Caleb had invited Naz back to the studio again for another yoga session. The last one the spirit attended with him seemed to challenge her enough even with her ballet dancer experience and that was a good thing in Caleb’s books. Yoga was meant to be challenging and he enjoyed seeing how much everyone’s bodies were capable of.

That was not the only reason though. Ever since the werewolf found out about this alternate version of himself, the life he led and the people he formed relationships with, he had been in a state. Caleb did not usually think about getting together with others and to know that Naz and Kyoko both played such intimate roles in his life was surprising. He also found that having the experiences of his version of himself left him with a lingering sense of longing for the spirit elder and that was also why he wanted to see her again.

He was talking to some of his regular students at the front of class when he noticed Naz enter and he excused himself to head over to her to tap her on the shoulder.

“You made it,” he grinned.

"Check this one out." Any time Naz got to spend with Elliot was heaven in its own right; but spending time when it was just the two of them? Naz wasn't entirely sure how his knees hadn't given out yet. He tried to keep his feelings close to his chest and not extremely obvious, since he wasn't entirely sure that they felt the same way, but it was a little evident how he would practically trip over himself for anything they asked. "I told you posing like a cryptid would make the photos turn out really cool."

After he had seen the potential future, there were a few things that had stuck in their mind. One of them was the various interactions they’d had with Caleb. In that weird almost apocalyptic situation, they’d stopped having such strong negative feelings regarding wolves and Caleb was partially the reason for that. Even now, despite none of the vision being accurate to current day, Judas still felt himself less at odds with werewolves than before. Asking Naz where she might find the wolf, they ventured to the yoga studio that Caleb frequented. It definitely seemed kind of weird to just show up when they’d never been there before but they wanted to talk to him. Eventually, they saw him and crossed the space quickly.

2030: The Hack was a big detriment to Naz's business, a lot of details about the cases she had been involved in and protected was leaked to the public. She worked hard to contain the information but eventually, they decided a treaty would be better for everyone. During this time, Naz noticed that her spirit powers were getting more erratic. This slowly becomes worse over the next few years.

2032: Some news came to light about a case that Naz covered and an angry husband came looking for Naz, first at her work and then her home in Chissob Hills. After a few altercations, Naz came home to find her home on fire and the husband laughing at her misfortunate. In a fit of rage, the spirit lashed out and killed him. Watching as her home went up in flames, Naz spent a few hours transferring her money and funds to Judas Samara. She visits the vampire before she takes the final step, wanting to say goodbye to him. Judas was her oldest friend and someone she loved dearly so setting them up for the rest of their life was important to her.  

2033: Tuzi Kanin is born in Perth, Australia. The young boy loves to dance, something he told his parents he used to do before but when he was a ghost rabbit. They laugh it off as part of a story he must have heard on TV.

2053: Despite knowing about the supernatural going ons, Tuzi accepts a scholarship and moves to Vievecor to study ballet and theatre. He meets Judas Samara by chance and can't help but think he knows them from somewhere.

2058: In the current year, Tuzi continues to study and perform but he is not clueless to what is going on. He grew up seeing discrimination to his family and those around him and he never tolerated it but he knows there's little he can do to help them. When given a chance, he'll help hide or assist any supernatural who gets caught out in his apartment or dance studio before they can move to safety but he wishes he could do more. Running into Judas again, he agrees to assist with hiding outcast supernaturals before they can be relocated to a safer location.

Blog Week 12

Reflection

After reviewing the seamless nature of my project, I addressed the dissimilar elements within my work. The consistent switches in colour made the shifts between shapes more blaring. To combat this I changed the colour hex to #C317DF being purple. Aside from this having white and grey tonal shifts all the elements were within this colour hex, making the project more visually seamless. After this a lot of the workload consisted of creating the seamless transition between the motion graphics, I did them mostly with playing within keyframes of the position, scale and opacity as well as keyframing multiple distortion effects.

Research

Academic

In Naz Kaya’s research piece ‘Relationship between color and emotion: a study of college students’ delves into the emotional relationships people have with certain colours. This piece ensured me of the color to pick when choosing a consistent color palette for my exhilarating abstract video art. Purple was seen within the principal hues and seen to be “stately and dignified”. It was stated that the “ positive aspects of purple are tended to mainly be associated with children and laughing”. As a lot of my previous research discusses the importance of fearful play to create exhilaration in children this quote made me feel drawn to pick the color purple as my primary color in my project.

Creative practice

For my creative practice I have been watching back my project multiple times and really pinpointing the areas that needed polishing. Here are some stills from my after effects composition of my finial motion graphics.

Technical

This week technically consisted of finalising the master timeline of my project within After Effects and rendering it. My internal RAM seems to be quite full on my laptop which has created some slower processing issues and caused the media encoder to stop working but I was able to troubleshoot these by clearing some other abode disk caches. For the next week forward as I am presenting a version of my project with my triangular shapes of mad mapper I will need to go in on Monday and glue them all together. With the open studio classes and curating the digital exhibitions, I have been post poning putting more of the shapes in the black box until this upcoming Monday.

Progress

Overall as this project comes to a conclusion this week has consisted of final renders and completing the presentation regarding a reflection of the final assignment. Overall I feel happy with my work there are definitely aspects I am not as proud of but overall this process has helped me enormously better understand working in motion graphics, projection mapping and working with music. I tend to get very ambitious about projects at the smart so the slow process of troubleshooting every week allowed me to come to terms with the importance of creating an achievable project within the deadline required.

Max smiled when Naz mentioned her own pet. People who had pets always sat easier with them, especially with the way she talked about Benito. "That is a fantastic name, Benito."

Pulling the book off the counter and grabbing a pencil and sticking it behind their ear. "Ah gotcha so placement is going to be important. Good to know. What's your first tattoo if you don't mind me asking?" She gestures for Naz to follow picking one of the studio's little tattooing stations and plopping down in her rollie chair.

There were lots of fun ways to do small but important tattoos. Max had a few stars that she had done behind her ear that had a tendency to move to her hand when they got anxious to give them something to trace. "I'm a sucker for these little ones behind my ears. They make for great accessories and I don't have to worry about stabbing myself with earring backs which is nice."

The spirit felt a little better knowing they hadn't interrupted the artist's creative flow with her interruptions. They nodded, taking a small turn around the shop space, noting the different magical items. Most of them would seem perfectly normal to human's who didn't know magic existed.

"I think it certainly fits the vibe," she agreed. Witch things weren't really her thing, given she didn't always have the fondest opinion of them. Not that she would blame Max for that. Naz had just dealt with enough magical cases that she had a healthy sense of caution.

Naz chuckled at the ferret's antics, clearly glad to meet her too. She watched him zoom from place to place, knowing that all animals got that way. "He's totally fine. I have a rabbit named Benito, he gets the zoomies too."

She moved forward, stopping just before Max and their notebook. "That sounds like a good idea," she agreed. "I only have one tattoo at the moment and it's quite small. I think small is good though, my profession doesn't really approve of tattoos," she explained. It wasn't that it wasn't allowed but appearance was important when standing in front of a judge and jury.

Hindi Patrakarita Day Celebrated at International Journalism Centre

Noida: On the occasion of Hindi Journalism Day, a seminar on the subject of “Journalism of Immortality and Indianness” was jointly organized by International Journalism Centre of the International Chamber of Media and Entertainment Industries, RJS Positive Media, and RJS PBH. The event took place on May 30, 2023, at Marwah Studio, Film city Noida. Eminent thinkers, journalists, and media analysts shared their insights on various aspects of Hindi journalism, including travel, professionalism in media, marketism, cultural pollution, language degradation, morality, and the role of media as the fourth pillar of democracy.

The chief guest at the event was Professor Ram Sharan Joshi, the former Vice Chancellor of Makhanlal Chaturvedi University of Journalism and Mass Communication. Shri Gauri Shankar Raina, the former Director of Doordarshan, presided over the seminar. Distinguished participants included journalists Ravi Parashar, Kumar Rakesh, Vasindra Mishra, Rajeev Gautam, Prasar Bharati consultant Mr. Umesh Chaturvedi, retired program executive from All India Radio Mr. Parthasarathi Thapliyal, Professor Vinita Gupta from Agrasen College’s Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, spokesperson of Brahma Kumari Divine University BK Sushant Bhai, and Associate Professor at Indian Institute of Mass Communication Dr. Pawan Kaundal.

The seminar sparked thought-provoking discussions on the development of Hindi journalism and its role in today’s society. Speakers emphasized the ethical challenges faced by media in the pursuit of TRP ratings and called for a balance between freedom of expression and maintaining social norms and morals. They also highlighted the evolution of Hindi journalism during the freedom movement and post-independence era, noting the transition from traditional electronic media to the digital landscape.

President of Marwah Studios Sandeep Marwah, also the Chancellor of AAFT University, provided inspiration for the event, which was held at Filmcity Noida. RJS Uday Kumar Manna, the program coordinator, extended a warm welcome to all the esteemed guests on Hindi Journalism Day. The event also recognized the contributions of journalists and positive media families associated with the positive India-Uday movement, honoring them for their dedication to Hindi journalism.

Distinguished journalists such as Deepika Sharma, Rakesh Chawla, Uma Naz Singh, Prarthana Sharma, Amrita Chaurasia, Vasindra Mishra, Sonika Singh, Ritu Rana, Varun Shyokand, Rajiv Gautam, Ravi Parashar, and several others were felicitated during the ceremony. Certificates and mementos were presented to all the guests as a token of appreciation. The seminar, expertly moderated by RJS National Convenor Uday Manna and RJS Observer Deepchand Mathur, concluded with expressions of gratitude to all the participants. Sandeep Marwah shared the current status of Hindi journalism, highlighting its steady growth rate of 15 percent.
