Mike Norvell makes clear he is not leaving Memphis

Mike Norvell made it clear on Monday that he is not leaving Memphis.

Norvell is in his third season at Memphis since taking over for Justin Fuente after the 2015 season. He has continued the success built by Fuente, going 26-13 with the Tigers.

The success of the Tigers has led to Norvell’s coaching staff being poached, with offensive coordinator Kenny Dillingham being hired by Auburn and defensive coordinator Chris Ball taking the head coaching job at Northern Arizona. Norvell tweeted on Monday that it was cool to see the entire country taking note of what they’ve built by hiring members of his staff.

In addition to his coordinators, Norvell’s name has come up for other jobs regularly. Last year he was linked to the Arkansas job, and this year he was mentioned for the Kansas State vacancy.

Norvell addressed those rumors via Twitter, saying he’s not leaving Memphis.

Norvell received a 5-year, $13 million contract extension last year. His tweet is probably reassuring to Memphis fans, especially after members of the coaching staff left to take other positions.

Leggings and sweat pants may be warmer that tights and jeans. – Wear wool or something more moisture-wicking instead of cotton, especially for for your first layer. – Hats and gloves! (seems like a no-brainer, but it’s a good reminder) – Hand warmers in your gloves, boots, pockets – Vests are underrated, especially for their bulk v. warmth ratio I’d add that a blanket to sit on  – instead of a tush-to-metal seat situation – will go a long way. I’m also going to be sure to have a hearty breakfast and then eat my weight in Pronto Pups during the game to keep my strength up. I’ll bet buying some coffee – or, let’s be honest – some adult beverages, wouldn’t hurt for at least feeling warmer.
