

> General types of welding ;

> Concepts of welding technology .

My welding technology class went great and I was relieved when I found myself following the explanations with ease and being able to participate because of successful studying and absorption of the last class' content through photos of the board that my classmate sent me. I was really scared I would fall behind but I feel pretty confident and intrigued by the subject and engineering in general... I think I'm finally falling in love with it!

To-Do Today:

1. AM Exercise Sheet 4-13

I attended a mechanical design workshop yesterday, and now I am definitely like 5% more aware of wtf I am doing. It ended at 9 pm. Then, I went to the library and completed AM (Advanced Mathematics I) Worksheet 2 and 3. AM I exam is in 5 days. Crazy.

It's 5:30 pm. I hope I'll manage to meet my goals before 12 a.m., but that's undoubtedly a tall order. A girl can dream tho :/

Overall 8/10 kinda day so far. Would be a 10 if exams weren't looming around.

THE BIG HOPE

My time at the University of Energy and Natural Resources has taught me that determination can overcome any obstacle.

While earning my Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering is a milestone, it’s the lessons in leadership, resilience, and problem-solving that truly define me.

Despite facing numerous personal, financial and academic challenges, I learned the value of perseverance, maintaining a positive mindset, and staying focused on my goals.

Support from friends, mentors and peers was crucial, and I am grateful for the encouragement that helped me push through difficult times.

Along the way, I made sacrifices and sought personal growth, becoming an active member of various student organizations like GHIE, MESA, and IMechE, while also exploring leadership opportunities through AIESEC and student politics.

Volunteering with the Ghana Red Cross Society, Armnesty International and others reinforced my belief in the power of community and service.

As I continue my journey, I plan to pursue a Master’s degree and remain committed to helping others succeed, offering support and guidance to inspire them to reach their own dreams.

Trust the process, and success will follow.

•Interests: I love dance! I danced competitively for most of my life, and while I no longer dance at a studio, I do make time to dance on my own! I also love science, especially astrophysics. I’ll be honest with u all… I haven’t been very productive lately… feel like I’m in a rut… here is how I’m managing;

List all tasks to declutter your mind. Identify the top 1–3 priorities for the day. Split large tasks into small, actionable steps. Work 25 minutes, break for 5. One month left until my exams. I already know that this will be a stressful period as I will still have to work in my internship company and drive back to my hometown to take my exams.

Luckily, this semester, I am only registered for five exams, and most of them are not really complicated or have a huge amount of contens I have to study.

Exams start in 12 days, and I know more or less nothing. I am trying, I swear I am trying to catch up, but atp, it feels like nothing is enough. I failed to meet the pre-requisite for Engineering Mechanics 1 so I have to do an extra colloquium with notoriously low passing rate to get a second chance and if I fail that, I'll have to wait a whole year to get a second chance. And if I don't finish Engineering Mechanics 1 by the third semester, I get kicked out.

And it's extra awful knowing Engineering Mechanics is more or less the only subject I studied for because I perceived the other subjects to be easier and now, my first test in 12 days is on Advanced Maths but I can't start studying for that in good conscience knowing I need to prepare for the EM colloquium.

I know this is the consequence of my own actions, and I do not know how to reconcile with that. I feel like I am on board a train with a broken accelerator rapidly heading to its doom. But I suppose as long as I don't give up, there is always next semester. God, please save me once more.

I really don't want to repeat any subject next semester because I want to get a job and start investing time in my hobbies again. I did nothing this semester because I thought I would need all the grace in the world to adjust to a new place and new kind of study curriculum, and god, is that an understatement.

I will call the student counseling tomorrow because I need all the help I can get.

Tomorrow:

1. Finish Chapter 10 EM I theory

2. Practice Questions from Chapters 9 and 10

3. Practice Advanced Math questions from chapter 1
