I’ve been working on some (very much self indulgent) plant stickers I will be releasing soon to open my store for the first time!
I love drawing plants, it has always been my comfort and my go to when I draw. I really can’t not include plants in my art!

Went over my calathea shelf to check for pests and make sure nobody needed water (somebody did) so I have pictures!!

My rattlesnake & stromanthe are so happy :D my smaller rattlesnake is also producing bigger leaves now too! I didn't get a picture of her tho, I really just wanted pictures of these two because they're SO FULL! which means I might be dividing them soon :3

(rotundifolia leaf 👁️👁️) my ivy is also thriving! Not that I really expected trouble from her lol

Anthuriummmm :3 she's flowering!!!! I wasn't sure what color her flowers were when I first got her so I'm very glad to know now that she has pink flowers!
Also obligatory succulent shelf pics because she's right beside my bed and the easiest to take pictures of :)

On the lower shelf I recently brought the sedum prop pot out of the greenhouse, the watermelon pep is doing much better! I think she just needed more water than I originally thought, my ripple jade cuttings are rooting in their nice spacious terracotta pot & the ogre ear is settling in nicely :)

All my top shelf succulents are doing well too :) except my hen & chicks and the little funky one in the tiny terracotta pot,, not sure what their problems are but I might end up repotting them if they don't get better idk

here's my obligatory "i swear i'm not dead yet!!!" post for 2024! i'll finally be DONE FOREVER with college this june, which means i can go back to my hobbies again (sims included).
last time i made something was last september (yikes). i'm probably very rusty but i've also learned a lot of cool stuff in blender these past few months which i hope i can use in my future creations :-)
as for my plants........ well lol. all i have left are:
Aloe Vera
Maranta Leuconeura
Philodendron Pink Princess (the only one from my first batch of plants that survived lol)
Philodendron Pink Princess Marble (lots of pink! i like it better than the regular ppp since the variegation is very stable and all leaves got pink in them)
Pothos Marble Queen (this one got huge!)
Pothos N'joy
on the bright side they are all doing great since i've finally found the secret to keeping plants alive: ignoring them as much as possible lol. now i see i killed most of my plats by overwatering and over fertilizing. and as much as i love them i'm also staying away from delicate plants like calatheas bc my city's weather is just not good for them.
here's a list of all the plants i killed in 2022-2023:
Stromanthe Sanguinea Triostar (this one HURT SO MUCH omg)
Stromanthe Sanguinea
Philodendron Pink Princess 2.0
Calathea White Fusion
Tradescantia Fluminensis Tricolor
Aglaonema China Red
Calathea Ornata
that's all lol... see u soon! <3

tell me about ... red plants ....
I typed up an entire fuckinf essay and tumblr deleted it so here’s me trying to recreate it. i may cry. EDIT: did it again after I finished it. cool.
SO here are flowers that are red
- peonies. always a fave. my mom used to take lots of pictures of them. one of the few flowers off the top of my head I can think of that represent death. I don’t know much about their care, but I remember seeing them in Germany
- amaryllis…my fave my baby Girl. I love.. I love when it’s red it’s my FAVE ok. I explained them previously methinks
- bleeding hearts are interesting . look at That

NON flower red plants…
ok this is cool time
- copperhead copper plants are SO SO red and when I say red I mean oh my god that is certainly red. they like full to partial sun and aren’t picky about soil ph but like when it’s richer. and they should always be moist but not too moist. I want this so bad. it is beautiful and if I could have 1 new plant this would be it .

- tricolor stromanthe are also cool, they like bright indirect light and to be watered once a week or so. they are ez to keep alive but can be hard to keep pretty. anyways their coloring is a little weird, liek some leaves are red or some are only red on one side. weird ass.

this isn’t an exhaustive list at all, just my 5 fave red plants teehee. it’s now 4:39 am so im doing this half awake. aaaaaand post
#plantposting#plants#houseplants#autism mode#flowers#anyways people should get my comms so I can get a copperhead copper plant and the edgeworth figure

Keep your Stromanthe thriving with the right care! Place it in bright, indirect light, maintain moist but well-draining soil, and keep humidity levels high. Avoid direct sunlight to prevent leaf burn, and mist regularly for lush growth

How are your plants? Which do you have? I have a soft spit for ones I see at the store that look sad or are small and need a home, then they get really big!
Also does Weepingbell count as a pet plant?
you have no idea what you just got yourself into lmao - ooc
"My plants are doing fine, obviously. I have about..."
"After checking: I have about 370+ plants, which include...ZZ plants, many types of cacti and succulents, one orchid, many types of pothos, some philodendrons, some snake plants, many types of aloes, monsteras, Scindapsus, euphorbias, hoyas, string of plants, fittonias, polka dot plants, dieffenbachia, many types of peperomias"
dear arceus, give him a minute to catch his breathe-
"dracenas, spider plants, cordyline, stromanthe triostar, few types of ferns, moss anddd Cryptanthus and other shit"
"Yeah sure, Weepingbell counts its literally a pitcher plant at best"

i have become slightly obsessed with houseplants. i almost have 40. a lot of them were cuttings from my mom but i have definitely spend a lot of money on new plants too.

i really love this guy because he's all black. it's so cool! and they barely ever need to be watered

have also bought a grow light for my plants which is fun to try out. the guy on the left is Eugene, our ficus Benjamina. and on the right is my pride and joy my Stromanthe Triostar who I desperately want to name something cute but i still haven't come up with anything clever.

maybe I have too many plants? I don't think so. A lot of them are easy plants. But we'll see once I start working again on december 1st whether I can keep them alive longterm...

today's lesson is learning how to understand what I mean by plant variations being slightly to the right or slightly to the left
slightly to the right:

plant is completely normal in shape, but there is a color variation that's different from the original - i.e. any variegated plant like this stromanthe (I know they're supposed to be pink but it has a typical pattern of variegated plants)
slightly to the left:

plant is normal aside from a different shape such as the curly bamboo or this specific type of snake plant

I'm gonna talk about how I found my favorite plant family EVER because I think it's an interesting story
So I was just getting back into gardening & I had an idea for a purse-type accessory that's literally just a plant and I WAS just gonna draw it but I thought that would be fucking SICK to have irl so I tried to look for a plant that doesn't hate moving around a lot. Unsurprisingly, they all prefer to stay in one place, even if they're potted. But my research brought me to plants that move their leaves, prayer plants!!! They move their leaves to get more sun during the day and then they close up at night which is ADORABLE , and they're sooo gorgeous literally all of them are so pretty and THEYRE PET SAFE 🎉🎉 and all of these things made me watch tons more videos about them and eventually get some of my own<3 theyre still my favorite kind of plants and im still collecting them! I don't have many more than when I started tho because I spent my first spring fucking around with seeds despite having the WRONG conditions to be doing that at the time
#whoever let me have a blog to talk about plants fucked up#i will NEVER shut up#i love plants#calathea#maranta#stromanthe#prayer plants

7, 15, and 42
7. What color dominates your closet?
I answered this one here!
15. Do you have any houseplants? Do any of them have names?
I have many, many houseplants--I have four or five pathos, a small monstera, a stromanthe triostar and a calathea pinstripe (because they both have pink leaves lol), a money tree, and a snake plant.
However, none of them have names because I am very bad at naming things. The only plant I ever named was a money tree called Katniss. Here she is with Peeta:

42. Do you have any games on your phone? If so, which one(s) is/are your favorite?
I do! I enjoy my silly matching/puzzle games while listening to a podcast at the end of the day. I have a version of 2048 and a Tetris type game that are addicting as well as Homescapes (the ads got me) and some other similar silly puzzle games. I also have a bunch of games for work reasons so my phone looks like a middle-aged mom's lmao.
