One of the earliest examples of Leo’s “I’ll do my own thing to accomplish our goal without discussing it with my team first” is in episode one. It’s super, super quick, and ultimately inconsequential, but it subtly sets up a great precedent that I think is very interesting.

When the boys need to grab the medallion from Splinter without Splinter noticing, Raph, Mikey, and Donnie huddle together with Raph taking the lead in trying to devise a plan to get the mystic device. Meanwhile, Leo slinks away and grabs the device by clocking the situation (by knowing his father well enough to predict his actions - something he does with each family member multiple times in the series) and making a move on his own.

It works out perfectly fine, and is ultimately the best move, and it’s honestly okay that he didn’t consult everyone for something so small when it’s such a non issue to get it, but it nicely sets up how this tends to go in the series, including how it goes in the movie.

To be honest episode one is actually really good at setting up a lot of things for each character in the long run, this is just one example that caught my attention, as small and unassuming as it is.

the world of Kirby is hilarious to me because Dream Land is the happiest gumdrop rainbow world you'll ever see, and its king and all his friends like to beat the crap out of each other for fun

and then you have Meta Knight, who has such a lust for violence that he must play Fight Club with Kirby every so often, or else he goes crazy and starts blasting cities with his battleship

(and even when he is so satiated, that need to fight is what things like the Jamba Heart and ID-F86 have preyed on when they tried to brainwash him into evil)

Genuine question as I am curious — I know it’s pretty obvious with his expressions/ body language that Daniel seemed shy/insecure(?) about having his braces, but has he ever outright said anything about feeling that way with them? Just out of curiosity as I am new around here!

I love how it’s canon that Annabeth can cook and bake but we as a fandom just ignore that and make her terrible at it.

I love this shot because it's all Barbara here, not Della. Barbara Hale went to art school before becoming an actress. She never learned shorthand or any other secretarial skills—all those times we see Della furiously scribbling in a notepad, Hale was really sketching.

Raymond Burr was a huge art fan. In addition to being an avid collector, for a few years he operated his own art gallery. Love of art was one of the many things he and Hale had in common and was an important part of their long and deep friendship.

While in the episode, the portrait of Perry is supposed to be a gift to Perry from a grateful client, in reality Hale had done the portrait of Burr as a gift. That's why she's so proud and happy in this shot: she's gifting a dear friend a work of art she created with her own hands.

the chapter stories in the one piece manga are so like. ok half the time its cute like "ace makes friends with a little milkmaid" or its just whatever "enel goes to the moon" was supposed to be. but every now and there there's "the only reason rob lucci survived after enies lobby is because the rest of CP-9 got together and put on the biggest talent show this town has ever seen to pay for his medical bills" like HUH?
