The night was just starting, so there were only a couple of regulars—two old men who liked to come in early in the evening—at the other end of the bar. “Y’know,” she said, not looking Bucky’s way. “If you’re this close to your heat, you can take the night off.”

Based on some rumblings I heard, I ended up quickly throwing together a fun little WIP bingo sheet! I'll admit I largely wrote the prompts for writing, but I think a good number of them should also apply to art!

Ultimately, the goal is to have fun, and finish whatever WIPs you can (without burning yourself out or having a bad time). If you needed a sign to pick up that project you've been putting off, the time is now!

So Captain America and Bucky Barnes were so gay in the Winter Soldier that Disney had to backpedal so hard they left skid marks on pride avenue, and throw in a generic hot blonde who makes out with Cap the next movie, while Bucky gives him the thumbs up and high fives Sam Wilson like a dude bro at a frat party.

A hot blonde who never shows up ever again and isn't mentioned and is totally irrelevant.

And it's really funny because X Men did the same thing, where Charles and Erik were so fucking gay in Days of Future Past, that in Apocalypse they literally threw in Moira who does absolutely NOTHING for that entire movie, except be hot so that Charles can ogle at her like a drooling pitbull.

Keep in mind that she barely did anything in First Class either, and she might as well be a non character.

But then you look at fucking Venom.

A movie that did the full fucking reverse.

Where they had the subtext... and then they said fuck it.

And ramped it the hell up.

And to me?

That's peak comedy.

Venom might not be as well written as Winter Soldier or Days of Future Past, but it's the fucking spirit of the thing that counts.

Maybe it's because the Russos are terrified of gays and Chad Tom Hardy is having gay sex, I don't know.

all I know is venom is mending the wounds left by the other movies. good job, venom, and thank you, tom.

Okay gang, I'm making an executive decision.

Per @imposterogers , Sunday, March 10th, 2024, is Resurrect Stucky Day.

Watch CFA & CATWS and post on Tumblr as you do so (maybe even cherrypick your way through CACW; I like to end after the helicopter scene, when Steve pops up out of the water with Bucky) and resolutely refuse to watch the end of Endgame.

In fact, we could start our double/triple feature at 7:04p EST to commemorate Steve's birthday alongside Bucky's and in recognition of their Eastern Standard Time Brooklyn roots, and still be done with both movies by midnight, sooner for the rest of the U.S. I can't choose a time for our global compatriots (because I'm not a monster... or all that good with math), but hopefully, you all can find a good time to fit it into your schedule.

Someone could also host an Endgame Fix-it Competition (where everybody wins because the more fics clearing out the horrible taste that ending left us with, the better) ...or some other event.

Then celebrate the day of however you like:

Bring your new and old fanart and fanfiction to post here on Tumblr (or wherever you post. I am currently working on a few novel-length pieces, so maybe that's the day I'll start posting chapters on here and AO3).

Reread your favorite fanfics like This, You Protect by @vmohlere, and 4-Minute Window by @cesperanza. And for the love of everything, comment. Fic writers live on comments.

Give love to your favorite/all fanartists.

Bake the boys a birthday cake and eat it all in one go. And then probably throw up. But it still counts!

Stand on the side of the road with a sign stating, "Bucky deserved better!" ...because he did.

Wear all of your Captain America-themed clothes... all at once, multiple outfit changes throughout the day, or....

Cosplay as one of the boys (I think cosplaying as Natasha or Sam would also count, don't you?).

We are one of the biggest Fandoms out there. We can bring this back, and I think we should. Stucky is beautiful, and like the ship's hero and anti-hero, it means something.... because we still need a gay Captain America, y'all. And these boys deserve a happy ending.

step 2: the mcu has scorned us. for me its a big reason why I stepped away from stevebucky (because it hurt my feelings to think about steve leaving bucky like that and I am Weak). I think we should pick a specific comic run to all obsess and analyze and create content over that doesn't end in tragedy

step 3: post. post a lot. reblog old posts. hell, completely plagiarize your old posts and repost them. there's a lot of good content from circa 2015 we can revitalize

step 4: make them into a meme. pick a single screencap of them and COMMIT!!!! we need to universally decide which one to use, how to use it, and stick to it
