I’ve been working on some (very much self indulgent) plant stickers I will be releasing soon to open my store for the first time!
I love drawing plants, it has always been my comfort and my go to when I draw. I really can’t not include plants in my art!

Went over my calathea shelf to check for pests and make sure nobody needed water (somebody did) so I have pictures!!

My rattlesnake & stromanthe are so happy :D my smaller rattlesnake is also producing bigger leaves now too! I didn't get a picture of her tho, I really just wanted pictures of these two because they're SO FULL! which means I might be dividing them soon :3

(rotundifolia leaf 👁️👁️) my ivy is also thriving! Not that I really expected trouble from her lol

Anthuriummmm :3 she's flowering!!!! I wasn't sure what color her flowers were when I first got her so I'm very glad to know now that she has pink flowers!
Also obligatory succulent shelf pics because she's right beside my bed and the easiest to take pictures of :)

On the lower shelf I recently brought the sedum prop pot out of the greenhouse, the watermelon pep is doing much better! I think she just needed more water than I originally thought, my ripple jade cuttings are rooting in their nice spacious terracotta pot & the ogre ear is settling in nicely :)

All my top shelf succulents are doing well too :) except my hen & chicks and the little funky one in the tiny terracotta pot,, not sure what their problems are but I might end up repotting them if they don't get better idk

My triostar stromanthe is continuing to be happy in its corner. Would love to move it because it's gotten HUGE but also I'm afraid to disturb it lol

My ctenanthe lubbersina got spider mites out of nowhere a few weeks ago. I had to treat it pretty aggressively since the plant was so big, but I think it's also finally freaking out about being a fully grown 2 foot tall plant in a maybe 6 inch pot along with all the other stressors of being in plant quarantine. The only reason I didn't re pot it immediately was because I could not for the life of me figure out if ctenanthes are like other plants in the maranticae family and want to be in fairly shallow pots or not. Finally found a post that specifies an adult plants will want a 12 inch pot, and while it doesn't mention depth I think I'll still go fairly shallow just to avoid a lot of extra water sitting around causing root rot.
Anyways! I'm almost done treating it! Turns out the method where you just chuck the whole plant in the shower a few times is way more effective than an isopropyl/neem oil spray. At least at this size. I'm excited to finally have this guy back in my room and in a nice new pot!

I'm gonna talk about how I found my favorite plant family EVER because I think it's an interesting story
So I was just getting back into gardening & I had an idea for a purse-type accessory that's literally just a plant and I WAS just gonna draw it but I thought that would be fucking SICK to have irl so I tried to look for a plant that doesn't hate moving around a lot. Unsurprisingly, they all prefer to stay in one place, even if they're potted. But my research brought me to plants that move their leaves, prayer plants!!! They move their leaves to get more sun during the day and then they close up at night which is ADORABLE , and they're sooo gorgeous literally all of them are so pretty and THEYRE PET SAFE 🎉🎉 and all of these things made me watch tons more videos about them and eventually get some of my own<3 theyre still my favorite kind of plants and im still collecting them! I don't have many more than when I started tho because I spent my first spring fucking around with seeds despite having the WRONG conditions to be doing that at the time

Stromanthe Triostar Plant | Green Ozean
Stromanthe Triostar develops best under backhanded light, so setting your plant in a warm, sufficiently bright spot is ideal. Never put your Stromanthe Triostar under direct daylight. Keep the dirt marginally sodden, yet all the same not spongy. Water your Stromanthe Triostar when the top inch of the dirt is dry.Your Stromanthe Triostar lean towards a sufficiently bright spot with brilliant, backhanded light. However it can endure lower levels of light, the brilliant variegation will blur. Keep away from direct daylight which can consume the leaves. The triostar stromanthe (Stromanthe sanguinea) has amazing, full variegate foliage with lively shades of pink. It tends to be filled outside in blistering and muggy environments, however it truly does best well inside and is all the more regularly developed as a house plant.
